This is a quiet, relaxing Accommodation that feels like a hidden retreat. The bath in the Room is an Onsen, and I enjoyed it many times. All of the staff were very pleasant. The meals were teppanyaki dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, and everything was delicious. The chef’s special miso was also great, so I bought some. It seems every Room type is different, so next time I’d like to stay in a different Room.

I was captivated by the soothing scent of hinoki cypress upon arrival. After taking a bath, I relaxed and cooled down in the kura lounge. No matter when I went, the lounge was neatly kept and very comfortable. The Room was also close to the seaside, and for the first time I fell asleep—and woke up—listening to the sound of the waves. The meals were wonderful as well; we enjoyed plenty of seasonal local ingredients. We were truly able to unwind. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

The room and bath were very clean, and the panoramic ocean view from the room was stunning. We chose the standard meal plan, and the seafood-focused dishes were delicious with such generous portions that we couldn’t finish everything. In particular, the staff’s service and thoughtful attention made our stay truly pleasant, and we had a wonderful time. We were satisfied with everything—the price, facilities, and service—and would definitely like to return.

I stayed for one night on March 29. I chose March because it was just before the spiny lobster fishing ban. This time I booked a luxurious spa Plan, so it was pricey, but it was absolutely worth the cost. The cuisine, spa, Onsen, Room Facilities, and service were all top-tier. As expected from HIRAMATSU, every dish was delicious. The dish made with the spiny lobster head felt a bit heavy for me, but everything else was perfect. The spiny lobster bisque at breakfast was outstanding. The bread and butter at both dinner and breakfast were also excellent. The spa was wonderful—comparable to the Mandarin Hotel’s spa. The Onsen and Room Facilities were also superb; there is nothing to complain about. Service from the manager, head chef, staff, and spa team was flawless. I’d like to return next year during abalone season. I recommend avoiding weekends at the end of March. That’s when F1 Japanese Grand Prix qualifying and the race are held at Suzuka, so Nagoya Station gets extremely crowded and nearby roads are heavily congested. On top of that, Ise Jingu Naiku Shrine was also packed due to a yokozuna dedication sumo event—but I consider it a good experience overall.

As soon as we passed through Hyakurakuso’s gate, a staff member came out to greet us with a warm, welcoming smile. I had been wanting to visit this ryokan for its cave bath for a long time, and I was finally able to make it. The bath we had been looking forward to was wonderful, and the meals were also outstanding—every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. What made us especially glad we stayed here was the genuine care and attentiveness of the staff. We were able to enjoy a relaxing, unhurried time away from everyday life.\nWe would love to visit again.

Although the property was originally built as a public lodging facility, it has been renovated so well that it didn’t feel particularly old, and we had a very comfortable stay. Above all, the service from the staff—starting with the front desk—was outstanding, and with only 24 rooms in total, it felt like everything was well attended to. It really reminded me how much a hotel’s quality depends on the hospitality of its staff. The meals were beautifully presented, delicious, and very satisfying. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. After checkout, we realized our son had left something behind and contacted you; you handled it promptly and delivered it to our home two days later. We apologize for the trouble and would like to express our sincere thanks (though belated).

Thank you for your thoughtful emails even before our stay. On the day, our flight was suddenly canceled and we had to take the ferry, but you quickly adjusted the rental car arrangements. The food was cooked right in front of us, and both the taste and portions were excellent; the drinks were delicious too. The hot spring water quality was great, and we were able to truly relax in both body and mind. Everything was perfect!

An auberge in Ise-Shima. Both the facilities and pricing are casual, but the dining is exceptionally satisfying. Accommodation and meals here are often expensive, but this place is a great value at around JPY 20,000 per person for one night with two meals. The restaurant has high ceilings and large glass windows, creating a bright, open atmosphere. At night the lighting is slightly subdued, making the ambience even better. As expected in Ise-Shima—known as “Miketsukuni,” the land of fine food—plenty of local ingredients are used. We thoroughly enjoyed abalone, Kumano beef, and spiny lobster and were very satisfied. The cuisine feels like creative fusion combining Japanese and Western styles. The presentation was as delicious to look at as it was to eat. In particular, the pairing of tender, fragrant eel with springy abalone—accented by sansho pepper—was outstanding and truly unique to Ise-Shima. Used for one night during a trip around Tohoku. I booked at a great price and honestly didn’t expect much, but the value for money was outstanding—I was truly impressed. The room felt a bit dated, but it was kept very clean and was spacious enough to be comfortable. I also loved the ocean view at sunrise. What really stood out was the buffet. They offered plenty of local specialties such as Morioka reimen, wanko soba, and imoni, and the roast beef was authentic. Not only Japanese dishes but also Western and Chinese options—an incredible variety with so many choices. Lots of desserts too! There was even a chocolate fountain that kids would love, and the fruit quality was excellent. Everything tasted delicious—truly wonderful. The all-you-can-drink alcohol selection was also extensive; it almost made me worry whether they can make a profit with this price for one night with two meals included. Breakfast was just as fantastic. The buffet layout is refined and uncluttered as well. I’ve stayed in many places, but this buffet is better than that of certain members-only resort hotels. It really reminded me that hospitality matters more than facilities. It’s lively with what seem to be repeat guests from nearby prefectures, yet they don’t appear to overbook beyond their capacity—the service is attentive throughout. It’s a shame it’s too far for me to visit often. I’m honestly jealous of those who live nearby. A family trip here would be guaranteed to satisfy everyone.

After the festival at Shima Spain Village, I was able to refresh and recover from the fatigue with delicious food and a wonderful bath, so I could take on day two feeling energized! I’d love to come back again for a relaxing stay.

This was my long-awaited trip to Huis Ten Bosch. I considered staying at one of the official Hotels inside the park, but chose this Hotel for its extensive Facilities, the large number of positive Reviews, and the reassurance of the Okura brand. Even before arriving at the main entrance by car, I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the building’s exterior. The stunning stepped atrium from the 1st to 3rd floors also set an exciting tone for a truly luxurious stay. The female bell staff member was exceptionally polite and kind, saying, “We’ll take your luggage up via a separate elevator, so please go ahead to your Room.” When I entered, there was an adorable teddy bear on the table by the window. The message card read, “Happy Birthday,” and since it was my birthday month, it was such a delightful surprise! She also wished me a happy birthday in person, which really moved me. From my Room we could see not only Huis Ten Bosch but also views out to open water—an amazing panorama. It was during the Obon holiday period so there must have been many guests staying, yet thanks to how spacious the Hotel is overall, it never felt crowded. Above all else, every staff member’s attentive service stood out. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and usually find something to complain about somewhere—but this time there wasn’t a single issue, and I enjoyed every moment in complete comfort. While this is clearly a Hotel designed with visits to Huis Ten Bosch in mind, once you cross the bridge there’s also a JR station (remarkably close to the waterfront), so on day two we took the train and went as far as Sasebo. It’s also very useful as a base for sightseeing in Nagasaki City or Sasebo. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety with plenty of both Japanese and Western options—I ended up eating far too much. This was my first time visiting Nagasaki and Huis Ten Bosch, and it became an unforgettable trip full of wonderful memories. Next time I’d love to stay longer—this truly is an outstanding Hotel. We took a boat from the port to get there, and the tropical-style entrance and lobby made it feel like a special getaway. The staff were very friendly and we had a comfortable stay, but we were concerned that the in-room refrigerator did not cool at all. Also, we think it would be better if breakfast could start around 7:00 a.m.

It was a wonderful Hotel that exuded classic history and elegance. Not only were the in-house Facilities excellent, but we were also truly impressed by the delicious cuisine and the breathtaking panoramic view over Toba Bay. Above all, the staff’s attentive care and warm hospitality were outstanding, allowing us to spend our entire stay in comfort and relaxation. At the club lounge, we enjoyed a leisurely time along with high-quality drinks and lounge-exclusive dishes. The cheesecake—so well known that people say “Toba International Hotel means cheesecake”—was indeed as delicious as its reputation suggests, adding a special touch to our stay. In addition, the “Pearl Aurora Bath” infused with pearl ingredients at Shiojitei on the grounds was exceptional; its shimmering water gently soothed away our travel fatigue. The food, location, bath, and service from the staff—everything made for a highly satisfying stay. This is a truly wonderful Hotel that we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

We were so happy to be able to see both the sunset and the sunrise from our Room, with the beach right in front of us!! The meals were also incredibly delicious—our son, who usually doesn’t like fish, was totally hooked and we were surprised! He kept saying, “It’s so good!” while eating grilled kuji salt-style!! It was a little inconvenient that there wasn’t a shop on-site, but other than that we were completely satisfied with the service. The staff also took great care of us with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere! We even received souvenirs, and our whole family was able to enjoy an amazing stay until the very end. I was happy to be able to celebrate my birthday here again this year. Not only was the Room wonderful, but the meals were delicious, and the staff’s hospitality was excellent—I’m always grateful. The towel cake in the Room and the mago chazuke I had been hoping to try made it even more special. I had a truly lovely time. Thank you very much.

The pool in the courtyard had two shallow depth options, which were perfect for our 5- and 3-year-old children. They also lent out water guns, and having a swimsuit spin dryer was very helpful. At night, there was a free lottery next to the front desk and a small festival-style game area (paid, around 200 yen), and we felt they had really put thought into it. We were allowed to use our own handheld fireworks (not sold on-site) in the courtyard, and when we brought some, they kindly lent us a bucket filled with water and a lighter. Meals were served in the Room for both breakfast and dinner, with great portions and flavor—our whole family was very satisfied. The baths operated on a rotating schedule: the women’s bath was on the 4th floor at night and on the 3rd floor in the morning. The 4th floor did not have an open-air bath but did have a sauna. It was at a comfortable temperature that children could also use. The 3rd floor did not have a sauna, but it had an open-air bath, which we also enjoyed. The view from our Room was beautiful as well, and we were glad to be able to see the morning sunrise.

During our trip to explore Kumano, we stayed at Aoki Shima no Yado Kumano Bettei Nakanoshima. What impressed us first was how smoothly everything was handled from the moment we arrived. At the parking area by the port waiting lounge, we simply gave our name and a staff member guided our car for us, and we were able to complete check-in right there in the lounge. The sea viewed from the port was exactly as the inn’s name suggests—truly an “azure sea.” We were moved by its beauty as soon as we arrived. As explained in advance, it takes about five minutes to reach the property by private boat from the port. Even this short boat ride felt like a special touch that made it wonderfully out of the ordinary. Throughout our stay, what stood out most was the high level of hospitality from all staff members. Everyone seemed well trained, and their service was both polite and naturally warm. With the Kumano Kodo registered as a World Heritage site, it seems visitors come from all over the world, and it was impressive to see how confidently and appropriately they assisted international guests as well. What I had been looking forward to most on this trip was the open-air bath. Just as rumored, it’s an incredibly open and relaxing rotenburo with sweeping ocean views right in front of you. From 3:00 p.m., we took our time enjoying the hot springs while listening to the sound of waves—an indulgent experience indeed. Since the men’s and women’s baths alternate daily, we also enjoyed the other open-air bath starting at 6:00 a.m. The hot spring in crisp morning air felt especially refreshing. The meals were also excellent—many delicious dishes making great use of local ingredients—allowing us to fully enjoy flavors unique to Kumano. The staff member assigned to our table provided attentive service throughout, so we could relax and enjoy every moment of dinner. It takes about five hours by car from our home, so it isn’t easy for us to visit often—but even so, this is a wonderful place where we would love to stay again. This trip combined sightseeing at Seiganto-ji Temple, shrines in Kumano, Nachi Falls, and our stay on Nakanoshima into one truly memorable journey. We are grateful for the beautiful sea views, outstanding open-air baths, delicious cuisine—and above all—for everyone’s heartfelt hospitality. If you’re considering a trip to the Kumano area, I highly recommend this property.

It was our first time staying at this Accommodation, and we were able to relax and take our time. Since we had a Room with an open-air bath, it was great to be able to bathe as many times as we wanted without worrying about the time. The Hotel staff told us that deer come into the garden, and although we were skeptical, we were truly surprised to see them from our Room. We look forward to staying again next time.
