I was worried because the reviews weren’t very good, but nothing really bothered me. In any case, it was inexpensive, the Room was spacious, and being surrounded by nature with fresh air was very refreshing. Since it was No Meals Included, we didn’t do a barbecue or anything like that, but there were lots of dogs and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Above all, the kids enjoyed it, so we were very satisfied.

I stayed with a breakfast-included plan. The lovely hostess warmly welcomed me and showed me to a clean and charming room, though it was a bit old. Walking through the entrance, I passed a hallway adorned with various antique furnishings, which were truly impressive. The bath was great, but it was a bit disappointing that the open-air bath was unavailable during the morning. Breakfast was carefully prepared dish by dish, with plenty of rice and mushrooms, and it was absolutely delicious. I was also delighted by the warm send-off at the end. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

Recommended by a gourmet friend, I stayed at this accommodation. Having lived in Eastern Hokkaido before, I had visited the surrounding area often but was not very familiar with Lake Kussharo. Curious about the place, I decided to visit and was immediately impressed by the stunning mountain views from the lodge. The rare snowfall for this region added to its charm this year. The experience of checking in via canoe or snowshoe from Lake Kussharo was truly memorable. The accommodation building featured facilities such as a sauna, cold bath, and barrel bath. It was delightful to cool off while enjoying the snowy scenery after using the sauna. For the first time, I also experienced tending a fireplace with firewood, which allowed me to spend mindful and relaxing moments. The meals were Chinese-inspired cuisine and absolutely delicious! The chef skillfully prepared luxurious ingredients like abalone and shark fin for an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you for kindly preparing additional mapo tofu as well—it was fantastic! Breakfast was equally exceptional. While having dinner, it started snowing outside; we appreciated how staff thoughtfully cleared snow just before we returned to our room in the accommodation building. Although it would be nice if improvements could be made regarding some minor points—such as whether or not the baths are onsen or addressing slight odors in rooms with toilets and showers—the overall experience far outweighed these small concerns. It left such an impression that I ended up making a summer reservation before leaving! This place is truly remarkable—I look forward to visiting again during another season for more unique experiences. Thank you so much for providing such precious memories!

It was a wonderfully relaxing space where we could truly unwind at a leisurely pace. The food was also delicious, and it was a time when we could fully experience Okinawa’s nature. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Surrounded by SHIRO products and nature, I was able to relax and unwind. I definitely want to visit again. The unpaved road on the way there made me a little uneasy, but once I arrived, it turned out to be part of the charm—an amazing space.

- The view is excellent, and the sea in front is generally calm as it faces the bay. - The living dining area is spacious, with stylish and large furnishings, allowing for a relaxing stay. - The amenities are well-provided, using the property's shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. High-end hairdryers are conveniently placed in each bathroom and room. - There are plenty of changes of room wear and towels, so there is no inconvenience. - Wi-fi was available without any issues. - The free drinks (shochu, beer, bottled tea and sparkling water, fruit juice, etc.) are well-stocked, and there is rosé wine and champagne in the cellar for a fee. - Depending on the length of stay, it may be necessary to purchase additional hot drinks such as coffee and tea. - The free food beef stew is delicious. - If self-catering, it is necessary to procure seasonings. Glasses, tableware, cooking utensils, and plastic wrap are provided. - There are no shops nearby, so a car is needed for shopping or dining out, but this allows for a quiet stay. - It takes about 10 minutes by car to the nearest supermarket. - The course by the visiting chef (for a fee) was very delicious, utilizing local ingredients. - The property is located down an alley, and the sign is placed close to the ground, making it easy to miss. Extra caution is needed, especially at night, as there are no streetlights in the area. - At night, the surroundings become completely dark, so if the weather is clear, you can see a beautiful starry sky from the terrace. - The beach in front of the property is almost exclusively for guests, but occasionally anglers come to the breakwater (the distance to the end of the breakwater is considerable, so it is not particularly bothersome). - If you put your feet in the sea or do SUP, you won't feel the cold, but if you participate in marine activities such as snorkeling, wearing a wetsuit is necessary.

Everything was perfect: a luxurious private space well worth the price, and attentive service with thoughtful care from the butler. I’ve stayed at several Shigira properties, but The Shigira was the best overall. That said, I have two suggestions: 1) If staying multiple nights, I’d like the in-room breakfast menu to change. 2) Since going to the beach is a given, I’d like a washing machine installed. That’s all. I plan to Reserve again next year, so I’d appreciate it if these points could be improved.

Rather than spending the trip staying inside a Hotel or Ryokan, I was able to fulfill every wish: enjoying delicious food in the great outdoors, taking in the mountains and starry skies, soaking in the Onsen, and truly refreshing both body and mind. The entire Facility was impeccably clean and comfortable, and above all, I was delighted by the staff’s warm hospitality. Many of them are young, but it was clear through every interaction how well trained and knowledgeable they are. Their thoughtful attention to detail made the stay enjoyable from start to finish—I’m so glad we came. With the wine pairing at dinner, we were able to enjoy a variety of wines, and the kinki (rockfish) acqua pazza was especially outstanding. The Shuttle Service from Nagano Station also made getting there worry-free, resulting in two very satisfying days. Thank you very much. I feel the Accommodation rate is well worth it. Next time, I’d love to visit with my son as well.

Among all the Hotels I have stayed at, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, this was my No.1 experience. The Room had a pleasant fragrance, a luxurious atmosphere, and an excellent interior design.

What’s fascinating about Nana’s philosophy is how deliberately it reduces “information density.” Even with just a one-night stay, I could clearly feel the Accommodation’s concept: 1) No excessive signage or posters inside 2) No filling the space with background music 3) Avoiding harsh lighting 4) Minimizing digital noise as much as possible Through the space, sound, light, and service, it conveyed the idea that “silence isn’t emptiness—it’s a state where only what’s necessary remains.” The staff were outstanding from the moment I pulled into the parking area until they saw me off the next morning. I believe this reflects an intentional design by the owners (a couple): creating a place to Clear people’s senses. 5) The main focus is not “people,” but “place” and “nature” → Prioritizing “what you feel” over “who made it.” 6) A commitment to completing the Accommodation as a “work” → Only three rooms; no adding more Facility features. No indiscriminate advertising. → A mindset of “only those who understand need to come,” aligned with traditional house restoration values. You could say this is for travelers whose purpose is to feel restored and re-centered: 7) Your body resets in the Onsen 8) Your senses reset through fire and food 9) Your mind resets through satoyama landscapes and an old folk house → Redefining travel from consumption to renewal. As tools for restoration, it offers free-flowing natural hot spring water, silence, an aesthetic space, and an Accommodation with high experiential value. → Not just “staying overnight,” but a trip where something changes. Nana’s philosophy feels almost perfectly aligned—its ideas and their realization overlap naturally. Among all the places I’ve stayed in Japan over the past few years, this was the best. In other words, choosing Nana—even for just one night—as a journey to re-center my senses and experience it as a complete work turned out exactly right. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

We ended up staying an extra two nights after the Nagaoka Fireworks. The location is very convenient for street food in Teradomari, fishing at the fishing port, and nearby beaches. The Facility itself is new and clean. The parking instructions were a bit hard to understand, but there is also parking in front of the Facility, and it seems fine to park there. The bath is not an Onsen, but if you look around, there are plenty of hot springs nearby. Highly recommended for international guests as well. We would love to stay again!

The Room was spotless and well maintained, so we had a very comfortable stay. The amenities and kitchenware were all provided—perfect! If you take the narrow path from the garden, there’s also a small beach. On the day we stayed, it was low tide, and we could even see small fish in the tide pools. The weather wasn’t great as the rainy season was starting early, but at night we could still see a beautiful starry sky through breaks in the clouds from the Room’s sky deck. They mentioned that since shell ginger flowers had started blooming, it might mean the rainy season was about to begin—and just as they predicted, it was officially announced the next day! We weren’t lucky with the weather this time, but we’ll come back again during the best season next time.

From the moment we arrived, this was a special entire-home rental Hotel that felt less like “staying overnight” and more like truly inhabiting the space. The view of Oku-Kawaguchiko through the large windows changed throughout the day: in the evening, a quiet lake surface with shadows of trees; at night, forest air with almost no sound; and in the morning, soft light streaming onto a misty lake. It was the kind of place where you just want to keep watching the scenery. The interior felt luxurious yet calming, with thoughtful details in everything from lighting and furniture to sound. It naturally made us want to slow down—cooking with a beer in hand, enjoying fresh air on the terrace after the sauna—and even while spending time together, there was an unhurried sense of space. What stood out most was the morning kayaking experience. Paddling out onto a quiet Lake Kawaguchi before many people were around felt incredible. The water was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains and forest. It felt less like sightseeing and more like we were floating alone in nature—easily my most memorable moment of this stay. The Facility side was also very comfortable: with well-stocked kitchenware and amenities, we could enjoy high-quality time without much preparation. This isn’t just an Accommodation for sleeping—it’s a place where the experience itself changes depending on the season and how you spend your time. Next time I’d love to do a Multiple Night Stay and soak up this atmosphere even more slowly.

This villa is run by a couple, and they were both very welcoming. Everything was clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. You can’t see Mt. Fuji from the Room, but from the terrace in the backyard you can enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji in all its grandeur. We had dinner at the adjacent restaurant run by the same couple; every dish was high quality and we were very satisfied.

We stayed during Golden Week. Even though all the other Rooms were fully booked, we could hardly hear any noise from nearby, and we were able to spend a peaceful time surrounded by the quiet forest. Perhaps it was a season with very few insects, as they didn’t bother us at all, and the Facility was clean and very comfortable. Even the shampoo in the bath had a forest-like scent, and we felt that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. Thank you very much. After reading through all of the Room booklet again, I realized that shared Facilities such as the washing machine were located elsewhere, and I wasn’t sure how to clean up properly after using the campfire. It would be reassuring if you could add a short note on the red paper that was originally inside the fire pit grill saying that cleanup instructions are written in the booklet. Also, since it seemed to assume everything should be returned to its original state, I wasn’t sure how far we needed to go in putting things back—such as dishcloths or used towels. It would feel even more reassuring if there were a note like: “Please place used cloths and towels in the laundry basket.” We would love to stay again. We made wonderful memories with our family.

After a whirlwind stretch of busy days, I chose this place for a long-awaited day off—and it was absolutely the right decision. The most outstanding feature was the breathtaking view from the Room. Simply taking in the scenery, I could feel my built-up fatigue Clear away. The entire Facility was also impeccably clean, and it was clear that everything is carefully maintained down to the smallest details. What helped me personally was having a spacious layout with a kitchen included. Despite the high-quality setting, I could do simple cooking and eat whenever I wanted, allowing me to relax as if I were living there. This is a wonderful Accommodation where you can truly recharge your energy.

The lodge surrounded by nature was very comfortable. I was especially soothed by the greenery visible from the back window. The staff were also friendly and wonderful. Every dish was delicious, made with local ingredients—like a salad of freshly picked vegetables from the garden. The tableware and presentation were beautiful as well, and you could really sense the chef’s taste. Honestly, I was surprised to find food this good in Hokkaido. Breakfast in an atmosphere that felt like the French countryside was particularly outstanding. We had a truly enjoyable time—thank you very much. I’d love to visit again in a different season. If I had to mention one concern... It was a bit difficult that there was no handrail on the lodge stairs. My socks slipped and I fell from the last step onto the floor (haha). I’m glad it wasn’t my elderly mother instead. I also thought it might be better to have a handrail in the bathroom as well.

December is a busy season. Also, being sensitive to the cold, I tend to hesitate to go outside. However, I decided to thoroughly search travel sites. Words like wood stove, sauna, and bonfire caught my eye, and I chose 2gether foret! I was surprised when I arrived! There was a style that exceeded my imagination and suited my taste. Luxurious time spent in the Room. It was my first experience with a wood stove, but it warmed me from the core, and even someone like me who is sensitive to the cold was very satisfied. In the sauna, I enjoyed the experience of relaxing on the deck while gazing at the trees outside... it was pleasant. I was impressed by how wonderful winter activities could feel. Next, I want to experience how to spend time in extreme cold... (laughs) Thank you very much. I will visit again.

This spacious maisonette-style accommodation is comfortable even for four adults. Mornings are especially memorable—enjoying coffee on the terrace while listening to the sound of the waves. The beach is within walking distance, and taking the picnic set provided in the cabin made our time by the sea even better. It was a relaxing stay that let us forget the hustle and bustle of city life.

I stayed here on my first trip to Ishigaki Island. The Room’s private pool and ocean view were breathtaking. At night, the stars were clearly visible, and the sound of the waves was quiet and soothing, making it very comfortable to relax. The Room’s design was also thoughtfully done and wonderful.
