This was my third stay. I visited twice before in May, and this time I came for the first time in autumn. Last time I was deeply moved, thinking, “What an incredible Accommodation,” and on this visit that feeling only grew stronger. A sense of unhurried calm and quiet fills the entire property. The Japanese paintings and seasonal tea flowers displayed along the corridors are beautiful, and tasteful touches can be felt everywhere. The Room is spacious and impeccably clean, and even the furnishings reflect the owner’s refined aesthetic and excellent taste. I was especially captivated by the small sewing kit, letter box, and other thoughtfully placed items—each one quietly charming. Rather than emphasizing luxury outright, I believe this Accommodation’s greatest appeal lies in how much care is devoted to every detail. I originally found this place while looking for an Accommodation where I could truly enjoy the cuisine, but even among similarly priced culinary Ryokan featured on IKYU.com, the food here feels a level—or two—above. Not only are the dishes crafted around seasonal ingredients; everything is outstanding: the choice of tableware, presentation, and even the dashi in each soup bowl. There is no end to what I could write—every single dish moved me. The staff member who introduced each course (perhaps the young proprietress) was also wonderful. It wasn’t just an explanation of what we were eating; it naturally stirred our imagination, anticipation, and appetite even before we began. This too felt like hospitality unique to Toryukan. This time as well, I traveled with my elderly parents. Each trip with them carries a quiet thought that it may be our last together someday, so we cherish every moment we can share. We were truly grateful for how warmly all of your staff treated us—it remains deeply in my heart. Thanks to you all, we once again spent a wonderful time together as a family and created unforgettable memories. I feel Toryukan is not simply an Accommodation where you stay overnight to rest—it is a place that lets you savor time itself as it flows there. Beautiful surroundings, exceptional cuisine, a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, warm hospitality. We would love to return again to enjoy each season’s beauty—and its cuisine. Thank you very much again for everything. We are sincerely grateful for the wonderful time and memories you gave us.

The Accommodation itself is compact, but the detached annex is impressive and offers plenty of space. The meals were distinctive yet delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared.

The Room was spacious, easy to use, and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. I was traveling home, so it helped me recover from the fatigue. The Room amenities were minimal. I thought it would be nice to have cotton pads or cotton swabs, but they weren’t really necessary. The meals weren’t flashy, but they were pleasantly tasty. It was a great-value stay. Thank you very much for taking such wonderful care of us. We were able to fully enjoy the outstanding quality of the Onsen at Tamago-yu. The milky white sulfur spring felt surprisingly gentle—hard to believe it is strongly acidic—and wrapped our bodies softly. It was a truly special Onsen that made us want to soak again and again. We felt that being able to enjoy such wonderful baths so comfortably is thanks to everyone who carefully cleans and manages the Accommodation each day. All the staff I interacted with (front desk, restaurant, and gift shop) had a great atmosphere—and their service was excellent as well. The food was delicious, and the all-you-can-drink plan included Sapporo beer. The Onsen was a comfortable size, and thanks to renovations a few years ago, the Room didn’t feel outdated at all. If I have the chance, I’d love to come again and stay here again.

We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The meals were truly delicious, and I was especially happy to see my mother—who usually eats lightly—enjoy so much. Even while you were busy serving, you were very attentive, and when we shared how impressed we were with the dishes, you kindly explained the ideas and techniques behind them. It made for a wonderful time. We felt refreshed by the pleasant Onsen and your thoughtful hospitality. My mother is already excited to come back next time with her friends. I chose the Onuma Prince Hotel for my friend visiting from afar. They were delighted, saying they could relax, fully enjoy the Onsen, and sleep well—it was wonderful. I’m grateful for the staff’s warm smiles and kind service.

The necessary amenities were prepared in the room, which was reassuring. The location, twin room, service, Onsen, and breakfast were all comfortable at this Hotel. During our 4-night trip to Eastern Hokkaido, this was the most comfortable stay.

The view from the open-air bath is amazing. I was able to relax in the free-flowing Onsen. The meals were very delicious and satisfying. Since each dish is served individually, I could enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace. I was curious about something that looked like a red bridge in the distance from the dining area, but it seems to be part of an airport facility. The Room is spacious and comes with a massage chair and an open-air pot bath, which also made me very satisfied. There are many Reviews saying the building is old, but does that cause any inconvenience? It didn’t bother me at all. The staff were very kind and soothing. Please let me stay again.

This was my second stay. I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that I’m so glad I found Haccho-no-Yu. Thank you always for your heartfelt hospitality. The baths and the Room are wonderful, but above all, the cuisine is exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed the many creative dishes prepared by the head chef—they were absolutely delicious. We stayed here to celebrate my father-in-law’s 77th birthday. We brought three little kids with us, and they were thrilled with both the pool and the baths—they went in three times with the adults! The meals were also delicious, and we really got to enjoy Awaji Island. We were very satisfied. Next time, we’d like to visit in winter when fugu is at its best. We had so much fun that I don’t feel like going back to work…

This time, I stayed in a Japanese-style Room. The view from the Room was great, and I was able to relax—I was extremely satisfied. I used it for a business trip this time, but next time I’d like to stay here again for a family trip. The bath and sauna were both clean and relaxing, and the breakfast was delicious!

I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days on a solo travel Plan, combining it with work. The best part was the meals. The sashimi and the Western-style dishes the next day were wonderfully varied, and I was very satisfied. I was also very pleased with the staff’s attentiveness. However, due to my work needs, I preferred a Room with an additional separate space, and I truly appreciated that you kindly accommodated my request by changing it for an additional fee. I think this is a very good Hotel. I will stay again. Thank you.

We stayed in one of the few Rooms with a private open-air Onsen bath. The interior was very stylish and lovely! Because it’s not a large Facility, we rarely ran into other guests. The staff were also very friendly and made us feel at home. The meals were more than satisfying for us as a couple, and hot dishes were served at just the right time so they wouldn’t cool down. We’ve visited many Onsens, but the milky Onsen here felt so wonderful that we’d love to soak in it again. We were truly impressed to have found such an excellent Accommodation where we could fully enjoy the Onsen!

Thank you for taking care of us during the typhoon and heavy rain. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful, and I was especially moved by the homemade chestnut soup prepared by the proprietress. I only wished there had been a shower in the open-air bath that is available 24 hours a day. I would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

This is a small hotel located in the suburbs of Matsuyama, but the Rooms are spacious, and having a private in-room Onsen bath in every Room is a great feature. Dinner seemed to be catered, but it was very delicious. It would be even better if the all-you-can-drink alcohol selection included a few more options, such as draft beer.

I enjoyed soaking in Zao Onsen’s strongly acidic, milky-white water with a distinct sulfur scent—this is what an Onsen should be like. Since it’s an old building, there are countless flaws if you start pointing them out, so I stayed while telling myself that’s just how it is. The staff work hard, but not at a level that truly impresses. The meals featured many local specialties and were good, but the rice—the most important part—was too firm at dinner and far too soft at breakfast. This Accommodation is recommended for those who love Onsen.

This was the final Accommodation of my first trip to Niigata, a 3-night, 4-day journey. Our Room was the 2nd-floor Western-style twin [Marronnier]. The bathroom, with a separate toilet, was very convenient and made our mother-and-daughter trip extremely comfortable. The closet was spacious, and there were plenty of hangers. Just before check-in there are shoe lockers, and you can walk around the building barefoot or in socks. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the Room and along the corridors, you can enjoy views of wine grapes vineyards and the mountain range stretching from Mt. Yahiko. I visited looking forward to Vinespa’s aroma hot stone sauna, but I was told it is no longer available after renovations—such a shame. Still, the open-air baths placed throughout the garden offered wonderful scenery, and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking both after dinner and before breakfast. Restaurant Cave d’Occi is beyond a European-style garden that is carefully maintained by gardeners. The April menu—beautifully presented and truly delicious—featured local ingredients (hairy crab, celeriac root celery), spear squid), wild boar meat), flounder), roast beef smoked with branches from wine grapes vines), etc.) without feeling overdone). At the winery shop, I had my favorite Zweigeltrebe and unoaked Chardonnay shipped home). The next morning’s Japanese breakfast surprised me—in a great way: zaru tofu with olive oil was delicious!! At checkout time) pizza toast) grape juice) at the library café tasted so good it made leaving hard). It’s an Accommodation that made me genuinely envy those who live nearby).

This was my first visit to Nozawa Onsen, and our stay—including at this Accommodation—was truly wonderful. In addition to visiting the public baths, we also enjoyed the bath here; it uses water from the Oyu source and was adjusted to a comfortable temperature, making it very relaxing. We ate dinner out on the first night and at the Accommodation on the second night, and both meals were delicious, making great use of local ingredients. We had breakfast on both days as well; the menu changed each day, and everything was thoughtfully prepared with local produce. The rice and miso soup were especially outstanding—so good that I even wished I’d eaten fewer side dishes just to enjoy more rice. The building has a sense of history, but it is carefully maintained. The staff were consistently courteous and attentive, so we felt comfortable throughout our stay. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.
