The Okinawa Fair and the tuna carving show were amazing! This was our second visit during summer vacation, and it was so delicious that we’d love for you to hold it again next year. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable, and no matter how many times we visit in a year, we never get tired of it. The warm smiles and attentive hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff are so comforting and relaxing that every time we come, we find ourselves wanting to return again soon. We’ll be back before the end of the year—thank you very much.

I stayed here for the first time because they offered a Plan where the fish you catch at the fishing pond is served at dinner. I’ve stayed in Shirahama Onsen several times, but there aren’t many places that will cook your catch, so I really appreciated this Plan. Their coordination with the fishing pond was excellent—when we arrived, the application form was already prepared, and we could start fishing right away without bringing anything. They also packed our fish in a foam cooler with ice, and we checked in to the Hotel as-is. At dinner, two of the three fish we caught were prepared as sashimi and fried chicken-style, and we were able to take the remaining one home (thank you very much to the head chef). Our Room was No. 603 on the Royal Floor, with Shirarahama Beach right in front—an unbeatable location. The Room had a table with four chairs plus a sofa, and it was spacious and comfortable. My wife also said the washroom area was large, bright, and easy to use. For those going swimming in the sea, you can go straight from the Hotel out to Shirarahama Beach, so it seems ideal for families with children as well. The Onsen also had an open-air bath; it was spacious with great water quality, and we could relax while looking out over Shirarahama Beach (in the morning it switches to the first floor bathhouse, so there’s no view). Dinner was served in a private room and everything was delicious (if I had to say one thing, the sukiyaki beef wasn’t quite as good), and having our freshly caught fish on top of that made us more than satisfied. For breakfast we chose the buffet; there were plenty of options including Wakayama ramen, which was great. One example of their attentive service: when I almost forgot to pick up our fish to take home at checkout, someone at reception noticed and helped us bring it back safely. If I have another chance, I’d like to stay again with this fishing-pond Plan.

The front desk staff welcomed us with exceptional kindness. The Room was spacious and spotless, with a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Toya. In the private open-air bath, we could soak in the Onsen while fully enjoying the spectacular scenery of Lake Toya. The open-air bath in the large public bath on the top floor was at the perfect temperature—never too hot—so we could relax without having to step out repeatedly. Looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity bath, we felt completely refreshed in both body and mind; it was truly outstanding. The dining was also excellent. The dinner buffet featured an abundant selection of fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi, including scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp. There were also hot dishes such as grilled crab legs and steak—all you can eat. Breakfast offered a wide variety of seafood as well, including raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, and our whole family was thoroughly satisfied with the meals at “Kohan no Sumika.” I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Ryokan so far, but “Kohan no Sumika” is one of the few Hotels that I can say I absolutely want to return to. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, our family enjoyed an unforgettable and perfect stay. Thank you very much. 2. Business Courtesy Version (more formal and polite tone) This is a flawless Onsen Resort Hotel. I stayed at “Kohan no Sumika” on August 30. The front desk service was extremely courteous, and the Room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well maintained. From the guest Room we could enjoy sweeping views of Lake Toya, and in the private open-air bath we were able to savor both the Onsen experience and the beautiful scenery of Lake Toya to our heart’s content. The top-floor open-air bath had a wonderfully comfortable temperature that allowed for a long soak without overheating. Relaxing while looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity Onsen made for an exceptionally luxurious moment of calm. Dinner was highly satisfying: along with plentiful fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi—such as scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp—there were also all-you-can-eat options like grilled crab and steak. Breakfast likewise included seafood such as raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, leaving our entire family very pleased with its quality. Although I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Hotels to date, “Kohan no Sumika” is one of those rare outstanding Accommodations that I would very much like to visit again. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everyone’s warm hospitality; thanks to you all, our family enjoyed a truly perfect time together.

We stayed for one night on a family trip. We chose this Hotel as a base for sightseeing in Hiroshima City and Miyajima, and it was so comfortable that we found ourselves wishing we could spend more time relaxing at the Hotel. What we especially appreciated was the complimentary drink service. Being able to unwind with a drink after returning from sightseeing was truly relaxing and made our trip even more enjoyable. The Onsen was also clean and spacious, and it helped us fully recover from the day’s fatigue. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations—not only was there a great variety, but each dish was delicious, and our whole family was very satisfied. Starting the day feeling a bit indulgent is something we’ll remember. All of the staff were kind, warm, and attentive, which made our stay very pleasant. This is a Hotel we would highly recommend not only to those planning to visit Miyajima, but also to anyone who wants to enjoy some downtime at the Hotel as well. We would definitely like to stay here again when we visit Hiroshima next time. (I enjoyed my stay so much that I completely forgot to take photos!)

We stayed at Fugaku Gunjo as a couple during a summer holiday we were able to take at short notice. Away from the bustle of everyday life, we were able to spend unhurried time together in a quiet setting. Even though it was a short stay, it felt deeply fulfilling. Although we were blessed with clear weather on the day of our stay, the typical summer haze meant we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji clearly during the daytime. Then, around 6:00 the next morning, I happened to glance outside and there it was—Mt. Fuji standing out in crisp detail. Its powerful, beautiful summer presence—so different from its snow-capped 모습—left a lasting impression. Listening to cicadas, simply taking in the view and enjoying time doing nothing. Even moments when we would normally keep ourselves busy felt like a luxury here. It was an experience unique to Fugaku Gunjo, where only the sounds of nature blend into the stillness. The dining was also exceptional. The French kaiseki dinner showcased each ingredient with great care, and every course was a pleasure. Japanese and French elements came together naturally, creating refined dishes that remained enjoyable through to the end. Breakfast was equally memorable. The rice cooked in a traditional pot was truly delicious—we realized we had finished every last bite between us without even noticing. We also learned that some of their rice and vegetables are grown on their own farm, and we were impressed by how seriously this Accommodation values its ingredients from the very source. Not just presentation but attention to these details is what elevates the entire stay. What especially stayed with us this time was the hospitality of all staff members. From Shuttle Service to check-in and dining, everyone we met was friendly and welcoming with genuine smiles—and their sense of distance felt perfectly comfortable as well. Their warm hospitality never felt formal or scripted; it put us at ease again and again throughout our stay. Though it was only one night and two days, everything from arrival to departure felt consistently pleasant. Beyond the spectacular views, beautiful rooms, and wonderful food—from growing ingredients on their own farm to thoughtful attentiveness by staff—you can feel careful dedication throughout this Accommodation. Looking back on this trip, it feels less like “an Accommodation you stay at for sightseeing somewhere else,” and more like “a place you travel for in order to spend time here.” Next time, we’d love to visit in another season—and enjoy a trip where staying at Fugaku Gunjo itself is our main purpose once again as a couple.

Thank you for taking care of us on the final day of our 3-night, 4-day trip to Nikko. Away from the lively area around Toshogu Shrine, we were able to savor Nikko deeply and quietly. From arrival to departure, every member of the Accommodation spoke to us warmly with a smile, and we spent our time feeling truly relaxed. The amenities in the Room and the drink service were also thoughtfully prepared down to the smallest details, and we did not feel inconvenienced in any way. The meals and Onsen we had been looking forward to most were absolutely wonderful, making these two days a truly happy time. Nikko’s water is excellent, and the coffee brewed with it was especially delicious—I even bought some beans on my way home. I’d like to brew coffee once more with the water you kindly gave us and reminisce about our trip to Nikko. I am also grateful for your courteous phone call when I carelessly left something behind in the Room, and for sending it promptly. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I have no complaints about the Ryokan. I was surprised to be able to enjoy red snow crab even in summer. The in-Room dining service was also excellent. Just one point: the sweet shrimp at dinner was outstanding, but the Ryokan I stayed at the next day in Amanohashidate was better in terms of the sweetness of its miso (probably just by chance...). I would definitely like to visit in winter.

This was my first business trip to Aomori, and after reading Reviews, I chose to stay at Kaosenkaku. The view of Mutsu Bay from the Room was even more breathtaking than I imagined, and the sunset was truly soothing. At dinner, we enjoyed Nebuta Festival hand dances, folk songs, Tsugaru shamisen performances, and dancing—since we didn’t have time to go sightseeing, it made our stay feel like a full Aomori experience!! Next time, I’d love to visit again and take my time exploring as well. Thank you for a wonderful time.

From the warm hospitality to the excellent service from all the staff, we had a wonderful time. We also enjoyed unexpected activities such as the table tennis service, and the ocean view from our Room was beautiful—making it a truly memorable day. The meals offered a great variety, and we were able to fully enjoy many of Toyama’s local specialties. The evening course dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and we were extremely satisfied. One thing we hope will improve further is the overall cleanliness and odor inside the building. We stayed in a non-smoking Room, but noticed a slight smell of cigarette smoke on the floor. Since it is such a lovely Ryokan, improving this point would make the stay even more comfortable. Other than that, everything was truly wonderful—this is a Ryokan we would like to give five stars. It’s a place we would love to visit again with our family. We would be even happier if these points have been improved by our next visit.

We stayed here for the first time with our dog to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The welcome drink and dessert were very delicious! The welcome treat for dogs also seemed tasty—our pup finished it in no time! There’s also a drink bar available at certain times, which was great. They even have alcohol, which was the best!! The dog run was air-conditioned, so it was comfortable even in midsummer. Our dog ran around until completely tired out. Dinner is buffet-style, so it’s hard to decide what to eat (lol). The roast beef and sashimi served as a one-plate set at the table were amazing! Alcohol is available for an additional fee, but the food is so good you can’t help wanting a drink (lol). You can dine together with your dog, and there’s also a buffet just for dogs, so we really enjoyed the meal. Since it was our daughter’s birthday, we ordered a cake for an additional fee, and it was delicious as well! The staff celebrated with us too, and our daughter was thrilled! You can also use a private bath. We used it this time; we had 90 minutes, so we could relax without rushing. Dogs are allowed in the private bath too, which is wonderful! There were post-bath drinks and ice cream in the fridge—also fantastic! It’s well worth paying the extra fee! By the way, I also used the large public bath in the morning. The view was great, and it felt wonderful bathing while looking out over Lake Hamana! The breakfast sandwiches were filling and very tasty! They come with pudding too—again, amazing! One of the reasons this Hotel felt so good is definitely how pleasant all of the staff are!! Everyone we met was smiling; they talked to our dog and played with him too. Our pup got lots of love! If I had to mention something negative: although parts have been renovated, there were some areas where you could feel that the building itself is old and showing its age. But personally, there were far more positives than anything else. How easy it is to stay with your dog here, how great the staff service is, how delicious the food is, how relaxing the baths are—we went home satisfied as a whole family! I’m glad we chose this Hotel for our first overnight trip with our dog. We’d love to stay again!!

Just as the title says, this Accommodation was absolutely amazing in every way! Even before we arrived, they were waiting for us and kindly guided us to the parking area, then smoothly escorted us to the lobby. It was a bit of a walk from the main building to the annex, but from the moment we stepped in, the calm, crystal-clear atmosphere was so soothing. From the covered walkway you can see the sea through a pine grove, and even the lawn in the garden was beautifully maintained—everything felt spotless and impeccably clean. We checked in while enjoying a welcome drink in the lounge; all of the staff provided attentive service that never felt overbearing—just thoughtful and considerate. Dinner was served as a course meal, featuring exquisite dishes made with local Awaji ingredients and presented beautifully. The Western-style breakfast course was also outstanding. In particular, just as mentioned in other Reviews, the pot-au-feu was incredible. The lounge also had an excellent selection of high-quality alcohol, drinks, and food options, so we could truly relax at our own pace. Normally we would have needed to go out shopping for things, but this time everything we needed was available within the Accommodation—we were completely satisfied without leaving! The Room and amenities were perfectly prepared with nothing lacking, and having an open-air bath attached to our Room was fantastic! We would love to stay at Hamari-kyu again next time.

Although it wasn’t a Milky Day, the hot spring water was pleasantly cloudy, making for a wonderful bath. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The steak at dinner was especially high quality and excellent value for money. The vegetables were also very fresh—I ended up eating more than I intended. Thank you very much.

I have stayed at this Accommodation many times, and it was excellent. The meals, baths, views, and Room—everything was completely satisfying. The recent renovation that made it possible to enjoy the view while dining was a nice improvement, but it was a bit uncomfortable making eye contact with guests heading to the baths during the meal.

I love Manyo-no-Yu’s hydrogen-rich water bath because it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. Manyo-no-Yu also offers both Japanese and Western breakfast options, and during a Multiple Night Stay I enjoy choosing whichever I feel like each morning. I’d like to stay at more Manyo-no-Yu locations in the future.

It was a wonderfully attentive Accommodation. The food was delicious—above all, the rice was outstanding. The grilled fish was cooked perfectly, and the sashimi was fresh and very tasty. I was also very happy with the late-night rice ball and message. Breakfast had a great variety and was exciting as well. Personally, I especially appreciated having rice porridge. It was raining when we left, but thank you for carrying our luggage to the car. You also lent us an umbrella, so we were able to get to the car without getting wet. I forgot something behind, but I can only be grateful for your kind and careful assistance. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you for letting us relax and enjoy our time there.

This was my first stay here. The staff’s hospitality and attentiveness, the well-kept garden, the delicious meals, the atmosphere of the open-air bath, and even the adorable cats made it truly special. Everything was outstanding. I would love to visit again.

Because our Room was on the 2nd floor, we were disappointed that we couldn’t see the koi in the pond. My wife is pregnant, and it was difficult because it was a long walk to the elevator. Not only in the garden but also around the open-air bath in the large public bath, many decorative stones were placed throughout, which made it very relaxing. I thought it was very rare to have an outdoor cold plunge bath for the sauna. Next time, we’d like to stay at the Ryokan longer and relax in the open-air bath.

I stayed with my parents and husband—four adults in total. There was a complimentary alcohol service available until 10:00 p.m. (there was even beer in the Room refrigerator!), and the all-inclusive drinks with meals also offered a great selection of alcohol. We could even enjoy sparkling wine at breakfast—wonderful for my father and me, as we both love drinks. Every summer, we stay one night at an Accommodation in Fukushima to coincide with my mother’s visit home, and my father really loved this place, saying, “Let’s stay here again next time—let’s make it our regular.” From the bath to the lobby to the Room, every space had beautiful interiors and a wonderful sense of design. The staff were also warm yet polished in their hospitality. It was our first trip where I treated my parents to a stay, so it became a truly memorable experience for us. Thank you very much.

I had been wanting to stay here for a long time, and my wish finally came true. I was very satisfied with the Onsen and the breakfast and dinner served in semi-private dining areas. If I had to mention something, the parking lot was far away and there were only stairs, so getting around was a bit difficult. Above all, I truly admired the staff’s warm and courteous service.
