It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but the scenery along the way is so beautiful that getting there is truly enjoyable. The moment I arrived at the Accommodation and stepped inside, I was genuinely moved by the wonderful atmosphere. Everywhere you look feels like a scene from a drama or novel—surrounded by beautiful architecture and furnishings, I was able to fully enjoy an extraordinary escape. The entire property was also impeccably clean, making my stay extremely comfortable. From my Room, I could gaze out at lush greenery, and the soothing sound of the river was so relaxing that I found myself listening for ages and losing track of time. The baths are private-use only (a large bath and a smaller bath), so I never had to share with other guests. Being able to soak in complete privacy and unwind without any hesitation was something I truly appreciated. And as for the meals—I chose a Plan with both dinner and breakfast included, and both were absolutely outstanding. For dinner, we went to Otowasanso for kaiseki cuisine. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the dashi flavors were exceptional; I was continuously impressed from start to finish by these delicate dishes unique to Japan. The attendant who explained each course was warm and attentive throughout, which made it an especially happy experience. Breakfast was served on the second floor of Meitokuan. Freshly cooked rice, rolled omelet, grilled salmon, miso soup—each item was simple yet carefully prepared, leaving me feeling satisfied in both body and mind. Both dinner and breakfast were so wonderful that I honestly wished those moments would never end. If you stay at this Accommodation, I highly recommend choosing a Plan that includes both dinner and breakfast—you won’t regret it. Lastly, this was truly a lovely Accommodation filled with thoughtful attention to detail and heartfelt hospitality beyond what I can fully describe. I would love to visit again. The traditional farmhouse has been beautifully renovated—it was truly lovely, spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. For dinner by the irori hearth, the staff grilled skewers for us, and we left completely satisfied. Everyone on the team was kind and listened attentively, and my elderly father seemed to have a great time as well. Thank you so much for everything; it’s a place we would definitely love to visit again.

This charming Ryokan is perfect for a relaxing stay, offering Onsen-equipped rooms where you can unwind all day. Ideal for a Multiple Night Stay, it allows you to fully enjoy the serene atmosphere. The meals are plentiful and satisfying, even for those with smaller appetites like my daughter and me. Complimentary beer and boiled eggs are available at the gazebo, adding to the delightful experience. What truly stands out is the warm hospitality of all staff members, from young male staff to new female staff, making every interaction soothing from check-in onwards. Located within walking distance of Yufuin's Yunotsubo Kaido Street, this Ryokan is highly recommended if you want to explore Yufuin while enjoying exceptional service and comfort.

Close to the station, with smooth check-in. The in-room open-air bath was excellent. Meals were served in a private dining room, so we could eat without worrying about others. Unfortunately, although I had reserved and paid online, the payment was canceled without my knowledge and I was asked to pay on-site. It was disappointing that there was no notice and that payment was requested at the property. Please let me know why the online payment for my reservation was canceled.

The Onsen accommodation was excellent except for the outdoor bath having a cover and the volume of breakfast. The heartfelt cuisine, in particular, was truly impressive.

Nothing particularly outstanding or disappointing. The location is convenient, and you can start exploring Shirakawa Village from the morning. One of the service staff said they are from Yangon and send money back home to support their parents. I realized how tough that must be. When I went sightseeing, there were indeed many international visitors, but I didn’t feel that as much at this Accommodation. If I have the chance, I’d stay again—that’s about it.

Even just enjoying the complimentary curry makes this hotel well worth the price. The room was cold and I couldn’t switch the air conditioner to heating mode, so I contacted the front desk and they brought me a blanket. Although the facilities are a bit dated, everything was clean, and I could feel the staff’s thoughtful service throughout my stay.

This was our first time staying here. We were able to park right in front of the building, which made carrying our luggage incredibly easy. The female staff member who assisted us at check-in provided wonderful service with a warm smile, and it instantly eased our travel fatigue. The Room was very clean, and the Simmons bed was comfortable, allowing us to fully recover from a long drive and head out comfortably the next day. The large public bath was also clean, and we were able to stretch out and relax properly. My spouse and I were both very satisfied with our stay. Thank you very much—we would love to stay again!

We stayed in the Garden Tower at NASPA New Otani with breakfast only (no dinner). We bought food at a nearby supermarket and checked in. I had confirmed in advance that the Room had a microwave, so we were able to enjoy our meal very nicely. The refrigerator was also larger than in a typical Hotel, so there was plenty of space for drinks, and we could even store ice cream after dinner—very satisfying! Even so, I think it’s amazing how affordable it is. The staff were truly wonderful: when they had time, they worked efficiently on other tasks, and if we hesitated even a little about what to do, they would kindly speak to us. I’d love to stay again sometime.

It was an Accommodation that was ten times better than I expected. First, the front desk staff were very courteous. The Room was fine overall; I have no complaints except that I would have liked a few more power outlets. In any case, the large public bath was extremely clean and wonderful. I’d like to stay again.

From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, the hospitality was exceptional. There were families staying on the same day, and it was lovely to see how attentively everyone was cared for. As described beforehand, the building has a historic charm. However, those who are sensitive to older structures might find it less suitable; hence my 4-star rating. Personally, I found the Facility more than adequate and impeccably clean, making my stay very comfortable. As of late October, in addition to air conditioning, heaters were placed throughout the property along with a kotatsu and even hot water bottles—ensuring excellent cold-weather preparation. The bath is small but can be enjoyed almost privately if timed well; it wasn’t too hot and allowed for a relaxing soak. Meals featured local ingredients thoughtfully explained by staff and paired with an excellent selection of sake. The breakfast side dishes were particularly delightful and suited my taste perfectly. Although I stayed alone this time, I would love to return with my family in the future if given another opportunity!

This was our fourth time staying at an Accommodation in Hida Takayama as a couple, and our second time with our child (following last year). We felt Futari Shizuka was a very well-balanced Accommodation overall. Above all, the view was outstanding—you can overlook the townscape of Hida Takayama from the Accommodation. This was true both from our Room and from the baths. My wife and child were truly amazed by the scenery. Another highlight, along with the view, was the staff’s perfectly measured hospitality. There were international staff members as well, and when our child ended up eating my wife’s dessert, they quietly brought her an extra one. The comfortable sense of distance in their service felt wonderful. Next, about the meals and baths. Dinner let us fully enjoy everything—Hida beef of course, plus foil-baked dishes, tempura, and sashimi. Breakfast also had just the right number of items with a well-balanced selection; for me it was a perfect volume that suited my taste very well. As for the baths, we didn’t use the paid private bath, but we were more than satisfied with just the large public bath! Right after check-in—before dinner—I went into the men’s bath with my child; both the size of the bath area and number of baths were just right, and we could enjoy it together comfortably. The scenery visible from both indoor and outdoor baths was truly spectacular. The next morning we were able to use another bath as well; both the Goemon-style tub and indoor bath were great. Our child happily said they wanted to go in again and again—and that simply doubled our enjoyment. Overall, it felt like an excellent match for us personally. Auberge Hida Takayama and Honjin Hiranoya Annex—where we have stayed before—were also wonderful Accommodations, but Futari Shizuka felt perfectly “just right” in every way while still being excellent. On a personal note, there were sweets and figurines sold next to reception; by chance they had a character figure my child loves, so I could buy it as a gift—which became another great memory from Futari Shizuka for us. There were a few minor points such as steep stairs and some age to parts of the building, but thanks to those superb views and thoughtfully balanced hospitality, it became a trip we were truly satisfied with—and we are very grateful for that experience."""

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our 4-night trip. The other hotels were nice too, but we felt this first hotel was the best, and we would like to stay here again if we visit Okinawa next time. The station is close, all the staff were friendly, and we had a very comfortable stay.

This was my first time staying at a whole-house Hotel, and the staff were very kind—the services were excellent. I was also very satisfied with the handwritten letter and the spacious Room.\nHowever, while I was in the bathroom, a foreigner repeatedly tried to force open the front door (security), rattling it over and over. It was frightening to have someone loitering around the entrance, and their behavior was so scary that I had to go through the trouble of chasing them away.\nIt seems they had mistaken the location, but I couldn’t even use the bathroom in peace. At check-in, I would like Hotel staff to always accompany guests and guide them to the house.

Last year, we had to cancel the Reservation just before our stay as 2 out of 7 people caught the flu. This time, we could only make a one-night Reservation due to limited Room availability, but it was worth it. The meals exceeded expectations—mini osechi, seafood, simmered dishes, tempura, handmade desserts—all in portions more than enough for big eaters. The rice was very delicious and self-serve style allowed us to enjoy as much as we wanted without hesitation. Breakfast included special tofu and was also very tasty. The bath offered a view of snowy landscapes; the water temperature felt slightly lukewarm but perfect for relaxing comfortably. Although the Accommodation has an older feel to it, everything was kept very clean and tidy. The staff were all kind and welcoming. We wish we could have stayed for two nights!

Although it was a No Meals Included stay, we had a very comfortable time. Thank you for your courteous and kind service.
