I stayed here for the first time because they offered a Plan where the fish you catch at the fishing pond is served at dinner. I’ve stayed in Shirahama Onsen several times, but there aren’t many places that will cook your catch, so I really appreciated this Plan. Their coordination with the fishing pond was excellent—when we arrived, the application form was already prepared, and we could start fishing right away without bringing anything. They also packed our fish in a foam cooler with ice, and we checked in to the Hotel as-is. At dinner, two of the three fish we caught were prepared as sashimi and fried chicken-style, and we were able to take the remaining one home (thank you very much to the head chef). Our Room was No. 603 on the Royal Floor, with Shirarahama Beach right in front—an unbeatable location. The Room had a table with four chairs plus a sofa, and it was spacious and comfortable. My wife also said the washroom area was large, bright, and easy to use. For those going swimming in the sea, you can go straight from the Hotel out to Shirarahama Beach, so it seems ideal for families with children as well. The Onsen also had an open-air bath; it was spacious with great water quality, and we could relax while looking out over Shirarahama Beach (in the morning it switches to the first floor bathhouse, so there’s no view). Dinner was served in a private room and everything was delicious (if I had to say one thing, the sukiyaki beef wasn’t quite as good), and having our freshly caught fish on top of that made us more than satisfied. For breakfast we chose the buffet; there were plenty of options including Wakayama ramen, which was great. One example of their attentive service: when I almost forgot to pick up our fish to take home at checkout, someone at reception noticed and helped us bring it back safely. If I have another chance, I’d like to stay again with this fishing-pond Plan.

This was my fourth stay. Although it was still early September—far from autumn—I was looking for a place where I could truly relax and enjoy delicious food. After searching around, I ended up coming back to Yuzuriha again. With only a small number of guest Rooms, it never feels crowded no matter when I visit. Check-in and check-out are handled calmly and unhurriedly, and above all, the staff’s kind service and warm smiles are so soothing. The building isn’t brand-new, but everything is spotless down to the smallest details. Every Room faces Ena Gorge, so there’s no sense of confinement—and even though I know what to expect each time, I still can’t help letting out a “wow” every time I open the door. I travel from Nagoya, and it’s easy to get here even without a car since you can use Meitetsu, JR, and buses. On the way back, if you use the Hotel’s Shuttle Service bus, you’ll arrive at Ena-shi Station in no time—so as long as you know the departure time, it’s completely stress-free. Even though I know how beautiful and delicious the meals will be every time, each dish that arrives still makes me sigh with admiration. The portions are generous enough to fully satisfy even men with big appetites. The chef’s careful and delicate work never lets up—all the way through dessert. The Onsen water has a slightly silky feel, and even after getting out of the bath my skin stays smooth for a long time. I’ve seen some Reviews saying it feels “light,” but for me it’s more than enough. The water isn’t too hot either; being able to soak for a long time while listening to birds and insects is wonderfully comfortable—I think it’s just the right balance. Honestly, it’s such a wonderful Accommodation that part of me wants to keep it secret—but because I want this level of satisfaction to continue in the future as well, I wrote this Review hoping that people who haven’t been here yet will experience it too. This is not an exaggeration: at this price point, Yuzuriha never disappoints. I’ll be back again—thank you in advance. P.S. They do their best to accommodate requests whenever possible, so if there’s anything on your mind, it may be worth asking them about it. Thank you always for providing such lovely Rooms. Thank you for taking care of us during our summer vacation. Because my husband’s back was not in good condition, you kindly prepared an extra chair for him, and we truly appreciated your thoughtfulness. The creative cuisine was delicious—especially the abalone dish, which was outstanding. The Room was clean, and the Onsen temperature was just right. It was very quiet and relaxing. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

This was our first stay as a family of four. Since we were all exhausted from the extreme heat, we truly appreciated being able to enjoy a welcome drink in the air-conditioned lounge after check-in. We stayed in a wonderful Room on the top floor with ocean views and a view of Mt. Fuji, and our whole family was impressed. The Hotel was very clean, and everything—from the attentive service and luxurious meals to the spacious, relaxing baths, the open-air bath with a view of Mt. Fuji, and the cold tea and ice cream after bathing—was excellent, making it an exceptionally comfortable stay. We also joined the summer bingo event and had fun enjoying the festive atmosphere. After check-in, you also took our family commemorative photo promptly at the entrance—thank you very much. We would love to stay again as a family!

All of the staff were truly dedicated to hospitality. Especially at dinner, we enjoyed delicious seafood dishes, and above all, an 80-year-old grandmother warmly welcomed us with a kind smile and friendly words, explaining the dishes and how to eat them. We could really feel her heartfelt wish for us to relax and enjoy our meal at our own pace. When we thanked her after dinner, she was modest yet clearly very happy. I hope she stays well for a long time. The sea is right in front of you, and when you open the window you can hear the soothing sound of the waves. We took a walk along the breakwater just steps from the Hotel, and when we looked back at the full view of it, we realized it is built right on the edge of a coastal cliff—an outstanding location. Since this trip used an “Adult Holiday Club” pass, it was also very helpful that we could use the Shuttle Service to and from the station. At this one-and-only Hotel in Tanohata Village, Iwate Prefecture, we had a warm and memorable trip that delighted both body and mind. Thank you very much.

Both the Room and the staff member who assisted us were wonderful, and we were able to truly relax. As I casually looked out from the Japanese-style Room at the beautiful garden, a large grey heron was resting its wings by the waterfall. It was my first time observing one from so close, and I was thrilled. The thoughtfully prepared cuisine is always delicious, and this time again every dish was deeply impressive. Staying in a detached guesthouse felt perfect just being there, but I went out to make sure not to miss the live music in the lobby—and it turned into another wonderfully romantic moment. As often as time and budget allow, I would love to return again and again to unwind. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A typhoon was approaching and the weather looked rainy, but it didn’t rain much, and we were able to see a wonderful sunset from the restaurant. The view from the large public bath was also amazing. The meals, made with ingredients from Wakayama, were all delicious. It was disappointing that we couldn’t watch Netflix or Amazon Prime in the room (the internet didn’t seem to connect) and that the shuttle bus service has been discontinued, but everything else was great. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

From the open-air bath on the balcony, we could see the ocean and relax while listening to the sound of the waves. The Onsen water felt silky and pleasant, and it left my skin looking great. My husband, who used to dislike Onsen, ended up loving it. The portions at dinner and breakfast were so large that it was overwhelming—though it might be perfect for big eaters.

Perhaps because there was availability on a weekday, they upgraded us to a larger Room. We were very satisfied with the open, airy Room and the mountain views from the large windows in our corner Room. The meals were all delicious, with plenty of dishes, and we left completely full. It was our first time trying venison—it was tender and excellent. The bath and the entire property were clean and very pleasant.

The Facility is a bit old, but it was very clean and extremely comfortable. The meals were standard, but the content and portions were just right for an elderly couple; everything was delicious and we finished it all. The bath was clean with a great view. The open-air bath in particular was a cypress bath with an excellent view, and it was wonderful. If we have the opportunity, we would definitely like to stay again.

The Accommodation has a nostalgic, retro feel while still being very stylish and lovely. This time we stayed in the “Japanese Twin with Terrace” Room—tatami flooring, low beds, and a deck terrace. What impressed me most was how comfortable the bed was! I was told it’s a Nishikawa Muatsu mattress, and it truly felt amazing—I slept unbelievably well. The pillow was also excellent, and I completely fell in love with the bedding. I’d like to use the same one at home, so I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which type of Muatsu it is. The Onsen was wonderful as well. All three private baths had their own unique charm and were beautiful. The large public bath was also very relaxing—I ended up going in many times during our stay. As soon as you soak in the Onsen, your body warms up right away. The water feels soft, and your skin becomes moisturized and silky smooth. I also loved that bath towels were provided at the baths, so you can always use a clean one. Truly excellent therapeutic bathing. Unfortunately it rained this time—but because of that, we were able to take our time at the Accommodation, soak in the Onsen slowly, and enjoy doing nothing. We chose a Plan with 12:00 checkout, so we didn’t have to rush in the morning and could enjoy the Onsen until the very end. And then—the meals. Absolutely no complaints. Each dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It was a meal where you can truly enjoy every course for what it is. And something I’ll never forget: draft Yebisu beer! After it arrived, the foam gradually rose up into a rich head—it looked delicious even before tasting. And when I tried it… it really was incredible. I honestly thought there aren’t many places where draft beer tastes this good—it moved me. This “Joshu Beef & Gunma’s Blessings / Three Free Private Open-Air Baths / 12:00 Checkout / A Nostalgic Holiday” Plan was absolutely perfect for me. Shima Onsen in the rain is wonderful too. Soak in the Onsen, eat well, drink well—and sleep incredibly well. In this charming retro Accommodation, I had an amazing time that relaxed both my mind and body. All of the staff were pleasant as well, and the overall atmosphere throughout the Accommodation felt very comfortable. We felt great from start to finish during our stay. The Onsen, meals, bedding—and above all else—the warm hospitality from everyone on staff. Everything felt so comfortable that this is an Accommodation I definitely want to stay at again.

The Facility is not new, but it is well cleaned and I am satisfied. It’s not a complaint, but the dinner portions were too large... Personally, if you are using locally sourced ingredients, I feel you should promote that more actively.

I don’t usually post Reviews, but our stay was truly wonderful, so I wanted to leave a comment. We stayed for one night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. From the pleasant service at the front desk, to the Onsen amenities, and the afternoon tea served in our Room, we felt warm hospitality everywhere—an earnest desire to delight guests throughout our stay. The building itself is historic, but it is impeccably cleaned and well maintained down to every detail, and you can really sense how much the staff cherish this Hotel. In addition to the breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea from the expansive grounds, we enjoyed strolling through the fields and lawns and searching for art objects—simply being on the property made us feel enriched and refreshed. And the birthday cake prepared for our celebration was unbelievably delicious—we were genuinely impressed! It may have been the best birthday cake I’ve ever had. My husband was thrilled as well and said he wants to come back again next year. We’re so glad we chose this Hotel—it became a perfect memory. Thank you very much.

Being able to enjoy a variety of alcoholic drinks during dinner was amazing! I was especially happy to have a Nagisa Beer server. The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I also appreciated the free massage chair. There are many stairs to the large public bath, and even more to the panoramic open-air bath. It might be tough for elderly guests. However, the view and the hot spring water are wonderful, so I definitely recommend going.

We visited for a summer vacation with my partner and to celebrate an early birthday. Compared with other Hotels in the same price range, we truly enjoyed an exceptional resort experience. We stayed in a Room with a private pool, and the Room was thoroughly cleaned down to every detail. In the spacious, spotless space, we were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful time thanks to the kind attentiveness of all the staff. Although there were a few minor issues due to recent typhoon operations, you responded flexibly and promptly. There were no problems during our stay—thank you very much for your thoughtful support. The day before coming to this Hotel, we stayed at another Marriott-affiliated property with a lion logo, but compared to that one, we were extremely satisfied with everything here—service, Facility, and meals! We will definitely visit again within a year!! Thank you for such a wonderful summer vacation.

By chance, I was able to make a Reservation for Suite Room 401 and stayed on September 6. The Room was absolutely gorgeous! It was so spacious it felt like too much for just two people. The TV had Amazon Prime available, and we relaxed while watching the movie “National Treasure.” The food was also excellent!! At the dinner buffet, everything—Japanese, Western, and Chinese—was delicious, with so many options that we couldn’t try them all. The all-you-can-eat salmon roe was especially satisfying.

The service was excellent, and the meals were delicious. One of Okawaso’s highlights—the shamisen performance—was very soothing, and there was also a comfortable place to sit and enjoy it at a relaxed pace, making it a wonderful memory. The staff were all welcoming with lovely smiles, and their guidance was clear and easy to follow.

We stayed here to enjoy swimming at Shirarahama Beach. Before check-in, they let us use the changing room and paid lockers, and we reached Shirarahama Beach in just a few minutes on foot. They also have an air pump for float rings, of course. After swimming, we could rinse off the sand with the outdoor warm-water shower and then head straight to the Onsen, which was great. Both the Room and the Facility were clean, and there were free drinks available throughout the property—we enjoyed them after bathing and while waiting for the elevator. The plum soda was delicious. The buffet had a wide variety of options and everything was tasty. It was also nice that freshly cooked steak and tempura were brought directly to our table. Since our buffet time slot was later, we were able to go see the sunset at Engetsuto Island before dinner. Even after checkout, they offered parking for 1,000 yen, and told us we could use the paid lockers—and even use the baths after 2:00 PM—so it was wonderful to be able to enjoy an Onsen after coming back from the beach before heading home. If you’re going swimming at the beach, this place is absolutely “Musashi”! It was that good. All of the staff were kind, and it made for a truly great trip. Thank you very much.

One of my recent pleasures has been traveling during summer vacation with my daughter and grandchild. This year, we chose Kinosaki Marine World. The Accommodation was naturally Kinparo. For two days, we had unlimited entry and re-entry. That was very helpful. We enjoyed the attractions too—like the dolphin trainer experience—and had fun like kids again. Of course, my 6-year-old grandchild was thrilled as well. The meals and the Onsen were great. However, there is room for improvement in the children’s menu. Kids have sharp taste buds. Extra French fries would have been better. It’s similar everywhere, but meals for children are often disappointing. Other than that, everything was comfortable. All three generations had a wonderful time together.

The staff were very kind and helpful, which was great. The Facility feels a bit old, but it is kept very clean and well maintained, so I had a comfortable stay. If I have the opportunity again, I would definitely like to stay here.
