We truly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, savoring delicious dishes made with local ingredients. The in-room bath was a luxurious free-flowing Onsen, available anytime for a relaxing soak. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and our whole family was very satisfied with choosing this Accommodation.

From the moment we stepped through the noren curtain, it felt special and exciting. The staff were cheerful and friendly, which was wonderful. The Room made me want to live there rather than just stay overnight. We enjoyed a delicious meal while watching the surroundings gradually grow darker. As an extra order, we had foie gras added on top of the meat, and it was excellent. Since it was an all-inclusive Plan, we fully enjoyed some great cocktails. It’s also close to Dazaifu, so we were very satisfied. I’ve already been recommending it to friends.

Our family of three stayed for 3 nights. Above all, the location—right in front of the ocean—was incredible. It’s set along the coastline that continues from Toguchi Beach, and it’s about a 5-minute walk to Toguchi Beach. It’s also less than a 10-minute drive from Irabu Ohashi Bridge, making it a convenient base for sightseeing. The daytime sea was beautiful, and the starry sky at night was just as amazing. On a morning after rain, we were even treated to the stunning sight of a huge rainbow over the ocean. The time we spent looking out at the sea and rainbow beyond the pool is especially unforgettable. In front of the villa there is also an area that feels like a small private beach. This time we gave up going into the sea due to an approaching tropical depression, but you can borrow pool items, sand-play toys, and life jackets as well. We were told that around typhoons, waves can wash away some of the sand and reduce the beach area. The pool is also just the right size for families to enjoy together. And what we especially loved was the BBQ. We bought our own ingredients and enjoyed lighting charcoal for the first time in a while. Having drinks while BBQing with the ocean right in front of us was unbeatable. The kitchen is stocked with most cooking utensils and basic seasonings, so self-catering is easy. There’s also a water dispenser, complimentary drinks in the refrigerator, plus a washer-dryer and detergent—very convenient for a Multiple Night Stay. Trash can be separated and left by the entrance in the morning for collection. We also appreciated being able to sleep comfortably on proper beds rather than an extra bed even with three people. There are four beds in total, so we were able to recover well from travel fatigue. The staff were very kind as well. This isn’t suited to those looking for full service like a luxury Hotel with staff on-site 24 hours a day, but during staffed hours they responded quickly whenever we needed something. On our last day they even came outside to see us off despite strong winds and heavy rain—we’re very grateful. Since it’s summer there are naturally some insects around, but insect spray and repellents are provided; we recommend setting them up soon after arrival. Geckos are part of island life too (in good humor). Perhaps because priority is given to views, there isn’t much eave overhang; during heavy rain we noticed some noise from raindrops hitting windows. That said, this means truly spectacular views from inside—the window soundproofing is excellent and normally you can barely hear waves indoors at all. If anything could be improved, having mats at both entrances (the front door and terrace) to brush off sand would be even more convenient. This is a villa where you can stay “as if living,” at your own pace. Our whole family was completely satisfied—it was an amazing 3-night/4-day stay!

This is a well-established, reliable Hotel in Amami. There is an Onsen on the top floor, and soaking in the open-air bath while taking in a panoramic view of Naze Port washes away your fatigue. From your Room, the ocean is right in front of you. The sea below has coral reefs, and tropical fish—even Nemo and friends—swim by. The staff are kind and always make you feel comfortable, so it feels like coming home. Whenever I visit Amami, I spend one night here and have dinner at Yani. Resting while looking out over Amami’s sea from your Room feels wonderful, and in the morning you can relax over breakfast with views of the garden and ocean—this is a Hotel that leaves you feeling refreshed.

This was our first trip as a couple, and we made a Reservation to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Since we’re not very experienced travelers, we were nervous at first, but the Ryokan staff were so kind and friendly that our worries quickly disappeared. I’m not usually comfortable with open-air baths, but I worked up the courage to try—and it was truly relaxing and soothing. The changing area was clean and easy to use as well. And the meals we had been looking forward to exceeded all expectations—I was genuinely satisfied from the bottom of my heart! Everything was delicious. There was venison tataki, which I wasn’t sure about at first, but it had no strong taste at all and was truly wonderful. Our attendant explained each dish carefully, which helped us appreciate the ingredients even more—thank you so much. What made us even happier was that they took photos for our anniversary and gave them to us as a gift when we left. The handwritten letter from the proprietress also deeply moved me. This is the first time my heart has felt this full—just like my stomach! We are filled with gratitude for everyone’s thoughtfulness, kindness, and warm support. We will definitely come back again! Thank you very much for everything.

This villa resort was a place I had always wanted to stay at, and this summer my wish finally came true.\nAs soon as we parked, the staff greeted us by name before we even introduced ourselves.\nWe completed check-in while enjoying a welcome drink and fruit, then headed to our Room.\nSeeing the view in person—one I had only seen in photos—was truly moving.\nBoth the BBQ dinner and breakfast were excellent.\nSince this trip also celebrated my partner’s new job, I emailed to request a surprise dessert plate, and I’m very grateful for their thoughtful assistance.\nI’m so glad we stayed here—it became a once-in-a-lifetime memory.\nI hope to return again someday if I have the chance.

Spotlessly clean and excellent value for money. With the Plan including parking, I was able to check in with peace of mind. There’s nothing that can be done about it, but everything was perfect except for the squat-style toilet. Sorry—I’m not comfortable with squat toilets. In particular, the young woman at reception was very pleasant and incredibly soothing. I had a great check-in and check-out experience. Thank you so much!!

We stayed for one night on a trip to Nagano. The location was so deep in the mountains that at first we wondered if there really was an Accommodation out there, but we were relieved to arrive safely. In addition to the indoor bath, there was also an outdoor hot spring (a “wild” bath), and we used both—they were wonderfully relaxing. The Facility itself seemed old, but it was kept very clean. The meals were just the right amount, and everything was delicious. Since I’m pregnant and avoiding raw fish, the staff kindly offered to switch it—suggesting fried chicken—which was very helpful. Next time, I’d love to try the char sashimi raw. My husband also said it was the first time he’d stayed at an Accommodation where every dish was this good, so we’d like to visit again in a different season and enjoy more of the料理.

I made a Reservation because I wanted to stay at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo again after a long time, and it happened to be my birthday month. Although I hadn’t mentioned anything, the restaurant where I booked lunch added a “Happy Birthday” message on the plate, and at check-out I received a birthday card. The card even included messages from the staff. I felt that this kind of thoughtful attention is exactly what makes Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo so comfortable. Relaxing in a Room with a great view, strolling through the garden to enjoy the sea-of-clouds display, and ending the night with a quiet drink at the bar—this is the perfect Hotel when you want to recharge. I would love to visit again.

The building is showing its age, but it is carefully cleaned, and the furniture and furnishings are well maintained. The ikebana arrangements are beautifully displayed and are said to be rearranged each time by the staff. The chef is from Nemuro and sources fresh seafood from there. The vegetables and meat are locally sourced from within Hokkaido. Every time, both the presentation and the flavor are excellent, and we enjoy our meal with genuine admiration. We plan to visit again next year to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

This was our second stay with children. Last time, we stayed after visiting Disney. Located inside Kasai Rinkai Park, it’s perfect for letting kids play. This Plan included breakfast, and the food was excellent—no surprise given it’s part of the Okura group. Dinner wasn’t included in the Plan, but we used the restaurant and it was delicious as well. The large public bath was clean and spacious. There aren’t many Hotels in Tokyo with such a large bath, so it was very relaxing. The staff were very kind and helpful, especially to our child. They also stored our luggage on both check-in and check-out days, and we could rest in the lobby and reorganize our bags, which was a big help while spending time in the park with our child. Thank you very much.

Because it’s close to Zao, this was my first stay at this Accommodation. To put it mildly, it’s one of the best Accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. It’s fairly large, so the interiors and lobby are well appointed, but above all it’s quiet and comfortable. The large public bath with an open-air bath is excellent as well, and the teppanyaki cuisine was outstanding. There was nothing to complain about. The service struck just the right balance of attentiveness and distance, and everything was impeccably clean—I truly enjoyed my stay.

I visited on the 17th and 18th of last week for a refresh vacation. When I arrived, there were so many people along the Narai-juku street that it was difficult to make my way in. The garden outside my Room was spacious and could be enjoyed from the floor-to-ceiling window, creating a calm atmosphere where time seemed to slow down. I was able to spend some quiet, relaxing moments. Both the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! I was also very satisfied with the dinner pairing—the selections matched perfectly. Personally, one dish featuring locally grown vegetables and the gin and tonic served as part of the pairing were especially memorable! The staff at BYAKU Narai were easy to talk to, and I really enjoyed our conversations—it became a wonderful memory. This time I missed out on trying the whisky, so next time I’d like to make sure I don’t forget. I also forgot to buy a bottle for home (haha).

I sincerely apologize for my late thank-you. This was our second stay. The front desk location had changed since last time, so I was a little confused at first. After we arrived, you upgraded us from Room KOURAI 202 to Room NOMATSU 403, which was an unexpected and wonderful offer, and we were truly delighted. As it’s the most popular among the staff, it was very spacious, with a beautiful view of the garden from both the bath and the Room—an exceptionally comfortable and calming place to spend time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and since there was only one other group besides us, we were able to dine in a relaxed atmosphere as well. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Japanese sweets shops—it was great fun. We were deeply moved by how beautifully you filled in our travel memory book too. Done—we will definitely be back again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

Obuse, the town of Hokusai and chestnuts, is known for its beautiful streetscape that feels almost like a theme park. We arrived a little early by car, so we visited Gansho-in Temple and Jokoji Temple before heading to Masuichi Kyakuden. The ceiling painting at Gansho-in—Katsushika Hokusai’s “Phoenix Glancing in All Directions”—was truly breathtaking. As soon as we pulled up in front of Masuichi Kyakuden, a staff member came right out and efficiently carried our luggage inside. The highly sought-after “Chestnut Dessert Suzaku,” which is notoriously difficult to secure, will be offered from 9/10 this year. Because guests staying at Masuichi Kyakuden receive priority guaranteed access, it becomes even harder to make an Accommodation Reservation for stays from 9/10 onward. Since our stay was before then, making a Reservation was easy. Stepping inside Masuichi Kyakuden, you’re immediately enveloped by the stately atmosphere of the kura storehouse building. Our Room was on the second floor; we chose the Relax Twin style. Despite being in a kura-style structure, it also has a terrace, with plenty of natural light and an open feel. There are also more traditional, calmer kura-style Rooms available; however, we were told they are designed with high ceilings to avoid any sense of confinement. Designed by architect John Morford, the Room is fully Western-style with extensive use of stainless steel—its glass-and-stainless bath is well worth seeing. Amenities are L’Occitane; the refrigerator includes complimentary drinks; plus coffee and tea—everything you’d expect from a high-end Ryokan-style stay is provided, making the Room very comfortable. For dinner, we walked about three minutes to Obusedo Honten (part of the same Masuichi group). Every dish showcased the head chef’s experience and refined sensibility. The soup course, simmered dishes, and grilled items had a Kyoto kaiseki influence—above all else, the dashi was exceptional. The sashimi was fresh and perfectly seasoned as well. Local ingredients were used throughout for very high satisfaction overall. One note: the first items served—lightly dressed Kurakake beans and Matsumae-zuke—are not part of the course menu itself (just so you know). They’re clearly intended as snacks with alcohol—especially sake brewed by Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery within the same group—and both paired beautifully with their sake: firm Kurakake beans soaked in elegant dashi alongside Matsumae-zuke packed with rich seafood umami made each sip even better than before. In autumn Obuse becomes all about chestnuts; while we couldn’t try “Chestnut Dessert Suzaku,” we did get to enjoy “Mont Blanc Suzaku,” a Western-inspired take on Suzaku. It’s available at their affiliated shop “Entotsu.” We nearly gave up due to long lines but learned that overnight guests can make Reservations—so we were able to enjoy it without waiting. If you stay at Masuichi Kyakuden, be sure to indulge in one of their “Suzaku”-style chestnut sweets if you can. Overall it was an outstanding stay—we thoroughly enjoyed Obuse from start to finish.

This was my first trip to Oku-Nikko, and I stayed here for the first time. I was satisfied with everything—Accommodation, meals, the free-flowing hot spring bath, and the surroundings. The carefully prepared meals were very delicious, and the portions were just right. With only a few Rooms, the property felt calm and quiet, making it perfect for spending relaxing time with my family. I would love to stay again on my next visit to Oku-Nikko.

I had a memorial service in Inazawa City, Aichi Prefecture, and I usually book a Hotel in Nagoya, but this time I decided to look in Gifu and found this place. A (new) Hotel located inside a park. The front desk area and the Room were clean and functional. There’s no bathtub in the Room—only a shower—but there’s a public bath nearby, and guests can use it for 500 yen with the accommodation discount, so it didn’t bother me at all. Drink prices at the shop are reasonable too. There were no negative points at all, but if I had to mention one thing, it might have been nice to have a chair in the guest room (maybe I should have requested one). I was traveling with someone (this time my son in his 20s), and we ended up sitting side by side on the sofa, but the space between the sofa and the bed was narrow and a bit awkward to use—that’s about it. Recommended for young couples or families with children, including for its location.

All staff greeted us cheerfully, the guidance was courteous, and they even helped direct cars in the parking lot. The Accommodation was spotless and offered outstanding hospitality. Above all, the open-air bath was spacious, clean, and wonderful—it really helped us unwind. It was a shame we couldn’t go out onto the terrace due to bad weather, but we’d love to visit again on a sunny day. Thank you very much!!

I have no complaints about the Ryokan. I was surprised to be able to enjoy red snow crab even in summer. The in-Room dining service was also excellent. Just one point: the sweet shrimp at dinner was outstanding, but the Ryokan I stayed at the next day in Amanohashidate was better in terms of the sweetness of its miso (probably just by chance...). I would definitely like to visit in winter.

Thank you for upgrading our Room. The moment we stepped inside, we were completely captivated by the quietly glowing hearth and the calming scent of incense. It felt like stepping away from everyday life—exactly what we had been looking for—and our excitement instantly soared. The Room had been renovated while preserving its old-world charm, which made us feel relaxed and at ease. The meals were delightful, with a focus on warmth, aroma, and storytelling. The world really is evolving! The minimal service that gently gave us space was also refined and wonderful. Thank you for such a relaxing stay.
