We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it turned into a truly wonderful stay. We don’t drink alcohol, and when we mentioned that, they kindly replaced the drinks in the Room refrigerator with non-alcoholic options. We really appreciated such thoughtful attention. At dinner, they also gave my husband a single rose as a birthday gift. We were deeply moved by this unexpected and lovely gesture, and it became a great birthday memory. From the open-air bath in our Room, we could look out over the lake—the view was absolutely stunning. Soaking in the open-air bath while enjoying the expansive scenery was incredibly relaxing, and being able to enjoy the Onsen at our own pace whenever we liked felt like a real luxury. Dinner was delicious as well—especially the pizza! It was so good that we ended up having two. If I had to mention one small concern, since it’s surrounded by nature there were quite a few insects. When we tried to use the open-air bath at night, many bugs (like stink bugs) had gathered there, so unfortunately we gave up bathing at that time. That said, I think that’s simply part of staying in such a natural setting. More than anything else, what stayed with us were the view from our Room, the Onsen, the food, and the staff’s warm hospitality. We were able to celebrate my husband’s birthday in a wonderful way and made lasting memories. Thank you very much.

Every season, I’m moved by the nature, the cuisine, and the hospitality. This time, even the rainy scenery felt mystical. Even a single dish reflects its history and background and its connection to the region; together with the staff’s gentle warmth and the atmosphere, it feels like something unique to this place—carefully preserved over a long time. Thank you as always; I’ll be back!

I think this Accommodation is very comfortable for solo travelers. I was worried about using the bath because I wanted to use it as many times as I liked whenever I wanted, but I was able to enjoy it to my full satisfaction. Breakfast also offered a generous variety. It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back anytime. The shakuhachi performance was also a refreshing experience.

We were blessed with wonderful weather and arrived early, but we were shown to our room right away. After strolling around Kitamuki Kannon Hall, Anraku-ji Temple, and Joraku-ji Temple, we came back and headed straight for the baths. We used the 7th-floor bath in the evening and again in the morning; since it alternates between men and women morning/evening, both times felt completely private. We especially enjoyed the spectacular views from the open-air bath and the sauna. The water is silky-smooth and leaves your skin feeling wonderfully soft. Before checking out, we also enjoyed the private indoor bath in our room. We had a chance to see both rooms; although their layouts were completely different, both were spacious, with comfortable beds and excellent in-room baths. And then there was dinner—the highlight of our stay. This year’s matsutake harvest was abundant, and we were served an incredible variety and quantity of matsutake dishes unlike anything we’ve ever had before. Everything was outstandingly delicious—we were truly moved. The couple we invited was also amazed far beyond their expectations. When we asked our attendant, she told us that even in poor harvest years, thanks to 300 years of tradition and long-standing relationships, they can still secure plenty of matsutake even when they don’t appear on the market. The proprietress—often mentioned in reviews—was just as wonderful as everyone says. It all made sense: you can feel how her thoughtfulness naturally carries through to every member of staff. Since retiring, we travel almost every month, but this is the first ryokan that has impressed us so deeply. We would love to return at this time next year with the same group to enjoy matsutake again. Thank you very much.

Everything was exceptional from pick-up to send-off. I stayed here after a weekend trek, and upon arrival we were welcomed with a welcome drink, along with a clear and courteous explanation of the Accommodation—brief yet thorough at all the key points. As for dinner, to put it in gourmet terms: “a blissful dining experience woven from artfully presented plates and a refined atmosphere.” In my own words: the ambiance was wonderful, everything was delicious, and I couldn’t wait to see what would come next! The private bath we used after the meal was also perfect—an open-air bath of just the right size, stocked with popular in-bath amenities that were gentle on the skin—so I could truly relax. The futon was very comfortable, and breakfast was healthy and vegetable-focused with delicious rice; the after-meal coffee in the lounge was excellent as well. Thank you for seeing us off so pleasantly at the end. We’ll be back! It really was an amazing weekend.

During the Obon holidays, my daughter and her husband came back home with our grandchild, and we stayed here. It’s a Hotel specialized for children, and our grandchild was absolutely delighted. With the all-inclusive plan, we fully enjoyed both alcoholic and soft drinks. The meals were buffet-style, which made my daughters very happy as well. We also enjoyed the late-night snacks. We stayed in Room “Casual 10,” and since there are only two Rooms on the 8th floor, it was very spacious and cute. Everyone loved it—our grandchild especially—and kept saying how wonderful it was! The baths were also great; we were able to use both a private bath and the large public bath. Everyone was extremely satisfied. Thank you very much.

I stayed again at my favorite Tamaya Ryokan on October 9. As always, everything was impeccably clean, and from the moment I entered the room I was able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. I was soothed by the warm hospitality of all the staff. It was right in matsutake season, so the matsutake dishes at dinner were outstanding. I look forward to visiting again during the season of fresh greenery.

We stayed here for a surprise proposal trip. We considered many accommodations, but in the end we are truly glad we chose Tsuruga. From the pickup at Koriyama Station to how to spend time after arrival, the meals, drinks, and our departure the next day, the manager and all staff supported us warmly with just the right sense of distance. Dinner was outstanding. While enjoying Aizu local cuisine and basashi (horse sashimi), what especially impressed us was that they recommended local sake to match each dish. Since we both love sake, that alone made choosing this inn worthwhile. Above all, for this proposal they kindly helped us with everything—from advance consultations to preparations on the day. Thanks to them it was a success, and it became an unforgettable trip for both of us. We are truly happy that we were able to choose this inn for such an important milestone in our lives. We would love to come back to Tsuruga someday—and also visit your Akasaka restaurant. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for the first time with our dog to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The welcome drink and dessert were very delicious! The welcome treat for dogs also seemed tasty—our pup finished it in no time! There’s also a drink bar available at certain times, which was great. They even have alcohol, which was the best!! The dog run was air-conditioned, so it was comfortable even in midsummer. Our dog ran around until completely tired out. Dinner is buffet-style, so it’s hard to decide what to eat (lol). The roast beef and sashimi served as a one-plate set at the table were amazing! Alcohol is available for an additional fee, but the food is so good you can’t help wanting a drink (lol). You can dine together with your dog, and there’s also a buffet just for dogs, so we really enjoyed the meal. Since it was our daughter’s birthday, we ordered a cake for an additional fee, and it was delicious as well! The staff celebrated with us too, and our daughter was thrilled! You can also use a private bath. We used it this time; we had 90 minutes, so we could relax without rushing. Dogs are allowed in the private bath too, which is wonderful! There were post-bath drinks and ice cream in the fridge—also fantastic! It’s well worth paying the extra fee! By the way, I also used the large public bath in the morning. The view was great, and it felt wonderful bathing while looking out over Lake Hamana! The breakfast sandwiches were filling and very tasty! They come with pudding too—again, amazing! One of the reasons this Hotel felt so good is definitely how pleasant all of the staff are!! Everyone we met was smiling; they talked to our dog and played with him too. Our pup got lots of love! If I had to mention something negative: although parts have been renovated, there were some areas where you could feel that the building itself is old and showing its age. But personally, there were far more positives than anything else. How easy it is to stay with your dog here, how great the staff service is, how delicious the food is, how relaxing the baths are—we went home satisfied as a whole family! I’m glad we chose this Hotel for our first overnight trip with our dog. We’d love to stay again!!

I drove six hours just to stay here. It was my first time visiting Nagano, so I was worried about arriving safely, but I managed to make it... In the end, this was a wonderful inn in every way. The room was impeccably clean, and the Momoyama-style bath was truly beautiful. I could soak in the hot spring while admiring the breathtaking architecture. The service was excellent as well—my privacy was respected, yet I felt completely at ease throughout my stay. What impressed me most, however, was dinner. The choice of tableware and the beautiful presentation were outstanding. Each dish was served at its best—hot items arrived hot—and everything tasted delicious. I heard the menu changes monthly, and it made me want to come back every month. Even though it’s far away, I will definitely return. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality. It turned into a trip I am truly satisfied with.

My husband and I stayed at this Accommodation for one night during a two-day drive from Tokyo to Suwa and Narai-juku. Everyone on the staff was truly kind and attentive, and thanks to their warm hospitality we had a wonderful, enjoyable time. Right by the lakeside, we were able to relax in the open-air bath in our Room and fully enjoy the luxury of free-flowing natural hot spring water. The rooftop infinity bath was also very pleasant. The meals featured locally sourced ingredients, and we enjoyed dishes that felt uniquely Shinshu. There were many tableware items, furnishings, and pieces of furniture that matched my taste. We would love to visit again in a different season. The pass tour visiting four shrines was also excellent.

This was a wonderful place to stay. First, when I mentioned foods I couldn’t eat at the time of booking, I was surprised to receive an email right away with alternative suggestions. Everyone was very kind. Every meal was truly delicious and beautifully presented, and I was completely satisfied with everything, including the tableware and presentation. The baths were excellent. Including the day-use hot springs in Shibu Onsen, the water quality was wonderful, and I enjoyed soaking many times until it felt like it seeped into my skin. The carbonated spring in the indoor bath was also great. The property was spotless, and both the lounge and baths were always neat and well organized whenever I went. The pillow height and firmness were just right, and I slept very well. Above all, the staff were truly outstanding. They immediately noticed that I had caught a cold and felt chilly, and kindly brought me a lap blanket. They also remembered what we briefly talked about during dinner and even took the time to look things up and share helpful information with me. Thank you very much. From welcome to farewell, I sincerely appreciate everyone’s heartfelt hospitality. I highly recommend this accommodation.

We were very satisfied to be able to enjoy a wonderful meal together with our dog. The property is new, and the bedding was very clean. All of the staff were kind to our dog. It is also conveniently located within easy walking distance of Kumoba Pond, so we really enjoyed our morning walk as well. We would like to stay here again.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve been looking for an Accommodation that doesn’t serve meals buffet-style, and we chose Ayameya Ryokan based on its great Reviews. Throughout the property—not only the Room, but also the baths, changing area, and toilets—everything felt impeccably clean. The meals were full of thoughtful touches, such as a creatively arranged chawanmushi and tempura enjoyed with miso. It was quite a generous amount, but it was so delicious that we finished everything. The breakfast rice porridge was also a welcome treat. The Onsen had soft, gentle water, and I was able to soak slowly as if it were a private bath without running into other guests. (The open-air bath felt a little lukewarm for me.) I’d been staying mostly at large Hotels lately, so this time I truly experienced how wonderful a Ryokan can be thanks to the cheerful proprietress and the attentive hospitality of all the staff. It became an unforgettable Onsen trip—simply the best! To the proprietress: please take good care of yourself, and I hope you also get chances to relax and be pampered from time to time.

We had another very comfortable stay. We were soothed by everyone’s smiles and warm hospitality, the delicious meals, and the Onsen. The large public bath has everything you need, so it’s great that you can go empty-handed—it’s so easy and convenient. The Niagara wine we enjoyed in the lounge was also excellent! It was my sister’s first time at Otaru Furukawa, and she was very satisfied. Thank you as well for taking a two-shot photo of us in front of the Hotel! We usually enjoy a quiet couples’ getaway, but this time we left our car with you before check-in and enjoyed sightseeing in Otaru for the first time in a while. Furukawa is in a wonderful location right by the canal, and the view from our Room was lovely. Kojohama, Jozankei, and Otaru each have their own unique charm, and they’ve made us love Furukawa even more. We would love to visit again.

We visited by car from Tokyo as a late summer vacation trip for the two of us. This was a wonderfully hospitable inn, and we were able to spend our time in true comfort from arrival to check-out. The in-room bath was great, and the large public bath also had a lovely atmosphere. Everything was impeccably cleaned and very hygienic, so we could relax with complete peace of mind. Above all, the dishes made with local ingredients were delicious, and the friendly head chef’s personality was wonderful as well. We’d love to try the cuisine in another season, so we will definitely visit again! We have stayed at various small hot spring ryokan before, but this was the first place in Japan that made us think, “We absolutely want to come back!” Thanks to the attentive service from the staff and their thoughtful care throughout our stay, it became a truly heartwarming trip to Fukushima. Thank you very much.

We’d been looking forward to staying here because of its great reputation for food. Every dish was carefully prepared, and the homemade sweet bean paste in the dessert was lightly sweet and delicious. We wanted to eat it again, so we made a Reservation for November. At the large public bath “Kawa-no-Yu,” you can enjoy natural hot spring water while watching goldfish. There is also a private bath on the 3rd floor of the main building. You can also use the private baths at the annex Tamaya, making this Accommodation perfect for amazing food and Onsen!

I was impressed by the high quality of service from the hotel owner (probably the person who guided us in the parking lot) and all the staff. However, when I went to the bath first thing in the morning, I noticed that items like the washing-area stools were not neatly arranged, which concerned me a little. My wife felt the same way. Thank you to the staff member who served us at dinner—thank you for a wonderful time.

The parking lot is less than a 1-minute walk from the Accommodation, but cars cannot be brought right up to the entrance, so the proprietress came to our car to pick up our luggage. Dinner was the Shige-no-Ie group dining Plan; the hot pot was served with their homemade broth instead of ponzu, and it was very delicious. The soba rice porridge served at breakfast was also very tasty. However, we chose a room with an open-air bath, but perhaps due to its age, one tile had come off and there were quite a few dirty bits of sealant and debris floating in the water, which was disappointing. There were several other spots that felt loose when touched, so I think they should be repaired before more tiles come off. My husband used it and said both the Onsen and the garden were wonderful, but my daughter and I couldn’t use it because it felt unclean, which was unfortunate. All of the staff were easy to talk to and spoke to my daughter every time they saw her; everyone was very friendly and it was great.

We stay here every year around this time. The calm atmosphere remains unchanged, the food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful, so we are always very satisfied. Until now, we have visited as a couple, but this year we brought our two children and came as a family of four. Our children also had a very fulfilling time and were extremely happy with their stay. We would love to return next year as a family of four.
