We were satisfied with the meals, the Onsen, and the service. We were clearly informed that a group would be arriving later, which helped us plan ahead—so we could use the bath while it was quiet and manage accordingly.

This trip was planned so my elderly mother could travel while she still can. We really appreciated being given a Room close to the car, which was very helpful. We had a comfortable stay throughout. The bath in particular had wonderfully silky water, and we were very satisfied. There were plenty of drinks available, which was great, but it would have been even better if tea bags were provided so we could have hot tea. We borrowed some board games and enjoyed them together—it was a lot of fun. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

The staff were courteous and kind. The Room was comfortable, and the kids were very happy. Above all, the bath was amazing. Our whole family agreed—it was so relaxing we could have stayed in it forever!! The kids even said, “We want to stay one more night!!” It was that comfortable, and we’re glad we chose to stay here. Thank you for taking such great care of us. We’d love to come again.

Shuttle Service, two meals, a towel, and one drink were included for around 10,000 yen. It was very reasonable, close to the sea, and the view from the Room was fantastic. There are also sightseeing spots like the Anmo Observatory, which made the experience excellent. I would love to visit again.

Our family of three stayed here. From the moment we entered the Hotel, a lovely aroma greeted us, and it was soothing throughout our stay wherever we were. We were satisfied with everything—the staff service, delicious meals, location, and large public bath. We would love to visit again.

As soon as we stepped inside, we were amazed by the gorgeous interior and how much closer the ocean was than we had imagined. The ocean view was truly breathtaking—an experience you don’t often get. The welcome drinks at check-in came in many varieties, which made it feel special and was perfect hospitality on a hot day. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared at the time we requested, so we could relax. For dinner, the BBQ included local meats, seafood, vegetables, and more, with explanations provided for each item. It was our first time using this type of grill, but the staff kindly showed us how to use it, so even beginners could grill everything deliciously with confidence. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and we were very satisfied with dinner. We usually have to prepare everything ourselves for a BBQ (including cleanup), so it was great that the Hotel took care of everything. After dinner, we enjoyed coffee while watching the sunset. Three types of coffee beans and an electric grinder were provided, along with instructions on how to use the grinder and recommended grind sizes—so we could enjoy freshly brewed coffee and spend a truly special time. There was a jacuzzi on the terrace bath area, and our kids were thrilled since it was their first time. The amenities for children included cute dolphin toothbrushes and sponges, which they loved. For adults, there were ReFa shower heads as well as a hair dryer, hair iron/curling iron tools? , hair oil? etc., leaving our hair smoother than usual—we were delighted. The croissants and roast beef at breakfast were also delicious. We would definitely like to stay again.

Even when we arrived early 10 years ago on a family trip, they kindly let us use the pool. This time we stayed as a couple, and just like 10 years ago, all the staff were warm and welcoming, making our stay very comfortable. We would definitely like to stay here again. Having had a great impression last time, I decided to return after several years, and my positive feelings have only grown. First, the accommodation is impeccably maintained and cleaned in every corner, making for a very pleasant stay. This level of care is not easy to achieve. The meals are heartfelt and allow you to fully enjoy the bounty of the sea. Additionally, while the panoramic bath with an ocean view is not an onsen, it can be enjoyed in the morning as well and was spotlessly clean. The guest rooms and bedding are simple as it is a guesthouse, but yukata robes and bath towels are provided. It may not suit those seeking luxury ryokan services; however, for travelers looking for an enjoyable trip at a reasonable price, I wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation.

The other day, I had my annual “crab day” at Genmyoan again. This time they prepared Taiza crab for me, and I was able to enjoy it. It was three hours of satisfaction—satisfied, satisfied, truly satisfied. They do not serve hot pot dishes like “crab suki” here, and I agree that turning such great crab into a hot pot would be a waste. That is exactly why I keep choosing Genmyoan. They said it snowed quite a bit this year, but on my visit there was only a little snow left along the roadside. Genmyoan sits halfway up the mountain, and I believe it may be the only place with this kind of view looking down over Amanohashidate. The location is outstanding. As shown in the photos, being able to enjoy scenery that changes with time from your Room is very appealing. On the other hand, when it snows heavily, driving up the mountain road can be difficult. When I asked the proprietress this time, she told me that during severe snow they will come to pick guests up at Amanohashidate Station with rubber boots in the car. Being able to change into them at the station would be reassuring. (They provide Shuttle Service to the Accommodation regardless of snow.) Also, once you are past 70—even if it’s a once-a-year indulgent crab day—you may worry about not being able to finish everything. It seems they can adjust portions if you request in advance. If they can reduce the amount without compromising quality, you can keep enjoying it at any age. Because this relates to IKYU’s website meal listings and pricing, I do wonder how flexible such arrangements can be—but I would appreciate continued consideration for guests’ convenience. Lastly, their breakfast is also delicious: even when you feel you ate too much crab dinner-wise, you still end up overeating at breakfast. The Onsen has been refurbished and is clean. There is a tasting corner for chilled sake (you can sample and choose before dinner), and there is now a coffee room as well. There is also a room lined with CDs/DVDs/books from the owner’s personal collection; you can bring them back to your Room and enjoy them there. It feels like an Accommodation where each guest can find their own way to relax and have fun.

A sophisticated and stylish space where we enjoyed an amazing sauna experience and BBQ. The actual place is even better than the photos. It was my first time truly feeling the comfort of the sauna and that sense of "refreshment"—it was absolutely incredible! The kitchen facilities were both stylish and well-equipped, making me dream of having a similar setup at home. Although it was cloudy, we could still see countless stars in the vast night sky, and the serene ocean view provided a calming atmosphere. This is definitely a place I want to visit again.

In addition to the splendid golden eye snapper, the sashimi and other dishes were also delicious and we really enjoyed them. The pudding was great too, but my personal favorite was the quiche. The owner, the hostess, and all the staff were kind and attentive. The Nekomatagi Championship was also fun. We were able to use the bath whenever we wanted for the most part. The guestbook mentioned facial lotion, but it wasn’t available in the bath area, so it would be even better if it were provided. With handmade town guides and other thoughtful touches, we felt a lot of warmth. It was a busy weekend trip, but a truly relaxing stay.

This was my first stay. Even in an everyday setting, the Onsen and sauna are right in front of you, and you can use them anytime you feel like it. The staff’s service was just the right level—in a good way. It truly was a stress-free Accommodation. There was nothing to worry about, so I relaxed a little too much and didn’t quite get fully refreshed. I’d like to come back soon for another reset. It was a wonderful Accommodation. Recently, my wife and I decided we wanted to visit an Onsen, so we planned a trip to Beppu. After checking in at Yumetsuki, we stayed overnight at Resort Ougiyama. Thank you for the courteous and easy-to-understand explanation at check-in. Next time we travel to Beppu, we would like to stay at Yumetsuki. Because it comes with a private Onsen managed for each room, it’s a great option for those who aren’t comfortable with large public baths—just like us (haha). The Onsen was very relaxing and completely relieved our fatigue. We’d love to come again. Thank you very much.

Facilities & Surroundings There are very few shared Facilities, and the overall layout is compact. There isn’t much to do within walking distance nearby, so it felt difficult to go out without a car. Room The Room isn’t especially spacious, but it has the basic essentials. It feels more like a vacation home than a Hotel, with a noticeable “home-like” atmosphere for better or worse. Some details also feel cost-conscious in design, which may come down to personal preference. Onsen There is only an open-air bath, but it was enough to enjoy during the stay. Service Rather than the polished service you might expect from typical Hotel staff, the operation felt relatively casual. If you’re expecting luxury-Hotel-level professionalism and hospitality, it may feel different from what you imagine. Dining The cuisine is French-inspired and makes good use of local ingredients; overall, everything was delicious. That said, in the latter courses it felt less about premium ingredients themselves and more about creatively finishing dishes with comparatively lower-cost items. Considering the restaurant on its own, my satisfaction level felt around JPY 20,000 per person. Overall Review While the dining was excellent, considering this as “staying as an overnight guest,” I felt the price was somewhat high when factoring in the Room and overall Facilities. On the other hand, if viewed more like usage rights or a membership-style Accommodation rather than a standard Hotel stay, your perspective may differ. Overall, this seems better suited for those who want to enjoy quiet surroundings along with dining and an Onsen experience than for those seeking a distinctly luxurious getaway or highly attentive service.

We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s 77th birthday. The meals, Room, and baths helped us unwind from everyday fatigue—if anything, I ended up enjoying myself the most. The ingredients and the care put into each one were outstanding. Everything was delicious. If I had to mention one facility-related point: after leaving the sauna in the large public bath, it would be even better if there were an option not only for a shower but also something like a hand bucket to pour cold water over yourself (even without a cold plunge pool). Above all, the staff were wonderful. Although this Accommodation has only just opened, everyone was highly experienced. We were truly impressed by the hospitality and attentive service. My parents love chatting and spoke to you a lot, but you responded kindly and thoughtfully. My parents were very happy as well. Thank you very much. We will definitely return.

The living room is spacious, there are many guest rooms, a large TV, a pool, sauna, and barbecue facilities. It was enjoyable without needing to travel abroad. It was unfortunate that the knives were not sharp enough to prepare fish. I would love to stay here again.

Weekday stay for a family of four in two rooms. The room was spacious and clean for two people. Dinner was luxurious, with enough sashimi to fill you up—highly recommended for seafood lovers. Other dishes like sukiyaki, soup, and chawanmushi were also very delicious. The staff provided friendly and attentive service with smiles, though having a menu would have been nice. For the bath, caution is needed as the large public bath's tub can be slippery. The outdoor bath was slightly lukewarm. Access to the rooftop open-air bath requires calling the front desk beforehand, so it’s best to make an early reservation as late-night or early-morning visits might inconvenience the staff (I regret not asking if multiple time slots could be reserved). However, if it's clear, you can enjoy stunning views of sunsets or starry skies from there—it’s refreshing! I’d love to stay again if I get another chance. Thank you!

We really enjoyed a variety of fish and left feeling completely satisfied. Breakfast was refreshing, with a menu that was a little different from other Accommodations. The Onsen can be reserved for private use, so we were able to relax and really enjoyed it.

The view from the window, though across the road, was very beautiful, and the sunrise was stunning. The staff responded kindly to various requests, and during our Multiple Night Stay, it was very comfortable. We also enjoyed a BBQ with ingredients we bought ourselves. I would love to stay here again! As a side note, if you stay here, I highly recommend trying the bread from Bakery Misaki at the nearby Calico Resort for breakfast!

Very satisfied because I can use Honoka-no-Yu. The freely available kitchen is also a huge help. The Room and Facility are excellent. If I had to mention one thing, since it’s a cabin-type Room, some people may be concerned that it cannot be locked.
