Located about an hour from Shinjuku and easy to reach, yet once you step inside, a beautiful, nature-filled garden unfolds and makes you forget everyday life in an instant. The Room was also wonderful—said to be a favorite of Hayao Miyazaki—with thoughtful details throughout, from the view from the round in-room bath to the uniquely textured corridors, creating a truly charming atmosphere. From arrival to departure, the staff’s warm hospitality and attentive care made our family feel completely at ease, allowing us to spend a very comfortable and happy time.

This was my second stay, following my visit in July. Perhaps because of that, the owner seemed more relaxed than last time, and I felt we were able to connect a little more. In my previous Review, I wrote things like how it didn’t feel like the cats were the type you could constantly pet, and that one of them seemed unhappy when we took photos. I got the impression the owner may have been a bit concerned about those comments. However, what I really meant was that this Accommodation is worth visiting not for the cats, but for the food—so if it came across as a negative Review, I truly apologize. This time, Candy looked very pleased when I petted her around her neck and chin, and Mew repeatedly showed off catching food in her mouth. I felt we became friendlier than last time. Cats are naturally moody—and just like people, there are times when they’re not in the mood. Since taste is subjective, it might be clearer for first-time guests if you highlight “cute cats” rather than focusing too much on the cuisine. Personally though, I think of this place as: amazing food first, plus the bonus of meeting adorable cats—so honestly, I would come even if there were no cats. This time I added breakfast as well. The homemade dressing was delicious; the miso soup had a rich dashi flavor; and overall—including dinner—you can really feel how much care goes into every dish. Dinner included some items from last time as well as some changes, so even repeat guests can enjoy it. I travel almost every month throughout The whole country and overseas (40 countries), so I can’t visit very often—but whenever I’m heading to the Izu area again, I’d love to return. Please keep running this Accommodation for as long as your energy and motivation allow.

The moment I stepped into the inn, a wonderful fragrance greeted me and I felt excited right away. With large windows and plenty of greenery, it’s a lovely space. The room was very clean, and because there are no partitions, it felt even more spacious than expected. I have many dietary restrictions and there are items I can’t eat in kaiseki cuisine, but they were very accommodating, so I was able to enjoy everything deliciously until the end. I also enjoyed the hot springs many times, which helped melt away my daily fatigue. Thank you very much.

I had been looking forward to my stay at Manpei Hotel, but after arriving I became unwell and developed a fever over 38°C. Even so, the staff were incredibly kind—lending me a thermometer and promptly bringing an ice pack and ice. They also kindly changed all of my meals to room service, allowing me to rest and eat comfortably in my room. Although my long-awaited stay turned out differently than expected, I truly appreciated the thoughtful care and warm hospitality, especially while I wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, I ended up spending most of the time in the room this visit, but my husband was very pleased and said the in-room hot spring bath was wonderful. While I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the hotel in perfect health, the kindness of the staff is what stayed with me most. Next time, I would love to return when I’m feeling well and take my time enjoying this historic hotel and its dining. Thank you very much for everything.

This was my long-awaited trip to Huis Ten Bosch. I considered staying at one of the official Hotels inside the park, but chose this Hotel for its extensive Facilities, the large number of positive Reviews, and the reassurance of the Okura brand. Even before arriving at the main entrance by car, I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the building’s exterior. The stunning stepped atrium from the 1st to 3rd floors also set an exciting tone for a truly luxurious stay. The female bell staff member was exceptionally polite and kind, saying, “We’ll take your luggage up via a separate elevator, so please go ahead to your Room.” When I entered, there was an adorable teddy bear on the table by the window. The message card read, “Happy Birthday,” and since it was my birthday month, it was such a delightful surprise! She also wished me a happy birthday in person, which really moved me. From my Room we could see not only Huis Ten Bosch but also views out to open water—an amazing panorama. It was during the Obon holiday period so there must have been many guests staying, yet thanks to how spacious the Hotel is overall, it never felt crowded. Above all else, every staff member’s attentive service stood out. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and usually find something to complain about somewhere—but this time there wasn’t a single issue, and I enjoyed every moment in complete comfort. While this is clearly a Hotel designed with visits to Huis Ten Bosch in mind, once you cross the bridge there’s also a JR station (remarkably close to the waterfront), so on day two we took the train and went as far as Sasebo. It’s also very useful as a base for sightseeing in Nagasaki City or Sasebo. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety with plenty of both Japanese and Western options—I ended up eating far too much. This was my first time visiting Nagasaki and Huis Ten Bosch, and it became an unforgettable trip full of wonderful memories. Next time I’d love to stay longer—this truly is an outstanding Hotel. We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

We stayed here during my 7th month of pregnancy for a maternity trip. It was our first time staying in Gora, and while choosing among the many Accommodations, we decided based on the availability of an in-room open-air bath, Reviews of the food, and the high level of service—and it was absolutely the right choice. Every dish was delicious, and from check-in to check-out we had a truly comfortable experience. It was our last trip as a couple before welcoming our baby, and it became a very memorable journey. My husband also said that although he has stayed at many Accommodations before, this one left a particularly strong impression and he was very satisfied. We would definitely like to stay again.

I stayed for one night and two days. Rooms & Amenities → The in-room open-air bath was clean and very relaxing. Hospitality & Service → I was warmly welcomed from check-in, and the staff responded pleasantly whenever I needed anything, which made me very happy. Onsen Baths → The large public bath was spacious, and the outdoor open-air bath area was also clean. I also appreciated the service of having drinks and towels available in front of the sauna room. Dining → I only had breakfast, but it was delicious.

My husband grew up in a ranch in Hokkaido, while I was raised in the city. Drawn to this thatched-roof Accommodation, we stayed here for the first time. From the view at the entrance, we were amazed by the extraordinary, nostalgic buildings and the rice fields spreading out in front of them! We both fell completely in love with it. The Onsen is also wonderful—the free-flowing natural spring water is slightly lukewarm, perfect for a long soak. It leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. What’s especially impressive about this Accommodation is the many furnishings and antiques placed throughout, delighting the eyes everywhere you look! It feels like visiting an art museum. Truly amazing! My husband can be quite particular, but he absolutely loved it and says he definitely wants to come again in autumn. Getting to the annex using the cart and monorail was also fun and brought back childhood memories. Thank you so much for such a wonderful place.

After leaving the Ryokan, I boarded the Shuttle Service bus to the station without realizing I had forgotten my smartphone. Later, a member of the Shuttle Service staff kindly made a round trip by car to deliver it to Shin-Aomori Station. I feel truly sorry and deeply grateful. Their thoughtful care meant so much to me and left me with a warm feeling until the very end. I would love to stay here again.

I decided to write a Review for the first time in almost a year. Everything was flawless, and it was an extremely comfortable stay. The handrails for the open-air bath in the Room were thoughtfully placed with careful attention to movement flow, so even with my mobility issues I was able to bathe safely without feeling anxious. In addition, the handrails were made of wood rather than cold metal, and I truly appreciated the consideration shown throughout for guests. Thank you very much for such a blissful time.

I sincerely apologize for my late thank-you. This was our second stay. The front desk location had changed since last time, so I was a little confused at first. After we arrived, you upgraded us from Room KOURAI 202 to Room NOMATSU 403, which was an unexpected and wonderful offer, and we were truly delighted. As it’s the most popular among the staff, it was very spacious, with a beautiful view of the garden from both the bath and the Room—an exceptionally comfortable and calming place to spend time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and since there was only one other group besides us, we were able to dine in a relaxed atmosphere as well. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Japanese sweets shops—it was great fun. We were deeply moved by how beautifully you filled in our travel memory book too. Done—we will definitely be back again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

I found this Facility on IKYU and liked it so much that I made a Reservation. Just as expected, I thoroughly enjoyed the Facility, the meals, and the Onsen (ceramic bath). During a conversation with the staff at dinner, we talked about Hachimantai’s Dragon Eye. They told me they had gone there after borrowing rental boots and that it was wonderful. So I went the next day right away. Like Zao Okama last year, I was moved by the breathtaking scenery. It was a truly great stay—enjoying both the magnificent nature and the delicious meals at the Facility. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Everything about the Accommodation—the Room, the meals, and the staff—was excellent and very satisfying. In particular, I was soothed by the soft, gentle waters of Sujiyu Onsen. The bath in the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and take my time.

The Onsen with a view of Mt. Yufu from the Suo guest room is amazing, and we stay here every year. They welcome large dogs, and the service, meals, Onsen, and dog run are all excellent—this is an Accommodation where you can truly enjoy an escape from everyday life. We’ve stayed at most pet-friendly Accommodations in Oita, and this one is the best! One request: It would be perfect if we could sleep together with our pet.

I stayed for one night on March 29. I chose March because it was just before the spiny lobster fishing ban. This time I booked a luxurious spa Plan, so it was pricey, but it was absolutely worth the cost. The cuisine, spa, Onsen, Room Facilities, and service were all top-tier. As expected from HIRAMATSU, every dish was delicious. The dish made with the spiny lobster head felt a bit heavy for me, but everything else was perfect. The spiny lobster bisque at breakfast was outstanding. The bread and butter at both dinner and breakfast were also excellent. The spa was wonderful—comparable to the Mandarin Hotel’s spa. The Onsen and Room Facilities were also superb; there is nothing to complain about. Service from the manager, head chef, staff, and spa team was flawless. I’d like to return next year during abalone season. I recommend avoiding weekends at the end of March. That’s when F1 Japanese Grand Prix qualifying and the race are held at Suzuka, so Nagoya Station gets extremely crowded and nearby roads are heavily congested. On top of that, Ise Jingu Naiku Shrine was also packed due to a yokozuna dedication sumo event—but I consider it a good experience overall.

I stayed here to relax and unwind on my own. From the exterior alone it was exactly my style, and the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the wonderful scent of wood—perfect. Although it’s surrounded by nature, there are shops nearby, so I felt safe and comfortable even traveling solo. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The bath and the meals were excellent. The dinner felt a bit too much, but they kindly arranged the leftover meat into the next morning’s breakfast. The staff who took care of us were very kind, and we were able to enjoy our stay with peace of mind. This is an Accommodation I would love to stay at again.

This was my first stay at Fufu Kawaguchiko, and it was my fifth Fufu property overall. The food was exceptionally delicious. The large public bath and sauna were also wonderfully relaxing. Since there is a garden, I thought it would be even better if there were an open-air bath as well. At other Fufu properties, the lounge offered complimentary drinks, so I was disappointed that this one did not.

The Ryokan offers excellent hospitality, a clean and beautiful interior, and courteous service, resulting in a very high level of overall satisfaction as a Ryokan. In addition, as a dog lover, I was deeply impressed by how they accommodated us when traveling with our dog and how they treat dogs with great care and respect rather than “just as dogs.” The Facilities and meals were excellent as expected, and the Onsen was also outstanding; it was our dog’s first Onsen experience, but we were extremely satisfied throughout. It even felt like our dog’s paw pads became softer and their coat improved, so the Onsen benefits seem truly wonderful.
