Depending on the Room, the air conditioning did not work very well, so it may be a bit uncomfortable in summer. There are separate baths for men and women, but one side has only an open-air bath with no indoor bath, while the other has only an indoor bath; there is also a time-based switch between men’s and women’s use. Personally, this left me with a less favorable impression. Aside from that, the location and meals were good, and the Facility was excellent with no complaints.

Stayed with my 93-year-old mother. The room and restaurant were on the second floor, and while the lack of an elevator might be a drawback for elderly guests, the staff kindly provided a wheelchair and assisted us by carrying it up the stairs. The bath was clean, with flowing hot spring water, which was excellent. The room had been renovated and was very clean; however, there were many steps inside the room that could be challenging for elderly guests (though not an issue for younger visitors). From our room, we had a view of the well-maintained garden, which I imagine would be stunning during autumn foliage season. Located within a golf course facility, there is also an impressive rock sculpture—possibly man-made or utilizing natural elements—that is worth seeing. The golf course itself is well-maintained and makes this accommodation ideal for those planning an overnight golfing trip.

The interior was stylish, and the place was very clean. However, I had trouble because you can’t watch regular TV, and I usually keep the TV on all the time.\nI think older guests may find this inconvenient.

You can enjoy a 24-hour onsen with natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source! The room was a renovated twin room, and the sunken kotatsu was an interesting feature. The beds were fluffy and very comfortable, making for a pleasant stay! For dinner, we had the famous Kiritanpo hot pot served individually in small pots, along with shabu-shabu featuring Kazuno beef and Hachimantai pork—everything was delicious! As mentioned in reviews, there were plenty of options, leaving us fully satisfied. There was also a wide selection of local sake available for tasting. After check-out, I realized I had forgotten something, but they contacted me immediately so I could retrieve it. I truly appreciate their kind assistance! Thank you very much.

The Onsen temperature and water quality were excellent, and we were very satisfied. There were many types of shampoo available, so we could try different ones—an amazing idea and a first-time experience for us! However, it was disappointing that only one towel was provided and reusing it was expected (additional towels cost extra). We’d like there to be no limit for overnight guests. The guest Room is old, but it’s a satisfying size. As for the air conditioning, there was no heating/cooling switch in each Room—only fan strength adjustment. After the Onsen it felt hot, so we opened the windows fully to cool down with outside air. The meals were delicious and the portions were just right—we finished everything (both of us are women in our 50s). Rice doesn’t come unless you ask for it, but there weren’t many staff members so it was hard to find the right timing. Amenities are available at the front desk, so you take what you need; I think that’s good because it avoids waste. There are yukata and samue as loungewear; we chose samue and that was the right choice. We usually bring our own loungewear when traveling, so we appreciated having less luggage. Overall, it was excellent! Also, we were happy with the welcome drink service (alcohol)—whisky or wine is fine—but we’d appreciate it even more if beer were available.

Since it was a meal on the mountain, I honestly didn’t have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food and the service were both excellent. It was a shame the weather was cloudy, but we were more than satisfied nonetheless. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, it started raining midway, so we couldn't enjoy the starry sky or fireworks, but the staff at the accommodation were kind, and we had a great time experiencing glamping for the first time! As mentioned in other reviews, although there were three of us, the breakfast portion seemed to be for two people. The meat at the evening barbecue was very delicious.

Being able to enjoy so many iwana dishes served at the table was truly appreciated! I was tired of buffets, so I really enjoyed the grilled iwana, iwana sushi, and sashimi—plenty of iwana in every form. I didn’t expect to have miso dengaku-style grilled iwana for dinner the next day as well, and it was delicious—I was so happy! The Onsen also left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. The indoor bath and the semi-circular open-air bath were both wonderful. All of the staff seemed to get along well and were kind and helpful, which made me feel at ease. The shop also had tasty items like soba noodles, sweets, and snacks (such as hoya), so I was happy to be able to buy souvenirs too. Thank you very much for taking care of us! I’ll definitely come back for the iwana料理 and Onsen again. Since it’s located up in the mountains, a Multiple Night Stay is recommended for anyone who wants to relax slowly in peace and quiet.

The staff were very friendly, and there was a lounge where we could relax and enjoy tea at our leisure. The food was delicious, with just the right portions, and we thoroughly enjoyed the desserts as well.

Stayed at the accommodation while enjoying cherry blossoms at Rakutenchi with my 90-year-old mother. A spacious room with a relaxing cypress bath. The food was excellent. The staff were very courteous, making it a pleasant trip. We also received admission tickets to Rakutenchi. My mother was delighted to see the beautiful cherry blossoms. Thank you very much!

Take a bus from Kanazawa Station and walk a little from the Katamachi or Korinbo bus stop. It is located along a shopping street in the middle of the downtown area, Kenrokuen, and museums, making it possible to visit Kenrokuen and Nishi Chaya District during a morning walk. It is a modernly designed Hotel, which I found very nice when tired of the usual Business Hotel. I thought having such a Hotel is Kanazawa's strength. The view from the window was a bit oppressive with the wall of the neighboring building, but it was a large Room with a sofa, making for a comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

A great Accommodation. The bath and meals were excellent, and overall we were very satisfied. The service was also courteous. However, although the payment had been charged in advance by card, we were asked to pay again at reception due to a lack of confirmation, so I deducted one star. The view of the Pacific Ocean from the Room was beautiful, and it was wonderful to see the sunrise the next morning.

The view of Mount Fuji from the room was very beautiful.

The facilities felt a bit dated, as expected from a public accommodation. The room was a combination of Japanese and Western styles. While the Japanese-style side showed some signs of aging, the Western-style side seemed to have been renovated and was excellent. Although our room did not have a private bath, the large communal bath was conveniently close (it seems they accommodated our request for proximity due to my mother’s mobility issues). The room's location near both the dining area and the bath on the first floor was very convenient. The toilet and washroom were clean, making for a comfortable stay. The communal bath was also wonderful. The indoor bath had separate areas for washing and soaking, providing a peaceful experience when in the tub. The outdoor bath offered stunning views of autumn-colored mountains while listening to the gentle sound of a nearby stream—an exceptional experience available even late at night. Compared to the indoor baths, the outdoor baths were slightly cooler, perhaps designed for longer soaks. Above all else, however, it was the food that stood out as extraordinary! Despite jokingly mentioning that Gunma only has mushrooms, miso paste, and wild boar pork ("Inobuta"), these ingredients were crafted into delicious dishes with great care and creativity. The portions were generous; unfortunately, my elderly mother and wife couldn’t finish their meals entirely. The dishes made abundant use of fragrant mushrooms with mild yet flavorful seasoning—truly delightful! Miso paste seemed to be a local specialty here; its rich aroma enhanced various dishes beautifully. And then there’s sake! With around 40 varieties exclusively from Gunma breweries (if I recall correctly), choosing one can be overwhelming at first glance! We opted for their tasting set featuring five types (approximately 30ml each) priced at ¥1,500—and every single one tasted distinctively delicious! Individual glasses ranged between ¥600–¥800 per serving (about 180ml), making it hard not to deliberate over what next drink should follow! I particularly enjoyed "Hiraijo," while my wife preferred "Akagiyama," so we ordered another glass accordingly based on her choice afterward. A staff member who recommended these selections had extensive knowledge about sake which made conversations engaging throughout dinner service too! It’s no surprise this accommodation attracts many repeat visitors—it truly deserves such loyalty given how memorable our stay turned out overall. After watching a baseball game, we extended our trip to enjoy Kinosaki Onsen and the Amarube Bridge sightseeing. Since my friend and I both love crab, we stayed with the Kasumi Crab course at this accommodation. When I informed them in advance by phone that my friend had difficulty walking, they kindly prepared a barrier-free room for us. The food was delicious. They also arranged a taxi for us, and the staff serving meals were very attentive. The onsen was excellent as well. Although I was initially worried due to some negative reviews, we had a pleasant stay overall. The area in front of the ryokan was quiet enough to relax comfortably.

I made a reservation at an accommodation that is rare these days, offering in-room smoking and in-room dining. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The onsen is not from a natural hot spring source, but you can enjoy it quietly and leisurely.

I had the pleasure of visiting Funbe again this September! Since the owner mentioned that September is the best time for delicious food, I try to reserve during this month whenever possible. Although I've visited many times before, this year's rice was absolutely the best ever!!! It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say so. Nowhere else but Funbe offers rice that tastes amazing even when cold. I had grilled Pacific saury, and it was enormous—bigger than any I've ever seen! I was truly amazed! And of course, it was incredibly delicious as well. For dessert, we were served yellow watermelon... It was so sweet that I couldn't believe it was watermelon! It made me question all the watermelons I've eaten before—it was just unbelievably sweet and tasty. I'm glad to see both the owner and his wife looking as healthy as ever. I'll definitely visit again soon, so please treat me to more of your wonderful dishes! Thank you very much!

I had some business in Fukuoka and was looking for a place to stay. I found this place where I could relax and enjoy an onsen away from the city. The retro atmosphere and the friendly staff at the front desk allowed me to fully enjoy a leisurely time after a long while. The onsen and sauna were spacious and relaxing. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

Congratulations on reopening.

We stayed in a Compact Suite for a 4-night Multiple Night Stay in winter. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the location and the concept of “staying as if you live here,” and it truly lived up to that idea. First, the location is excellent. We were able to visit Lake Mashu every day and enjoy how it changes with the weather and time of day. It was also convenient to shop in Teshikaga before or after sightseeing, and access toward Lake Kussharo was easy as well, so we could adjust our plans flexibly depending on how we felt. The services provided and the level of interaction with the staff also felt just right for us. Even without special offerings, we could freely enjoy drinks in the lounge, and by making good use of the refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and electric kettle ourselves, we had a very comfortable stay. We could unwind from everyday social fatigue while still receiving support that never felt inconvenient—highly recommended for guests who prefer minimal interference or for Multiple Night Stay. We booked the dinner course for one night only, but each dish conveyed sincerity toward the ingredients and careful creativity. Everything was delicious, and we’re glad we tried it. One minor point: because the toilet/bathroom fixtures and appliances are very design-focused—and apparently overseas-made (based on labeling)—they weren’t immediately intuitive to use. Once you get used to them, it’s not an issue. Overall, we were very satisfied to be able to spend our time quietly at our own pace throughout the stay without stress or inconvenience.
