I enjoyed soaking in Zao Onsen’s strongly acidic, milky-white water with a distinct sulfur scent—this is what an Onsen should be like. Since it’s an old building, there are countless flaws if you start pointing them out, so I stayed while telling myself that’s just how it is. The staff work hard, but not at a level that truly impresses. The meals featured many local specialties and were good, but the rice—the most important part—was too firm at dinner and far too soft at breakfast. This Accommodation is recommended for those who love Onsen.

This was my first stay here (date of visit: August 17), and it far exceeded all expectations—it was a truly wonderful experience. We arrived around 4:00 p.m., and the staff welcomed us with warm smiles. From the moment we arrived, even before check-in, we could already feel their exceptional hospitality. I was also impressed by their thoughtful attention when they told us “today’s sunset time” as they guided us to our Room. We took a walk along the beach right in front of the Accommodation before sunset, and the pleasant sea breeze made it the perfect refresh. After our walk, we enjoyed the bath in our Room with a view of the beach. The sunset over the Genkai Sea from there was simply breathtaking—an incredibly beautiful panorama that left us speechless! We also bathed at night and again in the morning; spending time surrounded by clear ocean views and soothing wave sounds was pure relaxation at its best. The sushi kaiseki dinner “MURASAKI” was outstanding from start to finish, filled with careful craftsmanship throughout. Every dish showcased seasonal ingredients beautifully—such as lightly seared grunt fish from Genkai, steamed longtooth grouper custard-style, and overnight-dried sweetfish whose charcoal aroma stood out wonderfully. The main course of Saga beef grilled on magnolia leaf with miso, a comparison tasting of three kinds of tuna, and tilefish served with citrus vinegar were all exquisite—and I was completely satisfied all the way through dessert (Karatsu milk and cheese pudding). Breakfast surprised me even more. Beautifully arranged dishes were presented in a two-tiered jubako box; everything tasted amazing, with a level of luxury and quality far beyond what you’d expect from “breakfast.” Thanks to how attentively and kindly the staff checked on us throughout, we started our day feeling truly happy. With its location, spectacular baths with incredible views, superb cuisine, and warm hospitality—all perfectly delivered—this is an exceptional Accommodation. I will definitely return.

I found Sugatani Onsen while looking for an Accommodation where I could stay with my pet, without knowing the name beforehand. It was very comfortable. I brought pet pads, but if possible, I would like you to provide some spares. There is no need to lay out the futon during meals; I worry my dog might bark, so it makes me more concerned. The air conditioner noise felt a little loud. The meals were very delicious. It is a quiet location away from the crowds.

We stayed in two Rooms with a total of seven people—my daughter’s family and my son. We have stayed here before, and it remains a favorite because we can truly relax, and both dinner and breakfast are served in private dining rooms so we can enjoy our meals at a leisurely pace. The grandchildren enjoyed not only the Onsen but also the pool, and they even wrote in their summer vacation diary that they want to come again. The staff also left a very positive impression with their courteous service.

This time I stayed as a solo traveler. Even during meals, I didn’t feel self-conscious at all and was able to fully enjoy the dining experience. I used the Onsen upon arrival and again for a morning bath, and it felt wonderful—especially the carbonated bath, which I loved. I’d like to visit again. It was also an excellent base for sightseeing.

We usually travel to the Hakone area a few times a year as a couple, but this time we stayed one night at “Rinpo Kiryū” for our first family trip, including several celebrations. We have had the chance to visit many Accommodations, but we have never encountered one as outstanding as this—everything from start to finish was truly moving. We arrived about an hour before check-in, yet we were warmly welcomed without hesitation. From a wonderful commemorative photo for our celebration to a heartfelt message card with the photo attached, we were touched by the surprise hospitality and thoughtful care. We are sincerely grateful to have made so many unforgettable memories for our family trip. Thank you very much. Above all, what deserves special mention is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. From greeting us on arrival to seeing us off at the end, every moment was impeccable, allowing us to relax and enjoy unhurried time. Our assigned staff member was genuinely kind and always smiling; we enjoyed our conversations and were deeply impressed by their attentive care down to the smallest details—our whole family was moved. The guidance through the property—like a paradise filled with an extraordinary atmosphere—was also thorough, and everyone we met greeted us with smiles that put us at ease. Our Room was very spacious, beautifully maintained, and spotless. The bed was ideal for us—not too soft and not sinking in—so it was extremely comfortable. (My wife is quite particular about beds and rarely says this at other Accommodations, so I was surprised when she said she wanted to stay another night and didn’t want to go home yet.) During our stay, the Room included its own private open-air bath with free-flowing Onsen sourced directly from 100% natural spring water (no added water or heating)—a superb and rare Dōgashima Onsen often described as “legendary.” We could indulge in Onsen whenever we liked. In addition, there was an indoor hinoki Onsen bath, a private sauna, and even a pool, so our family could enjoy everything together. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; each dish was beautifully presented with great care, filled with creative ideas and thoughtful touches from the chef. There were also many staff members on hand—the service felt perfect. Based on our past experiences, it’s rare to find an Accommodation where service is this attentive in every respect. More than anything else, being able to stay at “Rinpo Kiryū” became a wonderful experience for our family. Thank you again very much. We would love to visit again.

I visited Narai-juku for sightseeing and stayed at Koma-no-Yu. It is a secluded hot spring, and the surroundings are quiet. The forest bathing was soothing. Koma-no-Yu puts great care into the cuisine and offers many dishes, and everything I tried was delicious. The refined seasoning made for a highly satisfying meal.

I was able to fully relax and heal my exhausted body after caregiving. Thank you for taking care of me. I felt the food was a little strongly seasoned, but I finished everything! It was a very good rest. I look forward to staying with you again.

The bath was amazing! My skin felt so smooth afterward. I didn’t use it this time, but I heard the bath in the Room is also an Onsen. Being able to choose a yukata pattern was a lovely touch for women. All of the staff were kind and thoughtful in so many ways. They recommended Genbei River as a place to explore on the second day, and I ended up playing in the river for the first time in decades (lol). The nature there was incredibly refreshing. The meals were delicious, with more than enough food to finish. We made wonderful summer vacation memories. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay. Our previous visit left a strong impression, and we were looking forward to coming back. The owners’ warm hospitality was just as wonderful this time, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Accommodation was kept spotless throughout, making it a relaxing place to be. The meals were excellent, and we especially enjoyed trying ingredients we rarely get to taste, such as wolf eel. This trip was also for a special anniversary, and thanks to your thoughtful kindness, it became a truly memorable stay. Thank you very much. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us to see the starry sky like last time, but every sightseeing spot you recommended was fantastic, and we were able to fully experience the charm of Eastern Hokkaido. When we visit Eastern Hokkaido again, we would love to stay here again.

I can relax at a leisurely pace and enjoy delicious food, so I visit almost every year. This time, I came with a group of seven, including first-time guests. Everyone enjoyed the peaceful scenery of the white birch trees and Lake Megami along with the wonderful cuisine. We were all very satisfied, and everyone said they would like to come again next year.

I stayed for one night and two days to celebrate both my mother’s birthday and mine. At afternoon tea, you kindly wished us a happy birthday and showed such warm consideration. At the spa, you provided a quad cane for my mother, who feels unsteady on her feet, and even moved our locker closer to the bathing area—your thoughtful attention to detail truly moved me. We had Japanese cuisine for both dinner and breakfast, and everything was delicious. Although this is an international Hotel, we felt authentic Japanese hospitality throughout. You also took wonderful commemorative photos of my mother and me for our birthdays, which became a precious memory. Lastly, the malasada we enjoyed at afternoon tea was so delicious that I made a special request to have it again at breakfast. You kindly accommodated us, and I was able to enjoy it to the very end with no regrets (lol). Thank you! Thanks to the care shown by all staff members, it was an extremely satisfying stay. I would love to visit again with my mother.

With its convenient location near the station and direct access via an underground passage, it was very easy to get around without getting wet even on rainy days. From the 7th-floor lobby, we could see the area around the station and distant mountain ranges, and the view was excellent. In the lobby, hot coffee and an apple vinegar drink were available at all times, and it was also very convenient that each floor had ice and a water dispenser. What impressed me most was breakfast. The Hokkaido-style seafood rice bowl came with both steamed rice and sushi rice options, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy everything you’d hope for in Hokkaido at once—soft-serve ice cream, stir-fried jingisukan (grilled mutton), soup curry, and more. The dining staff were attentive as well, so there was none of the stress that can come with buffet-style dining; they made the trip feel even more special. The guest room had a combined bath-and-toilet unit bathroom without a separate washing area, but it was relatively spacious and I didn’t find it inconvenient. I previously stayed at another Hotel in this group in Tamachi, and I feel this group’s strengths are guest-focused service and breakfasts that exceed expectations. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again.

I stayed for one night due to my child’s schedule. It was really close to the station, very clean, and both the bath and breakfast were excellent. (I needed to go toward Kyoto University, and I was lucky to find a bus stop very nearby.) Highly recommended.

There is a convenience store right downstairs, which is very convenient. When I asked questions about things I didn’t understand, they answered politely. The Room was also very clean, and I was able to relax. If I have something to do nearby again, I would definitely like to stay here again.

For our Kyushu girls’ trip, we chose Mojiko—introduced to us through “Convenience Store Brothers”—as our final-day destination and stayed in the Premium Suite at Premium Hotel. From the moment we stepped into the Room, we were thrilled by the panoramic view of Mojiko right in front of us and the spacious, comfortable Room! After enjoying carefully selected drinks, cheese, and finger foods at the exclusive lounge Tempo, we finally fulfilled our wish to walk across the Kanmon Straits, then took a ferry back to right in front of the Hotel. It’s worth staying here for this Hotel alone! Next time, we’d love to enjoy a meal at one of the Hotel’s restaurants as well.

Although the weather was unfortunately cloudy with occasional squall-like showers and brief sunny spells during our stay, we were still able to fully enjoy the resort atmosphere. The location is just over an hour from Naha Airport, making it a great base for getting anywhere. Highly recommended in every respect—Facility, dining, and service.

The bright, clean Room was in an Onsen town surrounded by soothing greenery, and we were able to relax and take our time. We stay at various Hotels, but our stay here was truly relaxing both physically and mentally. Time for healing is precious, and we felt it was thanks to the staff’s careful and attentive work. The bath was wonderful, and the meals were absolutely delicious. Thank you for a lovely time.

I stayed for four days starting July 13. -Front Desk Staff- First of all, my sincere thanks to everyone. Due to personal circumstances, I consulted in advance about arriving earlier than planned. You kindly offered thoughtful suggestions, and at check-in the information had been accurately shared and handled perfectly. You also saw me off pleasantly at check-out. -Location / Surroundings- An excellent location in the heart of the city—Teramachi-dori, Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, Rokkaku-dori, and Sanjo-dori. Very convenient for dining and all kinds of shopping. -Hotel- Although it is a very busy area with many visitors (including international travelers), once you step into the Hotel everything changes—there is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The toilet and bath are completely separate. The bath is spacious and comfortable. The room is fully equipped with everything needed, including amenities. *Some amenities are available at the front desk In the North Building, the convenience store on the 1st floor is directly connected to the elevator. You can access it using your room key. -Sightseeing / Shopping- Shijo-Kawaramachi is about a 15-minute walk away. Thanks to the great location, various public transportation options are also close by for sightseeing and shopping. On the last day I checked out around 8:00 a.m. I headed to Kyoto Station from the Kawaramachi-dori bus stop about a 5-minute walk away; there were fewer passengers than expected, and I arrived in about 15 minutes. -Finally- I was disappointed that I couldn’t try your well-reviewed breakfast because I don’t eat much. It was during the Gion Festival (Yoiyama) period before the main parade—hot every day… no, very hot! (lol) But staying at such a wonderful Hotel made my time in Kyoto truly excellent. I look forward to visiting again next time. Thank you very much.

This is my go-to Accommodation for my annual trips to Sapporo! On the first night, I stayed in a Corner Twin for the first time. The windows were large, and I had a pleasant view with the Hokkaido Government Office building right in front of me—perfect for relaxing with drinks in the Room. On the second night, since my child was Child Sharing Existing Bedding, we chose a Superior Double. The window was smaller and it felt even more compact, but it was still very functional. There was also an ice machine on the top floor, and perhaps as part of Superior perks there were bath salts provided as well, which was a nice touch. At check-in, the male staff member at reception had no expression and his service was disappointing—neither good nor bad overall. However, the male staff member at check-out was very pleasant, so I’ll call it even (lol). And what I especially recommend is breakfast. There is a wide variety of dishes with many local items, and everything—Japanese or Western—is high quality. All of the staff are friendly and it feels great. The salted bread that wasn’t available last year was delicious, so I hope you keep offering it! The only disappointment was that the breakfast crowding status shown on the in-room TV didn’t match reality. It showed “not busy,” so we went then—but there were actually 30 groups waiting. After getting my young child excited and taking them there, having to bring them back to the Room and manage their bad mood was frustrating... Still, the large public bath is very clean; we received a full set of children’s amenities for Child Sharing Existing Bedding at the front desk; there are Sekkisei amenities; and needless to say, the location is excellent... Overall, this trip once again reminded me that in Sapporo it’s Solaria all the way for me. I’m looking forward to planning another trip so we can come again next year.
