The Room, baths, and meals were all wonderful. Both the in-room bath and the private Kashinoki-no-Yu Onsen were excellent. When I mentioned that the handle on the bath basket had come off, they responded immediately. As for the food, when I told them I have gout and can’t eat pork, they adjusted part of the meal. Every dish was delicious, and you could really tell how carefully everything was prepared. The soba was also great. All of the staff we spoke with in various situations were very pleasant, and it truly became a memorable trip. The view from the Room was amazing as well. There was a light mist over the mountains, and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. It rained at night, but that actually made it even more relaxing with the sound of rain—I didn’t feel disappointed at all even though it rained. The American who traveled with me was impressed by everything and happily said they will definitely come again! I rarely write a Review no matter how much I travel, but Tsuruya was truly outstanding. If you’re considering a trip to Gunma, this is an Accommodation I would highly recommend—so I decided to write this Review. Next time, I’d love to enjoy the winter scenery along with the Onsen and meals. We will definitely visit again! Thank you very much.

Throughout our stay, we truly appreciated the refreshing, genuine Japanese hospitality and attentive service. The meals were just the right amount for a couple in our 50s with lighter appetites, and being served in our Room while maintaining high quality was excellent. We were also grateful for the thoughtful support when we had an issue. Just before checkout, someone passing by even helped carry our luggage, which showed how well trained the staff are. The price was on the higher side, but we received service worthy of it and enjoyed a very fulfilling vacation.

I booked this Onsen with a scenic-view bath after it caught my eye while searching for an Accommodation. Since meals are served in the Room, I was a bit concerned about staff coming in and out, but they delivered the food outside the door, which made it much more comfortable. We also laid out our own futons, so no one entered the Room during dinner—this suited us well. It felt like that helped keep the price a bit more reasonable. Dinner had many dishes and was delicious, and we were even more satisfied with the tasty local rice. The bath was a good size and perfect for relaxing at our own pace. The Shuttle Service to the station was also very convenient. We’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here while sightseeing along the Niyodo River. First of all, the Room with its beautiful view along the river was wonderful. The dining area was spacious, and the meals were outstanding—especially the straw-seared bonito, which was so delicious I could have eaten endless amounts. The sukiyaki, as well as dishes featuring shrimp and ayu sweetfish, were also excellent; each had a Japanese touch that brought out the best in the fresh ingredients, and I was truly satisfied. The Onsen had very pleasant water, and in the open-air bath—believe it or not—a rhinoceros beetle and other insects you don’t usually see in Kansai flew by on the way in, which made it a lot of fun. The Okyaku Lounge was also well stocked with drinks, snacks, and even ice cream, so I could relax comfortably. For breakfast, I enjoyed a bowl where you can choose from Kochi-style ingredients and arrange your own toppings. If I have another chance to visit Kochi, I would definitely like to stay again. It became a truly wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

We were planning an Onsen trip to celebrate my mother, and it was the first trip for three generations of our family. Since my mother cannot use the large public bath, we looked for a Room with a private open-air bath. Thanks to that, she was able to enjoy the Onsen. The bath in our Room was also fed by Onsen water, and she was very happy. We chose the standard kaiseki meal, but the portions were more than enough—so much that my sons had to give up at both dinner and breakfast. When I requested a cake for my mother’s 88th birthday celebration, they even prepared a red celebratory vest (chanchanko) for her as well, and we truly appreciated their thoughtfulness. The building was clean. The large public bath was small but spotless, and we were very satisfied. In the lobby there was a local sake tasting service, and in the morning there was also coffee service—everything felt very well provided. Our whole family was extremely satisfied. All of the staff were kind, and we had a comfortable stay. It became a wonderful celebratory trip. Thank you very much.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! Thank you very much—we’d love to come again if we have another chance. (*Menus and types of insects may vary depending on season and timing.)

Even though it was the day of the Gion Festival Yamaboko Junko parade and there were many guests, I had a comfortable stay. I went to the Onsen early, so it wasn’t crowded and I could relax. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was delicious—I ended up eating too much. I would like to stay again.

My spouse and I stayed for one night starting July 19. From the pickup at the station to sightseeing guidance after checkout, your attentive hospitality and thoughtful care made our stay truly comfortable. Thank you very much. The teppanyaki dinner course delighted both our eyes and our taste buds, and the chef’s enjoyable conversation made the evening even better—we left feeling full and in great spirits. We hope to visit again during a pleasant season. With sincere gratitude!

All the staff were very kind. My family of three stayed in the Room “Engetsu,” and it was spacious enough. The bath and dining area were on the same floor, so access was excellent. The bath was fully stocked—not only shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but also facial cleanser, makeup remover, toner, and lotion—and the water had a wonderfully silky feel. The meals were outstanding as well. We enjoyed a relaxing sea bream feast in our Room. They even included beer as a complimentary service, and we were truly impressed by their thoughtful attention to detail. We had breakfast in the dining area; there was a great variety of side dishes, and everything was delicious too. When I visit Shirahama again, I would definitely like to stay at Akariya again.

As a rare Onsen Accommodation that uses 100% free-flowing natural spring water with no added water or heating, it immediately caught my interest as an Onsen lover, so I decided to stay here. The Onsen was a little hot, but the water was very clear and felt wonderful. The Key Bath and Standing Bath were fascinating along with their history, and the private riverside bath offered a relaxing soak while looking out over the Yoshii River stream—truly a pleasant Onsen experience. The building has a great atmosphere and feels calm and comfortable. The staff were also kind, courteous, and welcoming. I had a genuinely enjoyable stay, but considering the price, there were a few disappointing points. For an Accommodation in this class, I expected complimentary drinks (free flow), but that wasn’t the case—even items in the refrigerator were charged. There is tea in the Room, but no coffee, and there is no coffee service in the lobby either. After dinner there was wine, alcohol, and coffee service at a house across the street where we could relax for a while, but snacks to go with drinks still cost extra. Since this is such a lovely place overall, I only wished these kinds of services were offered just a little more generously.

I stayed at this Accommodation yesterday! The service was very attentive, and the in-room open-air bath was flawless. Watching the staff grill and prepare sushi right in front of us at dinner and breakfast made the experience even better. Thank you for a wonderful one-night stay!

They were extremely kind. The next day, I tried to book a sightseeing taxi, but none were available and I was in trouble. A member of the Hotel staff kindly showed me around for half a day. Thank you so much. It may be rude to say this, but I was surprised to find such a wonderful Hotel in Oki.

The meals were beautifully presented and delicious, and the bath was wonderfully soothing—its gentle water warmed me to the core. The places we visited based on the owner’s advice (a walk and a roadside station) were also excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service of being able to use three yukata per person for a one-night stay, which is something you rarely find elsewhere, allowing us to relax in comfort. The attention to detail and thoughtful hospitality throughout were outstanding, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

There’s no welcome drink—check-in is simple. However, the Room does have snacks and tea. I found it a bit inconvenient that there was only one key. The dining area is refined, and I really enjoyed the salt-grilled ayu cooked over the irori right in front of us. That said, there was no explanation at the start that certain alcoholic drinks were all-you-can-drink, so I would have appreciated a brief note upfront. I asked later and then ordered. Also, since your hands get messy when eating ayu, it would be nice to have an extra hand towel. Overall, the service felt minimal for the price. Still, everything was very clean, the renovations were nicely done, and the food was delicious—so I was very satisfied overall. It’s an Accommodation I’d like to stay at again.

It was a wonderful Room with a stunning view of rolling hills and distant mountains. The meals were beautifully presented, highly original Japanese cuisine, and the distinctive tableware—together with the interior—created a strong sense of cohesive style. The service was also pleasant, and their dedication really came through. Thank you for allowing us to spend such a relaxing, peaceful time.

Because it is located a little away from Yubatake, we were able to spend a very quiet and relaxing time. The interior has a refined, design-forward atmosphere, yet since the building was originally a cottage and has been renovated, it also feels wonderfully cozy with the warmth and scent of wood. The guest-room bath with free-flowing Onsen water direct from the source was a bit hot at first, but once we got used to it, it felt amazing and allowed us to fully enjoy Kusatsu’s Onsen. After bathing, we felt warmed through to the core and our skin felt pleasantly moisturized. Even the amenities such as lotion were high quality, and we could sense attention to detail throughout. Both dinner and breakfast were truly outstanding, and each dish reflected great care in ingredient selection. The vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, and Joshu beef grilled over a wood fire had an especially fragrant savoriness that left a strong impression. The octopus rice at dinner and the white rice cooked in an earthenware pot at breakfast were also exceptional—perfect with grated yam and bonito flakes. It was a meal where you could really appreciate how delicious the rice itself is. We are not very knowledgeable about wine or sake, but there was an impressive selection, and the well-informed master recommended options tailored to our preferences—making this Accommodation particularly appealing for those who love drinks. Some past Reviews included harsh comments, but after staying ourselves, we could clearly see sincere efforts to improve; it felt like this Accommodation continues to evolve into something even better. Even understatedly put, it was an exceptional stay. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Facility offerings, Onsen baths, cuisine, and hospitality. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that we would absolutely want to stay again when visiting Kusatsu.

The food was simply outstanding. There were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all. The bath is small, but there is also an open-air bath, and everything was clean; it warmed us up nicely. We enjoyed chatting with the proprietress and her daughter, and had a pleasant, comfortable stay. We’re glad we chose Minami Ryokan.

I debated for a long time whether to write a Review, but I decided to do so. The food was excellent, and I was satisfied with the bath. However, there were several shortcomings in how my comments entered at the time of Reservation via IKYU were handled, which left me disappointed.

This was our first trip to Shikoku by car from the Kanto area. Since my husband loves saunas, we often look for an Accommodation with a private sauna. This one isn’t completely private, but we chose it because the view from the barrel sauna is truly one of a kind. Right up until checkout, we were picking up shells with our child, spotting fish, chasing fast-moving crabs… and we were surprised to even see a ray-like fish. Even though we’re adults, we got way too excited—now that we’re back home, it honestly feels like the Urashima Taro story. For dinner, we had the “Tamatebako” shabu-shabu and added the optional sashimi. The photos didn’t show any carbs, but the shabu-shabu came with udon noodles to finish, and the portions were more than enough for our family of four. There were two types of meat in two tiers, plus plenty of vegetables—it felt very generous and good value. We couldn’t finish everything at night and had the udon the next morning! Are those breakfast croissants sold anywhere? They were so delicious! To the woman who explained everything in the building: when you showed us to our Room and saw that we’d bought lots of alcohol, you kindly said, “Please go ahead and use the fridge as soon as possible!” That thoughtfulness made me really happy—I wondered if you enjoy drinks too. Needless to say, the scenery was incredible. We were blessed with great weather and spent an unbelievably happy time there. There aren’t pajama-like items provided, so I slept in my sauna poncho—but Nishikawa bedding was very comfortable. It was also convenient to have two hair dryers. A drum-type washer/dryer would be even more convenient someday—please consider it (haha). Next time I’d love to book a Multiple Night Stay! Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We stayed with a family of four and three dogs. It was our first trip traveling with dogs, so we had some concerns, but the Hotel was very dog-friendly and we were extremely satisfied. The Room was more spacious and cleaner than we expected. The bath on the second floor felt a little cool. Since it wasn’t a cold season, it only bothered us slightly. We would love to stay here again when we visit Amakusa.
