In addition to the unbeatable location directly connected to Kyoto Station, I was impressed by the staff’s courteous and heartfelt service. The Hotel has a calm atmosphere, and the room was spotless, allowing me to relax in comfort. Even after a long day of sightseeing, stepping into the Hotel immediately brought a sense of relief and reassurance. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, each one carefully prepared. It also had a distinct Kyoto touch, making it a wonderful way to start the day. More than just convenience, the staff’s thoughtful attention made this a Hotel I’d gladly choose again on my next trip to Kyoto. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay in Kyoto with just a little extra luxury, I highly recommend this Hotel.

I stayed here as a birthday gift for my sister. We were amazed the moment we entered the Room—not only did you prepare a Room with a view of the five-story pagoda, but you also gifted us sparkling wine to celebrate. My sister was absolutely thrilled. In the lounge, we enjoyed a wide variety of drinks and alcohol, along with visually stunning sweets and carefully crafted dishes. At night, we dined at the rooftop bar while taking in Kyoto’s night views. For breakfast, I chose a conger eel hot pot—something rare for a Hotel breakfast—and truly savored Kyoto’s summer flavors. We were also able to visit Kiyomizu-dera early in the morning when it was quiet and uncrowded, which made us very happy. It seems it became a wonderful memory for my sister as well. This was my 8th stay at the FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto—my absolute favorite in Kyoto, which I love so much. I was visiting Kyoto for a friend’s grand opening celebration, and at the perfect time I received a birthday coupon from the FAUCHON spa. So I decided, “Let’s treat myself to a special birthday FAUCHON hotel stay!” I planned it with excitement—booking the towel cake I’d seen on Instagram and in Reviews on IKYU.com for the first time, along with the spa’s pink bubble bath that had made me unbelievably happy before. It was my third time staying in an East Higashiyama-view FAUCHON Suite, but the sofa and table layout had changed. The moment I entered the room, I couldn’t help cheering at how adorable the towel cake was—I took tons of photos and enjoyed it to the fullest! The handwritten “Happy Birthday” message on my key card, and the illustrated birthday card placed with the towel cake, became precious keepsakes that I brought home as treasured memories. The cute hand-drawn illustrations on both the full-length mirror and bathroom mirror also made me feel endlessly happy every time I saw them. I’m truly glad I chose to spend my birthday hotel stay in a FAUCHON Suite! Since my Plan included lounge access, I spaced it out from my spa appointment and enjoyed an early dinner and drinks. Along with my favorite champagne and umeshu, after enjoying the Shigaraki-ware bathtub in my room once, I topped up fluids and sugar with cola and sweets before heading to the spa. Even for the pink bubble bath at the spa—which I had been looking forward to so much—they prepared another towel cake with a heart. After having my tired feet massaged, I returned straight to my bed in the room and instantly fell asleep—I was blissfully happy beyond words. The next morning, I woke naturally before 4:00 a.m., watched dawn during magic hour, wrote myself a birthday card using one of the room postcards (and mailed it at a postbox at the end of my trip), enjoyed tea and coffee, and savored that Higashiyama view from by-the-window table. The steamed breakfast served in bamboo steamers at restaurant breakfast, as well as a birthday message cake after checkout—and even iced tea brewed by Grandy Master—everything was delicious. It was simply amazing. After buying souvenirs, even tag message attached to tote bag when they stored luggage were adorable too. Until leaving The FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto at last , this is best lingering feeling remained; It was best-ever FAUCHON hotel stay of mine! I stayed at this Hotel for the first time after wanting to for a long time. I stayed in a Room with a terrace, and it was spacious enough to relax comfortably on the terrace or sofa. The Room was also kept very clean, which I was happy with. Breakfast was delicious as well. I would like to stay again.

I stayed for four days starting July 13. -Front Desk Staff- First of all, my sincere thanks to everyone. Due to personal circumstances, I consulted in advance about arriving earlier than planned. You kindly offered thoughtful suggestions, and at check-in the information had been accurately shared and handled perfectly. You also saw me off pleasantly at check-out. -Location / Surroundings- An excellent location in the heart of the city—Teramachi-dori, Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, Rokkaku-dori, and Sanjo-dori. Very convenient for dining and all kinds of shopping. -Hotel- Although it is a very busy area with many visitors (including international travelers), once you step into the Hotel everything changes—there is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The toilet and bath are completely separate. The bath is spacious and comfortable. The room is fully equipped with everything needed, including amenities. *Some amenities are available at the front desk In the North Building, the convenience store on the 1st floor is directly connected to the elevator. You can access it using your room key. -Sightseeing / Shopping- Shijo-Kawaramachi is about a 15-minute walk away. Thanks to the great location, various public transportation options are also close by for sightseeing and shopping. On the last day I checked out around 8:00 a.m. I headed to Kyoto Station from the Kawaramachi-dori bus stop about a 5-minute walk away; there were fewer passengers than expected, and I arrived in about 15 minutes. -Finally- I was disappointed that I couldn’t try your well-reviewed breakfast because I don’t eat much. It was during the Gion Festival (Yoiyama) period before the main parade—hot every day… no, very hot! (lol) But staying at such a wonderful Hotel made my time in Kyoto truly excellent. I look forward to visiting again next time. Thank you very much.

Kyoto offers many different ways to enjoy your stay depending on the area you choose and the character of each Hotel. This was my first time staying at this Hotel, and it is in a very convenient location just a short distance from Shijo-Karasuma, which can be considered the center of downtown Kyoto. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the station whether you arrive by Hankyu Railway or the subway. Nearby are places like Goodman Roaster Kyoto and Unzen, as well as many wonderful cafes and coffee shops that have opened over the past few years—just visiting them is enjoyable in itself. Ogaki Shoten (Main Store), with its large and unique selection of magazines and books, is also close by, and Daimaru is within walking distance. There are also grocery supermarkets such as Fresco and Moritaya right nearby, making this a great area for spending time as if you live in Kyoto. Since the Hotel opened in 2019, both the Facilities and Room interiors still feel new and were very comfortable. The Room I stayed in wasn’t particularly large, but the layout was well designed so it didn’t feel cramped. It had a comfortable bed and a fairly large sofa, and the bathroom had a spacious bathtub, which made my stay very relaxing. I stayed on the 4th floor this time, and the view from the window wasn’t great due to nearby apartment buildings; however, that’s common for Hotels in central Kyoto and can’t really be helped. With that in mind, I felt it might even be fine to choose a Room on a lower floor. Breakfast didn’t have an especially wide variety of items, but everything gave me the impression of being properly prepared. I especially liked the large-bean natto. The staff at both reception and breakfast were very polite yet friendly. Overall, I found this to be a very satisfying Hotel. I was impressed that they maintain this level of service at this price point. In Kyoto I usually make hotels around City Hall or west of the Imperial Palace my regular choices, but I would like to add this Hotel to that list as well. Thank you again—I look forward to staying here again.

For our first night in Kyoto, we wanted to go bar-hopping, so we chose the RIHGA Royal Hotel near the station. There is a free Shuttle Service at certain times, but it’s only a 7–8 minute walk. From the welcome to being shown to our Room, the service was excellent. A fully separated bath and toilet is a must for us, so the Japanese-Western style Room was perfect. The bathtub is very spacious—comfortable even for men to stretch out—and it doesn’t take long to fill. Another big plus: two bath towels per person, two face towels per person, and bathrobes provided. The Room was also spotless and very well maintained. We checked out early in the morning, and they kindly accommodated us. It’s a Hotel I’d love to stay at again.

I visited this time for events such as the Gion Festival. Recently, I have been coming to your area via Gifu. As soon as I get off the Shinkansen, the Hotel is right there—extremely convenient. Thank you as always for accommodating my requests. I have trouble with my legs on a daily basis, so your help truly means a lot. I had also been concerned about the condition near the entrance to the women’s restroom in the public area, but I was relieved to see a notice saying it was out of order. I would appreciate it if it could be replaced. I will visit again, and I look forward to seeing you. Thank you for your hospitality.

I’ve stayed here several times since it opened (either solo or as a couple). This time, I booked without hesitation because I was going to see a play at Minamiza. It’s less than a 10-minute walk straight there. It was my first time staying in this Room type, and it was clean and efficiently laid out. The bathroom had a separate washing area and was very comfortable. Breakfast offered a good selection, and everything tasted great. I also used the lounge drinks service several times with no complaints at all. On top of that, the price this time was an excellent deal—so I’d give it a perfect score. It was quite hot outside, but another big plus is that once you go underground, you can get all the way to Kawaramachi Station without going back outside. I’d like to keep staying here in the future—thank you very much.

We stayed as a family on New Year's Eve to escape the year-end hustle and bustle. The small hall was crowded with guests, but the front desk staff and attendants welcomed us warmly with smiles. The room was not very spacious but was clean and comfortable, equipped with coffee and mineral water. The silver shiny walls, full-length mirror closet doors, and compact yet renovated bathroom showed thoughtful design throughout. Although the public bath wasn't very large, I had perfect timing to enjoy it all to myself, which made me very satisfied. However, it might feel cramped during busy hours. The women's colorful yukata were stylishly designed, while the alphabet-printed yukata for general use featured vibrant colors and patterns that added a cheerful touch—especially contrasting against men's typically darker attire—enhancing the travel experience's charm. Meals were served in our room; dinner was flavorful and delicious. On New Year's morning, we enjoyed traditional osechi breakfast along with otoso (spiced sake), poured in order starting from younger guests as per custom—a refreshing moment to start anew. It was my first time trying Kyoto-style white miso soup with round mochi for ozoni; it marked a wonderful beginning to Reiwa Year 8. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Nishiki Market—with nearby sweets shops and cafes scattered around. Unfortunately, many stores seemed closed on New Year's Day itself. Surprisingly enough though, we couldn't hear any temple bells ringing at midnight but managed to sleep soundly right after welcoming the new year. While Kyoto has many hotels available, staying at a ryokan truly offers an exceptional experience!

The courteous service left the most lasting impression. In addition to the excellent location, the facility was well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. The amenity bar offered a wide variety of items, including cooling foot sheets and face packs, which were much appreciated. Complimentary coffee was available on the front desk floor. With traditional Japanese elements like tatami mats and shoji screens as part of the interior design, many guests were foreigners (mainly Westerners). During my stay, I heard more English than Japanese, which added a travel-like atmosphere even though I stayed for practical purposes. It was a hotel I would love to use again. Thank you very much!

I stayed at the Property to attend a live performance by my favorite artist at the nearby ROHM Theatre. Since it was Kyoto, I decided on this place based on my own image, and it was the perfect choice! On the day of my stay, the exterior was under construction, so I couldn't fully enjoy the wonderful appearance of the building. However, the owner, who was very considerate about this, turned out to be a lovely person. The interior was filled with a retro Showa-era vibe, and I had a fantastic two-day stay. The location was excellent, being close to the ROHM Theatre, and within walking distance of both Sanjo Station and Gion-Shijo Station. There was a Goemon bath, but since it was cold that day, I decided not to use it. If I had been able to, it would have made for another great memory. If I have the chance, I would love to stay here again. At the nearby Honzan Yohoji Temple, a pair of ducks live there, and I heard that in spring, you can even see the ducklings moving to a new home.
