The moment I stepped into the building at check-in, the stylish lobby raised my expectations. The Room we were shown was not only chic with a modern Japanese touch, but also spacious and relaxing. Some Accommodations look great but have cheap furniture; here, you could really feel the quality and attention to detail in the furnishings, which made it even more comfortable. The in-room bath was fed directly from the hot spring source, and the washing area was roomy—there was no need to use the large public bath. I ended up bathing four times in one night. Even details like the hair dryer and shampoo amenities showed thoughtful selection. The meals were excellent, especially dinner. They made great use of local ingredients; every dish was creative, original, and delicious. There aren’t many Accommodations that make me want to return, but this one truly did. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming.

This trip was mainly to visit Ise Grand Shrine, Toba, and Futamiura. I was especially looking forward to visiting Futami Okitama Shrine and seeing the Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks), so I searched for the Accommodation closest to the shrine and chose “Oishiya.” From the very beginning, I was impressed by the exceptionally courteous and pleasant service. From arriving by taxi through check-in, being shown to my Room, dining, and even the Shuttle Service to the station after check-out, everything was handled in such a welcoming way that it made for a truly wonderful trip. To the proprietress, manager, attendants, Shuttle Service driver, and everyone at Oishiya, thank you very much. Dinner was a charcoal-grilled seafood kaiseki course. Starting with appetizers and sashimi, the main dishes featured an abundant selection including abalone, squid, turban shell, other shellfish, and vegetables. Being able to enjoy abalone both grilled and as sashimi made it an especially luxurious meal. The meal was so plentiful that I’m sorry I ended up leaving one dish unfinished. I also appreciate the attendant’s thoughtful consideration regarding dessert. The view of Futami’s sea from the panoramic bath was exceptional—I enjoyed it many times: before dinner, after dinner, and early in the morning. The location of this Accommodation is also perfect for accessing Futami Okitama Shrine. After check-in, after dinner, at sunrise time, and after check-out, I was able to visit a total of four times—it meant so much to me. Every view was wonderful, but the scenery at sunrise was truly unforgettable. Staying at “Oishiya” made this an outstanding trip. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. After staying in Toi the previous night, we took it easy, but this day brought such heavy rain that a weather warning was issued. There was nowhere to stop along the way with our dog, so we arrived early. While we were waiting in the car, they kindly let us use the dog run on the first floor a little ahead of time, which truly helped us. All of the staff were very pleasant. This time we had our meal in the Room, and the Asian staff member who brought it to us spoke excellent Japanese and served us with a constant smile. There is also an open-air bath outside; the water was soft and the temperature was just right, so we went in several times. Unfortunately, because of the weather, the view was misty and hard to see—if it had been clear, I’m sure it would have been wonderful. That was our only disappointment, so we’d like to visit again when the weather is better.

With the weather being unpredictable, I didn’t want to go too far, but I still wanted to get away—so I chose Dormy Inn again for the first time in a while. I also stay at luxury hotels, but the large public bath with a sauna and cold plunge pool was simply the best. Staff regularly came into the bathing area to clean chairs and keep everything tidy. There were several types of shampoo and conditioner available, so you can choose what you like. The staff were kind and pleasant as well. Dormy Inn really is great—I’ve become a fan. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I originally made a Reservation at “Nene no Michi Bettei,” but due to a change in Room allocation, I ended up staying at Hotel VMG Kyoto Kamogawa. From check-in to check-out, I was deeply impressed by the staff’s impeccable attention to detail and thoughtful hospitality. Sleeping in the bedroom while gazing up at the coffered ceiling felt like an “exceptional escape from everyday life.” At the paid lounge, alcohol and other drinks are available free-flow, with snacks as well—it truly feels like a private lounge. Because the property preserves the character of a historic building, soundproofing is not perfect; however, it more than makes up for it with an elegant, nostalgic atmosphere. The Japanese-style room next to the bedroom overlooks a small courtyard garden and offers a wonderfully atmospheric view that made time feel as if it passed more slowly. That said, perhaps because the air conditioning does not reach this room easily, I found the heat noticeable. Although it would involve additional cost, lending spot coolers or simple heaters to guests upon request during limited seasons (summer/winter) could help make better use of this room and may also become a new experiential highlight—especially for international travelers. I’m truly grateful to all of the staff for giving me such an extraordinary stay. This is a Hotel I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an “indescribably exceptional escape from everyday life.”

The hospitality felt more like a luxury Ryokan than a temple lodging. Our Room was upgraded to a special suite, and we were able to relax in the spacious “Hojo” Room overlooking an expansive garden. The shojin-ryori cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious throughout. After dinner, we took a short walk (about 3 minutes) to Danjo Garan. With bonfires lit and the area illuminated, we caught a glimpse of Kobo Daishi’s mandala world through sights such as Konpon Daito, Saito Pagoda, and Kondo Hall. The next morning, we joined the morning service from 6:00 a.m., which felt truly solemn and moving. The Dharma talk by Archbishop Miyata explained Buddhism from a global perspective with humor, making it easy to understand. I strongly feel that Koyasan is best experienced with an overnight stay. I’ve stayed in many places, but this was the best. The Room was clean and well maintained, and the front desk staff were very polite and attentive. There are no meals provided, but they kindly recommended nearby restaurants. I definitely want to stay here again.

Upon arrival, your son—nearly three years old now—welcomed us with a cheerful “Welcome.” His slightly shy expression was so adorable that it instantly brought a smile to our faces. Having known him since he was a baby, seeing him again each year is one of the reasons we keep coming back. This time we stayed in the Room “Hagoromo.” From the spacious veranda, we could lie back at night and gaze up at a sky full of stars. Spending time there in the pleasant evening breeze, pleasantly tipsy after dinner and drinks, felt like pure luxury. The cuisine was a summer herbal course. The mousse-like sauce made with herbal broth had a distinctive depth of flavor—I couldn’t resist asking for a spoon and enjoyed every last drop. The tomato simmered in herbal broth and served chilled also had more of a Western touch than before, making it an elegant and refreshing dish. The happy-hour herbal-syrup frappe was perfect for cooling down after our walk; it felt truly reviving. The morning coffee also tasted exceptional, so I asked about it and learned they use rare peaberry beans. Because only one bean develops instead of the usual two, the flavor is said to be more concentrated—and I was told the owner carefully roasts them from green beans himself. I was deeply impressed to see the same sincere dedication found in their herbal cuisine reflected in their coffee as well. Once again during our meal, the proprietress spoke with us warmly by our side. I started writing Reviews after last year’s visit, and looking back, I realized that Accommodations I rated highly always shared one thing: heartfelt hospitality with true attention to detail. This Accommodation embodies that better than anywhere else—and I feel that even more strongly now.

We were highly satisfied with everything—the Room, the Onsen, the atmosphere throughout the building, the service, and the meals. Since there were three of us this time, we booked a quadruple Room. Usually the third person ends up on an extra bed, but here it was a proper spacious bed, so we could truly relax. The entire building is covered with tatami mats, so you can walk anywhere barefoot or in socks and feel relaxed as if you were at home. It was also fun being able to choose a colored yukata. In addition, several types of pillows were placed in the hallway on each floor along with pillowcases so guests could choose—this really felt like exceptional hospitality. The process of taking the slope car to reach the Accommodation was enjoyable as well, and everything about how we were guided was smooth—we really felt how good the service was. The meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, making them visually enjoyable too. We also had a dedicated staff member who carefully explained that no allergens were included and provided detailed guidance about each dish—their attentiveness was outstanding. It was truly a wonderful stay.

We stayed in early August and were truly impressed by how clean the private pool was. Private pools are often found in villa-style Rooms, where you may encounter insects, but this Room had a private pool on a high floor, so both adults and children could enjoy our stay without any insect issues. For dinner, we visited the izakaya and sushi restaurant within the resort, and both offered great Miyakojima cuisine. The menu was extensive, with classic Okinawan dishes such as rafute and a wide selection of drinks (especially awamori). We also appreciated the limited-time items like Keitt mango. When we stayed in August two years ago, the breakfast buffet was crowded and our family had to sit separately, but this time we were able to reserve seats in advance, which helped ease congestion. The food was delicious as well. This Room is highly recommended for families who prefer to avoid insects while relaxing at a private pool and fully enjoying Miyakojima’s local food.

Once again, from the Reservation stage onward, your courteous and kind service was outstanding. The Room, Onsen, and meals were all excellent, but above all, the staff’s hospitality is wonderful and makes me glad I come every time. In particular, the staff member who assists us in the private dining room is always exceptional. The male staff members on our previous visits were also excellent, and this time the female staff member was just as wonderful—her explanations were easy to understand, and her attentive service made it a pleasure to enjoy a delicious meal. We will definitely visit again, and we appreciate your continued support. Thank you very much again for this stay.

It was a two-night Multiple Night Stay, but unfortunately it was rainy and sightseeing wasn’t really possible, so we were able to relax in the Hotel lounge. The all-inclusive plan was great, and the food was delicious. Even with a Multiple Night Stay, there were plenty of daily changes, and although it was buffet-style, many dishes were prepared fresh on the spot, so we never got bored. In fact, it was almost disappointing that we couldn’t try everything. The only slight downside was that our Room was far from the baths.

This was our second stay, and we were satisfied with everything—the staff’s hospitality, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the meals. Traveling with my elderly mother in the heat, we were able to take it easy and enjoy a relaxing stay at the Hotel. The Onsen also offered a soothing atmosphere, and we had a wonderful time. We would love to return again.

This is our third year in a row staying here, and thanks to you we were able to relax again this time. The delicious sweets and tea served upon arrival, the beautiful greenery of the trees visible throughout the property, the clean and comfortable Room, the spacious open-air bath in the Room, the large public baths and private baths—each with its own unique atmosphere—and the meals that were a delight to look at and, of course, tasted wonderful—everything was outstanding. We are also grateful to all of your staff for their consistently pleasant hospitality. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Beppu for the first time in a year—and GAHAMA Terrace. Nothing to complain about; we had a very comfortable stay. I really do love this place. I also love the view from the maisonette—being at eye level with the sea is wonderful—but it might be better if the plants were trimmed a bit. I know they grow back quickly in summer, so it may be difficult, but from inside, having the ocean fill the entire window is simply perfect. We’ll visit again when it gets cooler. GAHAMA is amazing, and Beppu is amazing too.

I stayed here with a friend this March and was so impressed that I returned in July with my family (as a couple). The dining menu had changed to a summer menu, so we were able to enjoy it again with a fresh perspective. With only eight parties staying at a time, this is a hidden-gem Accommodation: the Rooms are spacious, yet limited to two adults per Room. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to relax and unwind in peace. On the other hand, you won’t find sweeping views of Sagami Bay like those from the balcony of a high-rise Hotel (you can see the sea and Oshima Island, but they feel distant), nor is there an expansive garden. There is also no Shuttle Service from the station, so I recommend it for guests who don’t mind that. It’s well suited for making memories as a couple or with your best friend, and for celebrating anniversaries or special occasions. The in-Room open-air bath is spacious, and after bathing you can relax on chairs on the balcony. The food is delicious and very generous in portion size—and the timing of each course being served is excellent. The bedding was comfortable and I slept soundly. Considering this level of quality and service, the Plan pricing is reasonable. I would definitely like to return again.

The room was clean, spacious, and well maintained, and we were very satisfied with the high-quality Onsen water. Dinner was so lavish that we couldn’t finish it all. The assorted sashimi platter was outstanding. Breakfast was a half-buffet style, so we could choose what we liked, and everything was delicious. Above all, it was an excellent value! This luxury Japanese-style Ryokan with views of Mt. Fuji offered exceptional service. The view from the Room was stunning, and the windows were polished to a shine, which showed true hospitality. Both the in-room bath and the large public bath were comfortable and deeply relaxing. The meals were also delicious. The attentive service made our children happy as well. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

On my first trip to Kusatsu Onsen, I stayed for two nights in the private open-air bath guest room “TAKASAGO.” Guest Room (TAKASAGO) The layout is wonderfully spacious, with the bedroom and tatami-style living area separated, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Personally, I felt the room was a little dim due to limited natural light depending on its orientation, and I would have loved a larger sofa where you can really sink in rather than a low table—but overall it was an expansive, truly luxurious space. The tatami room with the low table faces a private garden and had a lovely sense of traditional charm. The maisonette-type rooms looked brighter and seemed to have more comfortable sofas as well, so I’d like to try one next time. Onsen Two different hot spring sources—Jizo Gensen and Bandai Kosen Gensen—are supplied here, making for an indulgent bathing experience. In addition to enjoying high-quality spring water anytime in the in-room open-air bath, the three private reservable baths each had their own distinct character and conveyed refined Japanese aesthetics. I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in Onsen throughout my stay. In particular, I loved “AWASE,” where three tubs are lined up from low to high temperature so you can experience a traditional bathing method—I went back again and again. Breakfast As dinner service was suspended during my stay, breakfast was the only meal offered—but its quality was outstanding, easily on par with dinner. I often stay at cuisine-focused Ryokan, and this was among the best I’ve experienced: creative composition of dishes, cooking that brought out the best of each ingredient, and thoughtful selection of tableware that elevated every course. Hospitality & Service The staff’s attentiveness and perfectly balanced approach—present when needed but never intrusive—left a strong impression and made my stay very comfortable. While there are a couple of minor preferences regarding the guest room setup, overall I was extremely satisfied with every aspect: Onsen, food quality (breakfast), and hospitality. I would absolutely love to return when visiting Kusatsu again.

We stayed as a couple with our 0-year-old baby. From check-in, they took a photo of the three of us and provided toys for our child. At dinner, our child got sleepy, and when we asked for a floor cushion, they kindly brought one right away. During the koto performance, they even played children’s songs, and our daughter seemed to really enjoy it. Traveling with a child can be challenging from the very start when choosing an Accommodation, but everyone was truly kind to us. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.
