Both the Room and the service were outstanding! I especially loved how close it is to the shopping street... I was also impressed that amenities such as L’OCCITANE shampoo were provided separately! I’d love to stay again!

I stayed here on a business trip. I arrived a bit early, but the Room had already been cleaned, so I was able to check in slightly ahead of time, which made everything afterward go smoothly. The Room was spacious and clean. Thank you very much.

My husband, daughter, and I travel to Hokkaido every year, and this time we visited Jozankei Onsen for the first time. We had imagined it as an Onsen area popular with large tour groups, but this Ryokan was run by a small team and their service was outstanding. It was the first time in a while that we truly enjoyed both our stay and delicious meals at a Ryokan. Not only the Japanese staff but also the international staff were highly professional in the way they spoke and in their knowledge of the cuisine (ingredients, cooking methods, etc.), and you could clearly see how diligently they are always learning. The lounge on the second floor offered light snacks, late-night bites, and tasty drinks throughout the day, which we enjoyed after bathing. The three of us stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. We have a few minor comments about how the Room is partitioned and that there is no screen on the open-air bath window, but the free-flowing hot spring water from the source was excellent. We didn’t know there was such a Ryokan in Jozankei Onsen where individual travelers could enjoy themselves so much. We would love to visit again in another season.

The Room was very comfortable. There were no cosmetic amenities in the Room, only body lotion. (They are available at the bathing Facility.) The Room had a shower booth and no bathtub. There is a separate bathing Facility, but there are only enough washing stations for about 7–8 people, so I recommend checking the crowd level on the monitor before going. It was crowded at night so I skipped it and went in the morning; the bath was clean and very pleasant. The staff were also courteous and helpful. Thank you very much.

The Onsen was a comfortable size and felt wonderful. The bamboo bath was especially relaxing. Since there is an Onsen for guests, we were able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The meals were buffet-style, and everything was delicious, with a menu that both adults and children could enjoy. If the observatory had been available, we could have enjoyed Kurokawa’s night sky even more. We knew it was out of order, but since there was a poster displayed, our child got excited and ended up disappointed.

The Room was very clean, the amenities were well provided, and the Hotel staff were kind. Even without meals included, bread was available in the morning. We felt thoughtful attention in every aspect. I rated only the bathroom a 3 because the shower required adjusting both the hot and cold taps, which was slightly inconvenient. It was very comfortable, and I would like to stay again.

We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had dinner at the Hotel’s Chinese restaurant. We did not mention our anniversary when making the Reservation, but the Hotel staff informed the restaurant, and they prepared an anniversary plate for us. The food was also excellent. The breakfast buffet was delicious as well, with a wide variety of options, and we were very satisfied. We also used the pool and fully enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

Compact yet fully equipped. Thoughtful attention to detail made possible by its intimate size. I felt a warmth you won’t find in a large Hotel. I was impressed by how well designed the bath area is—the atmosphere feels completely different at night and in the morning. I will definitely return. Thank you for your hospitality.

I stay here every time I visit Okinawa. The lounge is our favorite spot, so we always relax and spend time there. This time, the previous guest’s perfume scent bothered us, so we requested to move to a different Room. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I stay here several times a year and keep coming back—the natural aroma scents and carefully selected ingredients soothe me every time. The new summer welcome drink, which wasn’t available before, looked refreshing and was gentle on the body. Since it was a Multiple Night Stay, I was able to try all three syrups. Mint when I want to feel refreshed, cinnamon when my stomach feels tired, and red shiso when I feel like I might lose to the summer heat—each cup was truly comforting. I hope this becomes a regular offering from now on. The spiced chai at breakfast also felt uniquely special and was delicious.

I live not too far from Karuizawa. A friend from Tokyo really wanted to spend some quiet, relaxing time in Karuizawa, so we stayed there together. It feels like an Accommodation that combines the best of both a Hotel and a rental villa. The staff may feel politely hands-off at times, but if you ask, they respond with genuine care. Shuttle Service from Karuizawa Station is also available, so if you need it, it’s best to inquire and Reserve in advance. Although it’s close to Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza, you can step just a little way off the main road and escape the crowds. I also saw guests staying solo who spent their time reading throughout their stay. Rather than coming for a typical Hotel experience, you’ll appreciate this place most if you stay here to enjoy your own time. At check-in, we received lounge vouchers worth 1,000 yen per person. We had planned to have dinner at a restaurant outside and didn’t find anything we wanted at the shop. When I asked at the front desk, they suggested having homemade ginger ale in our Room after dinner. You order it at the front desk and bring it back yourself, but it was a great suggestion. If I have friends who want to stay in Karuizawa again, this is a Hotel I would recommend.

I stayed here on a solo trip as a treat for myself. From the moment I arrived, I was comforted by the staff’s warm and attentive hospitality. The meals were packed with fresh vegetables, with generous portions—I was completely satisfied. On top of that, the all-you-can-drink option, pre-dinner snacks, and dessert service made it a truly pampering stay. I was so full after dinner that I unfortunately couldn’t eat dessert, but next time I’d like to plan my appetite better so I can enjoy it. Even when we drove past the Hotel on our way out, the staff waved to me with big smiles, and it left me feeling warmly happy—almost to tears. Next time I’ll come with my family. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

After our trip to Furano, we found this Hotel while looking for a place to stay on the way home. Because it’s in the mountains, we were a bit worried about the drive, but it wasn’t far from downtown Ashibetsu, so we arrived without any trouble. We expected an older Facility, but once inside it felt completely modern. Everything was spotless, and there were lots of features younger guests would enjoy. Detox water stations from various brands, a space filled with books, areas to relax and chat, a guest-only lounge, wall art, and exhibits about Yutani Onsen and local coal mine history—there was always something interesting to see. The owl artwork on the wall was especially cute; if there had been any related goods for sale, I would have bought them. After getting out of the bath area, I was disappointed that one spot had that owl covered by a notice—I really wanted to see it. Our Room had a classic Japanese style but was very clean. The tatami mats were fresh and green-blue and felt great. It seemed that the open-air bath and the pot bath used Onsen water. Unfortunately it rained at night, but soaking in the Onsen under cover while listening to the rain was truly relaxing. I feel like I’ve made a connection with Ashibetsu as well—I genuinely want to visit again. I’d definitely recommend this Accommodation to friends and acquaintances. Pros: - It’s a reasonably priced Hotel, but perhaps because it’s part of the Banyan Tree chain, the service felt comparable to a high-end Hotel. Even though I stayed only one night, the front desk staff remembered my name, and every staff member was brisk and professional—very pleasant. When I asked after checkout whether they could keep some food refrigerated while storing my luggage, they kindly agreed. - A shower-only setup may be a matter of preference, but since it was midsummer it was perfectly comfortable. If anything, it made the Room feel more spacious. - The small raised tatami area is also relaxing. I would have preferred floor cushions (zabuton) over regular cushions, but that may be intended for international guests. Cons: (all minor “if I had to say” points—not deal-breakers) - The nearest station is Sanjo Keihan, so I wouldn’t say access to all of Kyoto is ideal. That said, the exit is right nearby, so it’s a good location if you plan to visit the surrounding area. - The in-Room TV remote has buttons for Netflix and similar services, but the TV isn’t connected to the internet so you can’t use them—disappointing. - This is common in Ryokan-style properties, but the ceramic washbasin has a rough texture; when washing your face, if your fingers brush against it, it can sting a little. - I used the spa; since it seems to be regular guest Rooms converted into treatment spaces and you step out into a guest-room corridor from reception first, it may feel slightly less “special.” The treatment itself was very good.

We stayed for two nights as a family. As this is glamping within a golf facility, it’s set on beautifully maintained lawns, and we were able to relax very comfortably—almost like staying at a Hotel. Even though it was summer, insects didn’t bother us much. We did notice a slight vinyl-like smell from the tent, but the interior was spacious, with two air-conditioning units and adjustable lighting, so it was very comfortable. The bathrooms were also very clean, which made it reassuring for women as well. The Italian meals were excellent and very generous in portion size. We stayed for two nights, and they changed the menu for us; everything was delicious. I can’t go into details, but they were also considerate of our picky-eating son—I felt sorry to trouble them—but we truly appreciated their thoughtful attention. Because it’s all-inclusive, I was disappointed that I don’t drink alcohol, but my husband does and seemed extremely satisfied being able to enjoy a variety of drinks without hesitation. We couldn’t make it to bar time due to our schedule, but it sounded like there was a great selection and we would have loved to try it. There is some distance between the clubhouse where you dine and the tent where you stay. Shuttle Service is generally provided, but if you want to walk instead, please note that walking may not be allowed during certain hours (possibly for safety reasons). At night, it was lovely to stroll from the clubhouse back to the tent while looking up at the sky. There’s also a “German Village” within driving distance; we enjoyed activities like putter golf with our children. We didn’t overpack our schedule and spent two relaxing days—making wonderful memories.

We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday. Check-in after arrival was quick, and we appreciated being able to enjoy complimentary drinks. The Room also had a small flower gift, and we were able to relax in an ocean-view Room. The meals were delicious as well. She was very happy, so it became a memorable day. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed here many times. The rates are affordable, the Hotel is clean, and I can fully enjoy Spa World for two days, so I’m always grateful! It would be even more appreciated if the parking fee were not limited to a 24-hour period, but instead set as a flat rate (e.g., 1,000 yen) from the check-in day through the end of the check-out day.
