Before arriving, we got a little lost, but friendly locals kindly spoke to us. Even before check-in, we felt the warmth of the people and it made us smile. At the entrance, the cool sound of wind chimes welcomed us. We were impressed by how beautifully maintained this historic building is—many original elements remain, yet everything is kept in excellent condition. Thanks to the staff’s thoughtful explanations about the origin of the transom designs, hidden features within the building, and local history, we enjoyed our tour far more deeply than we could have on our own. The garden in the Omi-associated “Donketsu-ryu” style was unlike anything we had seen before. With many tall trees, we could enjoy a beautiful layered view not only from the first floor but also from our Room on the second floor. There was also a pond shaped like Lake Biwa and a tea-room-like space—an outstanding setting that made us want to relax outdoors in other seasons as well. We were also very satisfied with our meal at “Kokarokkon,” which came highly recommended by the Facility. Not only was every dish exceptional, but we were moved by everything—from the displayed art and attentive care from the staff to their explanations of each course and enjoyable conversation. This was a wonderful Accommodation filled with history, gardens, great food, and warm hospitality. We would love to visit again during a season when it’s comfortable enough to spend more time outside.

I had the privilege of spending New Year's for the first time at Kinjohro, one of Kanazawa's most renowned ryokan. With my mother being from Kanazawa and having spent six years studying in this city myself, it had always been a dream to welcome the New Year at Kinjohro. However, I hesitated for a long time, feeling that such a prestigious and traditional ryokan might be beyond my reach. This year, I finally had the opportunity to visit Kanazawa with my son and fulfill this long-held dream. The elegant architecture, refined furnishings harmonizing sophistication and grace, exquisite Kutani ware and Kaga Yuzen kimonos—everything exuded timeless beauty. The traditional Kaga cuisine featuring local specialties like yellowtail fish, crab, duck dishes such as kamo-jibu stew prepared with care using authentic ingredients—and even the osechi New Year’s feast—were simply exceptional. The room and bath filled with the soothing scent of cypress wood added to an unforgettable experience. Above all else was the heartfelt hospitality provided by staff who embody over 130 years of tradition in this historic city of Kanazawa. It felt as though we were transported back in time to experience the grandeur of Kaga Hyakumangoku culture. On New Year's morning after enjoying osechi cuisine, we joined other guests along with the owner, proprietress (okami), head chef, staff members and their families for a mochi-pounding event at the entrance. The friendly atmosphere shared among everyone under glimpses of blue sky through clouds made it truly special—the taste of kinako-coated mochi will remain etched in our memories alongside our stay at Kinjohro. A perfect blend of traditional Japanese Ryokan charm and modern simplicity! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the meals were delicious. I would love to visit again.

We stayed for one night as a large group to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The moment we entered, we were greeted by an incredible ocean view and perfect weather—an absolutely stunning location! The accommodation featured a spacious living room, two bedrooms, a Japanese-style room, sauna, gym & karaoke room, pool, and rooftop. The furniture and decor were stylishly chosen, everything was spotless and well-maintained. The gym facilities were excellent, the karaoke room was spacious, and the pool was clean and so much fun! From the water dispenser to adorable tableware and amenities—everything was perfectly prepared! Even men's swimwear in the bathroom—it was such a thoughtful touch! Before our stay, they kindly provided information about nearby supermarkets and recommended shops. At checkout time, the staff personally came to greet us—they were truly wonderful. It turned out to be an amazing trip with absolutely no complaints at all. Thank you so much! Next time we hope to enjoy a multiple night stay!

I’ve stayed here several times. The property has both a jacuzzi and a sauna, which is perfect for us bath lovers—plenty of chances to work up a sweat. At the same time, there’s cold beer waiting in the fridge, ready to quench your thirst. The BBQ spread is also generous: beef, pork, sausages, shellfish, shrimp, vegetables—everything disappears quickly along with the beer. In early summer on Awaji Island there are lots of fresh vegetables like onions and sweet potatoes, so we were able to enjoy plenty of freshly grilled produce. We left Awaji Island the next day wishing we could live like this every day—and it’s also a big plus that it’s close enough to get home in just an hour.

I ordered the seafood BBQ for dinner and was amazed by the large spiny lobster. Since it’s Oarai, I also wished to try clams. Breakfast was delicious as well. It would have been even better if the fridge had not only water but also a few soft drinks or beers. The pool and private spa (with sauna) were very relaxing. With the beach right in front, I enjoyed going to the sea too. It would be nice if sandals were available for rent. Thank you very much!

This was my second stay, and the Hotel staff's service was truly excellent, making my stay very pleasant. They are very friendly to dogs, and basic amenities are well provided. (I made the reservation for my dog by phone.) It is also conveniently located near Tokyo Station.

We stayed as a family of four, including a couple and two children. The staff were very courteous and made our stay extremely enjoyable. We appreciated them preparing fishing bait for us and cooking the fish we caught. Each dish was incredibly delicious, though dinner portions seemed slightly small for the men in our group. Next time, we would love to stay for two nights during the pool season.

This is the only accommodation located in Kanau, famous for its connection to the "Taiheiki." The accommodation accepts only 1-2 groups per day. The building was originally a residence of a local noble family and served as a temporary palace for the Southern Court, which resisted the Northern Court. It has been renovated into a hotel and restaurant, offering guests a unique opportunity to experience history by staying in what was once an imperial residence. While the facilities and meals may not match those of luxury hotels, the owner, who comes from a long-standing noble family that has protected this area for generations, can share fascinating stories about medieval history upon request. Adjacent to the accommodation is a museum, and nearby on higher ground lies the tomb of Kitabatake Chikafusa. However, there are no other major tourist attractions in this area. This accommodation serves as a base for those wishing to explore Kanau's serene countryside. Please note that transportation is very limited; while there are buses from JR Gojo Station, they run only a few times per day. We recommend checking bus schedules carefully before planning your visit.

After sightseeing in Kamikochi, we drove and enjoyed a relaxing Onsen as a couple. The open-air bath in the special Room was located in a spacious garden, allowing us to spend time at ease. The Room was also large with beautiful decor, providing a comfortable stay. We would love to visit again.

As soon as we stepped inside, we were amazed by the gorgeous interior and how much closer the ocean was than we had imagined. The ocean view was truly breathtaking—an experience you don’t often get. The welcome drinks at check-in came in many varieties, which made it feel special and was perfect hospitality on a hot day. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared at the time we requested, so we could relax. For dinner, the BBQ included local meats, seafood, vegetables, and more, with explanations provided for each item. It was our first time using this type of grill, but the staff kindly showed us how to use it, so even beginners could grill everything deliciously with confidence. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and we were very satisfied with dinner. We usually have to prepare everything ourselves for a BBQ (including cleanup), so it was great that the Hotel took care of everything. After dinner, we enjoyed coffee while watching the sunset. Three types of coffee beans and an electric grinder were provided, along with instructions on how to use the grinder and recommended grind sizes—so we could enjoy freshly brewed coffee and spend a truly special time. There was a jacuzzi on the terrace bath area, and our kids were thrilled since it was their first time. The amenities for children included cute dolphin toothbrushes and sponges, which they loved. For adults, there were ReFa shower heads as well as a hair dryer, hair iron/curling iron tools? , hair oil? etc., leaving our hair smoother than usual—we were delighted. The croissants and roast beef at breakfast were also delicious. We would definitely like to stay again.

It was my first time staying at this accommodation, and the moment I entered the room, I was amazed by its luxury, cleanliness, and comfort. It felt like staying at a luxurious ryokan, and my friend and I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow!" True to its name, the VIP room was exceptional. The staff at the reception were very polite, and we enjoyed a relaxing dinner in the room. The bath was also spacious and comfortable. The morning tour of Danjo Garan was accompanied by clear and detailed explanations, allowing us to learn more about Mount Koya and making it an enjoyable and meaningful experience. I was able to spend a relaxing time with my high school friend after a long time and fully enjoy Mount Koya, making it a truly happy time.

It was a wonderful Facility and made for the best trip! Thank you so much!

The scenery was especially beautiful, and we were very satisfied to be able to watch the sunrise rising from the horizon.

We stayed here because my child wants to pursue a career in planning for the future, and this place is amazing. There’s a terrace that seems made just for gazing at the night sky; at night we watched the stars, the moon, and drifting clouds together for hours.

The Hotel’s interior and Rooms are luxurious and refined, yet the staff were friendly and approachable without feeling overly formal. The meals offered a Japanese-Western fusion, carefully prepared and pleasantly tasty. The spa features a carbonated bath and a mist sauna, and it also includes tickets to Manyo no Hana in the neighboring Facility (I didn’t go to Manyo), so there’s plenty to enjoy. The only slight disappointment was that the Room toilet was inside the bathroom. Otherwise, it was a great Hotel overall.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful assistance from the time we requested a change from no meals to meals included with our Reservation. It truly felt like an old castle in the forest, and the Room had a wonderful atmosphere. Above all, the baths—especially the open-air bath—had silky-smooth water, and I wanted to soak in it every day. The restaurant staff were also very attentive, and as expected of Niigata, the food was absolutely delicious.

We were able to relax and enjoy a quiet stay. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. Unlike a typical Hotel, you may not be able to expect much in terms of service, but that sense of distance is actually comfortable.

Everything was excellent, including the surrounding environment. The staff and the proprietress were all impeccable in their hospitality. Thank you very much. We will visit again in November to see the autumn leaves.

The view from the Room was wonderful. We had a clear view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. The view from the main building’s Onsen was also great. All the staff welcomed us with warm smiles and provided pleasant service. We would love to stay again.
