This was a wonderful Accommodation that made my first trip to Niigata truly special. While the building and furnishings showed their age, there were programs where we could enjoy local culture, such as shamisen performances and readings about the snow country, and thoughtful amenities like sake lees face packs, Japanese sake, and coffee, making it an Accommodation where we could fully enjoy Yuzawa. All of the staff, as well as the shamisen instructor, were outstanding. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

The Room is new, and the bathroom area is spotless. The staff were very courteous, and above all, I was amazed by the high quality of the breakfast. With a focus on locally sourced ingredients, there were also local specialties such as chilled soup (hiyajiru), chicken nanban, and shiso tofu, plus even a trolley service—quality you wouldn’t expect from a Business Hotel. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the station, but close to the downtown area; it was a wonderful Hotel where I’d definitely like to stay again when I visit Miyazaki next time.

Not only were the meals and the wonderful Onsen outstanding, but I was also deeply comforted by the staff’s hospitality. Their warm smiles and sincere service reminded me that people can be healed by people. I would love to visit again in winter. The coffee after breakfast was delicious, and I could really feel the proprietress’s attention to detail. It became a memorable trip to Akita. Thank you very much.

My parents stayed here because they had been interested in it for a while. Since it was a weekday, it was fairly quiet and they were able to relax. They were also happy that other older guests were using the pool too, so they felt comfortable using it without hesitation, and they said the food was beautifully presented and delicious!

We had the pleasure of enjoying the private dinner Plan at Soro Residence. The cuisine was not only delicious, but each dish was beautifully presented like a work of art. The flowers arranged to match the dishes and the floral decorations throughout the Room were truly wonderful, creating a special space that felt extraordinary. The wine pairing was also exceptional—each time we paired a sip of wine after a bite, both were elevated, and we were repeatedly moved by how much the flavors opened up. In addition, all staff provided warm and attentive hospitality from start to finish, allowing us to spend a comfortable and luxurious time. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience.

We booked the “Chef’s Choice Kura Twin” Plan and stayed in Room 101 of the MOSO building. The Room was a very comfortable size for two people. The beams, the safe room, and the steep stairs were all experiences you don’t usually get to have, so they felt truly special. The dinner we had been looking forward to was delicious. In particular, the rich flavor of Togeshita beef and the vivid colors of the corn bavarois appetizer left a strong impression. We chose an anniversary Plan, and we were delighted to see our requested message along with a ribbon. At breakfast as well, staff offered refills at just the right time, and they also knew we were staying on an anniversary Plan and kindly took photos for us—making it a very pleasant time. It was a stay that made us feel truly welcomed—both by the Accommodation and by the town! We also loved the Takehara Campbell juice listed on the lounge and restaurant drink menus. It’s grape juice, but I’d never tasted one with such clarity before. We had it again at a roadside station after checkout—and even bought more to take home. A couple of small things we noticed: Dust had collected in the basket in the washroom. Each time we entered to use the sink, the toilet lid sensor reacted and opened automatically; we would prefer it without automatic opening/closing.

I stayed in the "Gakuajisai" room this time. Each room is separate, allowing for a very quiet and peaceful stay. However, as I did not thoroughly check during the Reservation process, I ended up booking a room with only an open-air bath and no indoor bath. The changing area was inconvenient to use; the floor got wet, making it difficult to put on my yukata. The meals were absolutely delicious. They featured plenty of seasonal ingredients, which left me completely satisfied. All the staff members were calm and provided courteous service.

This was my first stay here (date of visit: August 17), and it far exceeded all expectations—it was a truly wonderful experience. We arrived around 4:00 p.m., and the staff welcomed us with warm smiles. From the moment we arrived, even before check-in, we could already feel their exceptional hospitality. I was also impressed by their thoughtful attention when they told us “today’s sunset time” as they guided us to our Room. We took a walk along the beach right in front of the Accommodation before sunset, and the pleasant sea breeze made it the perfect refresh. After our walk, we enjoyed the bath in our Room with a view of the beach. The sunset over the Genkai Sea from there was simply breathtaking—an incredibly beautiful panorama that left us speechless! We also bathed at night and again in the morning; spending time surrounded by clear ocean views and soothing wave sounds was pure relaxation at its best. The sushi kaiseki dinner “MURASAKI” was outstanding from start to finish, filled with careful craftsmanship throughout. Every dish showcased seasonal ingredients beautifully—such as lightly seared grunt fish from Genkai, steamed longtooth grouper custard-style, and overnight-dried sweetfish whose charcoal aroma stood out wonderfully. The main course of Saga beef grilled on magnolia leaf with miso, a comparison tasting of three kinds of tuna, and tilefish served with citrus vinegar were all exquisite—and I was completely satisfied all the way through dessert (Karatsu milk and cheese pudding). Breakfast surprised me even more. Beautifully arranged dishes were presented in a two-tiered jubako box; everything tasted amazing, with a level of luxury and quality far beyond what you’d expect from “breakfast.” Thanks to how attentively and kindly the staff checked on us throughout, we started our day feeling truly happy. With its location, spectacular baths with incredible views, superb cuisine, and warm hospitality—all perfectly delivered—this is an exceptional Accommodation. I will definitely return.

Revisited on December 12, 2025. As last year, we thoroughly enjoyed Matsuba crab. Since female crab is only available until the end of the year, we visited in December. We ordered an additional female crab and upgraded the dried fish at breakfast to nodoguro. This time, we also made a Reservation for a private Onsen bath to fully enjoy the Onsen. The private bath was excellent—if there’s availability, I highly recommend trying it. Our Room this time was Oborozuki, and the semi-open-air bath in the Room allows you to adjust the depth. This was very convenient: keep it shallow when getting in and out, and make it deeper when soaking. Lastly, it seems some guests found the executive chef’s performance a bit overbearing, but it didn’t bother me at all—perhaps because I’ve experienced much flashier performances overseas many times. We’d like to return again next year.

There’s no welcome drink—check-in is simple. However, the Room does have snacks and tea. I found it a bit inconvenient that there was only one key. The dining area is refined, and I really enjoyed the salt-grilled ayu cooked over the irori right in front of us. That said, there was no explanation at the start that certain alcoholic drinks were all-you-can-drink, so I would have appreciated a brief note upfront. I asked later and then ordered. Also, since your hands get messy when eating ayu, it would be nice to have an extra hand towel. Overall, the service felt minimal for the price. Still, everything was very clean, the renovations were nicely done, and the food was delicious—so I was very satisfied overall. It’s an Accommodation I’d like to stay at again.

I wanted to support a locally run, family-owned Accommodation, so I chose Irifune this time. The moment I stepped inside from the entrance, I was thrilled! After leaving the large public bath in the morning, I relaxed in the lobby with a cup of coffee. Spending unhurried time in the lobby while enjoying the traditional old house atmosphere was wonderful. The Room, the private bath in the Room, and the meals—everything was outstanding! I also purchased a pair of geta sandals. From now on, every time I wear them, I’ll remember Irifune and enjoy that lingering feeling in my everyday life. If I use them as indoor slippers, I’ll have more chances to wear them, so I plan to use them indoors. To all the staff: when I come back to Kumamoto, Irifune will be my only choice for a Reservation! This was our first trip together, and we stayed here to celebrate her birthday. The Room and service were excellent, but above all, we were truly impressed by the meals. Both breakfast and dinner were a wonderful experience. We would definitely like to stay again.

The Okinawa Fair and the tuna carving show were amazing! This was our second visit during summer vacation, and it was so delicious that we’d love for you to hold it again next year. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable, and no matter how many times we visit in a year, we never get tired of it. The warm smiles and attentive hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff are so comforting and relaxing that every time we come, we find ourselves wanting to return again soon. We’ll be back before the end of the year—thank you very much.

When visiting Huis Ten Bosch, I stayed at Hotel Nikko Huis Ten Bosch. This time, I booked a Plan that included both the stay and a one-day passport for Huis Ten Bosch, and it cost 26,100 yen for two people in one Room. With the Accommodation located right next to the park and the passport included at this price, it felt like an excellent deal. The Room showed a bit of age in places, but it was well cleaned and very tidy. I had a comfortable stay with nothing in particular to complain about. Breakfast was buffet-style with a wide variety of options and generous portions. They also offered local dishes, which was a nice way to experience Nagasaki flavors. Everything was delicious, and I could eat well from the morning. Another great feature is the large public bath. After walking around Huis Ten Bosch all day, it was relaxing to soak and ease my fatigue. The bath area also had plenty of basic skincare amenities available, which made it convenient to use with almost no need to bring anything. These thoughtful touches left a great impression. Overall, between the great location, good value with the one-day passport included, tasty breakfast, and the large public bath, it was a very satisfying stay. If you want to fully enjoy Huis Ten Bosch, this is a convenient Hotel I would recommend.

The bath and Room were clean and comfortable, and all the staff were very kind. Both dinner and breakfast had just the right seasoning and portions, and everything was delicious. It would be perfect if breakfast included a small dessert bite and after-meal coffee. This was a Ryokan I would definitely like to stay at again and recommend to friends. It was a wonderful Hotel where we could truly enjoy Lake Biwa. The Room offered a panoramic view of Lake Biwa and felt incredibly open and airy. The interior also had a luxurious touch, and we genuinely enjoyed simply spending time in the Room. All of the staff provided excellent service, proactively checking in with us, so we never had any trouble during our stay. The Onsen was especially memorable. The water quality was excellent, and the view of Lake Biwa from the open-air bath was exceptional. On the day we stayed, a crescent moon reflected on the lake’s surface, creating an enchanting scene. The amenities were also high quality. We were very satisfied with the all-inclusive lounge as well. With its high ceilings and spacious atmosphere, enjoying drinks freely while looking out over Lake Biwa was truly fantastic. Dinner featured an outstanding full-course Omi beef meal—so much so that it felt like great value for what you get. There was also a wide selection of drinks, and we were especially happy to see many local sake options available. They paired perfectly with the fresh ingredients. Breakfast was a buffet featuring locally sourced ingredients with plenty of variety. The restaurant had ample seating, so we could dine comfortably without waiting while enjoying views of Lake Biwa. If I had one request, it would be helpful to have a Plan without dinner as an option—this would make it easier for guests on a Multiple Night Stay to enjoy dining out for one evening. For that reason, we changed our stay from two nights to one night this time; however, after actually staying here, it was such an excellent Hotel that we regretted not booking a Multiple Night Stay. Next time, we would definitely like to stay for multiple nights.

It was raining when we arrived, and the nearby parking lots were full, but staff were waiting at the entrance and assisted us. The Onsen had different temperatures in each bath, so we could relax at our own pace. The water quality was also excellent. The meals focused on locally sourced ingredients, and we enjoyed a wide variety of dishes. We had a very relaxing stay.

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. In short, it was a wonderful stay that far exceeded our expectations, and we are truly grateful. Not only were the atmosphere of the Accommodation and the Onsen excellent, but above all, we were deeply moved by the warm and attentive hospitality of all the staff. They took great care of us throughout our stay, and my husband kept saying how glad he was that we came. Each dish was prepared with great care, beautifully presented, and perfect for a special-occasion dinner. Thanks to you, we were able to create unforgettable birthday memories. We would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

My 84-year-old mother wanted to eat conger eel, so the three of us visited together with my niece. We had a Reservation for the Yama-no-Iori Room, but since there was a cancellation, we were upgraded to a Room with an open-air bath, which made us very happy. There were many international staff members, and their service was truly pleasant and welcoming. The food was consistently delicious as always—nothing to complain about. We enjoyed conger eel in many different dishes: sashimi, grilled, shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, and more. The salt-grilled sweetfish was also excellent, and it was my first time trying sweetfish rice—delicious and very satisfying. My mother and I have visited several times before; it was my niece’s first visit, but she really liked it too, which we were glad to see. Just one thing: my niece said the pillow was a bit low, which was the only disappointment. We will be back again in October for the matsutake dishes with three families—my parents’ family and my sister and her husband’s family as well. Thank you very much!

Every year during the Obon holiday season, I stay here to avoid the crowds. It feels like there are more tourists each year, but it still never feels crowded, and I love being able to relax and fully enjoy nature. This year, a typhoon caused a power outage across the entire area on our first day, and the electricity went out around 7:00 PM right at dinnertime. It was inconvenient in many ways, but the meal was still lavish and delicious, and during the outage we managed with other guests using our phone lights. However, it wasn’t just that we couldn’t use electricity—there was no air conditioning, running water, or even toilets available until power was restored at 11:00 PM, which honestly made us anxious. Even so, the staff repeatedly brought us drinking water and even offered Shuttle Service by car to nearby restrooms in a small pocket park so we wouldn’t feel uneasy. Their warm support truly meant a lot to us. After the power came back on—even though it was late at night—they came to inspect the open-air bath in our Room as well. Thanks to that, we could relax with peace of mind in the Onsen and go to sleep feeling refreshed. Because they have their own private hot spring source, hot water pours into the in-room open-air bath with incredible force nonstop. I couldn’t help asking, “Is it really okay to let it run this much?!”—and they told me this is one of Tomiya’s proud features. We gratefully enjoyed the open-air bath many times and my skin felt wonderfully smooth. When you stay two nights, the menu changes as well—and everything is so luxurious you can hardly finish it all. Between the food and especially the warm hospitality from everyone on staff, we had another wonderful two-night stay. Because there aren’t many tourist attractions nearby, you can enjoy a truly luxurious trip focused on rest and refreshment without being rushed from place to place.
