Searched for Accommodation with an open-air bath in the Room The Room was exactly what we wanted, and we had a wonderful holiday—no need to carry bath items or a change of clothes to the large public bath, and we could enjoy the Onsen whenever we liked. We chose a Plan with breakfast only. The dried horse mackerel was very delicious. For us, who can’t eat that much, it was just the right amount. Enjoying coffee in the lounge while taking in the lovely view overlooking the harbor was also wonderful. Although it felt like being nestled in the woods, we didn’t see any insects. It was a lovely Accommodation that we would like to use again.

Despite making a last-minute Reservation the day before, we received heartfelt hospitality and thoughtful attention, and were able to relax and truly unwind. Not only were the Room and meals wonderful, but the Onsen was exceptional as well, helping us forget our everyday fatigue and feel refreshed in both body and mind. Throughout our stay, we could feel the Ryokan team’s spirit of hospitality in every detail, which made us very happy. Thanks to you, it became a memorable and wonderful trip. We would love to visit again in a different season and see everyone again. We look forward to staying with you then.

Although I often stay in Kirishima Onsen, this was my first time in Hitoyoshi Onsen, so I chose a relatively new Accommodation. It turned out to be the perfect choice, and on the way home my companion and I kept saying, “We’re glad we picked this place.” First of all, the Facility itself is new and very well cleaned, so check-in felt comfortable and pleasant. Next, the baths: both the indoor bath and open-air bath are stone-built with deep tubs; the water was pleasantly hot and gentle on the skin—truly a “beauty bath” quality—and I was very satisfied. Meals were served for both breakfast and dinner using local ingredients in thoughtful detail; everything was delicious in just the right portions. When visiting Kumamoto I had been hoping for basashi (horse sashimi), but it wasn’t included in this Plan; it was available to order separately, so I enjoyed it that way. What helped us most was assistance with making Reservations for lunch the next day and for activity facilities, as well as answering detailed questions. They kindly accommodated our requests—such as “I want to eat seasonal salt-grilled ayu” and “I’d like to try pottery on a wheel”—all with a smile. Thank you also for seeing us off even in light rain without opening an umbrella. The salt-grilled ayu at the restaurant you recommended was excellent, and we each made pottery pieces (a plate, a bowl, and a beer glass). After firing them in the kiln, they will be glazed in our requested colors that same day and then shipped to our home once finished—we’re looking forward to receiving them. I would love to visit again; however, there is one disappointing point: there is only one Room type available for stays of two or more people, so I would appreciate more options. I’m truly glad I stayed at Hanaougi. Everyone at the Ryokan, especially our attendant, was wonderful—kind, attentive, and courteous—so we were able to relax and enjoy a very comfortable stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and I also appreciated the careful explanation of each dish. It was memorable to see local Hida/Takayama ingredients and regional cuisine incorporated into the meals, making it a wonderful travel experience. The guest room was spotless and thoughtfully maintained down to the smallest details, with excellent amenities. The open-air bath was outstanding as well, allowing us to spend a slow and luxurious time. I was completely satisfied with everything—hospitality, cuisine, room, and Onsen. You can really feel how much care is put into this Ryokan; it’s a place that made me think, “I definitely want to come back.” Thank you very much.

This was my third stay, and every time I’m amazed by the thoughtful attention shown to guests. Even though I was traveling solo and only had breakfast included, I was treated so warmly, which I truly appreciate. As soon as I parked, a staff member came right out and carried my luggage for me. I even had a laptop with me, so it was quite heavy, but they carried it cheerfully and with great care. A staff member I’d spoken with before remembered my name and kindly took the time to greet me even while busy cleaning—it made me very happy. Last time, when Kanaru suddenly wandered off, they gently reassured me by saying, “It’s because a staff member who gives him treats just walked by,” which really warmed my heart. This time I got to pet him a lot, and I was also glad to hear more stories about Kanaru. Even late at night when heading toward the parking lot, there were staff members at the front desk and near the entrance/exit area, which made me feel safe. At breakfast as well, the pleasant greetings and guidance put me in a great mood, and having someone serve rice and miso soup made me feel at ease—I didn’t have to worry about spilling anything. I also overheard them telling another guest, “A window seat has opened up—would you like to move over?” and it really showed how much they want guests to be happy. (I understand this depends on timing and available seating.) At checkout too, they carried my heavy luggage all the way to my car—I was impressed until the very end. There were countless other thoughtful touches and support that I can’t possibly list them all. The more I visit, the more comfortable it feels here. Among Accommodations with high Reviews online there are some where you wonder why—but this place is the opposite. I honestly think 5.00 would be fair; in reality it exceeds its Reviews! As soon as I got home, I already wanted to come back again.

We visited with my son’s family. Traveling with our 8-month-old baby, we had some concerns, but even though we made Reservations for two Rooms on different dates, the staff kindly arranged for us to dine together and showed thoughtful care in many situations, which made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you very much—it became a wonderful memory. My son’s family also said they would like to come again, and we hope to visit again as well.

The Onsen water has a silky, soothing quality and feels wonderful, but above all, the kids’ room was fantastic. Our 3-year-old grandchild loves it and had fun the entire time again on this visit. Seeing that happy smile is the best gift for us grandparents. This is our third stay this year, and we also have a Reservation for December 31 at year-end.

We stayed here on a trip with a family we know, and it was wonderful as always. We’ve stayed several times, so both my wife and I can relax with peace of mind—this is our favorite hot spring Accommodation. The family staying with us was also very satisfied, making it the perfect vacation. Since one of our group had difficulty walking, we truly appreciate you accommodating our various requests. This is my fourth stay. I love the semi-open-air bath in the Room, and the food is flawless. Above all, what’s truly wonderful is that every staff member welcomes you with a genuine smile. Their words feel warm and heartfelt, never routine. The perfectly renovated interior is spotless, with stylish Scandinavian-style furniture—pure relaxation at its best. I definitely want to come back again next year.

We stay here mainly for Arashi no Yu, and it’s always one amazing experience after another—thank you again this time. The table tennis & darts Room was a hidden gem, and the kids were thrilled! If I had one request, it would be to have some board games the kids can enjoy (even something like UNO) in the table tennis Room or at the front desk—then children wouldn’t get bored even during a Multiple Night Stay. In any case, thank you as always for another wonderful stay.

This Accommodation, Sagamiya, was a wonderful place where we could truly feel traditional Japanese hospitality. As soon as we arrived by car, the staff noticed us right away and came out to assist, kindly helping us park with ease. They guided us to our Room, and the attendant came to greet us and made tea for us. These days we often stay at more Western-style Hotels, so it was a pleasure to enjoy this Japanese-style hospitality again after a long time. We enjoyed a delicious in-room meal in the tatami Room with a lovely view. The open-air bath in the Room was also excellent, and even one night was enough to leave us feeling fully refreshed. All of the staff were very pleasant. We also appreciated the many thoughtful touches throughout our stay—it felt reassuring that experienced staff could make good judgments on the spot. We would love to visit again.

We stayed here for a birthday trip, and it truly was a completely satisfying stay. Dinner was top-class in every respect—flavor, presentation, and the quality of the ingredients—and the smoked splendid alfonsino was especially outstanding. They also kindly prepared a special birthday message plate at dinner, which was a wonderful touch. The restaurant service and atmosphere were excellent as well. The next morning’s Japanese breakfast was also high quality, and the presentation using a wooden bento box felt fresh and very memorable. The Room was very spacious, and the ocean view from the second floor was breathtaking—sea and sky blending into one. Soaking in the open-air bath (Onsen) in our guest room while gazing at the moon was an indescribably happy moment. Thanks to there being no TV on purpose, we were able to enjoy a digital detox and fully immerse ourselves in nature. Our daughter loved the pool too, so I would highly recommend it for families with children. The lounge bar offered an excellent variety of drinks and alcohol, and it was convenient and appreciated that we could bring them back to our Room. We would love to stay again.

Because it’s close to Zao, this was my first stay at this Accommodation. To put it mildly, it’s one of the best Accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. It’s fairly large, so the interiors and lobby are well appointed, but above all it’s quiet and comfortable. The large public bath with an open-air bath is excellent as well, and the teppanyaki cuisine was outstanding. There was nothing to complain about. The service struck just the right balance of attentiveness and distance, and everything was impeccably clean—I truly enjoyed my stay.

This was my first stay. (Room name: Akebono-an) It was extremely comfortable, and I was able to relax and take my time. All of the staff were very kind, and it left a strong impression on me how they always greeted me with a smile. In particular, the staff member in charge of our Room supported us thoughtfully in every way—from day-to-day needs to sightseeing advice and suggestions—and I truly appreciated it. They also kindly accommodated a change to the Shuttle Service pickup/drop-off location due to our circumstances, and they handled food allergies properly as well, so we were able to stay with peace of mind. The Room had a modern, sophisticated design and was wonderful. Everything was thoroughly cleaned down to the smallest details, and it felt very fresh and spotless. I was also happy that it even had a mist sauna. Above all, the mountain views from the Room were spectacular, and we could spend time leisurely while enjoying the open scenery. Also, because meals were served in-room, we could relax in a quiet environment without worrying about surrounding noise—this was another highlight. The amenities (such as Touvert lotion) were high quality as well, and you could feel the attention to detail throughout. On the other hand, there were a few points that I felt could make it even more comfortable. If a hair iron were provided, it would be more convenient for women. Also, for indoor slippers within the building: rather than using them only up to the shoe cabinet partway down the corridor, I felt it would be clearer if guests could wear them all the way to each Room entrance—so you don’t have to walk barefoot or risk slippers being mixed up. Regarding the Room design: I thought removing closet doors and making it open would not only improve usability but also better match the current modern and refined atmosphere. The lighting around the washbasin area was slightly dim, which felt somewhat inconvenient when getting ready. I moved a tabletop mirror into the dining area to do my makeup; if that area could be made brighter around the sink counter, it would be easier to use. Also regarding shower fixtures: having an additional holder positioned at a height suitable for showering while standing would be even more convenient. I’ve listed several requests above; however overall this was an extremely satisfying stay. Thanks to everyone’s warm hospitality among your staff members at this Accommodation , we were able to spend our time comfortably and at ease. We would love to visit again.

This is the oldest hot spring in the San’in region, and it’s also a natural free-flowing Onsen—an absolute must for an Onsen enthusiast like me (laugh). The building does feel old because of its long history, but that’s part of its charm, and I hope it will continue for many years to come. The meals were a bit too much for me as an older guest; I would have preferred smaller portions with higher quality. The staff were wonderful. Thank you very much.

This was an Accommodation I’d wanted to visit for a long time. I was hoping for the riverside bath and a starry sky, but due to the river running high and cloudy weather, it didn’t happen. Still, the Accommodation was wonderful, so I was completely satisfied. At check-in, we were served delicious homemade sweets: hanamame beans with shiratama in kinako and kuromitsu. The proprietress and staff were very pleasant, and the hot spring bath—fed directly from the source—overflowed generously and felt amazing. The meals were beautifully presented using local ingredients, and we were happily full. The Room was clean and relaxing, with the sound of the river (it was quite loud this time because of the high water, but I’m sure it’s usually soothing). It was also lovely to see small wildflowers displayed throughout. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again and again. We will definitely return.

This is a small Ryokan with a strong sense of history, and as soon as you step through the entrance, you are welcomed by a classic Japanese Ryokan that blends beautifully with nature. The attentive service from the staff and the view of Kakusenkei Gorge from the Room made for a wonderful welcome. The Onsen is also small, but it was calm and very relaxing. Most impressive of all was the dining experience—every detail, from the food to the presentation and tableware, was outstanding. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to.

Ever since I happened to stay here on a trip to Wakayama, I’ve been coming back regularly. This is already my third stay. I get the sense it used to be a love hotel, but in any case, it’s extremely clean and comfortable. For this level of quality, the value for money is outstanding. Highlights: The Room is very spacious and spotless. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the bath is large enough to soak properly in the tub. The bed is double-sized and roomy. Amenities are well stocked. I still haven’t found any downsides lol. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Wakayama.

We stayed here for an anniversary trip. The Room was bright and pleasant, making it a very comfortable space.
