Arriving drenched in sweat, I was able to take a breather right away in the lounge with the complimentary shaved ice service. It felt like the best kind of hospitality. The Room felt smaller than I expected, but everything was pleasantly well kept and I had a comfortable stay. Joining the morning walk was also worthwhile—I learned things for the first time thanks to the guide’s explanations, making it a meaningful experience. All of the staff were friendly and courteous. With Kofuku-ji Temple, Nara Park, and the station all nearby, it’s an ideal location for sightseeing, so I’d definitely like to stay here again when I visit Nara.

We had the pleasure of staying at Yumoto Yukomaso, a member of the Japan Association for Protecting Secluded Hot Springs. The location, Onsen, and meals were all in perfect harmony at a consistently high level, allowing us to fully enjoy everything this Accommodation has to offer. What left the strongest impression was the Onsen overlooking lush spring greenery in a wonderfully rustic setting. Soaking in the water while surrounded by birdsong and the crystal-clear air of Mt. Asahidake was truly exceptional. The cuisine was also outstanding, showcasing the chef’s dedication—deeply flavorful dashi that brought out the best in each ingredient, and beautifully presented dishes plated with great care that conveyed genuine craftsmanship. Our Room was Superior Twin Room 401. We were soothed by birdsong and a refreshing breeze through the window, and thanks to their carefully selected spring water and comfortable mattress—together with the benefits of the Onsen—we felt deeply restored both body and mind. Our walk around Mt. Asahidake is also an unforgettable memory. This has become one of our favorite Accommodations, and we will definitely return.

Although it’s a secluded Accommodation deep in the mountains, it’s relatively easy to access by car and not difficult to reach. The Accommodation features classic, traditional Japanese architecture, yet it feels clean and has been thoughtfully renovated for comfort and ease of use. It was clear how much care goes into its upkeep, which I truly admire. The surrounding nature is lush, and the greenery and gentle sound of the river are very soothing. That said, the bedding mattress felt a bit firm for me personally, which was a small minus point (I didn’t wake up sore the next morning, so this is purely my personal impression). The hot spring source is around 37°C and lukewarm, but there are also heated baths, so it wasn’t an issue. If I had one wish: since I’m not fond of lukewarm water, I would have liked the heated tub to be larger. Meals were mainly simple countryside dishes, but everything was very delicious. Younger guests might find it a little light; in that case, I recommend ordering additional dishes. For us it was just the right amount—and we could get refills of rice—so we were very satisfied. Many of the staff were young, but they were always smiling and pleasant, with excellent attentiveness and consideration. This is an outstanding Accommodation that makes Japanese guests feel at ease—I hope it never changes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

As a rare Onsen Accommodation that uses 100% free-flowing natural spring water with no added water or heating, it immediately caught my interest as an Onsen lover, so I decided to stay here. The Onsen was a little hot, but the water was very clear and felt wonderful. The Key Bath and Standing Bath were fascinating along with their history, and the private riverside bath offered a relaxing soak while looking out over the Yoshii River stream—truly a pleasant Onsen experience. The building has a great atmosphere and feels calm and comfortable. The staff were also kind, courteous, and welcoming. I had a genuinely enjoyable stay, but considering the price, there were a few disappointing points. For an Accommodation in this class, I expected complimentary drinks (free flow), but that wasn’t the case—even items in the refrigerator were charged. There is tea in the Room, but no coffee, and there is no coffee service in the lobby either. After dinner there was wine, alcohol, and coffee service at a house across the street where we could relax for a while, but snacks to go with drinks still cost extra. Since this is such a lovely place overall, I only wished these kinds of services were offered just a little more generously.

I booked Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, where you can enjoy the sea of clouds, to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The first surprise was that I had requested a birthday message plate at “Il Teatro,” the Italian restaurant we reserved for dinner, and the Hotel coordinated everything wonderfully—at check-in, they presented my wife with a handwritten birthday message card from the staff. Honestly, I was truly moved by their hospitality. As an IKYU Diamond member, we received a Room upgrade, and they also suggested switching to a suite (for an additional fee). The upgraded garden-view Room was spacious with a beautiful view—we were completely satisfied. The sea of clouds was incredibly magical; it looked different each time depending on the hour, and we never got tired of it no matter how many times we watched. Service at “Il Teatro” during dinner was also excellent, and we had an unforgettable birthday dinner at a window-side table overlooking the garden. The food was delicious, and the recommended Chardonnay was outstanding—exactly my kind of white wine. After that, we went to the bar for cocktails and returned to our Room, but we were having such a great time talking that we ended up missing the final grand sea of clouds show of the night. My wife and I agreed to make Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo our annual birthday tradition, promising each other: “Next year, let’s dine in one of the private rooms used for Hanzawa Naoki filming—and this time we’ll definitely watch the grand nighttime sea of clouds from our Room.” It became a wonderful memory for us. This is a historic Accommodation, yet the staff are full of energy, and operations from check-in to check-out are efficient with no wasted time. The seasonal cuisine is truly delicious, and getting to the various baths is an adventure—through maze-like corridors and, in some areas, even across a suspension bridge. It’s packed with excitement! You can have a wonderful stay just at Kikuya alone, making it an Accommodation you’ll want to visit again and again. Both check-in and check-out are well designed and smooth, so there’s no waiting—excellent! Thank you very much for taking such great care of us again.

My spouse and I stayed here as a couple, and our detached Room came with an open-air bath and a footbath. The Room was very clean and made for a truly relaxing stay. We had our meals in a private dining room in a separate building, and even though there were many guests, we hardly ran into anyone. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the taste and portions were just right—we really enjoyed it! Above all, the morning mist in Yufuin was absolutely breathtaking. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again if we have the chance.

We stayed in a Japanese-modern Room with an open-air bath. The Room had a calming design, and the open-air bath was truly the best. Hearing the sound of the river flowing was so relaxing, it was a bath we wanted to enjoy again and again. The irori cuisine felt quite filling for our elderly parents, but it was very delicious, and we enjoyed it with excitement. And Kiyoshi Yamashita’s mural is breathtaking. You’ll be deeply moved by its warmth, which instantly conveys how much he loved this place. Even after checkout, all the staff saw us off with smiles and waves, making our stay warm and welcoming until the very end. We would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and it was excellent—the amenities were well stocked and the Room was clean and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious and delicious. The service was also very polite and attentive. This is a Ryokan we would definitely recommend.

I was able to relax deeply in the Japanese-style Room. The indoor bath and open-air bath in the Room were wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the staff were very pleasant—overall, it was a highly satisfying stay.

A one-night trip with three friends. On the day of our stay, they picked us up at the station regardless of our arrival time, and after checkout they stored our luggage and later drove us back to the station after sightseeing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, we were able to relax in the Onsen, and the Room was spacious—making it a truly wonderful trip. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. As a truly secluded Onsen, the drive to get there was challenging, but it was a wonderful Accommodation well worth the effort. Surrounded by abundant nature, even the wait for the cable car was enjoyable as we took in the gorge views and watched small birds. We also used the private bath first thing in the morning and were able to fully enjoy the Onsen while embraced by quiet nature—it was truly an exceptional moment. All of your staff are wonderfully international, and rather than striving for perfection, each person’s sincere, heartfelt work came through, which made us feel very warm inside. At dinner, you kindly changed our table to a window seat, and we enjoyed delicious dishes along with the beautiful scenery. My European husband was also very satisfied. Next time, we would love to return during the autumn foliage or snowy season. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

Unfortunately, it was raining due to a typhoon and the Yoshino River was swollen and muddy, but thanks to the wonderful hospitality at Kazuraya, it became a great memory. Every dinner dish was delicious, and the difference in flavors compared with the Kanto region felt refreshingly new. Dinner portions were quite generous, so I couldn’t finish breakfast—such a shame… The Room was spacious and very clean; it almost felt like a waste for just one night. There’s only a mirror in the wash area, so it was a bit dark and inconvenient for doing makeup. A small handheld makeup mirror or an extra simple mirror would be helpful. There are many stairs and it isn’t barrier-free, so I’d like to visit again while I’m still fit. Overall, I think this is a very comfortable Ryokan!

This was our first trip with our Pacific parrotlet. After researching online, we found this Hotel recommended as a must-visit spot, so we decided to stay here. As this stay also celebrated our wedding anniversary, we arranged a cake, and we were pleasantly surprised when the Hotel provided sparkling wine. Thank you very much for your thoughtful hospitality. It became a truly memorable trip.

I stayed at Ne no Hana at Otoiroka no Toki once a long time ago, and because all Rooms are separate villas with spacious, relaxing interiors, I chose to stay again after a round of golf. I was very satisfied with the thoughtful service from the staff. The meals were also excellent, and it was great that additional dishes could be ordered separately. Above all, the head chef personally came to greet us and brought homemade pickles—I enjoyed them so much that I asked for seconds three times. The way the natural flavors of the ingredients were highlighted while still being refined deserves high praise. This Accommodation is highly recommended for anyone who wants to spend quiet, private time. At check-out we were seen off, and it was my first time ever to be personally seen off by the head chef as well. His smile was wonderful and made me want to come back again without hesitation. Since I’m a big foodie, I tend to rate an Accommodation based on its meals; from the very first dish I felt confident it would be great—and in fact I returned to my Room completely full and satisfied. I hope to stop by again around early autumn. Thank you very much for everything.

Following last year’s lunch visit, we stayed overnight this time. We chose the Plan that includes the Moss Forest guided tour. The moss observation tour offered not only explanations about moss, but also insights into the history of Shirakoma Pond and environmental conservation, which was very informative. The cape gooseberry cheesecake served at tea time after the tour was also delicious. It’s a great-value, enjoyable tour that I highly recommend. Of course, breakfast and dinner during our stay were plentiful as well. Everything was truly delicious. The new building was nothing like the image of an old mountain lodge—it was very comfortable. The bath in particular soothed our hiking fatigue, and we really appreciated it. Next time, we’d like to visit in a different season.

It was a trip with our dog and my daughters. We were able to bring our dog with us even when we went out to eat, and we had a very relaxing time. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious. However, the dinner portions were quite large—by the time the steak was served, I was already full. Since I want to enjoy everything until the end, I felt slightly smaller portions would be nice. Both our dog and we had a wonderful time, so we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

We originally planned to stay near Nikko Station, but we made a Reservation after seeing the great Reviews. The Facility is certainly old, but there is also a private bath, so we were able to relax. Above all, the food was absolutely delicious! Dinner was French cuisine with both fish and meat, and breakfast was a generous spread including fluffy omelets and juicy sausages. My family who traveled with me was very satisfied as well. Thank you very much.

We stayed at this Accommodation during our family trip to Hiroshima and Shimane over the Obon holidays. The Room had a wonderful Showa-retro atmosphere—nostalgic, calming, and very charming. Everything was thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to relax in great comfort. The bath was under renovation during our stay, but the staff kindly provided a Shuttle Service to a nearby Facility, so we were able to use it without any inconvenience. We truly appreciated their thoughtfulness. Above all, the meals were outstanding! Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion size, and the Jinseki beef was absolutely superb. The fluffy rolled omelet at breakfast was also delicious—our whole family couldn’t stop saying how good it was. We were also told that there are salamanders in front of the Accommodation, so we went to take a look. One even came close as if it had come out to meet us, which delighted our entire family. It became one of our favorite memories from the trip. Thanks to the lovely Room, delicious food, and the warm hospitality of all the staff, we had a wonderful time together as a family. We would love to stay again when we travel to the Hiroshima area. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay.

Once again, our whole family had a wonderful two-day stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally kind and attentive as always, and we truly appreciate it. A variety of food and drinks are also available in the lobby, which our children look forward to every time. This time as well, they were especially excited for the brown sugar buns and warabi mochi, and they were delighted. We were also very satisfied with the pool, including the slide. Both dinner and breakfast were very luxurious and made for a great time together. Thank you as always. We will definitely stay again.
