I’ve been coming here since I lived about 30 minutes away by train. Even after moving to a place about two hours away, I still visit from time to time specifically to stay at this Hotel and explore Takasaki. From the moment you step into the entrance with flowing water, you’re drawn into an extraordinary world. More than anything, I love the atmosphere of the large public bath. If you bathe before sunset, sunlight pours in and it’s bright and truly wonderful. Soaking in the open-air bath while listening to Shinkansen announcements as background music is pure bliss—I can forget everything. Both the guest rooms and the entire property are clean and comfortable. Since I’ve stayed many times, every visit feels like “I’m back.” The breakfast venue is very open and airy, and just as comfortable. The honey butter was so delicious that next time I plan to enjoy it generously again. Thank you always, and I look forward to staying with you again!

I was immediately captivated by the rural scenery from the Room. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and we also used the private open-air bath. Every area was spotlessly cleaned, making it very pleasant. The in-Room amenities were thoughtfully prepared, and there was nothing missing—I felt you could arrive empty-handed and still enjoy a comfortable stay. I was especially impressed to find single-use packets of laundry detergent among the amenities; it really showed how considerate this Hotel is.

After something great happened at work, I wanted to celebrate by relaxing on my own at an Accommodation with a view of Mt. Fuji, so I decided to stay solo. The staff assigned to my Room took wonderful care of me throughout my stay, the food was delicious, and I was able to spend a truly relaxing time. Mt. Fuji can be unpredictable and I could only see it in the early morning, but it was so beautiful that waking up at 5 a.m. didn’t feel like a burden at all. When I consulted in advance about wanting to celebrate and have cake, they arranged one from a nearby cake shop, and I was able to enjoy it in my Room together with champagne as a welcome drink. The head chef was also very thoughtful, which made me very happy. Adjusting the temperature of the Onsen in the Room was a bit tricky, but other than that there were no issues and I was completely satisfied. You can clearly see Mt. Fuji even from the Room—this Accommodation’s location is truly incredible.

My spouse and I stayed here, and it was an even more wonderful experience than we expected. What impressed us most was the food. Luxurious ingredients like spiny lobster and abalone were, of course, delicious, but even more than that, we were captivated by the care put into each dish—from the appetizers to the assorted small plates. The gentle flavors that respected each ingredient’s natural taste and the beautiful seasonal presentation conveyed true thoughtfulness. We enjoyed both Japanese and Western elements, and even breakfast left us completely satisfied. From our welcome through to mealtimes, the service was consistently warm and attentive. The facilities and our room were spotless, with thoughtful touches throughout, making our stay very comfortable. We also enjoyed the private free-flowing hot spring bath at our leisure without having to wait. With the sea nearby, it’s a lovely setting where you can enjoy the sound of waves—and occasionally a passing train—adding to the sense of travel. Between the delicious cuisine, hot springs, and comforting hospitality, we felt truly refreshed. We were both very satisfied and would love to return again.

We stayed in the “Japanese-Western Style Room with Open-Air Hot Spring Bath.” It’s not cheap, but it was absolutely worth it—an incredibly satisfying stay! ■ Room & private open-air bath The room was beautifully luxurious, and the view from it was outstanding. There were both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and I loved that I could adjust the temperature of the open-air bath myself. I set it a bit lukewarm and enjoyed a long soak while taking in the scenery. The room also came with a great selection of complimentary drinks, and having one out on the balcony while admiring the view felt like pure luxury. ■ Scenic public bath (a must!) The in-room baths were amazing, but please make sure to visit the large public bath as well! I’ve been to many hot springs, and the view from this one is among the very best. There are two baths with separate men’s/women’s hours (they rotate), so I highly recommend trying both. The daytime views are spectacular—but nighttime is something else entirely. Everything around you is pitch-black, to the point where you can barely see anything at first. As your eyes adjust, mountain silhouettes emerge with an almost overwhelming presence—like giants looming close by. Just when you think “This is scary,” you look up…and there’s a sky full of stars! It had been ages since I’d seen stars that beautiful—I was so moved I honestly wished they would turn off the lights in the bathing area. ■ Dining & service Every dish was refined and delicious. That said, younger guests might find the portions a little light (though drinking may be part of it—my spouse and I don’t drink). Also, I would have loved to have a big pickled plum at breakfast as well. The staff service was excellent throughout—we were impressed from start to finish. ■ Access / other notes - The roads on the way in and the parking lot are spacious, so even larger vehicles should be fine (we drove a BMW 2-door coupe about 5 m long). However, if it snows in winter, it may not melt quickly and could be challenging. - It’s surrounded by nature, so insects do appear. My wife said that with check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM there still wasn’t enough time to fully enjoy everything—and she truly didn’t want to leave. For me, Hita used to be just somewhere we passed through—but thanks to this inn, it has become a destination in itself. We will definitely return!

It’s a bit far from Tokyo, but I’m truly glad we stayed here! The property was very clean, and the lounge had plenty of drinks—my excitement started the moment we arrived. For dinner, we ordered horse sashimi and a three-sake tasting set separately, and it was amazing. Highly recommended. Breakfast was also delicious across the board. The Onsen was relaxing since it was always empty whenever we went (not just the private one), and we were also able to use the baths at a larger affiliated Hotel, which made us very satisfied. The Room was comfortable, and I slept soundly. Above all, the warm hospitality from all the staff made us feel at ease. We’ll definitely be back again. Thank you for taking such great care of us.

Once again, I was very satisfied with the cuisine, the Room, and the service, and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Dinner in particular was excellent and truly outstanding, including the salt-grilled ayu we ordered separately. One request: drinks in the lobby lounge end at 7:00 PM, but it would be appreciated if guests could have a drink after dinner, so I would be grateful if you could consider staying open until around 9:00 PM. In any case, I would like to visit again in a different season and look forward to enjoying your delicious food and sake. Thank you for your hospitality.

From sweets and tea in the lounge to beer and wine at the restaurant, we enjoyed delicious offerings throughout the day. Everything was excellent, from the salads and sushi to the special menu item of scallop sashimi. Even though we were full, we also enjoyed the evening live performance. We would love to visit again.

Conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Station, the view from the Room was great, with Dogo Onsen Honkan and Matsuyama Castle visible. The window glass had a pattern, so it would have been even better if it were completely clear. The Room was clean and comfortable, with a nice sense of cleanliness. The large public bath on the top floor was also very relaxing, and I especially recommend the open-air bath! We used the buffet for both breakfast and dinner, and there were many local dishes and unique items—everything was delicious. Dinner was a half-buffet, but we were very full, so I thought it would be nice to have a Plan with buffet only (it may already exist...). Also, I’d be happy if there were mandarin orange juice at breakfast! It was also great to have live piano music in the evening.

This was my first time staying here. When visiting Disney, I had only ever stayed at Disney hotels or official partner hotels, but I was very satisfied and would definitely like to stay here again. The room and the bathroom were clean and spacious, and the location was close by—overall, I couldn’t be happier. Being able to relax until 12:00 was wonderful. We stayed for two nights, and on the second day breakfast was on the 22nd floor with a great view. It was so refreshing to spend a relaxing morning at the counter seating. Thank you very much.

We stayed in the South Wing. We loved having a separate bedroom and a massage chair, and the entrance and wash area were spacious as well. In-room dining, a semi-open-air bath in the Room, the large public bath, and the lounge—everything we wish for on an Onsen trip was there. The meals were delicious, made with carefully selected local ingredients and thoughtfully prepared dish by dish. We were impressed by the considerate touches such as chairs near the elevator, as well as the original coffee and tea provided in the Room. Above all, it was wonderful to see how efficiently and pleasantly all of the staff worked. We would love to visit again in a different season.

It was simply amazing!! I’ve stayed at many large Ryokan, and I was delighted to enjoy both the scenic-view baths and a variety of hot springs. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with more food than we could finish. Everything was truly delicious—thank you very much. The building had a classic, long-established feel, but the staff’s hospitality was outstanding. We stayed with our child and had a great time without ever getting bored, thanks to the pool, fishing, arcade, and play area. It made us want to come back again if we get the chance. We debated among several Accommodations on Awaji Island (including sister properties), but we’re congratulating ourselves for making a great choice with Hotel New Awaji.

I’d love to visit again. It couldn’t have been more comfortable. Warm and kind, with just the right amount of distance—truly relaxing from the heart. So this is what hospitality is. The staff’s teamwork was wonderful, and somehow it felt like coming home. Making my own onsen egg was fun, too. We stayed in a special room; it was spacious and excellent, with a massage chair as well. My family and I even said we should have stayed one more night. We were also able to use the new lounge called Waraku. After the hot springs, we could relax in our yukata at Waraku while enjoying drinks and light snacks.

This is an inn I’d been wanting to visit for a long time. I was welcomed with warm smiles, and after relaxing in my room, I headed straight to the baths. Just as a friend who lives in Nagaoka City had told me, the water was gentle—silky smooth and almost like lotion. There was also a hot stone sauna and an open-air bath, so I enjoyed trying different options. The meals were beautifully presented—almost too lovely to start eating—and the flavors were just right for me. Breakfast the next morning was delicious as well. I was especially happy to have Yasuda Yogurt!!! Before leaving, I enjoyed a coffee in the lounge and was seen off by the staff. It’s an inn I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much!

The room was spacious, and having two free-flowing hot spring baths made for a truly luxurious stay. The amenities were well stocked, which I think many women will appreciate. We also enjoyed using the massage chair and were able to fully relax. This is an accommodation we would love to visit again.

My third “Fufu” experience was once again an exceptionally comfortable stay that far exceeded my expectations. I was deeply impressed by the staff’s attentive hospitality and the perfect care taken regarding ingredients I had mentioned in advance that I cannot eat. The cuisine, beautifully presented with colors that reflect the changing seasons, was a delight to the eyes and offered outstanding flavors that truly moved me. With its refined, one-of-a-kind comfort, this is a remarkable inn I can confidently recommend to anyone. I also heard that the new annex currently under construction across the road is scheduled for completion next year, and I’m already looking forward to deciding which “Fufu” to visit next. P.S. Just one suggestion: having a handrail or similar support in the reclining bath would feel even safer. My petite wife slipped slightly, so we would appreciate your consideration.

Although it’s a secluded Accommodation deep in the mountains, it’s relatively easy to access by car and not difficult to reach. The Accommodation features classic, traditional Japanese architecture, yet it feels clean and has been thoughtfully renovated for comfort and ease of use. It was clear how much care goes into its upkeep, which I truly admire. The surrounding nature is lush, and the greenery and gentle sound of the river are very soothing. That said, the bedding mattress felt a bit firm for me personally, which was a small minus point (I didn’t wake up sore the next morning, so this is purely my personal impression). The hot spring source is around 37°C and lukewarm, but there are also heated baths, so it wasn’t an issue. If I had one wish: since I’m not fond of lukewarm water, I would have liked the heated tub to be larger. Meals were mainly simple countryside dishes, but everything was very delicious. Younger guests might find it a little light; in that case, I recommend ordering additional dishes. For us it was just the right amount—and we could get refills of rice—so we were very satisfied. Many of the staff were young, but they were always smiling and pleasant, with excellent attentiveness and consideration. This is an outstanding Accommodation that makes Japanese guests feel at ease—I hope it never changes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

From the moment you meet the shuttle bus driver, whose warm and pleasant service sets the tone, your enjoyable trip begins. This was our second stay, and just like last time, we truly appreciated the heartfelt hospitality. Last time we arrived late and missed out on the pancakes, but this time we were able to enjoy them fully and were very satisfied. We choose this property for its rare teppanyaki dinner option, and every time we are delighted with the meal. This visit also made for a wonderful birthday celebration. We hope you will continue to provide the same thoughtful and creative hospitality in the future.

While looking for a place to stay in the Izu area, we happened to learn that this property is used as a filming location for a drama my husband loves, so we booked it. It was our first time visiting Shuzenji Onsen. Because the hotel strongly highlights its connection to the drama, I initially wondered if it might be a bit of a “fan-oriented” place. In reality, once we arrived, we found thoughtful hospitality throughout—not only in the facilities and atmosphere, but also in the service—so we could truly relax with peace of mind. What impressed me most were the small touches everywhere on the property. Not only were little inconveniences—things you often wish other inns or hotels would improve—quietly resolved, but there were also many ideas that made me think, “So this is how it could be even more comfortable,” even for things I hadn’t considered inconvenient before. Nothing felt over-the-top, yet every detail seemed to come from carefully considering guests’ movements and feelings. I believe that accumulation of thoughtful touches is what makes the entire stay so comfortable. Even the amenities and in-room items felt carefully selected one by one; it was clear they had thoroughly thought through how guests can spend their time pleasantly. The service also left a strong impression. The staff member who looked after us was relatively young—polite yet pleasantly friendly and approachable—and our conversations were enjoyable, which naturally helped us unwind. We also felt genuine warmth from all staff members and their desire for guests to have a wonderful stay. The heartfelt hospitality—attentive without being overly formal—was exactly what suited us. The food was excellent as well. The presentation and tableware had a playful touch, and there were pleasant surprises in both ingredient pairings and how dishes were served; we enjoyed each course with fresh anticipation right through to the end. It was clear that no corners were cut even at breakfast, making for an extremely satisfying stay. Perhaps because it was just before a holiday weekend, we had the large public bath almost entirely to ourselves and could enjoy the hot springs at leisure. The garden was beautiful too—I can easily imagine reservations becoming highly competitive during autumn foliage season. We usually visit Hakone more often, but extending our trip by about another hour brought us here—and compared with Hakone’s prices, we were amazed that such an indulgent experience could be enjoyed at far more accessible rates. It was a wonderful property that made us want to return in another season.

The meals were beautifully presented, and everything tasted truly delicious. They were a delight to look at as well, and you could feel the care put into each dish. The Room was also thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to spend our time comfortably. The staff kindly answered our questions, which helped us learn about the origins of Kaminoyama Onsen and plan our sightseeing. My spouse loved it too and said we would like to stay again for the meals. We had a relaxing, comfortable stay and it was a wonderful time.
