Before each stay, it has become our tradition to visit Niutsuhime Shrine—a UNESCO World Heritage Site about five minutes away by car. This time, we joined a talk held from 5:00 PM in the lobby lounge about Niutsuhime Shrine. The storyteller shared fascinating behind-the-scenes stories that only someone closely connected to the shrine could tell; before we knew it, around 30 minutes had flown by. The next day after checkout, we visited Niutsuhime Shrine again and also explored nearby historic spots we learned about during the talk. It allowed us to worship from a completely new perspective—and we discovered power spots we never would have found on our own. The traditional house café near the shrine that was recommended to us was also wonderful, making this trip even more meaningful than ever! We heard these talks will continue on an irregular basis—if one happens during your stay, we highly recommend joining. We also heard that on some days there is a guided visit starting at 7:00 AM (meeting at the lobby lounge) for worship at Niutsuhime Shrine. No matter how many seasons pass or how much time goes by, this is a place we want to return to again and again. It’s truly a blissful hotel—so full of happiness that it feels impossible to find anywhere else!

We stayed here with our dog again for the first time in three months, following our visit this June. Last time, the Italian food was so delicious that we decided to come back. Also, since you can dine together with your dog, you can relax and truly enjoy your meal. If your dog behaves well, they get a jerky treat as a reward—so our pup kept watching that staff member the whole time... We’d love to stay again.

I chose to stay here because of its charming atmosphere, and I was sure my husband would like it too. Before booking, I called to ask about the room amenities. The head chef handed the call over to a female staff member, but her tone felt a bit harsh, and for a moment I hesitated about staying. However, once we actually arrived, that impression completely changed. Everyone who assisted us during our stay was very warm and welcoming, with genuine hospitality, and there was nothing at all that concerned me. The property was spotless throughout, and the lounge was comfortable—I was able to relax at ease. Above all, the food was outstanding. Each dish was prepared with great care while considering harmony with soy sauce, and I could truly feel the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion behind the cooking. Although the dishes made excellent use of soy sauce flavors, they never left an overly salty aftertaste—even after finishing everything—and I enjoyed every bite until the end. Because dinner was so exceptional, I would have been even happier if breakfast had been a bit more substantial. Including not only the cuisine but also the atmosphere and overall comfort of the inn, it became a truly memorable stay. This is a place I would definitely like to return to.

We had a wonderful time in a very clean room with excellent facilities. The meal was also delicious—a meat-themed kaiseki course that felt refreshingly different from typical ryokan cuisine. The location, in the Higashiyama area, was another highlight, making it easy to explore around Kiyomizu-dera in the morning.

I think this Accommodation is very comfortable for solo travelers. I was worried about using the bath because I wanted to use it as many times as I liked whenever I wanted, but I was able to enjoy it to my full satisfaction. Breakfast also offered a generous variety. It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back anytime. The shakuhachi performance was also a refreshing experience.

This is the most satisfying Ryokan I have ever stayed at. The hospitality was beyond anything I could have imagined. The owner, the proprietress, and all the staff were wonderful people, and their warmth truly touched my heart. The meals, centered on seafood, featured outstanding ingredients and careful preparation—I was completely satisfied. What deserves special mention is the owner’s 100% buckwheat handmade soba: its aroma and smoothness were exceptional. I live in a prefecture known as a soba mecca, but I have never had soba better than this. Even the breakfast vegetables were all pesticide-free and homegrown, made with real care. The Onsen water was a reddish cloudy spring that felt gentle on the skin and relieved my fatigue. The building has a dignified presence with a sense of history. In every way it was outstanding—an Accommodation that makes you want to return again soon.

We arrived after climbing the slope of Mt. Daisen for a while in light rain and mist. Seeing the word “Church,” we hesitated for a moment, but when we opened the wooden lobby door, we found a charming space unified in an antique style—like stepping into a Kenji Miyazawa story. You can truly feel how much the owner couple and staff value and care for their guests. Once shown to our room, the fog gradually lifted, revealing beautiful views of Yonago’s cityscape in the distance, along with the Sea of Japan and Lake Nakaumi. The open-air bath on the terrace was pure luxury, soaking while taking in the spectacular scenery. Dinner was exceptional both in presentation and taste. We also enjoyed chatting with the dining staff, and the timing of each course was perfect. In this quiet natural setting, we spent blissful time that felt well beyond its price. A highly recommended Accommodation.

We stayed here to see the crystal-clear “Lake Biwa Blue,” and this hotel exceeded our expectations!! From the courteous service by the male front desk staff to the moment we entered our lake-view room—we were truly moved. The view spreading out before us made us gasp in delight. The room was spotless, and the bed-making was truly five-star quality. With amenities like a massage chair, we could relax comfortably just staying in the room. Dinner featured a wonderful selection of dishes that were clearly not pre-made—each one reflecting the chef’s refined sense of aesthetics. We also enjoyed the seasonal tableware at a leisurely pace. After dinner, we took a walk along Lake Biwa, soothed our tiredness in the private family bath, and went to bed early. The next morning, we watched migratory birds flying over Lake Biwa and admired a beautiful sunrise, starting the day feeling refreshed. This is a hotel we would definitely love to visit again!! We stayed here for our second night. We were blessed with great weather—it was perfect. Since we arrived early, we visited Otaki Falls nearby, but the valley was deep and the elevation changes were intense, leaving us completely exhausted. (There were some fallen trees and rockfalls, so we had to take a detour.) This is a wonderful auberge, just as reputed. That day it was only our group, so we fully enjoyed the private bath, and the Room was lovely—we could relax and truly enjoy a cool summer getaway. Every dish was delicious, and the wine at dinner was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the peach dessert. The owners’ warm hospitality was exceptional—this has become an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again.

This is a perfect Accommodation no matter when you visit. It was Kyoto in extreme heat, but thanks to your thoughtful care in many ways, we had a wonderful time. The pike conger is a must in this season; it is an additional-order dish, but highly recommended. We are planning to visit again in autumn.

The floors throughout the Ryokan were comfortable to walk on barefoot, making it feel like home. I completely understood why rolling suitcases are not allowed. I could really appreciate the owner’s attention to detail, and I thought it was wonderful. The location was excellent, and the meals were delicious.

Located roughly across the river from the Nagatoro Iwadatami (not within walking distance). This is a small, well-serviced Hotel surrounded by quiet woods with an atmosphere reminiscent of Karuizawa; though compact, it is well equipped and stocked with amenities. Dinner and breakfast are Japanese-style creative full-course meals, better suited to adults. Some Rooms feature private open-air baths, and there are also free private reservable baths, making it a good choice for guests who value privacy. The building is old, but filled with tasteful furnishings that create a charming ambiance. With only a few Rooms, the staff can provide attentive service to each party. Nights are very quiet, accompanied by the sounds of insects. There are two EV chargers (6 kW TerraCharge) in the guest-only parking area; if you drive an electric vehicle, it’s best to let them know in advance.

This was my second visit this year, and it’s soothing no matter when I come. The service strikes just the right balance of attentiveness and privacy, the rooms are spacious, and the meals keep evolving—overall, it’s a place with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. 　This time in particular, the breakfast—renewed since this spring—was outstanding. In contrast to the gorgeous French dinner, it’s a simple Japanese-style meal, but each dish is truly delicious. They’ve also changed how they cook the rice, and the finishing bowl topped with dashi was superb. 　I’m already looking forward to being impressed again on my next visit.

This is an inn I had been curious about for about a year, and I was finally able to make my long-awaited stay. At check-in, you kindly explained the history and culture of Ise-Kawasaki in great detail, which truly moved me. The Ise tea and salted yokan served to us were delicious, and the warm, attentive hospitality of the staff member who assisted us left a lasting impression. The room was a charming space where you could feel the breath of history—spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable. The beautiful garden view beyond the room was so captivating that I found myself gazing at it for ages. The amenities were also wonderful, including VMG’s familiar rice bran series and the bath additive “Ise no Misogi-yu.” What impressed me most was breakfast. The dishes, inspired by the tradition of “Shinsen,” offerings presented to the deities at the Grand Shrine, had deep, comforting flavors that reflected time-honored skill and spirit. As I savored them while feeling the region’s climate and history, I felt a profound sense of peace and healing. I also appreciated being able to enjoy Ise udon at breakfast—something I had missed during my trip—which was such a thoughtful touch. At check-out, you gladly took commemorative photos for us in front of the main building and warmly saw us off until we were out of sight; that moment remains vividly in my heart even now. It was clear that everyone on staff truly cherishes Ise’s history and culture. This stay reminded me of Japan’s precious sense of beauty—something easily forgotten amid everyday busyness—and made it an unforgettable experience. I would love to return again. After arriving at Nakamatsuya in Bessho Onsen, we first visited the nearby Kitamuki Kannon Hall before enjoying a bath. The water temperature was perfect, and we felt wonderfully warmed up before heading to the dinner venue. There, an unbelievable variety of matsutake dishes kept coming—more than I’ve ever had in my life. I’m truly glad we came here, and I’d love to visit again around this time next year.

I caused you a great deal of trouble, but everyone spoke to me so kindly that it truly helped me. The price is almost too low! The in-room lotion was my favorite brand, there were two sinks, and both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It was a shame there was no view from the open-air bath, but I found myself hoping—thinking from the owner’s perspective—that your service will continue just as it is so you won’t lose guests until the construction is finished. Even without a view from the window, this is a wonderful Ryokan. Thank you very much for everything.

[All-Inclusive] An Elegant Evening with an Authentic Teppanyaki Dinner and Free-Flow Drinks (Dinner & Breakfast Included) – Premium Twin Room Everything was wonderful. - Room: It was spacious, had a sofa, and we were able to relax comfortably. Having two sinks was also very convenient. However, I tripped on the step at the entrance to the washroom, so I hope this can be improved. - Dining: Every dish in the dinner course looked and tasted amazing. Drinks were free-flow with a glass-exchange system, so we enjoyed beer and sparkling wine. For breakfast, we could choose from three types of galettes, and they were delicious. Curry was also included, which would be great for those with a big appetite—our group doesn’t eat much, so we ended up feeling very full. - The lounge was also a wonderful space where we could relax comfortably. - There was also a large public bath—this was one of the main reasons we chose this property—and everything about it was excellent. We would definitely like to stay again.

Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality. We were thrilled to stay for the first time in a Japanese-style room with a jacuzzi, which is usually very hard to secure a Reservation, and my cousin and I were overjoyed. We could also admire the Mid-Autumn full moon through the large open picture window at the front—it was an unforgettable, moving moment. Throughout the property, we were impressed by the thoughtful touches everywhere: simple arrangements of wildflowers and fine pieces on display that we could enjoy as we walked to the restaurant and public bath. The moon-viewing décor in the lobby lounge, as well as the magnificent folding screen and large floral arrangement at the entrance, were all wonderful. Next time, I would love to visit with my husband and family, including my son and his wife. Thank you very much.

While waiting for the Shuttle Service to the station after check-out, they kindly offered cold drinks and showed thoughtful care in many ways, providing truly attentive hospitality. The meals were delicious, and the tableware was stylish—both the taste and presentation were very satisfying.
