This was our seventh destination on our classic hotel tour. To be honest, among the classic hotels, we thought Kawana would be a “maybe if we can,” but we made a Reservation hoping to enjoy the pool during the Obon holidays. Now that our stay is over, it was so wonderful that we want to come to Kawana Hotel every summer. One thing we had researched in advance was the omurice said to have been eaten by Marilyn Monroe, and we knew we couldn’t miss it—so we went for lunch right after arrival. We enjoyed a relaxed meal at Sun Parlor in a beautiful setting with ocean views. We also had shaved ice at Sun Parlor. With condensed milk and honey harvested from beekeeping at Kawana, we changed the flavor ourselves with each bite and had fun tasting it different ways. Another highlight was the movie screening held in the second lobby at night. The film that day was Roman Holiday. Combined with the classic atmosphere of our Room, it felt like it created a truly special summer night. Since the pool and baths can be enjoyed even after check-out, we went back to the pool on day two as well. The natural spring water pool was very cold and refreshing; lying on a poolside bed with views of blue skies and the sea, listening to the splash of water, felt absolutely perfect. All of the staff were very kind. Compared with other classic hotels, this one felt especially welcoming, making for a stay that brought back nostalgic summer memories. We’d love to visit again next summer.

The building and Rooms are certainly old, but the view from the lobby, the delicious meals made with care using local ingredients, the hot Onsen, and above all, the pleasant hospitality of the staff made our stay very comfortable. Thank you for taking such good care of us. I would like to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

We stayed here after visiting the Kushiro Marsh. The medicinal cuisine dinner was delicious. The Onsen was spacious and clean, and it warmed us up and felt great. There is a guest-only laundry, which was very helpful. If we go to Kushiro again, we would like to stay here again.

Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations for a Business Hotel, but both the location and the cleanliness of the Room were excellent. It’s close to the station and conveniently located for shopping as well. The Room was spotless, making it very comfortable and easy to relax in. I didn’t use the Hotel dining or the large public bath, but a friend who stayed there did and strongly recommended it, saying, “You should definitely try it—go in! It’s really great.” I went out drinking late and had an early morning, so I couldn’t use it myself. That was a shame. I think it’s very convenient for anyone visiting Tokuyama! This is a Hotel I’d like to use again and highly recommend.

We chose this Accommodation because of the wonderful photos and great Reviews. We were more than satisfied with the owner’s even better hospitality and the comfortable space! Our two dogs also seemed to feel at ease, and they were able to relax from the first day. When we visit Nagasaki again, we would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

This was my second stay. When I called in advance to ask about setting up an oxygen concentrator, the staff responded very kindly and courteously, which made me feel at ease about my visit. On the day, they thoughtfully arranged a first-floor Room for me, and I truly appreciated their attention to detail. The Room itself was spacious, and I was able to relax comfortably throughout my stay. Thanks to their warm hospitality, it was a wonderful stay. I would definitely like to stay here again.

I woke up to rain, and in the morning open-air bath, the wet green maple leaves were glistening. Maybe I drank a little too much and ate too much yesterday? Time passed slowly, and I felt truly refreshed. What soothed me most was the smiles of the front desk team and the staff at Banri. Thank you very much.

This was my long-awaited trip to Huis Ten Bosch. I debated staying at one of the official Hotels inside the park, but chose this Hotel for its outstanding Facilities, the large number of positive Reviews, and the reassurance of the Okura brand. Even before arriving at the main entrance by car, I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the building’s exterior. The stepped atrium from the 1st to 3rd floors is also stunning and instantly set an exciting tone for a luxurious stay. The female bell staff member was extremely polite and helpful, saying, “We’ll take your luggage up via a separate elevator, so please go ahead to your Room.” When I entered, there was an adorable teddy bear on the table by the window. The message card read, “Happy Birthday,” and since it was my birthday month, it was such a delightful surprise! She also wished me a happy birthday in person, which truly moved me. From my Room I could see not only Huis Ten Bosch but also views out to open water—an amazing panorama. It was during the Obon holiday period so there must have been many guests, yet thanks to how spacious the Hotel is overall, it hardly felt crowded at all. Above all else, every staff member provided attentive service. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and usually find something to complain about somewhere—but this time everything was perfect and I had an entirely comfortable stay. While this Hotel is clearly ideal for visiting Huis Ten Bosch, once you cross the bridge there’s also a JR station (right along the waterfront—very memorable). On our second day we took the train into Sasebo. This Hotel is also very useful as a base for sightseeing in Nagasaki City or Sasebo. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes—both Japanese and Western—and I ended up eating far too much. This was my first trip to Nagasaki and Huis Ten Bosch, and it became an unforgettable travel memory. Next time I want to stay longer—this truly wonderful Hotel made me feel that way. The welcome drink, meals, and Room were all excellent at this Hotel. I would stay again if I have the opportunity. This is a highly recommended Hotel.

We were surprised to be served a welcome drink at check-in and to complete the procedures on the sofa, but both the Room and the food were incredibly stylish and amazing. There was no TV, which really made it feel like an escape from everyday life, and we thought that was part of what made it such a special space. From the moment we walked in, I feel like we said “Wow” about 20 times. We’d definitely love to come back again.

A no-frills Hotel that provides just what you need. The front desk ensures clear communication. Perfect for business trips or solo travelers. Spacious parking and a simple yet delicious breakfast service.

The staff were very courteous. The Room was very clean. Despite the reasonable price, you can use the large public bath, and parking is free. Gotemba Premium Outlets are nearby, and access is excellent! The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options and was very good!

This Accommodation is packed with the best of a traditional Ryokan, and our whole family was delighted. We were amazed by how spacious the bath was, and the grandkids were excited about the jungle-like atmosphere. It was cherry blossom season, and everything was spectacular—flower mats, petals floating on the water, hazy blossom skies, swirling petal showers, even a “path of blossoms”! The kids were also surprised by the waterwheel. Thank you for a wonderful time we will always remember.

Thank you for your hospitality. It rained that day, but on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji straight ahead from the lobby. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning; the homemade yogurt and dressings were made with quality ingredients and were delicious. It was a continental breakfast, but we left feeling very full. The bath was clean, and we could see the night view of Gotemba from the open-air bath. On a clear day, you can also see Mt. Fuji straight ahead. The staff were polite and welcoming with warm smiles. This time, we requested a Room on the Mt. Fuji side and stayed on the second floor. Because it was labeled “Mt. Fuji side,” we assumed we would be able to see Mt. Fuji from the window, but in reality we could only see forest. In that case, I feel there was no need to make a Reservation for the more expensive Mt. Fuji-side Room. In any event, it was a very nice Hotel overall. Thank you very much.

When stress becomes overwhelming and I feel like I need to escape somewhere, this is where I come. The staff warmly welcomed me from the heart, and the Onsen was gentle—I could soak slowly and relax. I’ve found a place that feels like saying, “I’m home,” and “See you later.” Thank you very much. (As I am on a restricted diet, I chose the no-meals Plan.)

We visited as three generations. The Facility, baths, and meals were all very satisfying, and it became a wonderful memory. Thank you to the staff member who took a photo for us as we were leaving on a busy morning. We look forward to enjoying the many autumn maple leaves. We will visit again.

I stayed here recently while touring the Jomo Sanzan mountains. The Accommodation felt a bit dated in places, but it was very well maintained and spotlessly clean throughout. The bath was on the small side, but perhaps because of the time I used it, I was able to relax both times without sharing it with other guests. I had been looking forward to dinner because the Reviews were so positive, and it lived up to my expectations—every dish was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. The presentation was also enjoyable, and it made me want to visit again just for the dinner. Above all, every staff member was pleasant and attentive, which left a strong impression. I felt comfortable throughout my stay and am very satisfied overall. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely like to stay again.

Wearing a hat in the misty drizzle, I will never forget being able to fully enjoy the beautiful mountain stream and its free-flowing Onsen straight from the source. The abundant volume of hot water, like a geyser, was truly the height of luxury and made for an exceptional holiday. However, it was disappointing that some young people got heavily drunk in the river bath late at night and were shouting loudly, but when I reported it you responded immediately, which I appreciated. I was deeply impressed by your dedication to maintaining order at this traditional Ryokan even at the expense of sleep. I understand there are limits to judging guests in advance, but I feel it would be better to provide thorough reminders beforehand. Sorry for my blunt suggestion. I know it must be difficult with so many different kinds of guests. Still, I thought that filtering out preventable trouble as much as possible would also make things easier for your staff. After all, I want to enjoy this beautiful stream-side hot spring source in peace—and that tranquility is what makes the wonderful cuisine and Room truly shine.

I stayed here after climbing Mt. Fuji. I was able to relax in a Japanese-style Room. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of both Japanese and Western dishes, and everything was delicious. I especially liked having an omelet made right in front of me. Parking is free, and check-out is at 11:00, so I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

This year, we stayed overnight with our dog. It was his first time swimming in the sea, and we enjoyed a BBQ together as well. He happily ate plenty of chicken, pork, and beef. Seeing his big smile made us so happy. At bedtime, we put him in his crate as required, but he wouldn’t stop whining at first (asking to be let out), and we were worried about disturbing the neighboring tents. After turning off the lights and waiting a while, he finally settled down. We’re sorry about that. We’d love to visit again with our dog next time.
