Both the Room and the open-air bath were wonderful, and the ocean view from the Room was beautiful. We were able to enjoy delicious crab even in summer. When we mentioned that we were celebrating a special occasion, you kindly showed thoughtful consideration, which made our family very happy. From showing us around the Room to serving us at dinner, your service was truly pleasant, and everyone’s smiles were lovely. From check-in to check-out, you took great care of us, and we were just as impressed by your hospitality as we were by the Room and the cuisine. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

My spouse and I stay here every year, but this year we invited my elderly mother and came as three. The spacious Room on the 6th floor was our first time, and the view was wonderful and stylish. My mother loved it, and I am truly grateful that we were able to make a meaningful trip for her.

I had the pleasure of staying in the newly renovated “Minna” at Betsuyu. As you’d expect from a Good Design Award winner, the space was so impressive that I couldn’t help but gasp when I entered. The Room was exceptional in every way—its generous size, high ceilings, and luxurious private Onsen, sauna, and wash area created a one-of-a-kind layout. Saunas can sometimes feel enclosed, but being able to enjoy it while looking out at the sea made it truly outstanding. The service was excellent as well, with great Diamond member benefits. From the delicious ohagi welcome sweets to late-night snacks and even bread as a souvenir, everything was more than satisfying. I chose a crab course for dinner that was slightly out of season, so next time I’d like to visit in a different season and enjoy other dishes. There is also a large public bath, but having everything—Onsen, sauna, and cold bath—complete within my own Room made this an incredibly satisfying stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

This was my first time staying here. The Room was a comfortable size even for three people, and we could see the sea diagonally across from the window. There is a smoking area on each floor. It was a bit hot outside during the day, but while having a smoke and looking at the mountains, we saw a Taiwanese squirrel dart by, black swallowtails fluttering around, and kites flying in the blue summer sky. Since it’s a retro-style Hotel, it gave us a pleasantly nostalgic feeling. My companion tried the set menu of an enzyme bath and foot reflexology massage and said it felt amazing! The enzyme bath was spacious, and the staff were very polite and kind—it seemed to warm up and relax both body and mind. The atmosphere in the Room is calm as well. Amenities like toothbrushes and toilet paper were properly provided. At night, the corridor outside the guest rooms had an Italian-style vibe—I couldn’t help murmuring, “How lovely!” The whole Hotel isn’t flashy, but it’s clean, quiet, spacious, and relaxing. After checkout we all agreed—“That was really nice.” It became a wonderful memory for us. I’d like to stop by again. Thank you for taking care of us.

Three of us (all women) stayed here. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The bath was also clean and lovely. The sound of the waves was soothing and relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and we enjoyed chatting with the person who served our meals—everything impressed us from start to finish. If we come back to Yuhigaura again, we will definitely stay here again!

Everything was comfortable. The staff, lobby, meals, Room, and bath were all clean and relaxing. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. However, it would have been even better if there had been a dinner menu. At other places I’ve stayed, they compile the menus into a file for easy reference. The illustrated breakfast menu was great. I quickly framed it with my watermelon eraser stamp and displayed it in my living room. It looks wonderful in the frame.

We were blessed with great weather on this trip—clear skies every day and stunning views of Mt. Daisen and the Sea of Japan from the mountain. Because this Facility comes so highly recommended, we arrived early to make the most of it. With the all-inclusive plan, we enjoyed a beer right away while soaking in the open-air bath on our Room’s balcony. The Room had a Western antique style, and everything—from the bed and furnishings to the tableware—was superb. The Italian dinner was outstanding and truly worthy of an auberge, and the house wine was exceptionally delicious. The hospitality was excellent as well; the owner personally greeted us, and we had a wonderful conversation. From around sunset, a sea of clouds began to spread out—so spectacular that even the owner said it was something rarely seen. We were able to fully enjoy both an incredible meal and breathtaking scenery.

This Accommodation was the final stop on our 3-night, 4-day summer trip through Okayama, Tottori, and Shimane, and it was truly a wonderful place to end our journey. Check-in was very courteous and smooth, and I was surprised—in a good way—that an attendant escorted us to our Room while explaining the building along the way, which is rare these days. They also carefully explained everything in the Room, and I was impressed by the traditional level of hospitality. The Room had great taste, and the open-air bath in the Room was free-flowing Onsen water. It was a bit hot, but adding some water quickly made it comfortable enough to enter, so we enjoyed it many times during our stay. With Rooms that have an open-air Onsen bath, insects often get into either the bath or the Room, but for some reason we had no such issues here and were comfortable throughout. Dinner was served in a private room; the attendant’s explanations were thorough, and everything tasted excellent. The final dish seemed especially delicious—my husband and son even asked for seconds. Breakfast was buffet-style. We went at a later time close to last order, but we were not rushed at all and could enjoy our meal comfortably until the end. We chose late check-out as well. Although there were hardly any other guests around at that time (at other Hotels with late check-out there are usually few staff members left and no send-off), they continued to assist us until departure—taking photos for us and seeing us off properly—which felt like outstanding service. In addition, there were foot reflexology massages as well as foot baths, hand baths, and even face baths. Our Plan also included lounge access—all of which we enjoyed. It is rare to find such a large Ryokan (Hotel) with excellent Facility offerings, ample staffing levels, great service, plus wonderful meals and Onsen. It really shows their dedication. We had a very satisfying stay. Thank you very much.

We made a same-day Reservation for a family of four, and were truly impressed by the warm, attentive hospitality. The Ryokan has a wonderful sense of history and is beautifully maintained, making our stay very comfortable. Located right next to Izumo Taisha Shrine, we were able to visit early in the cool morning, enjoy a delicious local breakfast at the Ryokan, and take our time shopping afterward.

I was looking for a Room with an open-air bath and in-room dining. About a 45-minute drive from Kanazawa, with a zoo and the mysterious Hanibe Gankutsu-in nearby, it felt like the perfect place for the first night of our 2-night, 3-day trip, so we decided to stay here. First, when we arrived about 10 minutes past check-in time, everyone was waiting outside in this heat, and since we weren’t used to that kind of welcome, we felt truly apologetic (lol). I was surprised by how vast the grounds were—our Room was spacious, and best of all, it had the semi open-air bath I’d been hoping for! Having a dedicated staff member (?) take care of us throughout our stay also made us feel at ease. This time it happened to be my companion’s birthday month… and when I casually mentioned it, they gave us a birthday gift at dinner. On top of that, the proprietress even put on a surprise (no spoilers), which made it such a fun and memorable experience. We heard the meals change daily, so I think even a Multiple Night Stay would be enjoyable. There are also two large public baths that are more than enough to enjoy even without an in-room bath—we were able to relax and unwind. Above all, we really appreciated the warm hospitality from all the staff. In the end everything worked out well, but since it was their birthday month I requested an additional dinner item in advance; however, on the day we were told that if we ordered that menu they would like to serve dinner not in our Room but in another private dining room instead. Since I had been looking forward to in-room dining as well, I would have appreciated being informed at the time of ordering that this might happen. That said, the room they prepared for us was private—and actually it worked out better for messy people like us because we didn’t have to rush around tidying up before dinner—so we were very satisfied. Next time I’m thinking of visiting during my own birthday month so I can experience the proprietress’s surprise again. Thanks to you all, it turned into a wonderful Kanazawa trip. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and it was excellent—the amenities were well stocked and the Room was clean and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious and delicious. The service was also very polite and attentive. This is a Ryokan we would definitely recommend.

The hospitality was outstanding. From check-in to check-out, the staff were consistently attentive. Especially at checkout, they even wiped the car windows. It had rained the night before, so the windows may have been dirty, but this was the first time anyone has ever done that for me—I was truly impressed. Both the quality and quantity of the meals were very satisfying. Dinner featured a duck hot pot as the main dish, along with plenty of extras such as sashimi and Kasumi crab (benizuwai crab). Everything was delicious. If I had to mention anything, it would be that the Ryokan’s bath is small and it’s a bit away from the center of town. Personally, I enjoyed walking around while exploring and visiting different public baths, and they also said they could drive guests there upon request. As for the small bath at the Ryokan, I think it works well if you make use of the public baths too while still enjoying what’s available on-site. I would definitely like to stay again. The views from the window—an unmanned station and the sea—were beautiful, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. Every dish was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab and shrimp. The Accommodation was quiet throughout, with a soothing atmosphere that made time feel as if it were gently passing by, allowing us to forget everyday life and truly unwind. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again in a different season.

This is a small Ryokan with a strong sense of history, and as soon as you step through the entrance, you are welcomed by a classic Japanese Ryokan that blends beautifully with nature. The attentive service from the staff and the view of Kakusenkei Gorge from the Room made for a wonderful welcome. The Onsen is also small, but it was calm and very relaxing. Most impressive of all was the dining experience—every detail, from the food to the presentation and tableware, was outstanding. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to.

I have no complaints about the Ryokan. I was surprised to be able to enjoy red snow crab even in summer. The in-Room dining service was also excellent. Just one point: the sweet shrimp at dinner was outstanding, but the Ryokan I stayed at the next day in Amanohashidate was better in terms of the sweetness of its miso (probably just by chance...). I would definitely like to visit in winter.

Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay. We truly appreciate your accommodating our food allergies. The meals were absolutely delicious. The Ryokan baths, the private bath, and the public hot springs were all wonderful. It was a shame we couldn’t visit all of the public baths, but we’d love to come back and do a full hot spring tour next time! As for amenities, we didn’t have any particular issues, but I happened to forget my makeup remover and thought it would have been helpful if the Ryokan had one available. We’re grateful for the lovely time we had. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed a crab kaiseki meal, and every dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious, allowing us to fully savor the winter flavors of the San’in region. The Room was equipped with a massage chair, so after warming up in the Onsen we could relax and loosen up at our own pace, making our stay very comfortable. It felt as though the fatigue from our trip simply melted away, and we appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail. When we arrived by car, three staff members welcomed us, and their warm greeting immediately brought a smile to our faces. Throughout our stay, every staff member was courteous and pleasant, which made us feel at ease. We felt that the excellent hospitality further enhances this Accommodation’s appeal. It was a highly satisfying stay where both body and mind could truly rest. We would love to visit again.

Even though I don’t swim in the sea, I travel solo year-round in search of gourmet Accommodations near the coast (for the food and scenery). I was delighted to be upgraded to a sea-view Room. It was a Japanese-style Room, but it also had a leather sofa and ottoman, so I could stretch out and relax while gazing at the ocean. When I woke up around 5:00, I was able to watch a beautiful sunrise from the Room. There is a calm inner-sea beach right in front of the Accommodation, and there are showers as well—great for families with small children. The meals were outstanding, featuring an abundance of local specialties. My main goal was Wakasa-guji (tilefish), but it was even more delicious than I imagined—the Wakasa-guji ochazuke was exceptional. And the Matsunaga rice was unbelievably good (probably the best I’ve ever had). I didn’t use the public bath and used the shower in my Room instead, but I loved that the shampoo and conditioner were Hokurokusousui—one of my favorite brands—and it helped me relax. Recently there have been more Accommodations renovated from wooden buildings, but some noise—voices and footsteps—is unavoidable. You can often hear children as well. It’s not exactly quiet. However, more than making up for that, I felt each staff member’s hospitality and way of interacting with guests was wonderful. In particular: the woman with glasses who assisted me at check-in; the woman at breakfast (I’m sorry—I forgot your name); and one of the male staff members who kindly gave me helpful advice for sightseeing in Obama after check-out. Thanks to them, it became more than just an overnight stay—I had a chance to learn even more about Obama, making this trip extremely satisfying. I heard that midwinter is especially good for grouper, pufferfish, and Echizen crab. As transportation access improves from here on out, this will be an Accommodation you’ll want to visit even more. Next time it would be perfect if I could borrow a firmer pillow!! Please make that happen on my next visit!! (I can’t sleep if a pillow doesn’t suit me.) First, the young woman who escorted us to our Room had beautiful skin, and her professional service was very soothing. The two types of Onsen were great—especially the brown one, which was pleasantly salty and exactly my kind of Onsen. Maybe it was just my imagination, but my skin felt incredibly smooth afterward. This is just my personal opinion, but if the spring source temperature is low, I might soak longer if that small bath were a warm (lukewarm) Onsen. The Room was stylish as well. There were plenty of yukata and towels, so I could use fresh towels whenever I wanted with no stress. The free drinks were also very convenient. We only had breakfast, but the rice was glossy and delicious—I’d like to visit next time with dinner included.

We arrived by taxi from Hakodate Airport. There is also a bus stop within walking distance, which is convenient. The meals were plentiful, and the squid in particular was delicious. It’s best not to expect much in terms of the view from the Room. There are two convenience stores nearby, and the refrigerator was empty so we could use it freely. The Onsen was excellent, with smooth, light water. Everyone—from the front desk to meal service and futon setup—was friendly and always smiling, which was wonderful. We will stay here again when we visit Hakodate.
