It was great that I was able to find an Accommodation in Yamanaka Onsen, considering the rental car parking, my husband’s Accommodation, and a place for me to take a nap while I was on the KAGASPA Trail with him. Check-in was from 15:00, but you kindly let me in early so I could rest—thank you. Since I didn’t have time to enjoy the Onsen or anything else, I’m sorry that I can’t really share much feedback.

The facilities felt a bit dated, as expected from a public accommodation. The room was a combination of Japanese and Western styles. While the Japanese-style side showed some signs of aging, the Western-style side seemed to have been renovated and was excellent. Although our room did not have a private bath, the large communal bath was conveniently close (it seems they accommodated our request for proximity due to my mother’s mobility issues). The room's location near both the dining area and the bath on the first floor was very convenient. The toilet and washroom were clean, making for a comfortable stay. The communal bath was also wonderful. The indoor bath had separate areas for washing and soaking, providing a peaceful experience when in the tub. The outdoor bath offered stunning views of autumn-colored mountains while listening to the gentle sound of a nearby stream—an exceptional experience available even late at night. Compared to the indoor baths, the outdoor baths were slightly cooler, perhaps designed for longer soaks. Above all else, however, it was the food that stood out as extraordinary! Despite jokingly mentioning that Gunma only has mushrooms, miso paste, and wild boar pork ("Inobuta"), these ingredients were crafted into delicious dishes with great care and creativity. The portions were generous; unfortunately, my elderly mother and wife couldn’t finish their meals entirely. The dishes made abundant use of fragrant mushrooms with mild yet flavorful seasoning—truly delightful! Miso paste seemed to be a local specialty here; its rich aroma enhanced various dishes beautifully. And then there’s sake! With around 40 varieties exclusively from Gunma breweries (if I recall correctly), choosing one can be overwhelming at first glance! We opted for their tasting set featuring five types (approximately 30ml each) priced at ¥1,500—and every single one tasted distinctively delicious! Individual glasses ranged between ¥600–¥800 per serving (about 180ml), making it hard not to deliberate over what next drink should follow! I particularly enjoyed "Hiraijo," while my wife preferred "Akagiyama," so we ordered another glass accordingly based on her choice afterward. A staff member who recommended these selections had extensive knowledge about sake which made conversations engaging throughout dinner service too! It’s no surprise this accommodation attracts many repeat visitors—it truly deserves such loyalty given how memorable our stay turned out overall. Thank you sincerely for providing us such an incredible travel experience!

The location is excellent for visiting Mikata Goko Terrace. The room faced the lake (or sea), offering a wonderful view. The open-air bath was particularly enjoyable. The quality of the onsen water was also very good. Although some reviews mentioned concerns about aging, the tatami mats were new, and the facility was well-maintained and clean, allowing for a very comfortable stay.

The quality exceeded the price. I was very satisfied.

On the third day of my solo trip from Tokyo to Saga, I stayed at Shunkeiya in Takeo Onsen. It is located right next to the Romon Gate, and the building is very clean and beautiful. They prepared a 14-tatami corner Room for me even though I was traveling alone, and dinner served in the Room was wonderfully varied and absolutely delicious. The attendant assigned to my Room was also excellent, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was superb. Even though I was on my own, they provided Shuttle Service to the station—an Accommodation where everything was thoughtfully taken care of. I love traveling and have stayed in many places, but considering how reasonably priced it is, I was satisfied with everything here. If it were in the Kanto area, I could visit often—it's a shame it’s not. Next time, I would definitely like to come again with my wife. This first solo trip became a truly wonderful memory for me.

This accommodation is located right next to a famous architectural accommodation in Shibu Onsen, in front of the ninth bath of the Sotoyu Meguri. It is an ideal location for enjoying the Sotoyu Meguri. The hospitality from all staff, including the proprietress, is exceptional, making it a very pleasant place to stay. While the guest rooms are slightly dated, the meals are impeccable in both variety and taste, and of course, the onsen water soothes deep into your body to relieve daily fatigue. For us as a couple, this accommodation exceeded our expectations.

Visiting Kumamoto Castle has long been my wife's dream. The moment we entered the Room and opened the curtains, it became a memory to cherish for a lifetime. The view of "the castle and cherry blossoms" is truly breathtaking.

For dinner, my spouse and I ordered shabu-shabu and a Hida beef steak, and both were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The birthday surprise plate was adorable, and I got to celebrate my birthday for the first time in a while. The Onsen left my skin feeling silky smooth. For breakfast, the hoba miso had a pleasant sweetness and was so tasty that I ended up eating too much rice. Thank you for the wonderful meals and the happy time.

We stayed in a popular riverside Room. From the window, we could see Inuyama Castle, and at night the illuminated castle was truly wonderful. The meals were very satisfying, with many delicious dishes. We would like to stay again.

[Note: Room Condition] I stayed for a 4-night Multiple Night Stay in a 15-tatami Japanese-style Room with No Meals Included. It felt like using a futon set up in a small banquet hall of a day-use Onsen Facility. I was initially concerned that there was no toilet in the Room, but it was clean and I didn’t run into anyone during my stay, so it wasn’t an issue. Fresh towels, amenities, and very tasty tea snacks were delivered every day. For dinner, I could freely choose depending on my mood—warming up convenience-store food in the microwave or having meals delivered from the dining hall. If I asked, they brought cups and ice as well, and all the staff were pleasant, which made it very relaxing. I love traveling and have stayed at many Accommodations, but this became one of my favorites.

A very calm Accommodation where you can relax to the chorus of frogs. It has both a day-use Facility and overnight Accommodation on the same property. The Onsen is a mildly alkaline simple hot spring, gentle on the skin even with multiple baths—ideal for guests who want to soak several times during their stay. Dinner surprised me with its sheer volume—in a good way. Dish after dish keeps coming, so I recommend skipping lunch before you take it on (lol). You can fully enjoy Kumamoto specialties such as kuruma prawns, sea bream, and kibinago (silver-stripe round herring). The Facility itself is not a luxury Hotel, but that’s exactly what makes it appealing: a relaxed place loved by locals where you can truly unwind. If you’re tired of excessive service, this laid-back atmosphere will feel genuinely restful. Personally, I think in rural areas this kind of unpretentious comfort suits the setting better than luxury or over-the-top service. Given the amount of food, the pricing feels fair. There might also be demand for a slightly smaller meal at a lower price point; however, there are Airbnb options at similar prices even without meals, so I consider it reasonable overall. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance.

This time, as it was for skiing, I intentionally chose a very simple Room, so I apologize for not being able to give a high rating. I deeply appreciate the excellent service and meals provided at a very high level. Next time, I will take my time to enjoy my stay. Thank you very much.

Even during the busy Obon season, I was allowed to use a room by myself, and it was very comfortable. The staff were also pleasant, making it a welcoming Accommodation. The bath was spacious and very relaxing.

The staff were very kind, the meals were delicious, and I was able to enjoy a relaxing stay for one night. Thank you very much. I would like to visit more places in Nasu, so I plan to come again in autumn. Looking forward to staying with you again at that time!

It was my first time dining on a riverside platform, and I was truly impressed. Even at night, it was much more comfortable than the heat in the city—perhaps thanks to the surrounding greenery and the river. Since it’s by the river, I worried about insect bites, but there were none, which was a relief. I’d love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. The only disappointment was the large public bath. The women’s bath could fit four people, but the men’s bath could only fit two, so my husband said he had to soak quickly and get out in a hurry. If it were a bit larger, everything would have been perfect!

With a British-style exterior, the drinks available on the sofa at the front desk are soothing, and the dinner and breakfast are superb! The side vegetables have a deliciousness that cannot be tasted in the city, and each dish was very tasty. The room has a unit bath and is well-equipped with amenities, but there are several onsens nearby that I recommend. I was very satisfied with the very reasonable stay.

It was a truly wonderful Hotel. We are deeply grateful for the thoughtful care shown by the staff. Thank you for accommodating our difficult Shuttle Service request, for allowing us to enter the room even though we arrived early, and for serving both dinner and breakfast in a private room, which allowed us to enjoy a calm meal. As it was an inexpensive Plan, we feel very appreciative. We would love to visit again.

We stayed during the May holiday period. On the way, we got caught in traffic jams many times and ended up arriving close to 7:30 p.m. Since we had booked a Plan with dinner included, I felt very sorry, but they welcomed us without showing any displeasure and even offered kind words about the traffic, which made us feel at ease and able to relax. In particular, the slightly older female staff member at reception and the young female staff member in the dining room were wonderfully considerate. We also enjoyed hearing lots of local stories (such as delicacies from the Ariake Sea and why there are no terrace seats in Yanagawa due to mosquitoes), making it a very enjoyable stay. Because we had been eating a lot every day during Golden Week, we chose a minimal Plan without eel, but both dinner and breakfast were delicious—so much so that we thought it might have been worth stretching ourselves to choose a more lavish Plan. The Room was also clean and very nice. The only disappointment was an older female staff member in the dining room at dinner. Even though there was still food left, she tried to clear our plates without asking; we stopped her, but she almost did it again right afterward. I nearly told her to stop it already, but held back because the young staff member mentioned above was so excellent. The only drawback is that there is a big difference in service quality among staff; if you happen to get an unlucky one, your impression may change.

Once again this year, we were satisfied with the Accommodation, meals, and Onsen. We look forward to staying with you again next year.

The Onsen temperature and water quality were excellent, and we were very satisfied. There were many types of shampoo available, so we could try different ones—an amazing idea and a first-time experience for us! However, it was disappointing that only one towel was provided and reusing it was expected (additional towels cost extra). We’d like there to be no limit for overnight guests. The guest Room is old, but it’s a satisfying size. As for the air conditioning, there was no heating/cooling switch in each Room—only fan strength adjustment. After the Onsen it felt hot, so we opened the windows fully to cool down with outside air. The meals were delicious and the portions were just right—we finished everything (both of us are women in our 50s). Rice doesn’t come unless you ask for it, but there weren’t many staff members so it was hard to find the right timing. Amenities are available at the front desk, so you take what you need; I think that’s good because it avoids waste. There are yukata and samue as loungewear; we chose samue and that was the right choice. We usually bring our own loungewear when traveling, so we appreciated having less luggage. Overall, it was excellent! Also, we were happy with the welcome drink service (alcohol)—whisky or wine is fine—but we’d appreciate it even more if beer were available.
