We visited Kinosaki Onsen on a family trip. Since it was a special occasion, we stayed at Mikiya to experience the atmosphere of Naoya Shiga’s “At Kinosaki.” The location is a bit deeper into the Onsen town, and the roads from the station to the Ryokan are generally narrow, so if you are driving, extra caution is needed during busy pedestrian hours. Compared with the lively street outside, the Accommodation itself was quiet, and we had a very relaxing time. The indoor bath is compact, but I personally found it very comfortable. You can also enjoy the public baths around town, so I recommend trying several. The meals were delicious and just the right amount. The staff were attentive as well—overall, it was a wonderfully quiet Ryokan with great character.

Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality. All of the dishes were delicious and we were completely satisfied, especially the meat and rice, which left a lasting impression. The bath was spacious and relaxing, and our daughter was happy that she slept soundly.

We stayed to celebrate a birthday anniversary. The hot spring water was excellent, and the amenities were well stocked. In the bathroom refrigerator, there were small sherbet treats (for heatstroke prevention?), along with water and tea. At dinner, there was a surprise that made us very happy, and we were able to spend this special time in a meaningful way. Thank you very much.

I stayed here at the end of my trip to Hokkaido. The places I stayed before were wonderful as well, but this Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel was outstanding. Every dish at the buffet was delicious. I wanted to try more, but I got full and couldn’t eat everything, which I still regret a little. The kamameshi rice was especially good, and the meat was excellent too—in fact, everything I tried tasted great. When I went to the Onsen early in the morning (just after 5 a.m.), I saw staff baking bread. I had some at breakfast, and it was also very tasty. The moor Onsen had a gentle natural scent and a wonderfully silky feel on the skin; one night wasn’t enough. This time I couldn’t take my time sightseeing around Tokachi, so I would love to come back again next year. More than anything, what left me with such a great impression of the Hotel was an employee at the souvenir shop “Tamatebako.” The trainee wearing a training name badge had an amazing smile and provided excellent service. When I told them how pleasant they were, they responded with another lovely smile. Of course it comes down to personal qualities as well, but it also made me feel that the Hotel’s management philosophy must be excellent for staff like this to grow here. All of the other staff were wonderful too, and it reminded me that not only the Onsen and food but also people’s hospitality is what truly shapes a trip. Thank you for helping me make such great memories—I would like to stay again next year as well.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The Facilities, the staff’s atmosphere, and the meals were all excellent. It was clear that each staff member truly loves dogs and enjoys working here. We would definitely like to stay again.

It was a very satisfying trip to Shirahama. This Accommodation is in an excellent location, close to Shirarahama Beach. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, and we were very satisfied. We love Onsen, so we were happy with the large public bath here. The food was delicious as well. All the staff were attentive and helpful—thank you very much. It was an Accommodation that exceeded its price. We were also blessed with good weather and could relax at our leisure. It’s an Accommodation that makes us want to come again.

We checked in after enjoying a full day of walking around the hot spring town, visiting Jigokudani, Oyunuma, and the footbaths in beautiful weather. The location of Dai-ichi Takimotokan is amazing—simply the best. Everything was great—the comfort inside the hotel, the fun souvenir shop, and the excellent breakfast and dinner buffets—but above all, the hot springs were truly spectacular! There are so many baths where you can enjoy five different types of spring water, spread across an enormous space about twice the size of a gymnasium. The ceilings are high, and one entire glass wall faces Jigokudani—so it feels like soaking in an onsen right in the valley you just explored, with nature all around you. It’s a one-of-a-kind hot spring experience unlike any other hotel; personally, I think it’s among the best in Japan. I hope everyone gets to enjoy both the view from the baths during bright daytime hours and these wonderful five types of spring water. We’ll be back next year!

The water is excellent, though the bath is a bit on the hot side. The room, meals, and staff service were all very satisfying. Some people may feel it’s pricey, but at this price range we were more than satisfied! If you’re looking for a more luxurious feel, I recommend Gekkouju Kurokawa or Takefue. We will definitely return again—thank you in advance for your hospitality then.

The Onsen, the meals, and the service were all excellent! We’ll definitely be back!

I urgently searched for an Accommodation and made a Reservation three days in advance. I arrived earlier than expected and thought I would have to wait in the lobby, but they let me into my Room. The private bath was spacious enough for four people to relax comfortably. The Onsen water left my skin with just the right amount of silky smoothness. If it’s too slippery, you can easily slip in the bathing area. Some of the roads nearby are narrow, but the location is convenient—roughly midway between Tsunoshima Bridge, Shimonoseki Station, Karato Market, and the Nagato area. Across the street is its sister property, Ichinomata Grand Hotel. It seemed that guests could also use their Onsen, but we didn’t this time. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Yamaguchi.

I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

I stayed for one night as a change of pace. Both the facilities and the room were cleaner than expected, making for a very comfortable stay. Since I was traveling alone, I stayed in a 4.5-tatami room, but the high ceiling made it feel spacious and inviting. From the window, you can see the pond and enjoy the peaceful sight of koi swimming by. For dinner, I had the miso hot pot; it had a wonderful miso aroma and was truly satisfying. The onsen is pleasantly lukewarm—so relaxing you could soak for hours! It felt amazing, like my everyday fatigue slowly melted away. This was an inn where I could unwind so much that my tiredness and stress seemed to disappear. I would love to stay here again.

This was my first stay, and from the initial phone call to the moment we left, every staff member’s service was warm, attentive, and flawless. Because I have dietary restrictions, there are usually items in the standard menu that I cannot eat, but this time you made thoughtful adjustments so I could enjoy everything—deliciously and without leaving anything behind. I am truly grateful for the kitchen team’s consideration despite how busy you were. The room layout was also very well designed and easy to use, with a Japanese-style tatami area and a Western-style bedroom with beds, plus an open-air bath and wash area arranged thoughtfully. Although it was quite windy, we were still able to enjoy the private open-air bath in our room. The public bath was always clean, with amenities and towels fully stocked, so we could relax without any stress and fully enjoy the infinity open-air bath. On our final day at checkout, when we requested a taxi we were told it would be a 40-minute wait; however, the front desk staff kindly called around for us, and in the end a taxi arrived in about 10 minutes. We sincerely appreciate your help even during such a busy time. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

It was my first time in Hanamaki, a town that brings to mind Kenji Miyazawa and Shohei Ohtani. I arrived in just under an hour by shuttle bus from Shin-Hanamaki Station. This is a wonderful Ryokan with the nostalgic charm of the Showa era, exactly as I had imagined. I arrived after 4:00 p.m., and since dinner started at 5:30 p.m., I hurried to the Onsen. First was “Katsura-no-Yu.” After washing, I headed to the open-air bath. Watching my step, I made my way down to the lower bath and soaked slowly while looking out over the mountain stream—pure bliss. After a short break, I tried “Hakuen-no-Yu,” the most famous standing bath here. For me, the water at “Hakuen-no-Yu” felt softer. Dinner was very lavish; we also added sea bream and crab shabu-shabu. Everything tasted excellent, and I enjoyed every last bite. After that—and again the next morning—I soaked in the Onsen about three more times in total; it truly was an Onsen-filled stay. My favorites were “Hakuen-no-Yu” for its soft water and the open-air bath at “Katsura-no-Yu,” where you can relax while gazing at the stream. The Onsen was so good that I even made a Reservation for November on my way home. Next time, I plan to stay at “Jusangatsu.”

The staff’s hospitality was outstanding. The meals offered a wide variety of ingredients, and everything was delicious—we were completely satisfied. The location was also excellent.

We stayed in a double Room for two. The Room was a bit small, but it was clean. The large public bath was smaller than expected, but it wasn’t too crowded, and there was also an open-air bath, so it was comfortable. We were surprised by the ice cream and probiotic drink after the bath—it was a nice service. We would like to stay again if we have the chance.

Four of us, who joined the company at the same time, stayed here. It was our first trip as a group, and we had a relaxing, unhurried, and very enjoyable time. The attendant assigned to our Room was fun to talk with and helped create a cheerful atmosphere. We were also traveling with someone who has back problems, and they kindly accommodated our request to adjust the bedding.

Since my injury, we’ve been celebrating our birthdays here in a Room with an open-air bath. I love Onsen, but I was afraid to use large baths and had given up. Then, as a birthday gift for my husband, we came here, and using the bath in our Room helped me regain my confidence—so it has become our regular Accommodation ever since. It’s wonderful.

I stayed for one night and two days. Rooms & Amenities → The in-room open-air bath was clean and very relaxing. Hospitality & Service → I was warmly welcomed from check-in, and the staff responded pleasantly whenever I needed anything, which made me very happy. Onsen Baths → The large public bath was spacious, and the outdoor open-air bath area was also clean. I also appreciated the service of having drinks and towels available in front of the sauna room. Dining → I only had breakfast, but it was delicious.

The Ryokan offers excellent hospitality, a clean and beautiful interior, and courteous service, resulting in a very high level of overall satisfaction as a Ryokan. In addition, as a dog lover, I was deeply impressed by how they accommodated us when traveling with our dog and how they treat dogs with great care and respect rather than “just as dogs.” The Facilities and meals were excellent as expected, and the Onsen was also outstanding; it was our dog’s first Onsen experience, but we were extremely satisfied throughout. It even felt like our dog’s paw pads became softer and their coat improved, so the Onsen benefits seem truly wonderful.
