The meals were truly outstanding. The sake pairings were also excellent. This is an Accommodation I definitely want to return to for the first time in a while.

I stayed at your accommodation two and a half years ago. At that time, the Hokuriku Shinkansen had not yet opened in Fukui Prefecture, so the nearest station was Takefu Station on the Hokuriku Main Line (now Happiline Fukui), and it took about 10 minutes by taxi to reach your accommodation. Now, with Echizen-Takefu Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen as the nearest station, it is conveniently located within walking distance for those traveling by Shinkansen. The room I stayed in was on the top floor of your seven-story accommodation. As shown in the images, you can see Route 8, the Hokuriku Shinkansen, and Hokuriku Expressway from there; however, my room faced away from Echizen-Takefu Station and Takefu Interchange. The design of this room reminded me of a hotel near Kanazawa Station (Via Inn Kanazawa), where a bed was placed next to a sofa in a similar layout. After relaxing briefly in my room, I went to the dining area on the first floor. The menu included some local specialties from Fukui (such as Echizen soba and sauce katsudon). I chose sauce katsudon for my meal. Afterward, I returned to my room and enjoyed a pleasant time there. The next morning when I looked out of my window, I saw beautiful morning scenery (as shown in two images). After checking out of your accommodation, I walked to Echizen-Takefu Station and boarded the Shinkansen for further sightseeing. I was truly impressed with staying at your hotel near this convenient Shinkansen station location. Thank you very much! I'd love to stay again!

I stayed for two nights starting July 22. This time, my Room faced the Nasu mountain range, so the view was wonderful. The meals were delicious again. Since this was my second stay in July, you kindly changed the menu for me. Next time, I’ll visit with my children and their family.

I stayed with my mother, and we were satisfied with everything! The Room was spacious, bright, and spotless—almost too much for just the two of us. The bath was the perfect size and temperature. Bathing while listening to the morning birdsong was truly special. The meals I had been looking forward to most exceeded my expectations. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious, and with the lovely atmosphere of the dining area, we had a wonderful time. We didn’t often see the Ryokan staff rushing around, but perhaps that’s part of their consideration so guests can relax in peace and quiet. If so, it’s impressively thorough. My mother especially loved it (as did I), so we would definitely like to stay again!

We stayed in the Force Room. Thank you for accommodating our last-minute Reservation.\nAlthough the Room is a separate building with a thatched roof, it is not an old traditional house; the interior has the latest facilities, so we were able to stay as comfortably as we would at a city Hotel.\nFrom the Room, we could see the thatched roofs of other rooms, and it felt like we had traveled back in time to another world.\nWe used the spacious open-air bath in our Room; the hot spring water was slightly cloudy with mineral deposits floating on top, and it was wonderful.\nThe large public bath is also right by the river, offering an open, airy feel and an excellent location.\nHighly recommended Accommodation.

I’ve stayed at various Vacation Villages, but Retreat Azumino Hotel was completely different from any of them! This Hotel is too good to enjoy in just one night. It made me want a Multiple Night Stay. It’s quiet, spotless, and I have nothing to complain about.

The Onsen water has a silky, soothing quality and feels wonderful, but above all, the kids’ room was fantastic. Our 3-year-old grandchild loves it and had fun the entire time again on this visit. Seeing that happy smile is the best gift for us grandparents. This is our third stay this year, and we also have a Reservation for December 31 at year-end.

My husband grew up in a ranch in Hokkaido, while I was raised in the city. Drawn to this thatched-roof Accommodation, we stayed here for the first time. From the view at the entrance, we were amazed by the extraordinary, nostalgic buildings and the rice fields spreading out in front of them! We both fell completely in love with it. The Onsen is also wonderful—the free-flowing natural spring water is slightly lukewarm, perfect for a long soak. It leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. What’s especially impressive about this Accommodation is the many furnishings and antiques placed throughout, delighting the eyes everywhere you look! It feels like visiting an art museum. Truly amazing! My husband can be quite particular, but he absolutely loved it and says he definitely wants to come again in autumn. Getting to the annex using the cart and monorail was also fun and brought back childhood memories. Thank you so much for such a wonderful place.

We stayed here on a trip with a family we know, and it was wonderful as always. We’ve stayed several times, so both my wife and I can relax with peace of mind—this is our favorite hot spring Accommodation. The family staying with us was also very satisfied, making it the perfect vacation. Since one of our group had difficulty walking, we truly appreciate you accommodating our various requests. We’d love to stay again. Thank you always.

I stayed for two nights as a solo traveler. The Hotel and my Room were very clean, and I was able to enjoy the Onsen and large public bath comfortably. Although it was all-inclusive, I chose to add a luxurious dinner and breakfast on both nights, and I was truly impressed that the menus were changed each day. The locally sourced ingredients were delicious, and in particular the olive-fed beef was tender and easy to eat even when well done. Even as a solo guest, the staff treated me warmly. The restaurant staff especially spoke with me with genuine smiles, creating a relaxed atmosphere that left me with wonderful memories of my trip. Thank you very much. The lounge I used after dinner was also very spacious with a great ambiance, and I was surprised by the wide variety of drinks available. They even served udon as a late-night snack, which really gave me a taste of Kagawa. I sincerely appreciate everyone’s warm hospitality. This is a Hotel I would love to stay at again when I visit Kagawa.

This was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Our family takes 2–3 trips a year to an Onsen Accommodation that we can reach from Tokyo for one night, usually spending around ¥30,000–¥40,000 per person. My wife chooses the Accommodation each time, but lately none have been memorable enough to stand out—until now. For the first time in a while, we found an Accommodation we genuinely want to return to. Many of the staff are from Southeast Asia, but they told us they have passed JLPT N1 and also undergo a full year of training. We never once had any trouble communicating. I previously lived in Thailand for about five years, so I already knew people from Southeast Asia are often even more diligent and hardworking than Japanese people—but I was still impressed by just how much care they showed. We had an extremely comfortable stay. These days many staff don’t wear name tags (perhaps due to measures against customer harassment), so I didn’t catch anyone’s name, but I would especially like to thank the woman in charge of our Room for her wonderful hospitality and thoughtfulness. The heartfelt send-off by all staff after checkout truly moved us. As for the Onsen, both the water quality and bath area were honestly fairly standard, but everything was very clean. One thing I did notice: it’s great that you don’t need to bring towels into the bath area, but you still need things like a change of underwear or your phone—so in the end we carried them in a plastic grocery bag. Many other Onsen provide a larger drawstring pouch for this purpose; I would appreciate having one available in the Room. Also, my wife mentioned that she felt uneasy about how dark it was on the way to the large bath and inside it as well. Lastly, we felt the air conditioner was slightly loud—just sharing this as feedback. And most importantly: the meals were outstanding! The balance, portion size, and taste were all impeccable—nothing at all to complain about. I’m a big eater and often find meals at Accommodations not quite enough; this time I shared small portions of my wife’s meal with our son as well and still felt about 90% full—in other words, very satisfied without being overwhelmed. While breakfast is often disappointing at many places, breakfast here was also excellent—especially because it wasn’t that typical thin and overly crispy dried horse mackerel you often see elsewhere. And above all—the wasabi was delicious! Being able to get refills freely was fantastic. In any case, we definitely want to come again. Thank you very much.

We were completely satisfied with everything—the restaurant, the Room, and the large Onsen bath. Since we were traveling with my elderly parents, the staff kindly accommodated us by assigning a Room near the elevator. At the buffet restaurant as well, they immediately understood our request as soon as we sat down, and everything went smoothly. At the Japanese restaurant, there were many non-Japanese staff alongside experienced Japanese staff, and everyone was very polite, making our stay truly comfortable. The Room was spacious with an easy-to-live-in layout, which was great. The Onsen left our skin feeling wonderfully smooth.

During our 2-night, 3-day stay, we were able to truly relax both body and mind. Since we live in Saitama and this is Kagoshima, we can’t visit often, but we would definitely love to return. From the warm welcome to the delicious dinner… the treats of shochu and fireworks… I’m still thinking about how best to describe how wonderful it all was. The food was never flashy; instead, it was carefully prepared using freshly harvested vegetables and local fish and meat, and it felt as if I was becoming healthier from the inside out. Simply delicious! You can also feel the attention given to the tableware and presentation. The hot spring water… without a doubt, it was outstanding. We also felt completely at ease in our Room. Above all, we could sense kindness and care in every detail. The message written on a beautiful leaf, and the rice balls and rolled omelet you gave us to take when going out or returning—both were heartwarming and delicious. Thank you very much. Your warm hospitality—while maintaining just the right distance for each guest—was excellent in every way. This Accommodation reminded us of a gentle kindness that daily busyness had made us forget. Lastly… we hope that adorable pair of chickens stays healthy for a long time. Thank you for such wonderful memories. We would love to visit again for sure.

Upon arrival, we were guided by a cart to our Room while still in the car, and the check-in process and explanations were handled smoothly and efficiently. We took a walk before dinner, and when we entered the main building, it was a wonderful place with great atmosphere, where we enjoyed a very delicious dinner. I felt it was great to be able to spend such a relaxing time with my wife.

We stayed with you at the beginning of August. We visited with 2 adults and 3 children (6th grade, 3rd grade, and kindergarten), and everyone was extremely satisfied. Our Room was the Deluxe Kousuiden with an open-air bath, and the atmosphere of the private open-air bath was amazing—our kids went in so many times we lost count! (LOL) Of course, the shared baths were also excellent, and since towels are provided there, we never had to worry about running out no matter how many times we bathed. The dinner buffet wasn’t “buffet-level” at all—it was truly delicious! The sushi, steak, and Häagen-Dazs were all fantastic. It was so good that I even managed to drink less alcohol than usual (LOL). The Facility options for kids were also great (arcade games, lounge, water play area outside the lounge, table tennis, etc.), and our family promised we would definitely come back. Also, my wife accidentally left her wallet in the safe when we checked out. Since we had to catch the dinosaur train, we didn’t have time to go back for it—but your staff checked immediately and reassured us so we could keep enjoying our day without worry. It arrived by mail the day after we got home, which really helped. We’ll definitely come visit again!

Last time, we stayed in January of last year. Even in the freezing cold, having a BBQ while sitting under the kotatsu on the balcony was so much fun. This time, we returned at the end of summer with our senior dog. It was the best season, and we fully enjoyed the black-water Onsen both indoors and in the large public bath. The staff’s greetings as we passed by, their willingness to help when we needed it, and the front desk team’s smiles and efficient guidance were even more pleasant than before. The thorough cleanliness may also be thanks to considerate guests… Wherever you go, you can truly feel how comfortable it is. This Accommodation keeps evolving for the better every day, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

I stayed here because it is close to Chuson-ji Temple. Even considering that it has only recently been renovated, the entire property—including the Room, Onsen, and shared areas—was kept very clean, and I had a very comfortable stay. The meals were excellent, and I was very satisfied to enjoy local specialties such as Maesawa beef steak, Sanriku seafood, Hatto soup, and Horohoro-zuke pickles. I would love to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

After the renovation, the Room was very clean and beautiful. The food was delicious, and the upgraded course had generous portions, so we were very satisfied. The rice from Fukui Prefecture is excellent. I usually eat only about half a bowl at breakfast, but I had a second serving. It was new-season rice and truly delicious. The lobby felt a bit warm. I also soaked in the bath for a long time and couldn’t stop sweating, and when heading back to the Room you have to pass through the lobby, which felt a little hot. It was very quiet and relaxing. Thank you for your hospitality.

This was the final Accommodation of my first trip to Niigata, a 3-night, 4-day journey. Our Room was the 2nd-floor Western-style twin [Marronnier]. The bathroom, with a separate toilet, was very convenient and made our mother-and-daughter trip extremely comfortable. The closet was spacious, and there were plenty of hangers. Just before check-in there are shoe lockers, and you can walk around the building barefoot or in socks. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the Room and along the corridors, you can enjoy views of wine grapes vineyards and the mountain range stretching from Mt. Yahiko. I visited looking forward to Vinespa’s aroma hot stone sauna, but I was told it is no longer available after renovations—such a shame. Still, the open-air baths placed throughout the garden offered wonderful scenery, and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking both after dinner and before breakfast. Restaurant Cave d’Occi is beyond a European-style garden that is carefully maintained by gardeners. The April menu—beautifully presented and truly delicious—featured local ingredients (hairy crab, celeriac root celery), spear squid), wild boar meat), flounder), roast beef smoked with branches from wine grapes vines), etc.) without feeling overdone). At the winery shop, I had my favorite Zweigeltrebe and unoaked Chardonnay shipped home). The next morning’s Japanese breakfast surprised me—in a great way: zaru tofu with olive oil was delicious!! At checkout time) pizza toast) grape juice) at the library café tasted so good it made leaving hard). It’s an Accommodation that made me genuinely envy those who live nearby).

The Room interior and hospitality were outstanding. The cuisine was especially excellent, with a course featuring local vegetables, rice, and meat. It made for a truly wonderful anniversary.
