I chose a reasonably priced option, but it seems I was actually given a Room from a higher-priced plan, and I’m grateful for the staff’s thoughtfulness. I was very satisfied. However, the provided toilet paper was the thin type, which wasn’t great—I would have preferred double-ply. Still, I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

This Accommodation collected our shoes at the entrance. Since it was raining, my sneakers were wet, but when I put them on at checkout the next morning, they were warm and had been dried for me! I was truly impressed—this was the first time I’ve experienced such thoughtful care. Inside the building, the floors were beautifully polished, and the fresh flower arrangements were lovely. The Onsen, meals, and Room were all wonderful. When I visit Kusatsu again, I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much.

Conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Station, the view from the Room was great, with Dogo Onsen Honkan and Matsuyama Castle visible. The window glass had a pattern, so it would have been even better if it were completely clear. The Room was clean and comfortable, with a nice sense of cleanliness. The large public bath on the top floor was also very relaxing, and I especially recommend the open-air bath! We used the buffet for both breakfast and dinner, and there were many local dishes and unique items—everything was delicious. Dinner was a half-buffet, but we were very full, so I thought it would be nice to have a Plan with buffet only (it may already exist...). Also, I’d be happy if there were mandarin orange juice at breakfast! It was also great to have live piano music in the evening.

This Hotel is still the best in Sapporo. The Facility is old, but the location, the staff’s service, and breakfast while looking out over the park are all unforgettable. A morning walk through Nakajima Park after breakfast is wonderful. Sadly, it will be closing soon, but even after it becomes a Hilton, I hope it will carry on the Park Hotel spirit.

I stayed one night in the Main Building 8-tatami + 6-tatami Room. The charming covered corridor and the surrounding gardens were wonderful. I imagine it offers a different atmosphere with each season. Various hanging lanterns are lit along the corridor, making it even more atmospheric in the morning and evening. The lighting in the lobby, library, and Room was also enjoyable in its own way. Each of the three large public baths had a distinct character—the marble bath with stained glass, and the open-air bath with greenery all around. One downside is that, due to the Onsen minerals, the floors can be slippery. As this is an Onsen Ryokan, it was relaxing to spend time inside wearing yukata. All staff were kind and had lovely smiles. It was also fun to see that outfits differed depending on who assisted us—and sometimes even between morning and evening for the same person. Because of the building layout—Rooms connected like separate annexes via covered corridors—some areas inevitably feel almost outdoors. If you dislike insects or mosquitoes, you may want to take precautions. The meals were not overly elaborate, but seafood and other dishes were prepared deliciously, and I was satisfied with the carefully selected tableware as well. For the price, this Accommodation offers a truly luxurious escape from everyday life—I highly recommend it.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

We visited just before the summer holiday season, and since there were fewer guests, they kindly upgraded our Room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a Room with an open-air bath, so we could soak in the Onsen many times and felt truly refreshed. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The large garden was in hydrangea and rose season, so we enjoyed strolling through the beautiful grounds. It was an early summer vacation for us—thank you very much!

We chose Kawayu Onsen as a place to stay while traveling from Abashiri to Lake Akan, and it turned out to be absolutely the right choice. The location is especially great. Until we stayed here, I didn’t realize Mount Io was this close, but after checkout we arrived there in just a few minutes by car. Since Abashiri and Lake Akan are quite far apart, I highly recommend an itinerary that includes one night in Kawayu Onsen along the way. We were also very satisfied with the Onsen. When I used the open-air bath, there happened to be no one else there, so I could relax and enjoy it at my own pace. The atmosphere of the open-air bath with its large rocks was wonderful as well. What exceeded my expectations most this time was the dinner buffet. There was an amazing variety of dishes, and I especially enjoyed plenty of crab legs (lol). Starting with “Mount Io Steamed,” inspired by Mount Io, there were many distinctive Hokkaido-style dishes. The red-fleshed melon and milk soft-serve ice cream were also delicious and memorable. The food was replenished properly throughout, so overall we were extremely satisfied with the meal. That said, for us the dinner time slot felt a bit short. It looked like there were enough seats available, so we would have been even happier with a schedule that allowed more time to enjoy dinner at a relaxed pace. Even so—considering the quality, variety, and replenishment—I’d still give dinner full marks. On the other hand, we found the lounge a little disappointing. There was a wide selection of alcohol and many guests seemed to enjoy it, but since I don’t drink alcohol I didn’t have many opportunities to use it. When I stopped by at night, most of the snacks and light bites were already gone and hadn’t been refilled; it would be great if there were more sweets and light snacks available for non-drinkers too. The guest room was spacious; while parts of the building do feel somewhat dated, everything around the bed area was arranged in a practical way—and being able to charge devices right by the pillow was convenient. The Hotel itself is large as well, and shared spaces like the lobby feel open and airy. Outside the Hotel there are also small spots where you can take in an Onsen-town atmosphere on foot. This time we only took photos, but if you have extra time it could be nice for a stroll—though since majestic Mount Io is so close by, I definitely recommend visiting that too.

We originally planned to stay for one night, but because the weather at our next destination didn’t look promising, we decided on a last-minute Multiple Night Stay here. Before staying here, we had been at the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima, and compared with that, this felt more family-friendly and like a Hotel where families with children can truly enjoy their time. It’s a little away from the center of Dogo Onsen, but a retro-style complimentary Shuttle Service bus runs regularly, so the distance hardly bothered us. There is a footbath at the Hotel entrance that you can enjoy anytime. In the evening, there was also a festival-style event held beside the souvenir shop area, which delighted our child. The baths are divided between an indoor bath on the 3rd floor and an open-air bath on the 4th floor. Each has its own unique atmosphere, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy both. The food was delicious as well, and our whole family was very satisfied. The staff were courteous and attentive, so we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Although this Multiple Night Stay was decided at short notice, it turned out to be absolutely the right choice. When we visit Dogo Onsen as a family again, we would definitely like to stay here—without question. The Dogo Prince Hotel character “Yutama Prince” greeted us at check-in and saw us off at check-out by the entrance. We hope he keeps up the great work.

We stayed with our family during the Obon holidays. The meals featured presentations we had never experienced at any other Hotel, and the portions were just right—everything was absolutely delicious. Being able to watch the sunset from the lounge during dinner also became a wonderful memory. The lounge was very comfortable, not only for the view but also for its lovely interior that felt almost like a private space. However, family members who don’t drink alcohol wished there were a wider variety of cake-style sweets to go with coffee. Also, the duvet was too thick, so it would have been nice to have a summer option. We would definitely love to visit again.

Our family stayed for one night. The Accommodation was excellent, and all the staff were truly kind, so we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much. When we checked in, we received a 100th-anniversary booklet for a Ryokan at Tateshina Onsen (a sister property?). It sounded familiar, so after returning home I checked and found that we had actually stayed there when my son was still very young (nearly 20 years ago), because the tatami-mat bath felt safe for children. I’m sorry to say I had completely forgotten, but it felt like a wonderful connection. Next time, I would love to visit Tateshina Onsen as well along with this Accommodation.

The large public bath is available from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, so I was able to enjoy the Onsen many times at different hours. Both dinner and breakfast were nourishing and truly delicious. Ryokan meals can sometimes be heavily seasoned, but here nothing was surprisingly salty, and I enjoyed everything. In the guest lounge, there were treats like dadacha-mame ice cream and Onsen manju, plus DIY Onsen eggs—these little services were a lot of fun. I also appreciated that soft drinks were unlimited. The garden is lovely, and there are also amenities like spa treatments, table tennis, and a large shogi board, so there’s plenty to enjoy inside as well. I had a luxurious time soaking in the Onsen, enjoying great food, and relaxing at the Accommodation. I would definitely love to visit again.

The atmosphere of the main building was wonderful. Maintaining such a historic building must take a lot of effort, so I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well kept it was. This time we chose the newer wing where we could enjoy the Onsen in our Room, but next time I would love to stay in one of the lovely Rooms in the main building, such as Sanraku or Kumoi. Dinner and drinks were delicious, and being able to enjoy them in our Room made it feel truly luxurious. All of the staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, and we made great summer memories. We will definitely come again.

We chose this Accommodation because it had high ratings for its meals and service in Reviews. We were a little worried whether our growing children would be satisfied, but in the end we were extremely happy. The elaborate appetizers won over our whole family, and we were impressed by the careful craftsmanship that didn’t simply rely on the quality of the ingredients. We could feel the attentive care of the proprietress and all the staff throughout our stay, which made it very comfortable. It doesn’t have the kind of Facilities you’d find at a large Hotel, but when we visit Tottori again, I’m sure we’ll stay here again.

Everything—from the Facility and hospitality to the dining—exceeded our expectations, and it was a stay that our whole family genuinely enjoyed. Our child liked it so much they said, “I want to come again,” and we felt it is a Hotel that’s perfect for a family trip. This time we stayed for one night and two days because we were also staying at another Hotel, but considering the well-equipped Facility and services, I think a Multiple Night Stay would let you appreciate this Hotel’s appeal even more. Next time, we would definitely like to stay for multiple nights. [Club Lounge] The staff at check-in were extremely courteous, and we were able to enjoy sweets and drinks while completing the procedures. They also prepared coloring sets for each child in our party, which left a great impression as our child was able to spend the time without getting bored. [Guest Room: Ryukyu Suite / Beach View] The in-room refrigerator was a large model with completely separate fridge and freezer compartments, making it very convenient even for families. The toilet was modern and very clean, so it was comfortable to use. Having an in-room drum-type washer/dryer is especially helpful for longer stays or trips with children. Also, because there is a tatami room, children can relax safely lying down; we felt it’s a guest room where families can truly unwind together. Since it’s on the 3rd floor, the view isn’t quite “breathtaking,” but we had no particular complaints and stayed comfortably. [Dinner: Roy’s] There was an excellent variety of sushi options, and the desserts were plentiful as well—everything was delicious. We were satisfied enough that we definitely want to dine here again next time, and I can strongly recommend it to future guests. [Breakfast: Four Seasons] As part of the club floor benefits, we could make a Reservation at check-in, which helped us avoid crowds and enter smoothly. All dishes were delicious—especially the pancakes. With seating overlooking the ocean and a great atmosphere overall, it made for a wonderful morning. [Large Public Bath] We used it around 9:00 PM. It was crowded inside, but there was always an available washing station. Towels were provided as well, which made everything comfortable. [Facilities & Amenities] While not large, there is an indoor pool; plus activities such as rock-paper-scissors stamp rallies are held too, so children won’t get bored even on rainy days. We spent comfortably everywhere—including the outdoor pool area and the beach. [What Was Disappointing] The club floor benefit “Dolphin Splash” and the suite benefit “Wake-Up Sailing” were fully booked so we couldn’t participate. Although this seems unavoidable since the website states they are first-come-first-served programs as well، I hope improvements can be made so guests are less likely to miss out on these benefits altogether.

This was my third stay, and each time I leave thinking, “I’m glad I stayed here—I’ll come back.” It’s a Ryokan where the artwork in the lounge and the amenities in the guest rooms are all wonderful traditional tools that showcase Japanese craftsmanship, and I’m happy to discover different pieces each visit. I was a little worried after hearing the chef had changed, but it was completely unfounded—the flavors and menu were both excellent. Since we stayed the day after my birthday, they prepared a beautiful dessert plate for me. I was impressed by the skill of the young pastry chef. The wine pairing was also great. Breakfast was thoughtfully arranged as well, and I think I’ll always remember how delicious it was to grill Onomichi ingredients over a hibachi. Every member of staff is pleasant, and I truly appreciate how they stay close while keeping just the right distance. We’ll be back in winter—thank you in advance.

I visited Takayu Onsen for the first time in 20 years! It was my first stay at Kagetsu, and the baths were wonderful. I was traveling alone, but there were many solo travelers, and the dining area had single seating thoughtfully arranged, so I could enjoy my meal without worrying about others. The international staff were very kind and pleasant. It’s an Accommodation that made me want to come back again.

The Room was thoroughly cleaned down to the smallest details, and we were able to stay very comfortably. Since our Room faced the river, we could hear the kajika frogs calling at night and enjoy a wonderfully luxurious atmosphere. Also, whenever we passed staff members in the hallway and elsewhere, they greeted us thoughtfully, and I was impressed by how many of them showed such attentive hospitality. The meals exceeded our expectations in both flavor and variety, and every dish was delicious. The dining area also showed careful consideration in its seating arrangement, creating a refined, high-quality space for dining. As for the baths, we could enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen without leaving the property, with three different bath areas available—more than enough to fully relax and enjoy ourselves. At first I was surprised to hear that amenities are not placed in the Room but are picked up in the lobby to bring back with you; however, once we tried it, it felt flexible and actually more convenient. When we visit Arima Onsen again, my family agreed there won’t be any other choice.

I was truly impressed by the silky, rich quality of the Onsen water. It felt so pleasant that I wanted to keep touching my skin in the bath forever—it's rare to find water like this. After arriving, I crossed the bridge and went for a walk; the sound of cicadas was wonderful, and I ended up walking for about an hour. You can also go down to the river, which is another highly recommended spot. The meals were very generous, and I regret that I couldn’t finish everything. I’d be happy if there were an option for a smaller portion with a higher-quality course menu. The sweetfish and bonito were delicious as well. Thank you very much.

No matter how many times we visit, Osawa Onsen never disappoints. We were very satisfied again this time, including the attentive service from the staff. On the drive home, we were already planning when to come back next. Thank you very much.
