Although it was a cold day, we were welcomed very warmly. The staff were courteous and helpful, and we truly appreciate it. The Onsen was also wonderful—my skin felt smooth afterward.

Our family of three stayed for one night. It was our first time staying in a renovated traditional house as a whole-house rental Accommodation, but we were interested because the Reviews were so positive. The Accommodation is a renovated old house, and we really enjoyed how the old and new elements blend together. The weather was great—not too hot—and we were impressed by the beautiful scenery and the well-equipped Facilities. We also loved the freedom of cooking our own dinner over charcoal. The slightly dim atmosphere inside, the cleanliness, and the clear, courteous explanations from the male staff member were much appreciated. This has added another place we’d love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I stay here on the last day of every trip, and this time again I used it on the final day of my 10-day journey. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the bath had wonderful spring water quality—I was completely satisfied. I think Umegashima will get even hotter from here, but please keep up the great work. I’ll visit again, so thank you in advance.

Thank you for welcoming us with such warm hospitality! We booked a Room with an open-air bath, and it felt more open than we expected, which made us a bit nervous, so we used it early in the morning and at night when it seemed like no one would be around. The meals were also delicious, and we were very satisfied! We ate so much we could barely move.

This was my third stay. Each time, I have stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with an open-air bath. The spacious in-room open-air bath is large enough for four people, and you can enjoy the golden hot spring water. There is also a shower room, and I feel the price is very reasonable. The service was courteous, and the front desk staff at check-in were especially friendly, with a bright smile that left a great impression. Also, the restaurant staff member from overseas spoke excellent Japanese and carefully cleared empty dishes without making noise. I have stayed at about four Itoen Hotels, but this Grand Hotel is my favorite. I will make another Reservation.

Despite the inconvenience, you kindly provided Shuttle Service for one member of our family. Thank you as well for preparing such a wonderful Room for us. Both breakfast and dinner were carefully prepared and delicious. Thank you to the proprietress and all the staff for your kindness. We would love to stay again.

It was a Room with an open-air bath, looking up at Gifu Castle and gazing down at the gentle flow of the Nagara River. We didn’t use the rooftop open-air bath or the large public bath—the in-Room open-air bath alone was more than enough. We also got to experience cormorant fishing, which made it feel truly special. Breakfast seemed to be Japanese-style only (?), but that was absolutely the right choice—it was delicious. It made me think, “I want to live in this Room!”

I ended up coming back again in less than a month. When I finally had some free time and wondered where to go, my feet naturally led me to Hotel AreaOne Banjinmisaki. This time the Hotel was almost fully booked. There seemed to be a sports tournament nearby, and many families were staying the night before—an eye-opening way to use the Hotel. Our family came to enjoy the sea at Banjinmisaki and to see the winged swim ring we’d spotted on Instagram. With a free rental float in hand, we played in the water at the nearly empty beach right in front of us. The kids were thrilled, and our whole family had a wonderful time. Even though it wasn’t officially beach season yet, the water was already warm enough for us to fully enjoy playing with our children along the shoreline. There’s a shower room on the first floor of the Hotel, so it’s easy to rinse off sand. If you bring your yukata with you, you can rinse off and head straight to the bath—such great convenience. I say this every time, but I truly believe the view from the Room window is the best in the world. Relaxing in your Room while watching the sunset, then setting off fireworks under a sky full of stars—I don’t think there are many Hotels like this anywhere in Japan, or even worldwide. And I feel that our Kashiwazaki trip is made possible by all of this thanks to everyone on staff who supports these wonderful moments. This time we were lucky enough to get tai meshi for breakfast, and we enjoyed an amazing meal together with an incredible view—such a satisfying morning. While browsing the Hotel’s souvenir corner, we bought some lovely sweets and a spoon like those shown in photos. Many Hotels sell souvenirs made in Osaka or Saitama—or even overseas—but this Hotel offers local specialties properly made in Niigata, which left a great impression on me. The sweets were made in Kashiwazaki and were delicious. As for the spoon—it was crafted by an artisan from Tsubame-Sanjo—and it’s so outstanding that after using it at home I honestly felt it might be “the best spoon in the world,” just like this Hotel. A Hotel that can curate souvenirs like these really might be number one! I always care more about where something is manufactured than who sells it, so I think this Hotel has impeccable taste with its strong selection of local specialties. On this trip—despite having visited dozens of times—I realized for the first time that even just browsing this souvenir corner makes staying here worthwhile. In any case, this is truly an excellent Hotel with wonderful staff who have great taste as well. We’ll definitely be back!

I suddenly felt like visiting Matsushima and started looking for Accommodation, but everywhere was pricey. The more affordable places had reviews that were, well, what you’d expect… Since my stay was short, I thought I didn’t need to do much sightseeing—then I found this place. A “Room assigned on arrival” Plan with crab at this price? Is that really okay? I arrived feeling both excited and a bit anxious, but it exceeded my expectations by far. The staff were wonderful, and even though it’s a two-story building, there’s an elevator. When I got to my Room (by chance), it was a twin room with double beds. Spacious! Clean! Beautiful! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff’s attentive check-ins were also appreciated. I finished all the crab without thinking about anything else. I noticed a framed certificate on the wall—it wasn’t quite a standard chef’s license… Turns out they’re actually an instructor who trains chefs. No wonder everything tasted so good… In the large public bath, I ended up chatting with other guests about how great this Accommodation is. If there’s one thing I’d like to mention: The small stones laid in the reclining bath area of the large public bath have come loose, and it hurt when I stepped on them—please improve this before my next visit.

I’ve stayed here many times, and this was the first time I was impressed that breakfast seating was open. Also, since it’s bonito season, they served a generous portion of delicious bonito sashimi in the morning! This is an area where even the grilled salmon is unbelievably good, so breakfast was already high quality—and then they added sashimi too. I was very satisfied! The Room and Facility are a bit old, but if that doesn’t bother you, I think it’s a great Accommodation. It’s also close to a convenience store.

This was my first stay here. The Room was spacious, and I was very satisfied to be able to relax in the Onsen. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay here again.

The meals were absolutely delicious—everything from the sashimi to the grilled fish. The pudding served at breakfast was especially tasty. The Room was also wonderful, and the view of nothing but the ocean right in front of you was amazing! It was nice to hear the sound of the waves, too. The staff were friendly and approachable, and we truly had a fun, relaxing stay.

As the name “Accommodation with a Large Open-Air Bath” suggests, it’s wonderful that there are multiple spacious, open-air baths with a great sense of openness. There are also plenty of washing stations, so I could enjoy the hot water freely without worrying about other guests. I was also surprised that each of the four free private baths is as large as, or even larger than, a typical open-air bath. The morning bath starts at 6:00, but Onsen lovers would be even happier if it opened a little earlier. The Room shows its age to some extent, but it was well cleaned and comfortable. The meals were just the right amount—not too much or too little—and the breakfast rice porridge was especially good. When I mentioned that the lighting during dinner was glaring because it shone directly on me, they responded immediately; they also kindly explained details about the return bus service—overall, the staff’s hospitality was excellent. Although access by public transportation is somewhat limited, this is an Accommodation I would definitely like to stay at again if I have another chance to visit Kumano.

After seeing on TV that many stays were being canceled due to the earthquake, I decided on the spot, “Then let’s go and make some summer vacation memories!” and made a same-day Reservation. The Room had a calm, pleasant atmosphere. Since it was the Room at the very end of the hall, we were able to relax without worrying about others even with children. I know it may depend on availability, but I truly appreciate your thoughtful consideration. Some of the staff were from overseas, but they made a sincere effort to speak polite Japanese and were very pleasant. Everyone was gentle and attentive, and we received wonderful hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen—both the large public bath and the private family bath. It helped us forget everyday noise and feel refreshed. This ended up being a long message, but it was truly a rewarding trip that left us completely satisfied. It reminded me how wonderful a Ryokan can be. Next time, I’d like to add meals as well and enjoy an even more relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

This was our first stay with three dogs. The meals and the Onsen were excellent. The Room was very clean and comfortable. Above all, the staff were kind, making this a truly warm and welcoming Accommodation. We will definitely return. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

This Hotel is very cozy and located in a quiet riverside area. It’s a short walk to the center of Jozankei, but it’s perfect for a post-meal stroll, and you can also enjoy the illuminated Toyohira River. The meals focus on quality over quantity; each dish made the most of its ingredients, and everything was delicious. The Onsen bathing area is on the smaller side, but since this Ryokan has only a few Rooms, it never felt crowded (weekday Monday stay during Obon week).

My husband and I stayed one night in the Nadeshiko Room. The Accommodation is quite far from the familiar sights of residential areas and shops, but it’s in a wonderful location surrounded by the greenery of Takayama Village. After seeing Raiden Falls, we were truly moved by the nature there. The Accommodation isn’t large and has a historic feel, but the interior has been nicely renovated. After check-in, simply relaxing in the lobby with a bowl of matcha while looking out at the trees right in front of us was incredibly soothing. The Nadeshiko Room we stayed in was especially spacious and barrier-free, so we could unwind comfortably. This time it was just the two of us and we’re still doing fine physically, but with this layout, we felt we could come back even when we’re older—and also imagined how nice it would be to visit with our son and his wife. Above all, the Onsen was absolutely amazing! We’ve stayed at many Onsen Accommodations, but here we could soak in a free-flowing hot spring bath with yunohana floating on the surface while enjoying seasonal views through the window. With its size and cleanliness, this Onsen is hands down our best experience ever. We were informed in advance, but the water temperature is quite hot, so if you prefer a milder bath you may need to adjust it. The meals were simple yet delicious dishes that made great use of ingredients unique to a mountain Ryokan—everything felt wholesome and nourishing. The river fish had no odor and tasted great; however, since there are only a few Rooms, I would have loved it served more freshly grilled. It was slightly firm, so my husband wondered if it might have been smoked. Overall, it was an ideal Accommodation for escaping everyday noise and spending time at ease. Choosing this place from all the options we researched before our trip was absolutely the right decision. Thank you very much.

We stayed here as a couple on a trip to Matsumoto. We made a Reservation at this Hotel because we were looking for a guest Room near Matsumoto Castle with an open-air bath and private dining. It was close to the castle, and we arrived without getting lost. Both the building and the Room were very well cleaned and felt spotless. The view from the Room was also great. We enjoyed our meal in a private room, and everything was delicious. We chose the dining Plan for guests aged 50 and over, and the portion size was just right. Since there aren’t many shops nearby, we bought drinks from the vending machine inside, but there was only one machine, so the selection was limited. Overall: 5 stars. I usually buy towels with the Hotel name when I stay somewhere, but I forgot this time—so when we visit Matsumoto again, we’ll be happy to stay here again.

We chose this Accommodation expecting great food, and both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared—our whole family was very satisfied, exceeding our expectations. The hostess (or staff member) was also very friendly, making our stay truly comfortable. With only a few guest rooms, we could enjoy the bath at a relaxed pace, and we would definitely like to stay again if we have the chance.

This time I took the Shinkansen to Sendai and used the free Shuttle Service bus from Sendai Station for a round trip. After arriving, I had a beer, and at dinner I ate and drank as well. I also got to use the pool, so I was very satisfied. Since I was traveling alone, my Room was a single and felt a bit small, but next time I'd like to go with friends and try staying in a larger Room. I'd like to visit again.
