I have stayed at several Accommodations in Kamisuwa Onsen before, but this Accommodation was the best. The breathtaking view from the Room and the spacious, open bath were outstanding. Dinner was served in a private room with a great atmosphere, and every dish was carefully prepared and delicious—you could really feel the chef’s thoughtfulness. The staff were also very courteous, and I had a wonderful time throughout my stay.

I stayed here twice a few years ago, and I was truly happy to be able to return after a long time. All of the staff were genuinely pleasant, and I had a very relaxing stay. In particular, thank you to Mr./Ms. H (I’m using an initial as I’m not sure if it’s okay to share the name) who assisted with my check-in. One thing only: I used FORNI for both dinner and breakfast. At dinner, my meat was upgraded, but I wasn’t asked about my preferred doneness. At breakfast, we were told it would be a choice of main dish plus a semi-buffet, but later we were informed that choosing the Japanese set would not include the semi-buffet, which was a bit disappointing. Even so, this is truly a wonderful Hotel. I look forward to visiting again.

Because our Room was on the 2nd floor, we were disappointed that we couldn’t see the koi in the pond. My wife is pregnant, and it was difficult because it was a long walk to the elevator. Not only in the garden but also around the open-air bath in the large public bath, many decorative stones were placed throughout, which made it very relaxing. I thought it was very rare to have an outdoor cold plunge bath for the sauna. Next time, we’d like to stay at the Ryokan longer and relax in the open-air bath.

As guests born in the Showa era, we found this wonderful Showa bubble–style Accommodation to be the best. It was spotlessly clean, and both the hot water and the meals were excellent. It was quiet, and we could relax at a leisurely pace. We will visit again together with trips to Oze and Fukiware Falls.

Everything was beautifully picture-perfect, and we spent two very peaceful days enjoying coffee and drinks. Even on a rainy day, the garden greenery and the pond’s surface looked even more vibrant, making for a wonderfully relaxing time. Thank you for arranging the birthday card. We would love to visit again.

We stayed here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. From before our stay, the team kindly helped us with menu requests and planning a surprise, which made us feel at ease and ready for the day. On the day, we were picked up at the nearest station with the Shuttle Service, and we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The Room atmosphere was wonderful—an exceptional space that truly felt like an escape from everyday life. The food was absolutely delicious, and we could tell how much care went into every dish. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding, and from our pre-stay communication through checkout, we were comfortable throughout. Our special anniversary became an unforgettable memory. We would love to stay again—this is an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

Everything exceeded our expectations in every way, and we had a very comfortable stay. If I had to mention one thing, it would be even better if there were a Shuttle Service from the nearest station.

After seeing on TV that many stays were being canceled due to the earthquake, I decided on the spot, “Then let’s go and make some summer vacation memories!” and made a same-day Reservation. The Room had a calm, pleasant atmosphere. Since it was the Room at the very end of the hall, we were able to relax without worrying about others even with children. I know it may depend on availability, but I truly appreciate your thoughtful consideration. Some of the staff were from overseas, but they made a sincere effort to speak polite Japanese and were very pleasant. Everyone was gentle and attentive, and we received wonderful hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen—both the large public bath and the private family bath. It helped us forget everyday noise and feel refreshed. This ended up being a long message, but it was truly a rewarding trip that left us completely satisfied. It reminded me how wonderful a Ryokan can be. Next time, I’d like to add meals as well and enjoy an even more relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

I made a reservation two days before my stay. Staying from Friday to Saturday, even with no meals included, I was satisfied with the price being under 7,000 yen. The antique-style furniture gave a sense of history and elegance, making it a lovely room. Although it was cold and snowing lightly, I strolled through the Japanese garden and found it to be a charming place. Choosing drinks (packs) and amenities was enjoyable and added to the experience. Recently, I've been staying at business hotels often, so staying here was a refreshing change of pace. The front desk staff were very pleasant—thank you!

This was my first stay at NIPPONIA in Kosuge Village—something I’d been hoping to do ever since I learned it was there, after visiting the village several times on touring trips. The space, renovated from a traditional house over 150 years old, is meticulously cared for in every detail and uniquely comfortable. From the entrance gate to the front area—and of course the Room itself—everything was wonderful, and I immediately felt at ease. I relaxed so much that I collapsed into bed early and missed the evening bonfire, which is my only regret (laugh). The thickly smoked beams, thoughtfully designed indirect lighting, a dining table suitable for working, a beautifully maintained garden with spring water running through it, chairs to enjoy the view and a solo hammock, a semi-open-air bath, and a large fluffy bed—everything was perfect. I was also impressed that instead of the cheap alcohol often found with “all-inclusive” plans, they offered genuinely recommended local alcoholic drinks and soft drinks along with small snacks. The staff’s kindness—waiting outside just for us in the heat—meant a lot. Walking around Kosuge was also fun. Everything was soothing. Just one thing: dinner. It was a luxurious course featuring river fish or pork in almost every dish, but there were rich sauces used throughout, which left my mouth and stomach feeling a bit tired. The fact that every dish felt like a main might be great for energetic younger guests; however, if there had been something lighter—like a refreshing salad using delicious local vegetables—to provide some contrast “in between,” each dish might have stood out even more. Overall it was an excellent experience that truly put me at ease. I got real rest here. Thank you very much.

This was my fifth visit to Tsukioka Onsen. It was my first stay at Akebono, but Tsukioka Onsen has excellent water quality, and Akebono’s baths were great as well. Since I stayed on the last day of a three-day weekend, it was quiet, and I could enjoy the spacious baths at a relaxed pace. The dinner looked like it would be neither too much nor too little in the photos at the time of Reservation, but in reality it was quite generous and left me very full. Everything was delicious. For breakfast, the side dishes felt like they were meant to go with rice, but they were also tasty—I even had seconds. The rice itself was excellent too, just as you’d expect from Niigata, famous for its rice.

The private open-air bath and sauna were absolutely amazing, and I felt completely refreshed with an Oropo after the cold plunge! The meals were also very satisfying, with plenty of ingredients from Yamanashi Prefecture. Since the Room was separated as well, it felt very private and relaxing without worrying about others. I’d love to come again.

We chose this Accommodation for our wedding anniversary, hoping for somewhere a little special this year. My husband and I are usually busy with our own schedules, and we’re often surprised by how little time we have to talk at home, but that day we ended up reminiscing about old memories the whole time (laugh). The staff were considerate and didn’t speak to us more than necessary, which made us feel they truly valued our time together. In the morning, we woke up early for a short walk and then returned to the Accommodation, and it was nice to head to breakfast without rushing. It became a wonderful anniversary memory.

This was my first time visiting Yugawara Onsen. All the staff were very courteous and cheerful, and I had a comfortable stay. The food was simply delicious!! The presentation was enjoyable, and everything tasted great—I was very satisfied. The Onsen water was on the mild side, which suited me since I’m not good with very hot baths, so I could soak a little longer. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. I also liked that there was a café area with jazz playing.

It was a truly wonderful Hotel. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt a sense of calm and dignified atmosphere. The cleanliness throughout the building, the color tones of the furniture and interiors, the beauty of the design, and the carefully arranged details all conveyed the Hotel’s overall elegance. What impressed me most was the warmth of the staff. Their demeanor and choice of words reflected outstanding hospitality, allowing me to relax and enjoy my stay with peace of mind. Breakfast was also excellent—not only for the food itself, but also because it could be enjoyed slowly in a serene setting. It felt like one of the great highlights of staying at this Hotel. This Hotel is not simply a place to stay; it is a place to step away from everyday life and spend quiet time in refined comfort. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to take their time enjoying their stay while appreciating its beautiful atmosphere and distinctive world that the staff so carefully preserve. I sincerely thank all staff members for providing such a wonderful space and service. I would love to visit again. However, some guests’ behavior was disappointing. At minimum, basic manners matter—no swimming in the large public bath; no shouting by adults or children; no arguing or yelling between parents; no running in the breakfast area. Even though it was only one night, there was a significant gap between guests who wanted to enjoy a quiet, high-quality environment and those without manners. With both groups mixed together, it is true that there were many moments when I could not fully enjoy what should have been such a dignified and lovely atmosphere. The food, cleanliness, ambiance, elegance, professionalism at reception, quality of furnishings, and housekeeping (except for parts related to air conditioning within the building) were all excellent and very satisfying. This is an issue on our side as guests. Please follow basic etiquette in shared spaces: do not run (especially in the breakfast area), do not shout, do not argue loudly even as parents—and keep your voices down. Unfortunately there were many guests who did not observe these basics. I especially wish people would refrain from swimming in the large public bath. There were also children splashing water around with wash buckets—yet some parents did not correct them; instead they swam together with their children while being loud. It felt chaotic. I also did not want to witness arguments between parents. I do not want to hear shouting or yelling. If only guest behavior improved—but aside from that point, this Hotel is outstanding!

It was worth more than the price. We relaxed as a couple in the Onsen and were very satisfied with the delicious meals. Even my big-eating husband left completely full. The Facility is old, but the garden is beautiful, and we saw a family feeding the koi. The women’s bath is small, so we would be happy if you could rotate it between men and women.

The meals were delicious. The garden view from the Room was good. The Room was spacious and comfortable.

If possible, I’d rather not let too many people know about this incredibly great-value Accommodation. The food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful. This was my first stay in summer, and the pool was neither overcrowded nor too quiet—everything felt perfectly comfortable, so I could truly relax and enjoy it.

Stayed here after visiting the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. Check-in is set later than usual accommodations, but as we planned to arrive after sightseeing, we reached around dusk. After a short rest, we enjoyed dinner right away. Each dish had a gentle flavor and was delightful. It seems Shimane is part of the sweet soy sauce culture! The sashimi with subtly sweet soy sauce, grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and soybean milk miso hot pot with Shimane Wagyu were all delicious. The locally grown rice was so tasty that I ended up having multiple servings. As it’s a small accommodation, the bath is also small without features like an open-air bath; however, the bathtub made with rare painted tiles had perfect water temperature and helped me relax for a good night's sleep until morning. The welcome drink in the fridge—a local craft beer—was also enjoyable after bathing. The hostess shared stories about local nature and traditional Kagura performances, making it a truly enriching journey filled with charm.

I had wanted to stay here for a long time. The Room was spacious and very clean, with a great view. The meals were delicious, and since the restaurant is large, even at the buffet there was no congestion when serving food, so we could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. The Onsen was wonderful, the Shuttle Service was courteous, and all the staff were kind with excellent hospitality. It’s also great value for money, so we were very satisfied. We would like to make this our regular Accommodation in Atami. Thank you very much.
