We have a large public bath, and also many private baths. The private baths do not require a Reservation—use them anytime if available! You can check availability via QR code, which is very convenient. The semi-open-air baths are especially exciting. Baby amenities are also provided, so families with children can use them with peace of mind.

On August 3, the annual Iyo-Ozu Hijikawa Fireworks Festival is held, so I made a Reservation for a Room with a close-up view of Ozu Castle. In the early evening, we finished dinner at the Hotel’s French restaurant “Le Un,” then returned to our cool, air-conditioned Room and waited excitedly for the fireworks to begin, sipping wine while admiring the illuminated Ozu Castle. Ozu is known as “Little Kyoto,” and in summer the basin heat and humidity linger even at night. But because of this terrain, the sound of the fireworks echoes off the surrounding mountains into a tremendous roar—more powerful than any fireworks I’ve ever experienced. This time I discovered a new style of Hotel created by renovating historic traditional houses scattered throughout Ozu, making it a truly meaningful summer trip.

This was my first stay, and both the view and the meals were excellent. The large public bath was a bit too hot for me, but I really enjoyed the massage chair. The Room was wonderful, so I made a Reservation for my next stay because I want to stay in the same Room again. I’m looking forward to it, and I hope to visit again soon.

This was my first visit in about six months. I’m always impressed by your thoughtful hospitality—attentive without being intrusive. You also took our previous stay into consideration and prepared a menu with plenty of variety. We hope to visit again this autumn.

To avoid the rainy season and bears, I took a solo trip to Okinawa. I chose HIRAMATSU because I had great stays at their Atami and Kyoto properties. I arranged the spa and a Shuttle Service taxi in advance—I'm glad I did. Although it was before the end of the rainy season, it was perfectly clear with strong sunshine and heat, so I spent most of my time reading in my Room, occasionally enjoying the beautiful view from there. (Only a few groups seemed to be enjoying the pool.) I really like how HIRAMATSU designs their Rooms—chic and very functional. Having sunscreen provided was a big help. For dinner, I chose a course with smaller portions, which was more than enough for me. I also requested wine pairing and enjoyed the colorful dishes. On the second morning, breakfast was Japanese-style, which I appreciated since that's what I'm used to at home. The tuna with grated yam was delicious. At the spa, I booked a facial and head spa—it was pure bliss. The atmosphere was quiet and calm, and I could truly relax. Thank you very much.

I love this Accommodation so much that I stay almost every month. This month, I stayed as a birthday treat for myself. I am always impressed by the wonderful hospitality from the front desk and dining staff. Thank you for celebrating my birthday and for the message card and celebratory plate! During my Kyushu trip in mid-June, I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay (2 nights) in the “Chikurintei—Panoramic Open-Air Bath (Japanese-Western Room)” nestled within Mifuneyama Rakuen’s vast grounds. I stayed in the “Yamazakura” Room, which offered views of Mt. Mifune from the corridor and garden, and even had a private gate with direct access to Mifuneyama Rakuen. The open-air bath is a standing-style bath set among trees. It creates a unique floating sensation, and because the water pressure is applied evenly over the whole body, I felt less fatigue afterward. Being able to enjoy the garden and sky while standing also adds to the wonderful sense of openness. The Onsen water is clear and colorless—an alkaline simple spring—with an exceptionally gentle feel on the skin, so I never tired of soaking. The indoor bath is heated groundwater, but I also enjoyed it: the hinoki tub was very comfortable, and it didn’t take long to fill. What stood out most was the outstanding quality of dinner. The kaiseki course featuring seasonal local ingredients such as Takezaki crab immediately draws you in with its dashi—clear yet deeply flavorful, beautifully balanced. Each dish reflected the season in both taste and presentation: refined and truly beautiful. Beyond ingredient quality alone, there was a confident simplicity backed by real skill. Even on a Multiple Night Stay, every meal was flawless at an exceptional level. Simply superb—thank you for such a feast. Another highlight was visiting teamLab’s art installations at the affiliated Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel on the same grounds (guests of Chikurintei can enter free). From the moment you step into the lobby, you’re struck by countless lamps evoking forest flowers and sunlight filtering through trees. The most breathtaking work was “Megalis in Ruins Bathhouse,” where digital projections of seasonal flowers illuminate massive stones rising throughout an abandoned public-bath space. When we visited, different scenes cycled continuously—twelve distinct visuals representing all months—and we became fully immersed for about an hour until they completed one full round late at night before closing. Also worth mentioning: the cold-brew coffee served in the lounge area was delicious—I refilled it many times and enjoyed it back in my Room as well. To everyone at “Oyado Chikurintei,” thank you sincerely for creating such a wonderful stay. I will absolutely return when I visit Takeo Onsen again.

Although I often stay in Kirishima Onsen, this was my first time in Hitoyoshi Onsen, so I chose a relatively new Accommodation. It turned out to be the perfect choice, and on the way home my companion and I kept saying, “We’re glad we picked this place.” First of all, the Facility itself is new and very well cleaned, so check-in felt comfortable and pleasant. Next, the baths: both the indoor bath and open-air bath are stone-built with deep tubs; the water was pleasantly hot and gentle on the skin—truly a “beauty bath” quality—and I was very satisfied. Meals were served for both breakfast and dinner using local ingredients in thoughtful detail; everything was delicious in just the right portions. When visiting Kumamoto I had been hoping for basashi (horse sashimi), but it wasn’t included in this Plan; it was available to order separately, so I enjoyed it that way. What helped us most was assistance with making Reservations for lunch the next day and for activity facilities, as well as answering detailed questions. They kindly accommodated our requests—such as “I want to eat seasonal salt-grilled ayu” and “I’d like to try pottery on a wheel”—all with a smile. Thank you also for seeing us off even in light rain without opening an umbrella. The salt-grilled ayu at the restaurant you recommended was excellent, and we each made pottery pieces (a plate, a bowl, and a beer glass). After firing them in the kiln, they will be glazed in our requested colors that same day and then shipped to our home once finished—we’re looking forward to receiving them. I would love to visit again; however, there is one disappointing point: there is only one Room type available for stays of two or more people, so I would appreciate more options. The staff service, the comfort of the Room, the high-quality meals, and the convenient location—not too far from the station with a convenience store nearby—always make for a fulfilling holiday. The elevator also shows the next floor it will stop at, offering a small but thoughtful touch.

This Accommodation was the final stop on our 3-night, 4-day summer trip through Okayama, Tottori, and Shimane, and it was truly a wonderful place to end our journey. Check-in was very courteous and smooth, and I was surprised—in a good way—that an attendant escorted us to our Room while explaining the building along the way, which is rare these days. They also carefully explained everything in the Room, and I was impressed by the traditional level of hospitality. The Room had great taste, and the open-air bath in the Room was free-flowing Onsen water. It was a bit hot, but adding some water quickly made it comfortable enough to enter, so we enjoyed it many times during our stay. With Rooms that have an open-air Onsen bath, insects often get into either the bath or the Room, but for some reason we had no such issues here and were comfortable throughout. Dinner was served in a private room; the attendant’s explanations were thorough, and everything tasted excellent. The final dish seemed especially delicious—my husband and son even asked for seconds. Breakfast was buffet-style. We went at a later time close to last order, but we were not rushed at all and could enjoy our meal comfortably until the end. We chose late check-out as well. Although there were hardly any other guests around at that time (at other Hotels with late check-out there are usually few staff members left and no send-off), they continued to assist us until departure—taking photos for us and seeing us off properly—which felt like outstanding service. In addition, there were foot reflexology massages as well as foot baths, hand baths, and even face baths. Our Plan also included lounge access—all of which we enjoyed. It is rare to find such a large Ryokan (Hotel) with excellent Facility offerings, ample staffing levels, great service, plus wonderful meals and Onsen. It really shows their dedication. We had a very satisfying stay. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

I stayed with my puppy. This is the Hotel my previous dog loved. I had decided that our first overnight stay would be at this Hotel. It has been over a year since my previous dog passed away, and it was probably more than two years since our last stay. Even though it had been quite some time, thank you for your kind thoughtfulness toward my previous dog. You even prepared an offering meal for him (there was a small mistake in the kanji, but that just made us smile). At checkout, you also gave us an offering as well. I was so moved that I couldn’t stop crying. In fact, during our second stay with the puppy last month there was a small mix-up; when I wrote about it in a Review, you responded immediately and I truly appreciated it. I feel embarrassed that I quickly wrote a Review about my complaint, yet delayed writing this thank-you Review for what you did for my previous dog. I am very sorry. The hospitality and Facilities—everything—are wonderful at this Hotel. We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

At check-in, we were told our Room had been upgraded—what a wonderful surprise. Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy an even more relaxing stay than usual. Also, my husband accidentally left something behind, and you contacted us promptly before he even noticed. We are truly grateful for your kind help and support.

We stayed for two nights during the Obon holiday period in August. From our email exchanges before arrival, we already felt this was a very attentive Accommodation, and our stay fully lived up to that impression. The Accommodation has the charm of a traditional Japanese Ryokan, yet it never feels outdated—rather, it offers an elegant and calming atmosphere. What impressed us most was how impeccably clean everything was wherever we went. Even in shared areas such as the lobby, the large public bath, and the massage area, we didn’t notice any dust or litter at all. Needless to say, the Room was also cleaned with great care, including the private open-air bath attached to it. The Onsen water temperature in our Room was just right, allowing us to soak and relax comfortably; even after bathing we stayed pleasantly warm, and we felt it was truly high-quality Onsen water. We only used the large public bath once or twice because it felt a bit shallow for us, but both the washing area and changing room were spacious and very comfortable to use. The private bath was also excellent; however, the only issue was that the tub surface inside was extremely slippery—I nearly slipped and fell. I later noticed there was a warning sign, but it might have been helpful if someone had mentioned this in advance. What made us happiest about both the large public bath and private baths was that towels (both sizes) and amenities were all provided there. These days many places ask guests to bring towels from their Room to shared baths (or private baths), which is always inconvenient and frustrating. Here, towels were available at every bathing area—and there were plenty of towels in the Room as well—so we could enjoy bathing very comfortably. The only Facility/amenity improvement I would hope for is regarding the indoor slippers provided in the building: they were quite tight around my toes and didn’t fit me well, so my toes rubbed painfully enough to peel skin. If possible, I would have appreciated having an alternative option such as sandals alongside them. The meals were delicious with no particular complaints; however, I’m giving four stars simply because I hope they will become even better going forward. Overall: a comfortable and spotless Accommodation; every staff member (including housekeeping) was genuinely polite yet friendly, with wonderful thoughtfulness throughout. It’s an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again.

I always stay here the night before my departure from Hiroshima Airport. This time as well, I was able to relax in the welcome lounge, and I really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. I request the Shuttle Service between the airport and the Hotel every time, and this time the flowers in the lobby were even more beautiful than usual—I couldn’t help but stop and admire them. I’ll definitely stay again!

We stayed here for a family trip with my parents. At check-in, the staff explained the building while we enjoyed the beautiful garden view, which helped us understand the Accommodation even better. The welcome sweets and tea we were served were also delicious. As I am pregnant, I mentioned that I was avoiding caffeine, raw foods, and alcohol. They kindly switched the coffee prepared in our Room to decaf, provided non-caffeinated sword bean tea, and changed the tea served with meals to black soybean tea. I was truly impressed by their warm hospitality. Dinner was excellent as well. They even accommodated me with a separate menu, and I really appreciated their thoughtful attention to detail. Every dish was delicious, the portions were just right, and it was a wonderful meal overall. The private Onsen in our Room could be enjoyed 24 hours a day whenever we liked, which was fantastic. My parents seemed very satisfied too. This was our last family trip before our baby arrives, and we are truly glad we chose to stay here. Once things settle down, we would love to return and stay in a different Room as well.

This was my second stay, and once again I chose the Plan with dinner and breakfast. As before, the meals were simply outstanding. With a full-course meal these days, I sometimes feel full before reaching the main dish, but here I was able to enjoy everything through dessert. There are many dishes, yet it all feels wonderfully light. Not only is the food delicious, but it also leaves you feeling comfortable afterward, allowing you to make the most of your evening—an extremely satisfying course. Breakfast was just as great as ever, and I was happy to have the freshly baked croissants again. Thank you very much.

I was surprised there was no bathtub, but this time I truly appreciated how great the shower was. At breakfast, when I first saw the buffet, I briefly thought there might not be many options, but there was also a proper set menu in addition to the buffet, so it was more than enough. I really enjoyed the faucet. My friend also said the beef tongue set was delicious. The staff were very polite and kind. Since it is directly connected to JR, it was very convenient. I would love to stay again.
