I was truly overwhelmed by the many wonderful paintings displayed throughout the property. The collection of rare vintage wines in the cellar—such as aged Romanée-Conti and Château Margaux—was also very impressive. After dinner, I took a walk through the garden and returned to my Room, only to realize my smartphone was missing, so I hurriedly consulted the front desk. Even though it was late at night, the staff worked hard to search for it, including in the restaurant that had already closed and deep into the garden. In the end, they also advised me to use my Apple Watch’s location feature, and we were able to safely find it where it had fallen into a gap between chairs in the entrance area. I sincerely appreciate all of your staff for their quick thinking and kind, warm support. It was a truly wonderful stay.

We had French cuisine for dinner, and every dish made excellent use of local ingredients—it was delicious and very satisfying. There was a great variety all the way through to the final dessert, so we never got bored and enjoyed everything. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

Everything—from the staff and guest rooms to the meals—was perfectly balanced and very comfortable. The staff were friendly without being intrusive, and we had a wonderful time. It would not be an exaggeration to say this was one of the best Hotels we have ever stayed at. Thank you very much.

My mother and I stayed for one night, and we were truly impressed by the Hotel staff’s courteous service from check-in to check-out. The Room was clean and comfortable, so we could relax, and the breakfast buffet offered many unique dishes—all of them were delicious. This is a Hotel we would love to stay at again if we have the chance. Thank you very much.

It was the first time in a while that I was able to stay at a Hotel that exceeded its price. Everyone at the front desk was friendly, and the shared spaces were clean. The Room is compact but well cleaned, and I had no issues at all with any odors from the towels or pajamas, making it completely stress-free. The Facility was excellent. The location is outstanding, and I would like to stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo.

This was my 8th stop on a classic Hotel tour. The atmosphere was wonderful, and I ended up extending my stay—spending three nights and four days in two rooms in the main building: Premium Classic and Premium Panorama Corner. Both Rooms were excellent, but personally I especially loved the ambiance of the Premium Classic. The Premium Panorama Corner has a sofa, so it’s great for relaxing. And since we were on the first floor this time, we could see deer up close outside the window in the morning and evening—they were adorable. The entire building has a charming design that truly conveys its history, and I found myself forgetting how time was passing just by looking around. With such a beautiful building, delicious food, and friendly staff, I was completely satisfied—three nights and four days still didn’t feel like enough. Now that the West Wing has reopened after renovation, I’d love to stay there next time. Nara Park is also within walking distance, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. The deer are cute and everyone is kind—Nara was amazing.

This was my first stay for a live concert at Pia Arena. Since it’s right across the street, I could return immediately after the show, which was great. The bathroom had a separate washing area, breakfast was delicious, and even though it was raining I could still enjoy the view (it would have been perfect on a clear day). The staff were also excellent, so this has become a Hotel I’d like to stay at again. I’ll definitely come back even when there isn’t a concert. Thank you for your hospitality.

Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere was wonderful! The breakfast buffet was also incredibly lavish! I was busy with personal plans in the evening and couldn’t make it to the bar, which I really regret—so next time I’d like to stay again and take my time! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This was our second stay. We came back because the food last time was so delicious, and once again every dish was truly wonderful. My daughter has many allergies, but the staff carefully confirmed everything with us, so she could enjoy the meal safely and deliciously. Thank you very much. We also enjoyed the open-air bath in our Room, as well as the open-air bath and lying-down bath in the large public bath area. This time we also used the hot stone spa and bedrock sauna, and we had such a lovely time that it felt like there wasn’t enough time. We were sad to leave. We will definitely come back again.

Thank you again for everything! I called because we were likely to arrive earlier than planned, and you kindly assisted us. While we waited, we enjoyed some drinks, and since there was an Othello set available, my husband and I had a great time. After that, we thoroughly enjoyed the karaoke, wonderful meals, bath, massage, table tennis—everything was very comfortable! We plan to stay again in March. We look forward to seeing you then.

I stayed here last year to celebrate my birthday, and loved it so much that I returned again this year for my birthday celebration. This time, I truly appreciate your even more thoughtful hospitality. Thanks to you, I was able to relax wholeheartedly in my Room. This year’s concept was to take things slow at a Hotel. First, I enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay at a wonderful Hotel in Umekoji. Then I came here. The atmosphere is different, yet even better. It feels wonderfully calm. I think it’s because you make the most of the location by the Kamo River and let us experience Kyoto in such a comfortable way. Even though it’s right in the bustle of Shijo-Kawaramachi, this is a space where you don’t feel any of that at all—remarkable. Your affiliated HIYORI Ocean Resort Okinawa is also one of my favorites—an exquisite Hotel that lets you truly feel the beauty of Onna Village. I’ve completely fallen for Soraniwa Terrace Kyoto as well! At this rate, I may end up coming back again for my birthday next year.

Even though my Reservation was made on the day of arrival, everything went smoothly when I arrived—your service was truly excellent, and I’m very grateful. The well-stocked welcome drinks and the thoroughly cleaned Room made my stay extremely comfortable. Breakfast also had a great variety, and I was very satisfied. Considering the price, both the facilities and service were outstanding in every way. This is my No. 1 Business Hotel of the year. Thank you very much.

It’s a little away from Hankyu Umeda Station, but not far enough to be a concern. There are many restaurants nearby, making it a convenient location. The Hotel staff are polite and welcoming, and they see you off pleasantly as well. You can also enjoy the “Miracle Breakfast” at a relaxed pace. This is a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

Obuse, the town of Hokusai and chestnuts, is known for its beautiful streetscape that feels almost like a theme park. We arrived a little early by car, so we visited Gansho-in Temple and Jokoji Temple before heading to Masuichi Kyakuden. The ceiling painting at Gansho-in—Katsushika Hokusai’s “Phoenix Glancing in All Directions”—was truly breathtaking. As soon as we pulled up in front of Masuichi Kyakuden, a staff member came right out and efficiently carried our luggage inside. The highly sought-after “Chestnut Dessert Suzaku,” which is notoriously difficult to secure, will be offered from 9/10 this year. Because guests staying at Masuichi Kyakuden receive priority guaranteed access, it becomes even harder to make an Accommodation Reservation for stays from 9/10 onward. Since our stay was before then, making a Reservation was easy. Stepping inside Masuichi Kyakuden, you’re immediately enveloped by the stately atmosphere of the kura storehouse building. Our Room was on the second floor; we chose the Relax Twin style. Despite being in a kura-style structure, it also has a terrace, with plenty of natural light and an open feel. There are also more traditional, calmer kura-style Rooms available; however, we were told they are designed with high ceilings to avoid any sense of confinement. Designed by architect John Morford, the Room is fully Western-style with extensive use of stainless steel—its glass-and-stainless bath is well worth seeing. Amenities are L’Occitane; the refrigerator includes complimentary drinks; plus coffee and tea—everything you’d expect from a high-end Ryokan-style stay is provided, making the Room very comfortable. For dinner, we walked about three minutes to Obusedo Honten (part of the same Masuichi group). Every dish showcased the head chef’s experience and refined sensibility. The soup course, simmered dishes, and grilled items had a Kyoto kaiseki influence—above all else, the dashi was exceptional. The sashimi was fresh and perfectly seasoned as well. Local ingredients were used throughout for very high satisfaction overall. One note: the first items served—lightly dressed Kurakake beans and Matsumae-zuke—are not part of the course menu itself (just so you know). They’re clearly intended as snacks with alcohol—especially sake brewed by Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery within the same group—and both paired beautifully with their sake: firm Kurakake beans soaked in elegant dashi alongside Matsumae-zuke packed with rich seafood umami made each sip even better than before. In autumn Obuse becomes all about chestnuts; while we couldn’t try “Chestnut Dessert Suzaku,” we did get to enjoy “Mont Blanc Suzaku,” a Western-inspired take on Suzaku. It’s available at their affiliated shop “Entotsu.” We nearly gave up due to long lines but learned that overnight guests can make Reservations—so we were able to enjoy it without waiting. If you stay at Masuichi Kyakuden, be sure to indulge in one of their “Suzaku”-style chestnut sweets if you can. Overall it was an outstanding stay—we thoroughly enjoyed Obuse from start to finish.

As always, the hospitality was outstanding. Rather than a scripted approach, each staff member’s personality shines through in their service, which leaves a lasting impression and makes the stay truly comfortable. I always hope to be the kind of guest the team is happy to welcome. This time we also used your affiliated golf course and a restaurant at The Busena Terrace, and it was very reassuring that information was shared seamlessly between them. It was the busy summer holiday season with many families, but since it was just the two of us as a couple, The Atta Terrace felt calm and especially relaxing. On our way home we talked about wanting to stay for about a week next time. We’ll do our best until we can return again.

This was our fourth stay. Thank you for the kind and attentive service from the staff. We were very satisfied with the Onsen, which we could use even late at night, as well as the ice cream, Yakult, and drinks available afterward. It was a wonderful three-day stay. This was our third stay on the lounge floor. Everyone—front desk staff, floor staff, bell staff, and lounge staff—was full of hospitality and treated us with great care, so we were able to enjoy another comfortable and pleasant stay. When we visited the lounge at tea time, they remembered the name of our five-year-old daughter and spoke to her kindly. Their thoughtful attention made us very happy and left a lasting impression. The Room was, of course, spotless—gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The food in the lounge was also high quality; this time, in addition to the standard offerings, there were seasonal dishes as well, which made it even more enjoyable. We also used the spa and gym and felt refreshed both physically and mentally. It was a truly wonderful one-night stay. No matter how many times we visit, it’s one of our favorite Hotels that always makes us want to come back. We would love to return again.

This was my third visit this year. I enjoyed the Japanese cuisine on my previous stay, so I chose the kaiseki course again this time. When a seasoned male staff member served our meal, he said, “You visited in May last time, didn’t you?” I was truly touched that he took the time to check (and I’m sorry—I mistakenly said I came in June). The attentive service, breathtaking views, excellent hot spring water quality, spotless changing area, and beautiful interior—this Hotel is the best for me. I hope it will always remain a calm and relaxing place.

I chose this Hotel because Reviews said the breakfast was delicious. The Hotel had a wonderful atmosphere, and the Room was clean. They also provided cleansing oil, toner, and other amenities, and the shower had a Mirable showerhead, which left my hair and skin feeling great—I was very happy. There was a wide variety of breakfast options, and everything was delicious. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

We stayed for two nights in late August on a family trip. On the first night, I became unwell (likely heat exhaustion due to Kyoto’s climate and lack of sleep), and you kindly adjusted how dinner was served. You also prepared an ice pack and cold water, and all the staff offered warm words afterward as well—I truly caused you a lot of trouble. The next day we returned to the Accommodation early after sightseeing, but housekeeping was completed quickly and the Room was restored to a comfortable state. Our child had brought a favorite stuffed toy, and seeing it seated on the sofa warmed our hearts. I was also impressed that all staff had shared information such as my avoiding caffeine and our child’s preferences, and handled everything so naturally with thoughtful care. The timing of your check-ins and sense of distance were just right, and we experienced truly wonderful hospitality. We used the Room as a family of three (our child is in 6th grade), and it felt neither too large nor too small. Having a bath in the Room was especially nice because we could use it whenever we wanted. The water temperature was set to 41°C, which feels hot in summer, but we could adjust it by adding water. The changing area had floor heating, which helped prevent us from getting too chilled after bathing. Towels and water were replenished as well, so even if we sweated after bathing, it was great to be able to use clean towels and clothes. Also, there was a lovely fragrance the moment we entered the Room, with incense throughout the building—these scent touches made everything feel special and out of the ordinary. Every meal was truly delicious. Our child has many dislikes when it comes to seafood, but you accommodated this thoughtfully; plus, both days’ menus were different so we could enjoy variety. In particular, the charcoal-grilled style dishes along with Anto-jiru soup, takikomi gohan (seasoned rice), and Wakan 18 tea were excellent—our child loved them too. Breakfast also came with many rice accompaniments that were all delicious. The soups and dashi-based dishes especially felt very “Kyoto,” which we appreciated. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took care of us during our stay. We made wonderful memories in Kyoto thanks to you. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again as a family.
