This was a high-quality Accommodation where you could truly appreciate the chef’s excellent sense of taste in both the quality and quantity of the food. The bath was also wonderful and left a strong impression on me. I was particularly struck by a Nepalese female staff member who spoke Japanese well; she looked worried because a local bridge in her hometown had been washed away in a landslide disaster in Nepal.

This Hotel was truly exceptional, with breathtaking Hayama views and the warm hospitality of the staff. The Misaki-grown longtooth grouper served at dinner was especially memorable—the chef’s cooking was perfect, and I was genuinely impressed. The plump, tender white flesh and rich fat that melted in my mouth were unforgettable. With wonderful cuisine and outstanding service, it became a truly special stay. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your hospitality. The bath, Room, and meals were all just as good as those at Accommodations that cost more than twice as much. The staff also kept the perfect level of attentiveness, making our stay very comfortable. The view of Ena Gorge from the Room window was spectacular, and we would love to visit again. As we did last year, we stayed again this year for our cousins’ trip. Unfortunately, the weather was bad last year, but this year it was sunny, so we decided to definitely use Choraku’s pool. At check-in, we enjoyed delicious tea and sweets in the lounge, then rested a bit in our Room before heading to Choraku. We went into the pool (there were lots of children, but we still enjoyed it), and then used Choraku’s open-air bath. After returning, it was time for dinner. The meal was delicious again this time. The main dish at dinner was venison, which had no gamey smell and tasted great. There were also various drinks that paired well with the food, and this time we ordered the wine pairing. The price was very reasonable. After dinner we took a short break, then went back to Choraku to enjoy a mini concert. After returning, we had a nightcap in the lounge, took another bath, and went to bed. In the morning we woke up slowly, took another bath, and then had breakfast. This time we could choose between Japanese-style or Western-style breakfast; since the bread served here is incredibly good, we chose Western-style and asked for all types of bread so the three of us could share a little of each. We had tea in the lounge again, returned to our Room to pack up our belongings—and then it was already time to check out. The staff were pleasant, the Room was clean and comfortable—an easy Hotel to relax in—and since you can also enjoy Choraku’s Facilities and events as well, there’s plenty to do. We had another wonderful stay this time too. We’re planning our cousins’ trip here again next year as well—thank you in advance.

This was my first time visiting Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, and I stayed for one night. I was completely satisfied with everything—the Room, the meals, and the staff’s service. At night, I even saw a shooting star from the balcony. It is a quiet Accommodation where I could relax and unwind. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Whether in the lobby, guest room, restaurant, or large public bath, we enjoyed breathtaking ocean views throughout our stay. The warm hospitality and many unique services won us over right away—it was our first visit, but we quickly became fans. We’d love to return again soon.

Last year, I stayed here with my parents, who use wheelchairs, and we were truly well taken care of. I wanted to bring them to the Onsen they love while they were recuperating, and we chose this place because the Room had a bath and it was barrier-free. The Room was very relaxing, and the food was exceptional—my parents kept saying how delicious it was as they ate with such joy. Late at night, my father and I also enjoyed the ramen snack service and ice cream together. After that, my father passed away, so this year we stayed again in his memory. At dinner, you kindly prepared a set meal for him with rice and miso soup among other items. I was deeply moved by this unexpected gesture and couldn’t hold back my tears. We displayed his photo, shared memories of him, and enjoyed the meal. The Facility is wonderful, but above all else, thank you for your heartfelt hospitality. I would love to stay again!

The property was quiet, and I was able to relax very comfortably. The Onsen was also a milky white sulfur spring, and it felt like it would be good for the body. It was a Hotel that made me want to visit again.

This was our fourth stay. We usually come with our kids for about three nights, and there’s never a shortage of daytime activities—pool time, crafts, fishing, table tennis, and ceramic painting. This time we also went hiking and visited the herb garden. After working up a sweat, we could soak in the Onsen anytime, and it was wonderful that the lounge was almost always available to use. We visit during summer vacation and at year-end. Since we don’t have a family home to return to, this place feels like one for us. We’ll definitely be back again—thank you in advance.

We stayed as a couple with our 0-year-old baby. From check-in, they took a photo of the three of us and provided toys for our child. At dinner, our child got sleepy, and when we asked for a floor cushion, they kindly brought one right away. During the koto performance, they even played children’s songs, and our daughter seemed to really enjoy it. Traveling with a child can be challenging from the very start when choosing an Accommodation, but everyone was truly kind to us. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

Surrounded by magnificent nature, we truly had a wonderful time. The view from the Room was beautiful and really made us feel we were in the gorge. We were grateful that you accommodated our request to take an early-morning walk. While walking early in the morning, we could hear birds and many other sounds, and it was very satisfying to watch trains passing by as well. Along the way, we heard crows calling, and when we called back, it echoed through the gorge—it was fun. We were also surprised that trains were running so early, but it was a truly happy time enjoying nature at its best. The meals were delicious, and thanks to the thoughtful staff, our family had a great time together. The bath was an Onsen that left our skin feeling smooth and helped us relax deeply. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of dishes using local ingredients—we really appreciated it. Thank you for such an enjoyable day.

Since there were no vacancies at other facilities, I made a Reservation. I wasn’t expecting much because it wasn’t a high-priced property, but the meals and the view from the restaurant were wonderful. However, the coffee machine used powdered milk and it tasted terrible. I’d like to visit again if I have the chance.

Because I rarely have the chance to travel with family or close friends, I usually travel alone. Soaking in the Onsen helps me clear my mind. Enjoying delicious food is a true happiness. What’s more, Shin Tsuta brings me peace, so I return again and again. This is very important to me. The sense of calm and fulfillment I feel is thanks to the warmth and character of each and every member of your staff. That calm and fulfillment also makes me feel as if it restores my purity. When I get home, I already want to go back to Shin Tsuta—like when I was young, after seeing my sweetheart and returning to the dormitory, I immediately wanted to see them again.

My mother stayed with you on this occasion with three friends. She told me that everything—the Room, the Onsen, and the meals—was outstanding. To celebrate her 77th birthday, you prepared a purple hood and vest for photos and also provided celebratory red rice buns, which made for wonderful memories, and she is truly grateful. Although the three of them travel to many places, they were deeply impressed by your exceptional hospitality. Thank you very much.

The meals were delicious, and having a private family bath allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. I was happy that yukata-style loungewear was provided. I did feel the waistband elastic could have been a bit tighter, but it was still comfortable to wear. We could sense thoughtful attention in many little details, which made us feel warmly welcomed. We truly felt your wonderful service and hospitality throughout our stay. The location, the meals, the baths, and all of the staff were genuinely excellent. You even prepared kaiseki cuisine for our 9-year-old son and accommodated a change to our breakfast time. Both the dinner kaiseki and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and it was clear how much care and effort went into them.

This was my second stay, and this time I visited in summer. The Room was much larger than last time and seemed newly renovated—a Japanese-Western style Room with beds. Dinner and breakfast were served in a private room in a separate building, the same as before. This time it was a summer-style kaiseki featuring sweetfish (ayu). (In winter, it’s wild boar hot pot.) The open-air bath in the Room was also great. There are two large public baths; my favorite is the one with hot spring water cascading like a waterfall, which is used as the men’s bath at night and the women’s bath in the morning. I was even more satisfied than last time. Guests ranged from families with children to couples and married couples. Even the walk from the parking lot to the Room has a charming atmosphere, so I can recommend it. The service is very polite as well. (It seems staff change between dinner and breakfast—there were lots of “mom”-type staff members in the morning.) You’ll find tanuki figures all around. Also, the vending machines are reasonably priced, and it was nice that there were bottled drinks for each guest plus a thermos of iced water in the Room. (So you don’t need to buy water beforehand.) *Since you can’t tell the exact Room layout at Reservation, if you care about futons vs beds or whether there is a partition for the bath area, it may be best to call and confirm.* (The Room we had last time in February 2025 had futons, and if you opened the curtain by the open-air bath you could be seen. This time we had a Western-style bedroom with beds, and there was also a door/wooden screen by the open-air bath—so there were differences. It’s possible renovations have been done since then.)

I travel to Ise-Shima at least once a year. Each time, I look for an Accommodation with a private open-air Onsen bath in the Room. This stay at Haifu was truly wonderful—one of the best I’ve experienced. This time, we stayed in a special suite. First of all, taking a boat to reach the Accommodation really heightened the sense of being on a trip, and I couldn’t stop feeling excited. The Accommodation was beautiful and kept very clean, and the staff were excellent. The Room had an open-air bath with an ocean view. There is also frosted sliding glass that can be used as a privacy screen from outside. Soaking in the Onsen while watching the full moon and stars and listening to the sound of the sea was incredible. We were also able to enjoy our meals slowly in a private dining room. Both the taste and presentation were top-class. Haifu is an Accommodation you’ll definitely want to return to. I hope to stay again soon, and I look forward to visiting again then.

The building is old, but it felt clean. There were paintings displayed everywhere, which was lovely. The Hotel staff were also very courteous. However, after checking out, I stopped by again in the evening because I decided there was a souvenir from the Hotel that I wanted to buy. When I told a man at the front desk—someone I had not seen before—that I was not a guest with a Reservation for that day, his attitude felt a bit cold, so I deducted one star. The female front desk staff were all polite and helpful. Thank you very much.

I’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I treated myself to a Multiple Night Stay solo to truly relax. I’m so glad I chose this place! I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans in Japan and abroad, and this has become one of my top three favorites. Everything used throughout the Hotel is carefully selected and meticulously maintained. The staff were warm and kind in such a natural way—it was genuinely soothing. And the food—absolutely unforgettable! I had all three meals here, and if only I had another stomach, I would have loved to try even more from the menu. There were plenty of fresh local vegetables; everything was truly delicious, beautifully presented with great taste, and above all, you could feel the chef’s love in every dish. It makes perfect sense that so many guests return again and again. It was hot in midsummer, but I rented an e-bike, rode to the beach, and went for a swim. Just as rumored, the water was crystal clear—the beach was stunning—and it left me feeling completely refreshed. I will definitely come back in another season.
