The Room, bathroom, and toilet were all spotless, so we had a very comfortable stay. The bed was fluffy and helped us recover from a long drive. It was also conveniently located for sightseeing on foot. We’d like to make a Reservation again when we visit Kanazawa.

I found this place while searching mainly for an Onsen, and since it also offers Accommodation at a reasonable price, I decided to visit. The Onsen was spacious and had a sauna, so I could relax. The entire Facility was kept very clean, and the staff were warm and welcoming—I was more than satisfied for the price. I don’t get to come to this area often, but I’ll stop by again next time.

I stayed here after being captivated by the night-view photos of the Onsen. Since this was a family trip with small children, I wasn’t expecting a luxury Ryokan, but because it’s located where you can take in a sweeping view of Toyama City (and even across to Imizu City), I never got tired of the scenery—sunrise, sunset, and night. Honestly, this location is truly one of a kind and priceless; it was far better than staying at some mediocre high-end Ryokan. I’ll upload my clumsy photos, but in person it’s 10 or 20 times more impressive. On the way to the Onsen there is a corridor explaining the history of the Kureha Hills, and I could really feel how much care and affection the staff have for this place and for this Hotel. The Facility is certainly Showa-era in style, but that actually made me feel even more attached to it. I felt genuinely happy to have discovered—and stayed at—this kind of Hotel. I also want to mention the breakfast buffet. Above all, I was amazed at how delicious the rice was. That wonderful white rice with miso soup and grilled fish in the morning—along with sides like okra and vinegared dishes—was something I truly enjoyed. Depending on where you’re going, if you plan to visit Toyama City or nearby Imizu City or Takaoka City, this is definitely a great choice. My kids absolutely loved Kodomo Mirai-kan at Taikoyama Land, so we’ll probably go back to Toyama next year—and when we do, I definitely want to stay at this Hotel again. It was great that I was able to find an Accommodation in Yamanaka Onsen, considering the rental car parking, my husband’s Accommodation, and a place for me to take a nap while I was on the KAGASPA Trail with him. Check-in was from 15:00, but you kindly let me in early so I could rest—thank you. Since I didn’t have time to enjoy the Onsen or anything else, I’m sorry that I can’t really share much feedback.

The BBQ at night was unexpectedly delicious. The breakfast bread was also very tasty. We stayed in a large Room, which was spacious and open, making it very pleasant. The bath was a shared Facility, but it was very warming. All the staff were kind, and we had a comfortable stay. Both inside and outside the Facility were clean and well-maintained, making it very comfortable. We participated in the pottery class, which became a wonderful memory for us. We would love to stay again!

Three family members in our 70s stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. It’s a Showa-era building, but the Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We could also see a beautiful sunrise from the Room. The location was great, and we took an early-morning walk to Amanohashidate. For dinner, we chose the chef’s omakase Amanohashidate kaiseki course served in our Room, but it was far too much for us in our 70s and we felt sorry for leaving some of it. In hindsight, we should have asked about the menu before choosing the course. The bath had one tub and I recall there were seven or eight faucets and showers. It’s on the small side. It seemed that the men’s bath on the day we stayed was even smaller. The front desk staff answered our questions in a friendly manner. Overall, I think it offers very good value for money.

Soaking in the Onsen surrounded by nature is truly uplifting. Just an hour from Nagoya is also a plus.

I found a Plan that does not use wheat flour, vegetable oils, dairy products, or sugar, and stayed here looking forward to these meals. An Accommodation offering a “Four Toxins-Free Plan” is still rare across the whole country, so it felt like I had finally found one. There were many dishes, all of them truly delicious, and I left completely full. I was very satisfied. It may have been the best food I’ve had at any Ryokan I’ve stayed at so far. Niigata Prefecture is far from my home and not somewhere I often get the chance to visit, but that made the sightseeing feel fresh as well, and I had a wonderful time.

This was my second stay, and once again I was very satisfied with both the generous portions and the delicious food. There were so many kinds of salad at dinner, both in variety and quantity—even the owner said he wasn’t sure how many there were. The salad alone can fill you up, but the bread was also excellent, and the hamburger steak was wonderfully meaty—very satisfying. The Onsen is a private bath. It’s close to the source spring, with a strong sulfur smell, and iron tends to oxidize. The temperature is just right, so you can soak slowly and relax. That said, the Facility is a bit old (the owner even joked it’s like a haunted house...), so it depends on whether it feels worth it for the price. For the Eco Plan, be sure to prepare properly yourself—bring changes of clothes, trash bags, etc. Once you get used to it, you won’t mind how old things are; it actually feels quite comfortable. We’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

The Room was spacious, with a supermarket and AEON next door, and the sea just a 5-minute walk away, which was wonderful! The breakfast was very filling. We stayed here for my daughter's softball trip but would love to stay again!

I had the privilege of spending New Year's for the first time at Kinjohro, one of Kanazawa's most renowned ryokan. With my mother being from Kanazawa and having spent six years studying in this city myself, it had always been a dream to welcome the New Year at Kinjohro. However, I hesitated for a long time, feeling that such a prestigious and traditional ryokan might be beyond my reach. This year, I finally had the opportunity to visit Kanazawa with my son and fulfill this long-held dream. The elegant architecture, refined furnishings harmonizing sophistication and grace, exquisite Kutani ware and Kaga Yuzen kimonos—everything exuded timeless beauty. The traditional Kaga cuisine featuring local specialties like yellowtail fish, crab, duck dishes such as kamo-jibu stew prepared with care using authentic ingredients—and even the osechi New Year’s feast—were simply exceptional. The room and bath filled with the soothing scent of cypress wood added to an unforgettable experience. Above all else was the heartfelt hospitality provided by staff who embody over 130 years of tradition in this historic city of Kanazawa. It felt as though we were transported back in time to experience the grandeur of Kaga Hyakumangoku culture. On New Year's morning after enjoying osechi cuisine, we joined other guests along with the owner, proprietress (okami), head chef, staff members and their families for a mochi-pounding event at the entrance. The friendly atmosphere shared among everyone under glimpses of blue sky through clouds made it truly special—the taste of kinako-coated mochi will remain etched in our memories alongside our stay at Kinjohro. Thank you so much to everyone at Kinjohro! I look forward to experiencing more seasonal delights from Kanazawa’s rich culture through future visits here.

The accommodation was excellent, with a great selection of amenities! The Onsen was also wonderful. What we enjoyed most was definitely the dinner! We had a lovely trip with my partner!

Just a few minutes’ walk from Amanohashidate Station, the location was extremely convenient for sightseeing. It was also great to be able to view Amanohashidate from the Room window. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me, and I could relax and enjoy a long soak. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying. In particular, the shabu-shabu meat was outstanding, and it paired perfectly with the citrus-scented ponzu sauce. The steamed white rice had a natural sweetness and was very delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming, making our stay comfortable. One concern was the smoking environment. Although the guest Rooms are non-smoking, there is a smoking area in the hallway, so cigarette smoke drifted into the Room. As a non-smoker, this was disappointing and was my only complaint. Overall, it was an Accommodation with a high level of satisfaction. It had an authentic Ryokan atmosphere that you can’t experience at a large Hotel, allowing us to fully enjoy our trip.

The unique, beautiful design was unlike anything else, and it was wonderful to catch the fresh scent of new wood here and there. The bath was spacious and open, so I could relax and take my time. The pool was smaller than I expected, but it seems perfect for a dip after the sauna! Spending a quiet night in such a clean villa made for a very satisfying stay. The only downsides were that the air conditioning on the second floor wasn’t very effective, making it uncomfortable to sleep, and I wished the kitchen had basics like salt and pepper, cooking oil, plastic wrap, and paper towels. Oda Sushi nearby was delicious, and there’s also a supermarket about 5 minutes away by car, which is really convenient. It feels like a villa you can enjoy at any time of year, so I’d love to come back. Thank you very much!

I stayed at APA Hotel for the first time. The twin beds were each about the size of a semi-double, allowing for a comfortable and relaxing sleep.

The Room, bathroom, bed, and TV are all spacious, creating an amazing sense of openness! It’s a short walk from the airport, but when I mentioned I had an early morning, they kindly accommodated my breakfast time. I was very satisfied and would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

As the stay approached, I checked the reviews and found many negative ones, making me feel nervous and uneasy until arriving at the accommodation. I stayed during the year-end holidays, but other review sites mentioned that by late November, a pump failure had caused the large public bath to be unavailable, and guests were shuttled to another accommodation. This made me anxious, so I contacted the accommodation a day before my stay. They assured me that it was no longer broken, but I still felt uneasy... In the end, I was pleasantly surprised in a good way! I chose a room with an open-air bath. While it's true that the room itself is old, the open-air bath was spacious and absolutely fantastic! The private baths also offered beautiful views of Mount Yufu, and contrary to some negative reviews about water temperature issues in both private baths and public baths, everything was at just the right temperature. The staff seemed genuinely dedicated to improving their services; their efforts were evident. During meals, there were plenty of staff members available who promptly responded to requests like refills—making dining very pleasant. Thank you for allowing us to have such a comfortable stay!

I booked a plan that included dinner. The room was just the right size for spending time with my family. The shower room in the room felt a bit small, but there were no issues using it. Dinner was excellent, with plenty of seafood to enjoy. There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all... We felt sorry about that. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much!

This time, my husband and I stayed at the property during our trip to Fukui. The stays were beautiful, and the room was spacious and clean with 12 tatami mats. It was very convenient as the dining area and bath were close to the room. Dinner was filling! It was delicious and very satisfying. The tempura was freshly fried, crispy, and delicious! The white rice was also tasty. Although the bath was not a natural onsen, my husband said it was good, and I was satisfied too. We were able to view the supermoon from the pot bath, which was moving! Breakfast was also filling. It was delicious. When we talked about going to "Eiheiji" at checkout, they kindly suggested trying "sauce katsudon and oroshi soba" and even saw us off outside. We had those two for lunch. Eiheiji was absolutely wonderful! Thanks to you, we had an enjoyable trip. We will use your services again. Thank you very much!

Our family took a 1-night, 2-day trip to the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido with one main goal: to enjoy great seafood. Lately, rather than a luxury Ryokan with extensive facilities, we’ve been drawn to food-focused Ryokan that truly take their cuisine seriously—and for this trip, our only criterion was simply “we want to eat really delicious seafood.” In that sense, Oyado Shinsei exceeded our expectations. Dinner featured an overwhelming number of dishes and seafood—far more than we could finish. The boat platter was spectacular, with uni and ikura in small bowls, line-caught tuna, hoya (sea squirt), botan shrimp, and more. The flavor was clearly on another level from the sashimi we usually eat. Our whole family kept saying “This is delicious” again and again as we enjoyed it. We were so focused on eating at dinner that we didn’t take any photos, but there were also grilled fish caught that morning, fried items, a rockfish hot pot (soi nabe), and more—each dish genuinely tasty from start to finish without ever feeling repetitive. Breakfast was just as satisfying: a small bowl of uni, sashimi, simmered fish, local delicacies, handmade sesame tofu (goma-dofu), and miso soup made with freshly harvested wakame—everything paired perfectly with rice. The portions were generous, yet it was so good that we finished it all. (I’ve attached a photo of breakfast.) The Accommodation is kept very clean—from the Room to the shared sinks and toilets—making it comfortable throughout our stay. The cypress bath is compact but gentle on the skin and wonderfully warming (we were told it’s not an Onsen, but it was more than satisfying). The staff seemed to be mainly family-run; everyone was friendly and kind with thoughtful attention to detail. We felt comfortable the entire time—it’s an Accommodation that gives you a reassuring “back home” feeling. Given the quality of the meals offered here at this price point, I found it extremely reasonable. We stayed during Golden Week this time, but I’d love to return in another season to enjoy different flavors of Shakotan again.
