We booked Kamenoi Bessou to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. They kindly prepared celebratory sekihan (red rice) for us, which made us very happy. We were able to relax and unwind in our room and enjoy the open-air bath at a leisurely pace. The shuttle service to the station was a great help. It is a wonderful inn in every way. The meals and the thoughtful hospitality of the staff were excellent, and we even received a commemorative chopstick rest when we checked out. It’s an inn that makes you want to come back again.

Located by the harbor, the detached guest Room was quiet and relaxing. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable. The cuisine was excellent and truly enjoyable, starting with deep-fried tuna collar. We could also feel the staff’s attentiveness, and we had a pleasant stay.

The Room design—especially the toilet layout and its combination with the washroom—was fantastic and I really loved it. The material of the in-room bath (I forgot the name) was made from very high-quality wood, and the wood fragrance was wonderful. Beer, ice pops, and water were all free, which was excellent service. The large public bath in the main building was also spacious and free to use—overall, it was simply great.

The private room came with an open-air bath fed directly from the hot spring source and was in a detached building, so we were able to relax very comfortably. Dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish and was absolutely delicious. The portions were quite generous, and we were very satisfied. Breakfast also included dessert, which was a lovely touch! Even without that, this Accommodation would have been more than enough, but what stood out most was the service. All of the staff were thoughtful and attentive, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. When we were leaving, we declined the send-off, but right after stepping outside we got lost. Even then, it seemed they had been keeping an eye on us from behind and kindly asked us, “Where are you headed?” We received warm hospitality until the very end, making for a truly satisfying stay. Thank you so much! We’re looking forward to staying again!

Last time, we arrived after visiting other sightseeing spots and felt a bit rushed, so we made this reservation hoping to relax properly this time. Fortunately, we were blessed with great weather and truly enjoyed not only the dinner course, but also the sunset and breakfast on the balcony. Based on photos from our previous stay, my daughter created a printmaking piece, and I came wearing a T-shirt printed with it—so I was happy to be able to show it to everyone. I’m writing to let you know that the dishes we ordered through “Let’s Eat at Home Today!” arrived safely today. We’ll enjoy them while reminiscing about our stay. This was our second stay, and it was a wonderful Room where we could enjoy an open-air rock bath while looking out at the beautiful garden (with an indoor bath as well). Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and my elderly mother was very satisfied. The service was excellent, and we truly appreciate all your help.

Both the Room and the entire Accommodation were clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Onsen warmed us through to the core and helped relieve our travel fatigue. The meals were a delight both visually and in taste, and the steak in particular was outstanding. We had no contact with other guests, making it a quiet, relaxing space. Conversations with the staff were also pleasant, and we were very satisfied. We would love to visit again in a different season.

The staff’s attentive hospitality and thoughtful care were truly wonderful, and I was able to spend a very comfortable stay from check-in to check-out. The interior of the property and the room features a calm Japanese-modern design in greige tones, with impeccable taste in decor. It was exactly my kind of style, so I found myself simply gazing around and feeling soothed. The rooftop lounge offered an abundant selection of juices, alcoholic drinks, coffee, Atami’s famous sweets, and light snacks. I couldn’t believe I could choose so freely—can I really have any of these?—and I got genuinely excited. Sipping drinks, enjoying sweets, soaking in the foot bath… it was such a luxurious time taking in the views of Atami. The staff also maintained the perfect level of attentiveness—providing towels to dry our feet and preparing drinks—so considerate in every way. I’m truly grateful. What especially impressed me was the full-course dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented—not only a feast for the eyes—but also had deep flavors with sauces crafted down to the finest detail. I was genuinely moved. Even now, looking back at my photos brings back that lingering feeling: how beautiful it was and how delicious everything tasted. Everything—the room, the meals, and the hospitality—was perfect. It was a place where I could truly refresh from the heart. I feel fully recharged; I’ll do my best day by day and hope to return again someday. Thank you very much.

I had been struggling with light sleep and not feeling well-rested for quite some time, when I happened to see the words “sleep therapy” on IKYU and decided to book immediately. Services like this are often available for only one guest, so it was wonderful that both of us could receive the treatment at the same time. My husband was also very pleased. The Room lighting, Onsen temperature, and bedding were all thoughtfully arranged as well, and thanks to that, we both slept soundly through the night. From the welcome sweets onward, both dinner and breakfast were delicious. However, it was a little disappointing that the Tajima beef was served on a hot plate rather than charcoal-grilled. With a hot plate, you don’t really get the benefits of charcoal grilling, so it felt like some of the flavor was lost. The staff were full of hospitality and absolutely wonderful. It was our first visit to Yumura Onsen, but we loved its charming atmosphere and sense of tradition, so we definitely want to return. When we do, we would of course like to book a Plan that includes the sleep therapy again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

The room was spotless, and the amenities were excellent—just what you’d expect from the long-established Hotel New Grand. For breakfast, I considered room service but went to the restaurant for the Monte Cristo sandwich. The incredibly fluffy French toast and the savory bacon-and-cheese saltiness were outstanding. The tomato juice served with what was probably a domestically grown, unwaxed lemon was also superb. I’ll definitely be back!

We stayed here on our family’s first trip to Hokuriku. The room, hot spring, meals, and staff were all wonderful, and our whole family was very satisfied. As the one who planned the schedule and chose the accommodation, I was truly happy to see everyone enjoy it so much. We would definitely love to stay again.

This was our family’s third stay. Thank you again for taking such great care of us. As always, the property was very clean and we had a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the complimentary drink bar, which we could use freely; the selection changes between morning and evening, so there was plenty to choose from and we could relax and enjoy it. At dinner, we were surprised by how large the abalone was, and we truly enjoyed such a luxurious meal. Our whole family had a wonderful time again, and we were very satisfied. It was my parents’ first long-distance trip in a while, and they were delighted with the lounge upon arrival, enjoying alcohol and desserts. They remained in great spirits thanks to the thoughtful hospitality throughout our stay. At dinner, every dish was delicious, and even I—usually a light eater—found myself eating more than usual. After enjoying the spacious Onsen, we had a wonderful time chatting in the nostalgic Kiku Room while looking out at the garden. Thank you for such a lovely time. A tranquil setting where you can almost hear the “sounds of the forest.” I felt this inn is thoughtfully designed so guests can fully enjoy an extraordinary escape. The staff were warm throughout, and I had a very comfortable stay. The squirrel-themed, story-style dining menu was a fun and creative touch. As a personal suggestion, I’d also love to try a menu presented as an introduction to Yamagata’s local products and history (from an out-of-prefecture guest).

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The sashimi came with daikon carved into a crane, and there was also sekihan (red rice). Everything looked beautiful and tasted great, leaving both our stomachs and hearts full. All of the staff were wonderful and very considerate, which made our time here truly enjoyable. We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The meals were truly delicious, and I was especially happy to see my mother—who usually eats lightly—enjoy so much. Even while you were busy serving, you were very attentive, and when we shared how impressed we were with the dishes, you kindly explained the ideas and techniques behind them. It made for a wonderful time. We felt refreshed by the pleasant Onsen and your thoughtful hospitality. My mother is already excited to come back next time with her friends. The Room was spacious and well equipped with amenities—truly a first-class Hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and very satisfying. Perks included complimentary drinks in the refrigerator and access to the lounge. Late check-out was extended from 11:00 to 12:00, so we were able to relax and take our time. We stayed as a family, and it was comfortable from start to finish! The building feels a bit traditional, but the inside is bright, and we could sense thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, which made it very relaxing. All the staff were pleasant, and the cleaning throughout the property was thorough. We wanted to play at the beach and also watch the sunset, so we worried about meal times—but it turned out to be unnecessary. While we were out, they prepared our in-room dinner, and for sashimi—where freshness is everything—they served it after we returned. When an announcement about the sunset played over the PA system during dinner, a staff member came by to turn off the grill so we could take our time watching from the rooftop bench. (You can also see it from your Room, but the view is better from the rooftop. To get there, you need to go up one flight of stairs.) At dinner we also enjoyed dancing grilled live abalone. (One didn’t move even after lighting it; when we mentioned it, they replaced it immediately, so we could eat with peace of mind.) I thought just the standard course might not be enough, but it was plenty. The bath was great because we had it all to ourselves. We also appreciated the lounge coffee and post-bath ice cream. Breakfast was filling and delicious as well. Overall, this Accommodation exceeded our expectations. There were many stylish places nearby and we debated where to stay, but I’m glad we chose Kaishu.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. Both the staff member who guided us at check-in and the person in charge of dinner struck the perfect balance—warm, attentive, and sincerely welcoming—so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. We splurged on the Tajima beef kaiseki. There were no vacancies for a second-floor Room, so we were a little worried about dining in the restaurant, but it turned out to be a completely private room and felt very special. We were also happy that the menu had our new last name and the date printed on it, so we took it home as a keepsake. *Sound does carry quite a bit, so when the guests next door spoke loudly at times, their conversation drowned ours out (in a funny way). More than satisfied. We were absolutely stuffed. I was looking forward to late-night soba, but there was no room left—if anything, we went back to our Room and fell asleep right away. Such a shame. Both dinner and breakfast offered choices, which added an extra special touch and made us very happy. The rice at breakfast was so good—I couldn’t finish it all and wished I could have made onigiri… It had been ages since I slept on a futon mattress, so I was nervous, but there was a mattress underneath and it felt just like sleeping in a bed. And the amenities were Sekkisei… In the women’s large public bath there was also an assortment of shampoos to choose from—even ReFa shampoo was available. I usually bring my own because I worry whether provided products will suit my skin or hair, but this time I didn’t need any skincare at all… which almost made me regret packing mine. This Accommodation left us with “the best kind of regret”—the kind that makes you want to come back. Next time we’re celebrating an anniversary or another special occasion, we’d love to upgrade to a higher-grade Room. Thank you again—we hope to return.
