The dinner was truly luxurious, just as mentioned in the reviews, and the portions were incredibly large! I felt sorry for not being able to finish it all... It would be nice to have bath towels included in the amenities! There were four friendly and adorable cats outside (*^^*).

We stayed as a family of three. While the location is a bit inconvenient without a car due to its distance from the station, the beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere made up for it. From our room, we enjoyed stunning views of snow-capped mountains in the distance. The bath was pleasantly warm, allowing us to relax and relieve our fatigue. It was a wonderful trip where we could visit places like Moto-Zenkoji Temple, Iida's attractions, and Tenryu Gorge. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We missed visiting the Central Tectonic Line Museum in Oshika Village this time, but we look forward to staying here again when we plan to go there!

We were worried right after the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake, but the west coast of Amakusa was unaffected, and my spouse and I were able to travel there safely. The Accommodation building itself is old, with no elevator and simple facilities, but it was kept clean. The staff—especially the owner—were warm and welcoming, so we had a very pleasant stay. Even though the price was low, the meals were far more luxurious than we expected, and every dish was delicious! Because of the earthquake’s impact on other guests’ plans, we didn’t run into anyone else at the bath and could relax comfortably. The only reason it isn’t a perfect rating is its age. If you don’t need a luxurious atmosphere in your Room, it’s more than sufficient. It was a very good Accommodation.

Stayed with my 93-year-old mother. The room and restaurant were on the second floor, and while the lack of an elevator might be a drawback for elderly guests, the staff kindly provided a wheelchair and assisted us by carrying it up the stairs. The bath was clean, with flowing hot spring water, which was excellent. The room had been renovated and was very clean; however, there were many steps inside the room that could be challenging for elderly guests (though not an issue for younger visitors). From our room, we had a view of the well-maintained garden, which I imagine would be stunning during autumn foliage season. Located within a golf course facility, there is also an impressive rock sculpture—possibly man-made or utilizing natural elements—that is worth seeing. The golf course itself is well-maintained and makes this accommodation ideal for those planning an overnight golfing trip.

With a British-style exterior, the drinks available on the sofa at the front desk are soothing, and the dinner and breakfast are superb! The side vegetables have a deliciousness that cannot be tasted in the city, and each dish was very tasty. The room has a unit bath and is well-equipped with amenities, but there are several onsens nearby that I recommend. I was very satisfied with the very reasonable stay.

We stayed during the May holiday period. On the way, we got caught in traffic jams many times and ended up arriving close to 7:30 p.m. Since we had booked a Plan with dinner included, I felt very sorry, but they welcomed us without showing any displeasure and even offered kind words about the traffic, which made us feel at ease and able to relax. In particular, the slightly older female staff member at reception and the young female staff member in the dining room were wonderfully considerate. We also enjoyed hearing lots of local stories (such as delicacies from the Ariake Sea and why there are no terrace seats in Yanagawa due to mosquitoes), making it a very enjoyable stay. Because we had been eating a lot every day during Golden Week, we chose a minimal Plan without eel, but both dinner and breakfast were delicious—so much so that we thought it might have been worth stretching ourselves to choose a more lavish Plan. The Room was also clean and very nice. The only disappointment was an older female staff member in the dining room at dinner. Even though there was still food left, she tried to clear our plates without asking; we stopped her, but she almost did it again right afterward. I nearly told her to stop it already, but held back because the young staff member mentioned above was so excellent. The only drawback is that there is a big difference in service quality among staff; if you happen to get an unlucky one, your impression may change.

I’ve stayed here before and was very satisfied with the Crab Feast Course, but this time I wanted even more crab, so I chose the Luxury Crab Course. As a result, I was extremely satisfied with both the taste and the portion size. Also, this inn is right in front of the lift area at Hachi-Kita Ski Resort, and being able to use the bath even after check-out is a huge help. Another great service is that guests aged 55 and over can rent equipment for free. There’s also an affiliated rental shop nearby, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately it rained that day and conditions were terrible, but thanks to staying at Hisaya, it turned into a ski trip I was happy with.

We stayed on a Plan with dinner and breakfast, and the Onsen was excellent. We were also satisfied that it was available from early morning. The meals were luxurious and very delicious. We think this Accommodation is ideal for group trips with several people.

Stayed on a weekday before the Obon holiday in August with the most affordable plan for 4 people. Despite some initial concerns, it was excellent value for money and an incredibly satisfying stay. The room was about 12 tatami mats in size, with a spacious hallway entrance and a wide sitting area by the window overlooking trees, comfortably seating four people. The bathroom had two sinks, and while there was a toilet in the room, there were also toilets located throughout the hallways and other areas. The bath was spacious with slightly sulfur-scented Onsen water that left my skin feeling smooth. Meals were served at tables in a large tatami-floored dining area. There was a menu provided along with explanations from staff members. While not extravagant, the dishes were creative and deliciously satisfying. For those wanting more luxurious options like beef or crab dishes, upgrading to another plan might be better suited. Tea and water were self-serve but made using tea leaves rather than tea bags, which made it taste better; even the water itself tasted great! After check-in, our luggage was carried to our room by staff who were kind and attentive throughout our stay. The building itself is impressive yet simple in design—clean with quick elevator access—and we enjoyed relaxing without any crowds at the baths or elsewhere around the Ryokan grounds. The road leading to this Ryokan wasn’t narrow either! One thing to note: they provide yukata robes but only one Onsen towel besides bath towels; so bringing your own pajamas or face towels might be helpful (especially if you find sleeping in yukata uncomfortable like I do). Would love to visit again!

Although slightly dated, it was a lovely Hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and even though it was outside regular hours, they kindly gave a ride to the station for one person who had to leave early. The only disappointment was not being able to use the open-air bath with a great view. The baths switched between men and women the next morning, but I couldn't use it due to lack of time in the morning.

Dinner was outstanding! Every dish served was delicious. I’d love to have the octopus steak and the simmered clams again. The mozuku seaweed was a variety I don’t usually see, and the recommended “Gyorokke” was also very satisfying. It’s an Accommodation for food lovers that I’d like to visit again.

Judging from the exterior photos of the building, I honestly didn’t have high expectations, but I was truly impressed by the attentive service. The view of Tanzan Shrine from the Room was as beautiful as a postcard. On the day of my stay, I was told there would be an illumination at Tanzan Shrine, and I was moved to see the fantastical buildings and cherry blossoms. When I mentioned that I would go for an early-morning walk, they kindly prepared shoes for me even though it was 6:00 a.m., and they were waiting for me when I returned. At breakfast, while enjoying ozoni served with local kinako, I also heard various stories about the area from the staff. After attending morning worship at Tanzan Shrine and strolling around the grounds for a while before returning to the Hotel, they even drove me in their Shuttle Service despite how close the parking lot was. The building does show its history in places, but it’s clear that careful attention has been paid to details such as renovated bathrooms, toilets, and windows. The cleaning is also extremely thorough. It was a wonderful Accommodation.

Being able to enjoy so many iwana dishes served at the table was truly appreciated! I was tired of buffets, so I really enjoyed the grilled iwana, iwana sushi, and sashimi—plenty of iwana in every form. I didn’t expect to have miso dengaku-style grilled iwana for dinner the next day as well, and it was delicious—I was so happy! The Onsen also left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. The indoor bath and the semi-circular open-air bath were both wonderful. All of the staff seemed to get along well and were kind and helpful, which made me feel at ease. The shop also had tasty items like soba noodles, sweets, and snacks (such as hoya), so I was happy to be able to buy souvenirs too. Thank you very much for taking care of us! I’ll definitely come back for the iwana料理 and Onsen again. Since it’s located up in the mountains, a Multiple Night Stay is recommended for anyone who wants to relax slowly in peace and quiet.

I think this Accommodation offers excellent value. I expected the Facilities to be old, but that wasn’t the case—they were very well maintained and clean. If I visit Nara City again, I will stay here again.

This time we came to Yugawara to see fireflies. It was truly magical and moving. Although this Accommodation is old, the bathroom and water facilities in the Room have been nicely renovated, and there are four private Onsen baths, so you can relax and enjoy them at your own pace. The meals can be served in your Room and were very delicious. We chose the smaller course, but it was more than enough for us seniors. However, perhaps because the building is old, we were quite bothered by noises such as footsteps at night and woke up several times. Next time, we would like to stay in a Room with a private bath. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

I didn’t have very high expectations until we actually stayed, but we were extremely satisfied traveling with our toddler (1 year and 2 months old). All the necessary baby items were provided, and they even supplied diapers as a complimentary service. Safety guards were properly placed on table corners and other areas, and even things like remote controls were individually sealed in antibacterial film—thoughtful details that made us feel at ease. At first I wondered if the Room might be a bit small, but there was no wasted space. The futon area (raised platform), living space, and the outdoor open-air bath flowed seamlessly together. Because you can see into the Room while bathing, I could relax in the bath while keeping an eye on my sleeping child. The highlight of any trip is the food, and both dinner and breakfast were served in-room. Everything was delicious. Unlike many Ryokan breakfasts that are unnecessarily large and end up getting cold, ours was served warm with delicate flavors—we were truly satisfied. They also prepared child-friendly options such as softly cooked rice and a lightly seasoned clear soup. The meals were not only delicious but also safe for our child, so both parent and child could enjoy them. Our daughter doesn’t eat packaged toddler meals, but we could simply rinse pieces of grilled fish or simmered dishes from the adult meal in hot water before giving them to her—so we really appreciated being able to travel almost empty-handed. We would definitely stay again. I suspect most guests will return too, so it may become harder to get a Reservation. Highly recommended.

I stayed at this Onsen Accommodation for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights. Both breakfast and dinner were served in the same private dining room, and we had the same staff member each time, so we could enjoy our meals in a very relaxed and calm atmosphere. The food was excellent and very satisfying. However, there was no accommodation guidebook in the Room, so I would have appreciated having one.

We stayed here on our way to Kumamoto, visiting places like Hita and Yume Otsuribashi. Upon arrival, the staff promptly helped us with our luggage. Since there were few guests staying, we were allowed to use the men's onsen as a private family bath. The outdoor onsen had a silky texture that felt like applying lotion to the skin. As our room only had a shower, this was a very appreciated service. The room featured elegant furnishings that must have been impressive when first opened. While some signs of aging were noticeable (like loose closet knobs), everything was kept clean and tidy. The TV was quite small—less than 20 inches—and we found ourselves standing close to watch it at times. Normally, we don't watch much TV during trips, but since the weather was bad and there wasn't much else to do outside, it became a way to pass time indoors. On clear nights, I imagine the stars would be stunningly visible. Dinner consisted of course meals and everything tasted delicious! Although I knew this when making my reservation, breakfast offered only one option: Western-style with fried eggs as the main dish. Since this is not a large hotel catering to many guests, having no buffet is understandable (and I personally don’t prefer buffets). However, I would have loved an option for Japanese-style breakfast. On October 19th during our stay, there was one tree within the property showing autumn colors already turning red. By November, you can likely enjoy vibrant red and yellow foliage. This accommodation is perfect for those looking forward to enjoying onsen and meals here—thank you very much!

It was a cozy accommodation, but a very clean and excellent ryokan. The food was outstanding, especially the Joshu beef steak. Additionally, the handmade soba noodles were delicious. The private onsen was slightly small but a very nice bath. Thank you for your hospitality.
