This was my second stay. The moment I stepped through the entrance, it felt like a different world. The meals were delicious, the staff’s hospitality and manners were excellent, and our Room was upgraded—everything was taken care of. I would love to stay again. I’m also looking forward to trying the open-air bath next time. Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience.

It was convenient to take the JR train from New Chitose Airport to Otaru, and from the station you can walk there through the covered arcade. The canal is also within easy walking distance, and the former Bank of Japan Otaru Branch is nearby as well—great location. The Room was simple, and amenities such as hair ties were provided in the Room. However, the vanity area in the Room had a slight musty smell. The soup curry at breakfast was excellent. You can make your own Eggs Benedict, which our child really enjoyed. The vegetable salad was fresh, and the fruit—especially blueberries and plums—was very tasty. Since it was during summer vacation, there was a line for breakfast, so it’s best to go as early as possible. The night parfait on the 11th floor had a great atmosphere and looked adorable—we loved it—but it wasn’t clear whether certain time slots or a Reservation were required. It seems to be only for one hour starting at 8:00 PM, and making a Reservation is recommended.

Thank you very much for taking such wonderful care of us. This was a truly top-tier Accommodation that exceeded all expectations. I understand you are now in your 18th generation—when it comes to Onsen Accommodations, nothing compares to a long-established inn. Of course, both the large public bath and the in-Room bath are fed directly from the source with free-flowing spring water. The staff were exceptionally attentive—so much so that we almost felt apologetic for receiving such kindness. Above all, the dining was outstanding, far beyond anything we had imagined. The tableware was also beautiful throughout, including pieces inspired by Rosanjin’s works, making each meal a delight not only for the palate but also for the eyes. The Kaga cuisine was delicately seasoned yet deeply flavorful. Everything was immaculately cleaned, and the view from the window was truly soothing. While preserving the charm of this historic inn, the property has been beautifully renewed with touches of contemporary art woven in seamlessly. Naturally, many Rosanjin works are displayed throughout the building as well, and they were well worth seeing. I also suspect many guests may not notice this—but in the lobby, Rooms, and bathing areas: there are countless chairs everywhere, and most appear to be high-end pieces. I can only imagine how much has been invested overall; especially the chair inside the elevator must be quite expensive. Even details like lighting and clocks have clearly been chosen with great care. We visited with very high expectations for an Onsen Accommodation, yet everything surpassed them by a wide margin—truly impressive. We would love to return again soon.

A relocated samurai residence Accommodation that appears tucked away in the mountains. The Room was very spacious and spotless, with thoughtful touches throughout and plenty of cherry-bark craftsmanship—exceptionally comfortable, and I couldn’t stop admiring it. On the Room terrace, I relaxed while listening to insects and birds, and the private open-air Onsen bath was wonderfully soothing. The meals were also absolutely delicious. Thank you to all the staff for your warm hospitality.

Everything was perfect in every way. The setting, cleanliness, and the delicious dinner and breakfast were all wonderful. It was also fun that each Room we stayed in was different. Even though it was midsummer, the garden flowers were in full bloom like a picture—truly impressive. This time we traveled from Yuda to Hagi and then Matsue, but next time we would like to come to Hagi and stay longer at a relaxed pace.

We arrived in the evening and chose the plan with two meals included. The only convenience store within walking distance is a Lawson about 10–15 minutes away. Since you have to cross a national highway at night, it feels far. We were glad we added meals. The carefully prepared dishes were unique both to look at and to taste, and we really enjoyed them. I definitely recommend adding meals. We went early in the morning to Ritsuunkyo, came back for breakfast, rested in our Room, and then hiked up Takeda Castle; being able to take breaks along the way was great. This is a recommended Accommodation. Since it is an old traditional house Hotel, I would not recommend it to those who cannot enjoy an older building or who expect perfect Facilities.

The luxury of having an open-air bath in the Room. I found myself soaking again and again—at night, in the middle of the night, and in the morning. The meals were beautifully presented and more than plentiful, and I also enjoyed a variety of local sake. And there was the coolness unique to the highlands. In every way, it was a wonderful trip where I truly felt relaxed and unhurried. Thank you very much.

The Hotel has a wonderful overall atmosphere, and everything was kept very clean, so I had a comfortable stay. From the warm welcome to the front desk service and the staff during meals, everything was excellent. Thanks to you, I had a truly pleasant time—thank you very much. Mt. Fuji from the bath, Mt. Fuji from the guest room, and Mt. Fuji while enjoying breakfast. Although the sky was cloudy, Mt. Fuji appearing now and then was breathtaking. I chose the Western-style breakfast, and everything was delicious—I left completely full in the morning. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

At the breakfast buffet, the chef prepared dashimaki tamago and onigiri on the spot (you can choose the fillings), and I was happy to enjoy them freshly made. Today’s miso soup had clams in it, with a rich clam broth—it was delicious and comforting. There was a wide variety of dishes and desserts, including konjac-based items and Ota’s famous yakisoba, so choosing was fun and exciting. I’d love to stay again.

My husband, daughter, and I travel to Hokkaido every year, and this time we visited Jozankei Onsen for the first time. We had imagined it as an Onsen area popular with large tour groups, but this Ryokan was run by a small team and their service was outstanding. It was the first time in a while that we truly enjoyed both our stay and delicious meals at a Ryokan. Not only the Japanese staff but also the international staff were highly professional in the way they spoke and in their knowledge of the cuisine (ingredients, cooking methods, etc.), and you could clearly see how diligently they are always learning. The lounge on the second floor offered light snacks, late-night bites, and tasty drinks throughout the day, which we enjoyed after bathing. The three of us stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. We have a few minor comments about how the Room is partitioned and that there is no screen on the open-air bath window, but the free-flowing hot spring water from the source was excellent. We didn’t know there was such a Ryokan in Jozankei Onsen where individual travelers could enjoy themselves so much. We would love to visit again in another season.

We stayed at Chalet Ivy Jozankei for our honeymoon. When we arrived, we were a little surprised by the steep downhill slope, but a staff member quickly came over and helped carry our luggage, which was a huge help. The mango tea served at check-in was delicious, and we felt warmly welcomed. All of the staff were kind and attentive, and together with the calm atmosphere throughout the Hotel, it made for a truly relaxing stay both physically and mentally. The lounge had a wonderful view, and since it was relatively quiet, we were able to enjoy window seats many times. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and very satisfying. We used the bath in our Room about four or five times, and the public bath was often quiet as well, so we could take our time enjoying a relaxing soak on our own. Even after check-out, they drove us to the bus stop, and we were impressed by their thoughtful service down to every detail. Thanks to the heartfelt hospitality of the staff and the comfortable Facility environment, it was an exceptionally fulfilling stay. We would love to stay again.

About a 2-hour trip by bus transfers from Kinugawa Onsen Station. I was hesitant because I’d be traveling by public transportation and worried about the transfers, but I decided to make a Reservation and spent my summer vacation here alone. I reserved a Room in the main building with shared washbasin and toilet, and it was well maintained and very clean. The baths included an indoor bath and a women’s open-air bath, and I also tried the mixed-gender bath while wrapped in a bath towel. The bath near the waterfall felt immersive and was great, but the stairs are steep, so please be careful at night. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, made with local ingredients. It seems you can get refills of rice, but there was no 안내; I would have appreciated being told. At night, a cricket (?) appeared in my Room, and I looked for insect spray but couldn’t find any… There’s no internal phone to reach the front desk from the Room, and the front desk is only open until 20:00... There were also unfamiliar bugs on the window screen—if you’re afraid of insects, summer might be tough.

We had a comfortable and wonderful stay. Each dish was carefully prepared, and we were very satisfied. The Room was also kept beautifully clean, allowing us to relax and unwind in a calm atmosphere. Next time, we would love to visit again in a different season.

We stayed here for a family trip. There were plenty of kid-friendly facilities such as the pool, illuminations, and a playroom, and we had a great time! Our children were thrilled and kept saying, “We want to come again,” so we were very satisfied as parents. The Onsen was wonderful, and we really appreciated having unlimited towels available at both the Onsen and the pool—it made everything comfortable and stress-free. The staff were also polite and kind. The only thing that bothered us was having to wait for the elevator at times. As for dining, there were occasional lines at dinner buffet stations where chefs cook in front of you, but it wasn’t a big issue. At breakfast, since it’s split into two time slots, there were lines during our time; however, I think that’s unavoidable during busy mornings. It was a lovely Hotel that made us want to return!

We chose the assigned Room, and it was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous, offering us drinks and even taking photos for us after checkout, which made us feel truly welcomed. As part of the Accommodation was under renovation, they apologized for any inconvenience and even gave us some sweets. We would definitely like to stay again.

The location was convenient from the station, set just off the main road, and it was quiet at night. The Room had a stylish interior and was very clean. Above all, the staff’s smiles and service were outstanding. In the evening, we made a Reservation for the buffet. It was so delicious that we were truly impressed. The food was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The tables were well spaced, so we could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. Breakfast was also delicious—we ate a lot! I’ve stayed in many places in Tokyo, but this one was my favorite overall for value for money, service, and food. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Tokyo. Thank you very much.

I stayed here during my summer vacation. The moment I entered the Room, I was captivated by the warm, wood-filled space. The view of lush green trees through the wooden-framed windows helped me forget the busyness of everyday life, and I was able to relax in quiet comfort while lying on the cushioned sofa by the window. The view from the semi-open-air bath was also beautiful and incredibly relaxing. It truly was a Room with an outstanding view. I enjoyed both Japanese and French cuisine, and both were delicious with gentle, wholesome flavors. The rice balls prepared as a late-night snack were also excellent. All of the staff were kind and attentive, and I truly appreciated that they even delivered an item I forgot after checkout to my home. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again!

We stayed for two nights. There were four adults in one Room (Garden Twin), but even with four beds it didn’t feel cramped, and we were able to relax comfortably. Since it was a family trip, the spacious open closet was also great for preventing forgotten items. Each bed had its own power outlets, which was extremely convenient. We expected a garden-side Room, but we could also see the ocean from the balcony, which was wonderful. I also personally liked that you can choose only the services you need at check-in. Since I usually carry a water bottle, I really appreciated the water dispenser service available in the Hotel. We were able to enjoy plenty of delicious water. It would have been nice if the provided pitcher were a bit larger, but there were two so it wasn’t inconvenient. They were acrylic, so there was no worry about breaking when carrying them around, and they looked stylish as well. It was also fun to boil water in the cute De’Longhi thermos kettle and enjoy tea. As is common at many Resort Hotels these days, the pajamas here were very comfortable and helped me sleep soundly. A small detail, but both the Room trash bin and the bathroom trash bin had liners properly fitted, which made them easy to use. Breakfast around 8:00 was slightly crowded and there was some waiting time, but once we were seated we could relax at ease. We chose Western-style breakfast on day one and Japanese-style on day two; both were delicious and very filling. For dinner we chose BBQ, and on the second night they changed up the ingredients so we could enjoy something different. The carefully selected seafood and meat were all delicious, and there was more than enough food including rice and dessert. On the second night it felt like we had a private setting, and we truly appreciated all of the staff’s help. There is also a large public bath; it wasn’t an Onsen, but it was clean and relaxing, so we were satisfied. All of the staff members were pleasant as well—they spoke to us thoughtfully when needed without being intrusive—so we had a very comfortable stay. The Facility offerings and services felt just right—not too much or too little—and it felt like a Hotel where you can relax at your own pace. It rained on our first day, but early on our second morning there was sunshower weather and we got to see a rainbow. We’d love to come back in another season to enjoy both morning and evening ocean views again.

This stay was even more comfortable than usual. We arrived early, but right after check-in we were informed that our Room was ready, and the staff handled everything flexibly. The Room was as clean as ever, and the bath was still wonderful, but this time the meals were improved in both quality and taste. The restaurant was not crowded, and we received attentive service—likely thanks to how well the dining Reservation times were arranged. I felt a real depth in how the staff maintained an appropriate distance while still being considerate. The care shown by an experienced female staff member and a key male staff member reached every detail. The younger staff were also very pleasant, and their strong teamwork made our stay extremely comfortable. Personally, I keep coming back to Kinugawa because the Rooms are close to the baths, and this time was better than ever. I have already made a Reservation for late summer as well. My rating reflects the price point.

From the warm welcome to the heartfelt send-off, we were truly satisfied with the hospitality. With the carefully designed interior and a beautiful garden view, we could freely enjoy a variety of delicious Ureshino cold teas, which helped us forget the heat. Dinner was delicately prepared with deep flavors and was beautiful to look at; even my mother, who has visited Onsen all over The whole country, was deeply moved. The bath in our Room was also a continuously flowing Onsen, and it felt wonderful. All of the staff were genuinely kind, and their smiles were soothing as well.
