This was our 21st stay, and our first time visiting in August. Not only did we feel summer in the surrounding nature—the lush greenery sparkling in the strong sunlight and the chorus of cicadas—but also throughout the Hotel, from the flower art and interior décor to each dish showcasing seasonal ingredients such as sole and asparagus. We also fully enjoyed FUJIYA’s exquisite French cuisine, including ris de veau and mushrooms baked in a pastry case, double consommé soup, Japanese beef fillet Rossini-style, and Crêpes Suzette. My son enjoyed both the outdoor pool unique to this season and the indoor pool, while I relaxed at the spa (Onsen large public bath: indoor bath, open-air bath, sauna), listening to the cicadas falling like a shower. My definition of a classic hotel is “an irreplaceable space-time where you can experience warm hospitality that welcomes guests like family—within an atmosphere of tradition and dignity, surrounded by nature away from the bustle of town.” Fujiya Hotel is truly THE classic hotel—a leading presence among classic hotels. I hope to continue building precious memories with my son at Fujiya Hotel through every season. Thank you very much to all the staff.

The staff were incredibly kind, and I was truly impressed—I’d give 10 stars if I could. Every staff member showed outstanding hospitality, and I even wondered how they could work so hard. The Room was spotless, the amenities were well stocked, and the view was amazing. Even though it was a short stay, it was one wonderful experience after another. Thank you very much.

The spacious Room was very comfortable. We could see a little of the ocean from the Room, and it was wonderful at sunset. The meals offered a wide variety, and we were very satisfied. The hospitality of the staff who welcomed us was also delightful, making our stay truly memorable. I also accidentally left something behind, but you promptly delivered it to me, for which I am truly grateful. Thank you very much for everything.

Even though I don’t swim in the sea, I travel solo year-round in search of gourmet Accommodations near the coast (for the food and scenery). I was delighted to be upgraded to a sea-view Room. It was a Japanese-style Room, but it also had a leather sofa and ottoman, so I could stretch out and relax while gazing at the ocean. When I woke up around 5:00, I was able to watch a beautiful sunrise from the Room. There is a calm inner-sea beach right in front of the Accommodation, and there are showers as well—great for families with small children. The meals were outstanding, featuring an abundance of local specialties. My main goal was Wakasa-guji (tilefish), but it was even more delicious than I imagined—the Wakasa-guji ochazuke was exceptional. And the Matsunaga rice was unbelievably good (probably the best I’ve ever had). I didn’t use the public bath and used the shower in my Room instead, but I loved that the shampoo and conditioner were Hokurokusousui—one of my favorite brands—and it helped me relax. Recently there have been more Accommodations renovated from wooden buildings, but some noise—voices and footsteps—is unavoidable. You can often hear children as well. It’s not exactly quiet. However, more than making up for that, I felt each staff member’s hospitality and way of interacting with guests was wonderful. In particular: the woman with glasses who assisted me at check-in; the woman at breakfast (I’m sorry—I forgot your name); and one of the male staff members who kindly gave me helpful advice for sightseeing in Obama after check-out. Thanks to them, it became more than just an overnight stay—I had a chance to learn even more about Obama, making this trip extremely satisfying. I heard that midwinter is especially good for grouper, pufferfish, and Echizen crab. As transportation access improves from here on out, this will be an Accommodation you’ll want to visit even more. Next time it would be perfect if I could borrow a firmer pillow!! Please make that happen on my next visit!! (I can’t sleep if a pillow doesn’t suit me.) Last year, I invited some friends and stayed here, and this year we were able to visit again around the same time because they really wanted to come back. I have visited several times for family events, and we were welcomed with the same warm smiles as always. The delicious, heartfelt meals, the well-kept and comfortable Room, and the bath that felt truly refreshing made for a wonderful stay. It’s already on our schedule for next year too—we’re looking forward to it. Thank you very much.

Our family of three stayed here. The guest room with an open-air bath had an amazing view of the trees through the window. The meals were delicious, and we loved the post-bath ice pops, late-night inari sushi, morning coffee service, board games, and the excellent loan services such as a rotating hair dryer and a NanoCare hair dryer. It was relaxing and quiet, and we were able to unwind from everyday fatigue. The Onsen water was also wonderful. Highly recommended Accommodation.

Although it was my first stay, the price was affordable and I was very satisfied with the meals, the Onsen, and the location. It was a little out of the way, so it felt like being in the forest and I could relax at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much.

Before our stay, the staff communicated with us by email and kindly adjusted the meals so our children were satisfied. The bath was also excellent, with a jacuzzi and a waterfall-style shower. The service was outstanding from start to finish. When we left, they even waved us off as we drove away, and we departed the Ryokan feeling truly welcomed. We would definitely like to stay here again when visiting this area. Thank you very much—we made wonderful memories.

We chose the Umitamago Room. There were lots of plush toys in all sizes, and the kids were thrilled! They tucked a big walrus plush into one futon and slept next to mom. While drifting off, they said, “Let’s come again.” The changing area was spacious, with a large mirror and bright lighting—very easy to use. I used to think Hotel towels were limited to one bath towel and one face towel per person and not very absorbent, but here we had one bath towel and two face towels each, and they were nicely absorbent. Both the front desk staff and the dining staff were kind to our children—everyone was wonderful. Meals included dinner and breakfast buffets, and both were delicious! If I had to ask for one thing, it would be a small toothbrush for kids. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again!

This time, our large family of eight stayed to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. Our Room was upgraded, the meals were delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly—we truly enjoyed our one-night stay. Finally, the view from the Room was amazing.

We stayed here as a couple during the Obon holidays. Even though it was the hottest time of midsummer, Tenkawa Village was wonderfully cool—a top summer retreat in Kansai where we could stay comfortable without using the Room air conditioner and without breaking a sweat. We had long admired the charm of Dorogawa Onsen and had wanted to stay there at least once, and choosing Hanaya Tokubei was absolutely the right decision. The whole town has a lovely atmosphere, but Tokubei stands out for its especially distinctive and tasteful building. Because there are few guest Rooms with private indoor baths in the area, we stayed in “Higashi no Tenku” with an indoor bath. The view is mostly of the courtyard, so if you are used to resort-style Onsen facilities it may not exceed expectations. Still, considering this is traditionally an Accommodation used by ascetics, we felt it was a true luxury and enjoyed it. The meals were delicious Japanese cuisine featuring plenty of local ingredients, with thoughtful touches throughout that kept our Multiple Night Stay from ever feeling repetitive. We were completely full but couldn’t bear to leave anything behind—and finished every last bite. Spending time on the veranda at dusk with a beer in hand while watching people pass by was simply wonderful. After sunset, strolling around the area in yukata is also great fun. Wherever you walk, the lantern lights feel magical, and Tokubei lends out portable lanterns as well. It was like stepping back into a period drama. There were also foreign staff members, and they were genuinely kind and attentive—we truly appreciated it. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again. Highly recommended if you are sightseeing in Dorogawa Onsen.

This was my first visit to Kamikochi and my first stay overnight. The location is excellent—just 30 seconds from Kappa Bridge—and the building is very clean throughout. The dinner and breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, and we were very satisfied. Neither my companion nor I drink alcohol, but there was a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks as well as craft beer. We toasted with a Shine Muscat sparkling drink. There is no TV in the Room, which encouraged us to go to bed early and fully enjoy our stay surrounded by nature. If the weather is good, you can also enjoy the starry sky.

On my first visit to Lake Hamana in 50 years, I stayed at Lake Hamana Auberge Quatre Saisons, and the staff’s hospitality was outstanding. The French cuisine was exceptional, and the wine selected by the sommelier was perfect. I would love to make time to stay again on my next trip.

We visited as a family with our older children and their friends, along with our younger child. The older kids enjoyed SUP in the sea and the sauna, while the younger one fully enjoyed the pool. Since we had several boys with big appetites, we had a BBQ dinner using ingredients we brought with us. The seasonings and cooking utensils were well stocked, so we were able to prepare and enjoy our meal without any inconvenience. All of the staff were incredibly kind, and unlike many other places there weren’t lots of small rules or restrictions. They also kindly accommodated our requests, which made our stay very comfortable.\nThe amenities were high quality (including N organic), and the hair dryer and hair care items were all from ReFa, which my older daughter and I happily used.\nIn the morning we could even see Mt. Fuji across the sea—the views were simply amazing—and our whole family had a wonderful time. The only downside was that at bedtime, on both the first and second floors, the emergency exit signs were bright and a bit dazzling, making it slightly hard to sleep. Still, everything else was so great that we would definitely love to visit again. Thank you very much!

While looking for an Accommodation on the way from Ise to the Kumano Kodo, I found this place. As the Reviews said, it was a simple yet very good Accommodation. I enjoyed the instant miso soup at night and in the morning, and the breakfast bento and coffee were also delicious. The staff were very friendly as well.

A delicious seasonal full-course meal, even for solo travelers. A luxurious stay with only one group per day. And it’s reasonably priced. The Onsen was free-flowing and felt wonderful. An 11:00 AM checkout was also a welcome bonus. I regretted not booking a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could relax in peace, like staying at a private villa with only two Rooms. The chef’s cuisine was truly delicious—everything handmade with creative touches using local ingredients, beautifully presented and easy to enjoy. We were completely satisfied and enjoyed every dish. The staff also shared lots of great recommendations in Nasu, including tasty bakeries, drinks, and sightseeing spots, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. There was an alcoholic drink made with Tochiotome strawberries—I've forgotten the name, but I’d like to look for it next time I visit Nasu.

Following last year’s lunch visit, we stayed overnight this time. We chose the Plan that includes the Moss Forest guided tour. The moss observation tour offered not only explanations about moss, but also insights into the history of Shirakoma Pond and environmental conservation, which was very informative. The cape gooseberry cheesecake served at tea time after the tour was also delicious. It’s a great-value, enjoyable tour that I highly recommend. Of course, breakfast and dinner during our stay were plentiful as well. Everything was truly delicious. The new building was nothing like the image of an old mountain lodge—it was very comfortable. The bath in particular soothed our hiking fatigue, and we really appreciated it. Next time, we’d like to visit in a different season.

Everything was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. They provided drinks and sweets, and we really felt their hospitality. The Room and bath were stylish, and I think they would be popular with younger guests as well. There were also plenty of amenities provided. I was surprised to find the same shampoo and conditioner my daughter uses. The private dog run was spacious, and our dog was happy running around. It’s within walking distance of the station, and there’s a convenience store nearby. It was a wonderful Accommodation—thank you very much. Thank you for arranging the beds for three guests.

We visited as a couple with our preschool-aged child and small dog. We’ve stayed at about ten dog-friendly Accommodations so far, but this was the most satisfying trip we’ve ever had! You were kind to both our child and our dog, and it became more than just a place to stay—it became part of our wonderful travel memories. Our child is a very picky eater, and we always struggle with meals while traveling, but you listened to our requests and specially prepared a menu for us. We were truly touched—both sorry for the trouble and deeply grateful. It helped us so much. The dog run also had soft, fluffy grass, and our dog happily ran around every day. It made us want to live in Nasu. Highly recommended Accommodation! Thank you very much!!
