We stayed for two nights, and it was the perfect getaway. The detached guesthouse at the end of a lovely walking path was very comfortable and spacious, and we truly felt at ease. The Onsen had a wonderfully gentle feel, and we enjoyed it many times. The staff were also incredibly warm and welcoming. The meals were outstanding—beautifully balanced flavors, and every dish was deeply satisfying. It was a truly enjoyable stay, and we would love to return someday. Thank you very much.

I loved the Japanese-modern exterior and the chic, calming interior. The guest room had a high ceiling, and the alcove lantern added a wonderful Japanese ambiance—I could really feel the good taste in the design. I heard there are only about 10 rooms in total, so the Onsen was never crowded and I could soak at my leisure. Dinner featured a wide variety of dishes using summer vegetables, seasonal fish, and local ingredients; I was very satisfied with the gentle seasoning. The edamame potage is something I’d love to have again. Breakfast also offered plenty of options and more than enough food—above all, the rice was delicious. From welcome to farewell, I felt truly high-quality service in every interaction with the staff. It was a stay that reminded me how glad I am to choose a Ryokan again after such a long time. Highly recommended Accommodation!

Return Visit Stayed for two nights a few years ago and was amazed by how incredible the Moor Onsen was. They even had our past stay history on record, which really showed their professionalism. At the time, we were a bit bothered by some odors in the Room and Onsen, so we “cheated” for a while with a newer Accommodation nearby (laugh). This time, we made a Reservation for a newly renovated Room. Bottom line: it was excellent! I’m not really into saunas, but I enjoyed it because you can adjust the temperature in various ways and even listen to music. There were plenty of towels, and bathrobes were provided as well. The only downside was that the open-air bath was slightly too hot. The food was delicious, and the service was flawless. If they renovate more guest rooms, we will definitely stay again.

You can enjoy Hōekisen Onsen, with a 1,300-year history, as 100% free-flowing natural spring water with no added water. As it is a private bath, I was able to relax and soak at my own pace while enjoying the river view. The scenery of the Uregawa River was also wonderful. The Room will be irresistible for anyone who loves traditional old Japanese houses. The meals were Chinese herbal cuisine prepared by a Chinese chef; paired perfectly with herbal liquor and were truly delicious. The chicken breast soup, black-bone chicken soup, and soft-shelled turtle soup were all excellent. I could also use the baths at a nearby sister property; each had great views and was wonderful in its own way. I stayed for two nights, but there are many attractions nearby and I couldn’t see everything, so I’d like to visit again.

Upon arrival, your son—nearly three years old now—welcomed us with a cheerful “Welcome.” His slightly shy expression was so adorable that it instantly brought a smile to our faces. Having known him since he was a baby, seeing him again each year is one of the reasons we keep coming back. This time we stayed in the Room “Hagoromo.” From the spacious veranda, we could lie back at night and gaze up at a sky full of stars. Spending time there in the pleasant evening breeze, pleasantly tipsy after dinner and drinks, felt like pure luxury. The cuisine was a summer herbal course. The mousse-like sauce made with herbal broth had a distinctive depth of flavor—I couldn’t resist asking for a spoon and enjoyed every last drop. The tomato simmered in herbal broth and served chilled also had more of a Western touch than before, making it an elegant and refreshing dish. The happy-hour herbal-syrup frappe was perfect for cooling down after our walk; it felt truly reviving. The morning coffee also tasted exceptional, so I asked about it and learned they use rare peaberry beans. Because only one bean develops instead of the usual two, the flavor is said to be more concentrated—and I was told the owner carefully roasts them from green beans himself. I was deeply impressed to see the same sincere dedication found in their herbal cuisine reflected in their coffee as well. Once again during our meal, the proprietress spoke with us warmly by our side. I started writing Reviews after last year’s visit, and looking back, I realized that Accommodations I rated highly always shared one thing: heartfelt hospitality with true attention to detail. This Accommodation embodies that better than anywhere else—and I feel that even more strongly now.

We stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary trip. The meals were simply outstanding. Not only the food but also the tableware was beautiful, and my wife—who loves dishes—was so inspired that she bought lots of Kutani ware during our sightseeing in Kanazawa the next day. It was my wife’s first time in Kanazawa, and she seems to have fallen in love with the city. With only four Rooms, it was quiet, and the bath was excellent as well. We truly enjoyed a relaxing adults-only getaway. We would love to return again, not just for anniversaries.

The food was simply outstanding. There were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all. The bath is small, but there is also an open-air bath, and everything was clean; it warmed us up nicely. We enjoyed chatting with the proprietress and her daughter, and had a pleasant, comfortable stay. We’re glad we chose Minami Ryokan.

We stayed for two nights with three generations, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied—not only with the magnificent views from the lobby and our Room, but also with the wonderful hospitality and delicious meals. The staff’s attentive, warm service and smiles were especially memorable, and we felt a gentle, clear, pleasant atmosphere throughout the Hotel. Shizuoka has many sightseeing spots, including a history museum that children can enjoy and Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo (this zoo has many thoughtful touches and is truly recommended), so every generation can have a great time. After check-out, we also went to Shimizu Port to enjoy dining and shopping. We visited several attractions including Toshogu Shrine, but there was so much to see that next time we would like to stay at this Hotel again and take more time to fully enjoy both the places we visited this time as well. Check-in was busy, but they handled the procedure at a table in the lobby instead of at the counter, so it was smooth and I didn’t have to wait, which made me very happy. The post-bath relaxation area has tatami flooring and a wonderful view overlooking the castle. The black soybean tea and muscat juice there are delicious—it's my favorite soothing space. Breakfast is always prepared with care, with a wide variety of options, all very tasty. I also really appreciate the Shuttle Service to the station in the heat. This is an Accommodation that makes me want to come back again.

Over the past few years, this Accommodation has become a place our family wants to visit at least once a year, and both kids and adults are always completely satisfied. This summer vacation we weren’t planning a trip to the Izu area, so we thought a summer stay might not be possible—but when we learned about the summer vacation discount offer, we knew we had to go and made a last-minute Reservation. With prices rising everywhere, we truly appreciate this thoughtful gesture from the Facility. As always, every staff member—from arrival to departure—shows wonderful hospitality that makes for a genuinely relaxing stay. The Facility is also very clean. The summer vacation pop-up stalls were unexpectedly enjoyed more by the adults than the kids; it was fun seeing everyone feel like children again. It was disappointing that we couldn’t play tennis due to construction on the tennis courts, but there were so many enjoyable activities that we barely had enough time. We also love the surrounding satoyama countryside nature, so next time we’d like to stay in spring.

We stayed with our child, and the Accommodation had thoughtfully prepared many items such as barley tea for children, bibs, toys, and a dedicated diaper bin, which made our stay very comfortable. Everyone was kind and truly hospitable. We also received a letter from the dining staff, which made this trip especially heartwarming. We would love to stay again.

The Room ambiance, the meals, and the hospitality of the staff—everything was absolutely satisfying. In particular, the dinner tableware and presentation felt wonderfully special and made us feel truly pampered. We also booked an aroma massage, and we were very pleased with the therapist’s professional service (playing soothing music in our Room and carefully explaining each oil’s benefits).

The Onsen water has a silky, soothing quality and feels wonderful, but above all, the kids’ room was fantastic. Our 3-year-old grandchild loves it and had fun the entire time again on this visit. Seeing that happy smile is the best gift for us grandparents. This is our third stay this year, and we also have a Reservation for December 31 at year-end.

We happily received the amenities at check-in, and when we entered the Room, the vivid fresh greenery right in front of us was breathtaking. The greenery was reflected in the mirror above the sink, making it feel as if we were looking at a painting. In this lovely Room, welcome drinks, muffins, and strawberry milk kanten jelly were prepared for us, and we enjoyed them very much... At dinner, we enjoyed everything through dessert while listening to live piano music—and breakfast was delicious as well. The open-air bath was soothing as we felt close to nature. Thanks to the staff’s kind attentiveness, it was a truly relaxing stay for both my mother and me.

I thought it would be difficult to get there without a car, but there was a free Shuttle Service bus, so it was easy to reach by train as well. There was also a Shuttle Service to Sukayu Onsen, and I was very satisfied to be able to enjoy an Onsen with different water quality from the Hotel’s. The meals were all carefully prepared using local ingredients. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and everything was delicious. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain and wind on both days, we couldn’t use the Hakkoda Ropeway, but we were able to relax at the Hotel until it was time. We had a wonderfully relaxing summer vacation. I have stayed at many Hotels and Ryokan with ocean views, but this was one of the most memorable. The views from the Room and the open-air bath were outstanding—thanks to the Hotel’s hilltop location with nothing obstructing the scenery, as well as the serene beauty of the Seto Inland Sea itself. There are very few man-made structures nearby, and the landscape created by the scattered islands is truly stunning. In the distance, we could see bridges of the Shimanami Kaido and parts of Imabari’s townscape, while boats passing below from time to time added a lovely touch to the view. I felt this Hotel is well worth staying at even just to relax and take in this scenery. Because it was listed as “Casual” on IKYU, I initially imagined a standard Hotel that simply highlights its views. In reality, however, we experienced warm, unpretentious hospitality from all staff members. Dinner was not a typical set menu; it showed thoughtful creativity throughout and was delicious. Breakfast was buffet-style, and in particular, I still remember how wonderful the locally harvested blueberries were. This time we rented a car at Hiroshima Station: on our first night we stayed at a Ryokan on Etajima; on day two we toured Takehara before taking a ferry over and enjoying beautiful Setouchi island views from Mount Kamimine prior to check-in. The next day we visited Okunoshima to spend time with its rabbits, then headed home via Mihara to Hiroshima Airport. The Hotel was also extremely convenient as a base for sightseeing routes starting from Hiroshima City toward Kure, Takehara, and Mihara—and we were fully satisfied with every aspect: scenery, dining, and hospitality.

All staff were wonderful and attentive. Thank you for accommodating my husband’s dietary preferences. The food was delicious, and the beautiful tableware made it a feast for the eyes as well. The Room was lovely, and the bath was spacious, allowing us to relax and enjoy the Onsen at our leisure—we were impressed by everything. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a group of five with our daughter and son-in-law and our 5-month-old grandchild. It was our grandchild’s very first trip and their first Onsen experience. As it was a weekday, we were upgraded to the highest-grade Room, which made our stay extremely comfortable with no inconveniences at all. The attendant who looked after us seemed relatively new, but provided courteous service with care in every detail. The private open-air bath was wonderful, and we enjoyed delicious meals. The simmered golden eye snapper in particular had a gentle seasoning and was outstanding. It was also our first time trying the mixed breakfast dish, and it was very tasty. The location is close to Atami Ginza and Sun Beach, making it perfect for strolling around and enjoying local food. Thanks to you, it was a truly satisfying trip in every way. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay, and we stayed with my elderly mother. We thoroughly enjoyed the conger eel dinner and the Japanese breakfast. We were also able to relax comfortably in the barrier-free private open-air bath. Thank you to all the Hotel staff for your courteous service.

I visited again. Even in the summer heat, many people were sightseeing in Onomichi. This time, I rode the ropeway for the first time—it climbs all at once and was truly thrilling. At a museum along the way to the Hotel, there was an exhibition about cats that felt very soothing. At the café, I enjoyed sweets with their recommended pairing. Dinner featured a variety of ingredients that went perfectly with wine. Breakfast was so delicious that I had a second serving of rice. I also enjoyed the letter room for the first time. I used to study calligraphy, so once I started writing different things with a brush pen, time flew by. It was also fun to see other guests’ creations. Spending summer in Onomichi while sharing everyone’s memories was wonderful too.
