The open-air bath is spacious and the views are wonderful. The proprietress at the dining area and the staff offered warm, unpretentious hospitality and thoughtful care. Of course, a good Accommodation has great meals and Facility, but it reminded me again that it is ultimately made complete by the people. I was personally very happy that our futons were not put away during breakfast.

The Accommodation’s calm atmosphere, the cuisine, and the baths were all wonderful, but what impressed me most was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. Everyone we spoke with combined deep knowledge with warm, attentive service, making our stay truly comfortable. I initially wondered if this trip might be a bit luxurious for traveling with my three underage sons, but they seemed to experience what true quality means, and I am now wholeheartedly satisfied.

We stayed here with relatives. The service was excellent, and the meals were delicious. The portions are generous, so guests with smaller appetites may want to ask in advance. It is a wonderful Accommodation with thoughtful attention to detail.

We visited with great anticipation, having heard this Accommodation has a 150-year history. From the warm welcome at arrival, everyone greeted us with smiles, and our expectations immediately rose. We were escorted to our Room by a staff member, and the attentive service was remarkably detailed—something rare these days. The building has been beautifully renovated. Relaxing in the lounge surrounded by nature while looking out over the clear stream of the Hoki River was wonderful, and our conversations flowed easily. The facilities and our Room were spacious and spotless, and the gentle scent of incense was delightful. Every staff member we passed had a soothing smile. Dinner was carefully prepared, and the thoughtfully chosen tableware made it feel even more delicious. My mother and aunt—both very particular about food—praised it highly as well; we were truly impressed by the flavors of the ingredients themselves. The semi-open-air bath in our Room and the public baths felt silky soft on the skin, so we enjoyed them again and again. It seemed to promote perspiration; we warmed up from deep within, and all fatigue melted away. There were also table tennis, massages, and more available to enjoy—the service is thorough in every way. We also heard that for a Multiple Night Stay, different dishes are served each day. After dinner, we took a walk along the Hoki River and saw fireflies drifting through an enchanting scene—it felt magical. This became an unforgettable memory of this Accommodation. On the drive home we were already saying, “Let’s come back for a Multiple Night Stay in another season.” At a time when many places are simplifying their services, we are truly grateful to have found such a wonderful Accommodation with such attentive hospitality. We will recommend it to friends and acquaintances as well. Thank you very much.

The hospitality felt more like a luxury Ryokan than a temple lodging. Our Room was upgraded to a special suite, and we were able to relax in the spacious “Hojo” Room overlooking an expansive garden. The shojin-ryori cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious throughout. After dinner, we took a short walk (about 3 minutes) to Danjo Garan. With bonfires lit and the area illuminated, we caught a glimpse of Kobo Daishi’s mandala world through sights such as Konpon Daito, Saito Pagoda, and Kondo Hall. The next morning, we joined the morning service from 6:00 a.m., which felt truly solemn and moving. The Dharma talk by Archbishop Miyata explained Buddhism from a global perspective with humor, making it easy to understand. I strongly feel that Koyasan is best experienced with an overnight stay. I’ve stayed in many places, but this was the best. The Room was clean and well maintained, and the front desk staff were very polite and attentive. There are no meals provided, but they kindly recommended nearby restaurants. I definitely want to stay here again.

First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff. We stayed with three family members and one dog, and it became an unforgettable trip. The meals, the Onsen, the Room, and even the view from the Room were all so wonderful that we were truly moved. The dog run was also very clean and well maintained; the grass was surprisingly soft and fluffy, and our dog looked so happy running around. There were also plenty of cosplay items for dogs available, so we were able to take lots of adorable photos. Thoughtful attention could be felt throughout the building, and there was nothing we lacked during our stay. At the “Wanwan Cafe,” we were able to interact with other guests as well, which became a great memory. Above all, I was delighted that every staff member truly loves dogs and treated our dog in such a friendly way. This is a wonderful Accommodation that genuinely made us think, “We want to come back.” I can confidently recommend it to anyone considering traveling with their dog. Thank you very much.

My wife and I stayed for one night shortly before Tanabata. We visited after seeing it featured on NHK’s “Bi no Tsubo,” because we wanted to try the irori hearth cuisine. The entrance is located within the large parking area of Shirayama Hime Shrine, and the Accommodation sits in a quiet setting between the shrine’s approach paths. Our Room was a Japanese-style tatami room, and the garden view from the engawa veranda—looking past the irori—was full of charm and very relaxing. There is no toilet in the Room, but one is very close by, so it wasn’t an issue. It felt like staying in a spacious traditional home. Also, in a reading room near the bath called Waraku-an, we could sit on chairs on the veranda and gaze at the greenery along the shrine approach, losing track of time. Dinner was served in another Japanese-style room with an irori. The appetizers presented in a bamboo basket were decorated with bamboo leaves and hydrangeas, giving a cool summer feel. After that, we enjoyed delicious dishes centered around ayu (sweetfish) grilled by the young proprietor over the irori in our room. The ayu rice was excellent as well. Including breakfast, everything was truly delicious, and the portions were just right—we were very satisfied. Before long we noticed handwritten messages from the proprietress throughout our Room and around the Accommodation. They are humorous and warm, and when you speak with her you can really feel her heartfelt hospitality and unhurried sense of time. She even said that when bears once appeared at the shrine, they had simply come to pay their respects—bravo. All in all, Wadayasan at Mt. Hakusan was an outstanding Accommodation for its setting, food, and wonderful proprietress—and it’s an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

Check-in is done in front of your Room. (Check-out was done at the front desk of the former Hotel.) I had a Multiple Night Stay, and due to availability I had to change Room types, but the staff moved my luggage for me. The first day’s Room was spacious and new, with a pleasant woody scent, making it very comfortable. The second day’s Room (main building) was a bit smaller, and having the bath and toilet together felt slightly cramped, but I liked being able to see hibiscus from the bedside window. Both the new wing and the main building are simple yet tasteful buildings that blend well with the island scenery. I had breakfast in the dining hall of the former Hotel, which felt nostalgic and reminded me of the Showa era. This is an Accommodation I’d like to visit again.

Although we often visit Kyoto on day trips, we decided to stay overnight for a change and used this Hotel as a family. We checked in early and planned to sightsee around the Hotel, but it was so comfortable that we didn’t go out and instead relaxed in our Room. The building, made with locally sourced timber, had a wonderful atmosphere, and the Room Facility was new and very pleasant. All of the Hotel staff were extremely helpful. Personally, I found the welcome sweets especially delicious. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay again.

Unfortunately, we had a thunderstorm on the day of our stay, but we truly appreciated your nighttime safety check and your thoughtful gesture the next day. We were able to fully enjoy the pool and sauna. We were very satisfied! The Room was very clean, and our family enjoyed watching a movie on the projector. We want to come every year! I stayed here at the end of my trip to Hokkaido. The places I stayed before were wonderful as well, but this Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel was outstanding. Every dish at the buffet was delicious. I wanted to try more, but I got full and couldn’t eat everything, which I still regret a little. The kamameshi rice was especially good, and the meat was excellent too—in fact, everything I tried tasted great. When I went to the Onsen early in the morning (just after 5 a.m.), I saw staff baking bread. I had some at breakfast, and it was also very tasty. The moor Onsen had a gentle natural scent and a wonderfully silky feel on the skin; one night wasn’t enough. This time I couldn’t take my time sightseeing around Tokachi, so I would love to come back again next year. More than anything, what left me with such a great impression of the Hotel was an employee at the souvenir shop “Tamatebako.” The trainee wearing a training name badge had an amazing smile and provided excellent service. When I told them how pleasant they were, they responded with another lovely smile. Of course it comes down to personal qualities as well, but it also made me feel that the Hotel’s management philosophy must be excellent for staff like this to grow here. All of the other staff were wonderful too, and it reminded me that not only the Onsen and food but also people’s hospitality is what truly shapes a trip. Thank you for helping me make such great memories—I would like to stay again next year as well.

This was our fifth or sixth stay, and once again we had a very comfortable time. What made us especially happy was that the staff member in charge of our Room from our previous visit remembered us. They even remembered that we stayed with my mother-in-law last time, and we were truly touched by their thoughtfulness. As always, the meals were delicious, with seasonal dishes as well—everything met our expectations once again. The premium lounge was also excellent. We used it after the Onsen, and there was a wide variety of soft drinks, so even someone like me who doesn’t drink much alcohol could fully enjoy it. This is a wonderful Ryokan where you can feel warm hospitality no matter how many times you visit. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I’ve always loved Mt. Fuji and have wanted to stay at KUKUNA for a long time! Because of work, I often end up making a Reservation close to the stay date, and it’s usually fully booked (it’s so popular). This time, a spot opened up just a few days before, and we were able to stay! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji during daylight. Still, our Room with an open-air bath was clean, spacious, stylish, and incredibly relaxing—it completely melted away our everyday fatigue. The food was also excellent: creative cuisine and a buffet, along with attentive service. This trip was also to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. When we mentioned it, they kindly gifted us a wonderful dessert and photos, making it an unforgettable trip. The Onsen in the large public bath was very clean as well—we soaked at ease and felt truly refreshed. The sauna was great too. We’d love to stay again (if we can get a Reservation!).

This was our first time staying here. I stayed with my wife and our 0-year-old baby. Everything was simply wonderful. We were truly impressed by the thoughtful attention to detail and excellent service throughout. My wife and I agreed that when we come to Kirishima again, we would like to book a Multiple Night Stay here. Thank you very much.

I have stayed here several times, and everything was wonderful again this time. I accidentally left something behind when checking out, but the staff noticed it and it was a great help. Thank you for everything. This is the Accommodation I always recommend whenever friends ask for a place to stay. I will be back again.

We visited as three generations of our family. The children enjoyed the latter half of summer vacation with marshmallows by the campfire, badminton and fireworks in the garden, and the pool. It was also great for parents to have tasty water and coffee available self-service in the lobby. The buffet at this Accommodation was thoughtfully varied, so the children never got bored and were very satisfied. The tempura and roast beef at dinner, as well as fried bread and banana milk at breakfast, were all delicious. The staff were also very pleasant. This is an Accommodation we would like to visit again.

Although we were concerned about traveling during the Obon season and with unstable weather, we arrived safely with no issues on the roads. The welcome was attentive as always, and the familiar atmosphere made us feel at ease. The Room was clean, and the open-air bath was at a comfortable temperature, allowing us to relax. The meals featured many locally sourced ingredients, were perfectly portioned, and truly delicious. We had another wonderful stay and will visit again.

The bright, clean Room was in an Onsen town surrounded by soothing greenery, and we were able to relax and take our time. We stay at various Hotels, but our stay here was truly relaxing both physically and mentally. Time for healing is precious, and we felt it was thanks to the staff’s careful and attentive work. The bath was wonderful, and the meals were absolutely delicious. Thank you for a lovely time.

As always, I soak in the spacious public bath, head back to my Room, hit the sauna like I always do, take a cold shower, and then slip into the Onsen in my Room. It’s the classic routine I’ve repeated many times whenever I stay at Sennentei. At dinner, I take a big gulp from a frosty mug—absolutely irresistible. Both dinner and breakfast are delicious, with all kinds of local specialties to enjoy. Tottori is truly a great place to spend a holiday, and Sennentei is especially relaxing even by Tottori standards. In May, stocking up on Ohara tomatoes on the way home—and in late August, buying plenty of Nijisseiki pears—is another one of my usual traditions.
