Last year’s stay left such a lasting impression that I made a Reservation six months in advance this year for a Multiple Night Stay (two nights). Time passes quietly here. Greenery outside the window, birdsong, and thoughtful, understated hospitality. Not flashy—just being here makes you feel your mind and body unwind. This is the kind of time that makes you think, “I want to come back.” Once again this year, I was moved by the same unchanging comfort.

Using aromatic vegetables, fish, and meat from the Kyoto area, each ingredient is prepared and served with the utmost care to preserve its natural fragrance, flavor, and texture in the best possible way. The chef’s evolving craft was truly impressive. I was also moved by the sommelier’s sincere dedication to wine. The cuisine feels perfectly suited to this one-of-a-kind Meiji-era mansion dining experience in Japan.

Due to a change of plans, I made a Reservation the day before. It was a rainy day and I arrived early, but I was able to choose a book from the many available and enjoy reading at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand. The spacious bath, especially the bubble bath, was very soothing. The meals were so plentiful that I couldn’t finish everything. The sunrise the next morning was beautiful. There were also goats and rabbits, and if it were closer, it’s a place where I’d love to bring my dog for a Multiple Night Stay.

I had been wanting to try a soy sauce pressing experience for a long time, so I came to visit. I joined casually, but the deeply moving stories you shared left a strong impression on me. Enjoying freshly pressed soy sauce with grilled kuzumochi was exceptionally delicious. I was also happy that there was a lounge where we could freely enjoy wine and coffee. The wine provided happened to be from one of my favorite wineries, which made me even happier. The meal was wonderful—each ingredient’s flavor really stood out, and everything was delicious. There were so many ways to enjoy the soy sauce that my excitement never faded. The Room was very clean and comfortable. All of the staff were incredibly kind, and I’m truly grateful for your hospitality. It was a truly luxurious time for both mind and body. Every time we enjoy the soy sauces we bought as souvenirs, we’re reminded of Maruto Soy Sauce, and my husband and I still talk about how much fun it was whenever it comes up. We’ll be back again.

We had a truly relaxing stay. We had planned our sightseeing itinerary in advance, and when we shared it with the staff, they adjusted our breakfast time, arranged taxis, and even prepared our Room to match our schedule. Thanks to that, we could return to the Room between outings to take a bath and change clothes—making it feel like we were relaxing at home. The person who looked after us interacted with us at just the right distance—always attentive without being intrusive—and respected our time. They quietly observed what we needed and responded naturally, which made us realize what genuine hospitality really is. The meals were also outstanding. With every dish, we could feel the care and thought put into preparing it for the guest. Everything was delicious, and we finished every bite. The tableware was charming as well—each piece unique—and beautifully paired with the food. The Room was the perfect size for two of us. Since this trip focused on sightseeing, we chose a Room with a hinoki bath rather than an open-air bath, and it was wonderfully soothing. Drink refills and towel replacements were handled thoroughly, and they even prepared sweet potatoes as a late-night snack—we enjoyed them very much. The message that came with them also felt warm and thoughtful. We were impressed by all the small touches as well—the Shuttle Service to night kagura performances, plus cushions and shoe bags thoughtfully provided. After seeing the CDs and books in the Room, we decided that next time we’d like to stay not only for sightseeing but also to spend an entire day relaxing in the Accommodation. Thank you for providing such a comfortable space and time. It was truly a wonderful Accommodation—one that makes us want to return right away. That said… I hope it doesn’t become too hard to get a Reservation (laugh).

I hadn’t visited Arima Onsen for quite some time since the COVID-19 pandemic, but if I was going to return after so long, I wanted an exceptional place for both cuisine and Onsen—so I decided to splurge on this Accommodation. I had known the name Kinzan for years, but everything was far beyond my expectations, and my mother was absolutely delighted as well. This time we fully enjoyed the live conger eel kaiseki along with the Onsen, and if possible, we’d love to visit again during crab season.

Thank you for taking care of us on the final day of our 3-night, 4-day trip to Nikko. Away from the lively area around Toshogu Shrine, we were able to savor Nikko deeply and quietly. From arrival to departure, every member of the Accommodation spoke to us warmly with a smile, and we spent our time feeling truly relaxed. The amenities in the Room and the drink service were also thoughtfully prepared down to the smallest details, and we did not feel inconvenienced in any way. The meals and Onsen we had been looking forward to most were absolutely wonderful, making these two days a truly happy time. Nikko’s water is excellent, and the coffee brewed with it was especially delicious—I even bought some beans on my way home. I’d like to brew coffee once more with the water you kindly gave us and reminisce about our trip to Nikko. I am also grateful for your courteous phone call when I carelessly left something behind in the Room, and for sending it promptly. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

This stylish A-frame vacation home is in a very quiet location. It’s far more spacious than staying in a Hotel Room, and even our family of five could truly relax without feeling cramped at all. Thanks to the baby amenities you provided, our stay was genuinely comfortable and very helpful. We sincerely appreciate your thoughtful attention to detail. The Onsen is fed directly from the source, so it may feel hot at first, but you can quickly adjust it by adding water and enjoy an exceptional soak.

I stayed with my 91-year-old mother, who uses a walking cart. Thank you for the Shuttle Service from Kaizuka Station. The meals had a gentle flavor and were very delicious; my mother said they were delicious and finished everything. We were able to relax in the Onsen in our Room.\nMy mother says she wants to come again, so please welcome us back.

While Accommodations with Onsen and breakfast and dinner included are wonderful, we were hoping for a stay that felt more like living locally. We stayed as a couple, and the simple layout—kitchen, dining area, bedroom, toilet, and shower—was impressive and made for a very comfortable stay. The owner’s mural was gentle and blended beautifully with the interior, creating a lovely atmosphere. We were told that in winter all rooms have underfloor heating so you can stay comfortable even in short sleeves, so we’d love to visit again in another season. There’s an OGINO supermarket nearby as well as a butcher shop; we enjoyed basashi and relaxed with Yamanashi wine (the kitchen knife wasn’t very sharp, but honestly it felt safer that way). Partway through our stay, the owner stopped by to check on us and shared stories about life at Lake Yamanaka—more than anything else, that became our favorite memory and made us feel at ease. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

I stayed here as a birthday gift for my sister. We were amazed the moment we entered the Room—not only did you prepare a Room with a view of the five-story pagoda, but you also gifted us sparkling wine to celebrate. My sister was absolutely thrilled. In the lounge, we enjoyed a wide variety of drinks and alcohol, along with visually stunning sweets and carefully crafted dishes. At night, we dined at the rooftop bar while taking in Kyoto’s night views. For breakfast, I chose a conger eel hot pot—something rare for a Hotel breakfast—and truly savored Kyoto’s summer flavors. We were also able to visit Kiyomizu-dera early in the morning when it was quiet and uncrowded, which made us very happy. It seems it became a wonderful memory for my sister as well. Thank you very much for taking so many photos for us.

This was a place and an Accommodation I’d wanted to visit for a long time, but since it doesn’t have an Onsen, it ultimately dropped off my shortlist. For some reason, this time I just really wanted to go, so we decided to stay. When choosing our Room, since we don’t like moving around too much, we looked at Rooms in the main building (Toshiyoshiya), where the front desk, restaurant, large public bath, and bar are all on the same premises. Since it was a special occasion, we chose Room 102 facing the Narai-juku street. The Room is on the second floor, so you don’t end up making eye contact with tourists walking by—and you can enjoy people-watching instead. We were also surprised at how close you can see the sugidama hanging under the eaves and how large it is. Because it’s an old wooden building, during the day you can hear passersby and check-in conversations, but at night it becomes quiet. It didn’t bother me. Also, since the stairs are steep in an old-fashioned way, elderly guests or those with mobility issues may find them a bit concerning. There were only four bottles of water in the Room, but there’s tea and juice in a freezer next to the front desk that you’re free to take back to your Room. I love Onsen baths, but since there isn’t one here this time I soaked in the large public bath filled with spring water. It was about 30 minutes after check-in and no one else was there—so it felt like having it all to ourselves. It was wonderful! The in-room bath also had bath additives such as sake lees that made it enjoyable. Dinner featured locally sourced ingredients; everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We’re a couple around retirement age (late 50s/early 60s), and the portion size felt just right. By chance our stay overlapped with Chin Shrine’s annual grand festival as well, so we were able to watch part of it and really enjoyed ourselves. We’d also like to visit Narai-juku during its usual days too—so when we return again someday, we look forward to staying with you again.

A belated note, but I visited in June. The bellflowers were in bloom, and I was truly delighted. Thank you for the peaceful garden and the calm atmosphere inside the hall, as well as to the kind staff at reception and in the restaurant. The morning service was also a comforting time. I also learned about the Kukai exhibition from a brochure there and went right away. When I visit Kyoto again, I would love to stay at Chishakuin Temple.

At check-in, we were told our Room had been upgraded—what a wonderful surprise. Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy an even more relaxing stay than usual. Also, my husband accidentally left something behind, and you contacted us promptly before he even noticed. We are truly grateful for your kind help and support.

A lot has happened recently, and my husband took the lead and worked hard through it all. Now that things have finally settled down, we chose to stay here so he—and our dogs—could relax and enjoy some carefree time together. My husband said he was happy to experience something out of the ordinary again after a long time! The food was delicious, and we were truly satisfied with everything, including the Hotel staff’s hospitality and their thoughtful care for our dogs. We stayed here as a couple. The Room was a Japanese-style room where we could relax, and the staff were very courteous, which we truly appreciated. There was information saying the Onsen has radium-rich water that is good for the body, so we went in three times. The meals were so delicious and beautifully presented that we wanted to take photos. We would definitely love to visit again.

My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.

I considered an Accommodation on the Nagara River because I wanted to show my daughter cormorant fishing. An Onsen Accommodation would have been nice, but we wanted a buffet-style meal, so we chose this Hotel. It was an extremely hot day, and the moment we stepped into the Hotel, the cool air revived us. As a Diamond member benefit, I was happy to receive a one-drink service in the first-floor lounge. The Room we were assigned was on a high floor with a great view, and it was spotless—truly impressive. The dinner buffet isn’t in a huge restaurant, but the quality of the dishes served was excellent, and we enjoyed everything. Drink prices were reasonable for a Hotel, and since it was before cormorant fishing, my daughter and I each enjoyed one drink. We used taxis for round-trip transportation to the cormorant fishing site, which made it very comfortable. Even though it was hot that day, there was a pleasant river breeze, and it helped us forget the daytime heat for a while. Because the river level was low, it seems they didn’t actually catch many ayu, but being able to see energetic cormorants up close made it a great experience. At breakfast, there were many inbound guests early on, but they cleared out quickly, so we were able to eat in peace. The well-known ayu rice porridge was delicious—I went back for seconds several times. The selection of dishes also reflected local flavors well, with various Gifu specialties, which I appreciated. For morning fruit there were oranges, pineapple, and lychees; I’d be happier if there were a few more options. I liked the selection at the shop as well. If I had one request, I would truly appreciate Shuttle Service from the station to the Hotel. As expected of an established Hotel with history behind it, my daughter and I enjoyed an elegant stay. We traveled around Kumamoto by rental car with my spouse and our two sons, and stayed at Soan in two Rooms. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The staff were kind and attentive, which made us feel truly welcome. The Onsen water quality was excellent, and we felt deeply relaxed after bathing. The Rooms were clean and comfortable, making this Accommodation a great choice for a family trip. I highly recommend it, and would love to stay again if we have the chance.

I chose this Accommodation because it seemed to have a great view from the Room, and with the good weather it was even more wonderful than I imagined. The meals were truly delicious! All of the staff were very pleasant, and one staff member was from overseas but explained everything carefully, which I really appreciated. Visiting Aso has become a very special memory for me.
