The front desk staff welcomed us with exceptional kindness. The Room was spacious and spotless, with a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Toya. In the private open-air bath, we could soak in the Onsen while fully enjoying the spectacular scenery of Lake Toya. The open-air bath in the large public bath on the top floor was at the perfect temperature—never too hot—so we could relax without having to step out repeatedly. Looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity bath, we felt completely refreshed in both body and mind; it was truly outstanding. The dining was also excellent. The dinner buffet featured an abundant selection of fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi, including scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp. There were also hot dishes such as grilled crab legs and steak—all you can eat. Breakfast offered a wide variety of seafood as well, including raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, and our whole family was thoroughly satisfied with the meals at “Kohan no Sumika.” I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Ryokan so far, but “Kohan no Sumika” is one of the few Hotels that I can say I absolutely want to return to. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, our family enjoyed an unforgettable and perfect stay. Thank you very much. 2. Business Courtesy Version (more formal and polite tone) This is a flawless Onsen Resort Hotel. I stayed at “Kohan no Sumika” on August 30. The front desk service was extremely courteous, and the Room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well maintained. From the guest Room we could enjoy sweeping views of Lake Toya, and in the private open-air bath we were able to savor both the Onsen experience and the beautiful scenery of Lake Toya to our heart’s content. The top-floor open-air bath had a wonderfully comfortable temperature that allowed for a long soak without overheating. Relaxing while looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity Onsen made for an exceptionally luxurious moment of calm. Dinner was highly satisfying: along with plentiful fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi—such as scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp—there were also all-you-can-eat options like grilled crab and steak. Breakfast likewise included seafood such as raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, leaving our entire family very pleased with its quality. Although I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Hotels to date, “Kohan no Sumika” is one of those rare outstanding Accommodations that I would very much like to visit again. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everyone’s warm hospitality; thanks to you all, our family enjoyed a truly perfect time together.

It was my first time in a while staying at this Accommodation. This time, the Room had a free-flowing Onsen bath, and with the large public bath as well, I was able to enjoy many baths—truly an Onsen-filled stay. The meals were delicious, and a woman who had come from overseas for training was very friendly and attentive, which made dining even more pleasant. However, it was raining heavily at check-in, so I felt a little disappointed that no one came out to greet me with an umbrella.

I stayed with my mother in her 80s. A Resort Hotel in the forest—we were able to relax quietly and take our time. The lobby, arranged with stone and wood, had a dignified, substantial atmosphere. The Room had plenty of indirect lighting, which felt very calming. However, if you want to read, it would be better to have a reading light. It was also nice to have a bath in the Room. The sulfur hot spring left my skin feeling smooth. At bedtime, the sound of running water was slightly noticeable. Both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented, and everything was delicious. It was also great that drinks were complimentary in the lounge. There is a large window in front of the counter, so you can feel close to the trees and nature outside. The staff were kind and very pleasant as well. I’d like to stay again.

Although we were concerned about traveling during the Obon season and with unstable weather, we arrived safely with no issues on the roads. The welcome was attentive as always, and the familiar atmosphere made us feel at ease. The Room was clean, and the open-air bath was at a comfortable temperature, allowing us to relax. The meals featured many locally sourced ingredients, were perfectly portioned, and truly delicious. We had another wonderful stay and will visit again.

This visit back to the Accommodation was a firm promise we made with M-chan and N-chan’s family, whom we met here two years ago in August. That day, we played together at the dog run, shared dinner, and spent bar time talking about many things—it was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter during our stay. I still remember how incredibly fun it was. At the time, our M was still an only dog, but meeting M-chan and N-chan—who became friends with us—created an irreplaceable and wonderful bond. We were also truly happy to become friends with their dad and mom as well. At checkout, we made a strong promise: “Let’s all meet again here at this Accommodation someday, healthy and well!” But soon after that, we were shocked to receive the sudden news of M-chan’s passing. Her mom told us that she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in March. We were heartbroken that we could no longer reunite with everyone in good health as we had promised. Still, because this Accommodation was a place M-chan loved so very much, we wanted to honor her here—and so all of us were able to meet again. Together—with their dad and mom; M-chan and N-chan; our MM sisters; and us—we came back to the Accommodation saying “We’re home!” The staff welcomed us warmly with gentle smiles saying “Welcome back,” and M-chan and N-chan—and our MM sisters—were absolutely delighted. For dinner, they seated us next to each other, and it became a joyful dinner time as we talked together while remembering M-chan. At bar time as well, we shared many memories with their dad and mom and talked about what lies ahead; it was a warm, gentle time that passed slowly. We also had breakfast together afterward, then played at the dog run right up until the last minute—sharing truly priceless moments. We believe none of this would have been possible without the kindness and support of all the staff. We are filled with gratitude for watching over our stay until the very end with such warmth. This Accommodation truly brings people together! And it is a one-of-a-kind place—wonderful, beautiful, something you can be proud of—that helps fulfill promises made between beloved dogs! This was my first business trip to Aomori, and after reading Reviews, I chose to stay at Kaosenkaku. The view of Mutsu Bay from the Room was even more breathtaking than I imagined, and the sunset was truly soothing. At dinner, we enjoyed Nebuta Festival hand dances, folk songs, Tsugaru shamisen performances, and dancing—since we didn’t have time to go sightseeing, it made our stay feel like a full Aomori experience!! Next time, I’d love to visit again and take my time exploring as well. Thank you for a wonderful time.

They upgraded us to a suite Room—both nights! The Room was very spacious, spotless, and felt extremely clean, and the Facility was great. We also used the large public bath; it was an Onsen and felt wonderful, and it was clean as well. I was impressed that the in-room drinks included Takarabou Onsen water. Breakfast was delicious, especially the bread. The tables were spaced far apart, so we could relax and really enjoy our breakfast. Thanks to Sundays, our trip to Amami Oshima became a wonderful one. The staff were kind as well. We will definitely stay again next time! Thank you very much.

Connected by a corridor to the neighboring Fujisan Onsen, we were able to enjoy many different hot springs. The Room was stylish, though it felt a bit less relaxing for those used to city life; however, the in-room bath was spacious and the amenities had a lovely fragrance. Above all, the staff’s service was courteous and excellent.

I stayed here with a friend. The infinity Onsen and the food were both excellent. However, the hair dryers in the large public bath took a long time to dry my hair, so I would appreciate it if you could upgrade them to higher-quality ones when you replace them next time. Since the Facility is wonderful, it felt like a bit of a missed opportunity. I would love to stay here again when I visit Beppu. Thank you very much.

This was a Hotel I’d wanted to stay at for a long time, and it was exactly as I’d hoped—the open-air barrel bath on the top floor and the terrace at night were amazing. I arrived late for breakfast and was told once that the scrambled eggs were sold out, but they quickly made more and brought them to me. Parking was also free for 24 hours per night, making it a great Hotel I’d truly like to stay at again. The only disappointment was that there was some dust left under the window when I opened the blinds. Still, all of the staff were kind, which made my stay even better.

This time we stayed in a special Room with a private open-air bath. The water temperature was comfortable 24 hours a day, the tub was spacious enough for two people to relax, and the cypress wood rim added a warm touch—I think I soaked in it about ten times. We also had three bath towels each, plus a wide towel rack to hang them, which made everything stress-free. One suggestion: I used the open-air bath around 7 a.m., but the direct sunlight was very strong. It would be nice to have something like bamboo blinds to block the sun. We also used the large public bath, and as with other Kyoritsu Resort properties such as Dormy Inn, it had plenty of washing space and was easy to use. And when it comes to Kyoritsu Resort, there’s the late-night ramen service. Since this is Hakodate, they offer salt ramen in addition to soy sauce ramen. We expected breakfast—known for being popular—to involve waiting in line, but thanks to the special Room privileges they reserved our preferred seating (such as semi-private booths or window seats) at a designated time. That was great. Of course, the meal selection lived up to its reputation. All drinks in the Room were free—including whisky—and there was also a sparkling water maker. Overall it was excellent. The price is high, but given how well-equipped everything is, we felt it was worth it. We’d love to stay again if possible.

Everything was excellent, especially the service. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding. The rooms, amenities, views, and pool were all wonderful—highly recommended Hotel.

I stayed here for the first time in decades, bringing my parents along. The draft beer welcome drink was perfect after arriving in the heat and helped us relax right away. Our Room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, and the pleasant music playing when we entered made us feel truly welcomed. We were able to enjoy both Onsen baths at a leisurely pace without running into many other guests. The Onsen on the lower floor in particular had excellent water quality, and the ice cream after bathing was delicious. Both dinner and breakfast featured many local ingredients, and everything—vegetables, seafood, and meat—was wonderful. I was especially impressed by the shelled gazami uni (sea urchin), which is hard to find in the Kanto area. Before dinner, we were also shown around the wooden dining building; it was outstanding, and I hope it will be carefully preserved for years to come. After dinner we had drinks at the bar, where the calm atmosphere made it easy to unwind. From check-in to being driven back to the station on departure day, everyone—including the proprietress and all staff—was courteous with just the right sense of distance. It was a truly satisfying stay, and I would love to return.

The Room was clean and well maintained, and we had a comfortable stay. The staff provided pleasant service, which made our trip even better.

The property and the Room were very clean, and it was quiet at night with little noise from the hallway or neighboring Rooms, so I was able to rest well. However, since it faces a major road, the loud exhaust noise from groups of modified cars echoed for a while, which was disappointing. Around 4:00 PM on a weekday, no one was in the large public bath, so I could enjoy it in luxury. I also appreciated the free ice cream after bathing. Breakfast was delicious as well. Whenever I passed the cleaning staff in the hallway, they greeted me pleasantly and left a very good impression.

The Room had a private Onsen with an amazing view, and being able to soak in it again and again was truly soothing. My wife and I also had a wonderful time together. Thank you very much for your courteous, kind service, including the teppanyaki dishes we ordered additionally. Reservations are rarely available, but if possible, we would love to stay at this Accommodation again.

Both the building and the garden are beautifully maintained—truly an Accommodation worthy of its status as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. At Tenpyo-no-Yu, we were able to relax and enjoy the Onsen while watching the carp. The cuisine may be creative, but in a way it felt fairly ordinary; despite the excellent wasabi served alongside, I didn’t feel the menu was designed to pair well with it. Perhaps because it had to be carried a long distance, some hot dishes arrived cooled, and there were so many items that we ended up leaving some, which was a bit disappointing. I thought it might be nice to have an upgraded course with smaller portions. There are many stairs, so it may be challenging for guests with limited mobility.

It had been a very long time since my last visit. The warm, homey atmosphere was just the same, and the Onsen water was as wonderful as ever. Lately I’ve mostly stayed at Accommodations with an Onsen in the Room, but I was reminded again how great Yunohana is—unchanged and truly special. I’ll be back again. The meals were delicious too.

This was my first solo trip, and I stayed here for the first time. I was very satisfied, as I was able to spend a quiet, extraordinary time just as the Accommodation’s concept promises. The food was delicious and plentiful, and best of all it was brought to my Room so I could relax and enjoy my meal there. The season I stayed was summer, but even in the open-air bath I didn’t see any insects at all, and I could enjoy it comfortably again and again. Perhaps you had taken insect-prevention measures? Thank you for such a relaxing stay. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

On weekends, the business district is calm and quiet. The renovated, clean guest rooms, large bath, and breakfast made it a comfortable Hotel. The service that lets you check how crowded the bath is was also convenient.
