The house, nestled in the forest, was quiet and perfect for a restful retreat. The robatayaki and wild boar hot pot were also exceptionally delicious.

It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but the scenery along the way is so beautiful that getting there is truly enjoyable. The moment I arrived at the Accommodation and stepped inside, I was genuinely moved by the wonderful atmosphere. Everywhere you look feels like a scene from a drama or novel—surrounded by beautiful architecture and furnishings, I was able to fully enjoy an extraordinary escape. The entire property was also impeccably clean, making my stay extremely comfortable. From my Room, I could gaze out at lush greenery, and the soothing sound of the river was so relaxing that I found myself listening for ages and losing track of time. The baths are private-use only (a large bath and a smaller bath), so I never had to share with other guests. Being able to soak in complete privacy and unwind without any hesitation was something I truly appreciated. And as for the meals—I chose a Plan with both dinner and breakfast included, and both were absolutely outstanding. For dinner, we went to Otowasanso for kaiseki cuisine. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the dashi flavors were exceptional; I was continuously impressed from start to finish by these delicate dishes unique to Japan. The attendant who explained each course was warm and attentive throughout, which made it an especially happy experience. Breakfast was served on the second floor of Meitokuan. Freshly cooked rice, rolled omelet, grilled salmon, miso soup—each item was simple yet carefully prepared, leaving me feeling satisfied in both body and mind. Both dinner and breakfast were so wonderful that I honestly wished those moments would never end. If you stay at this Accommodation, I highly recommend choosing a Plan that includes both dinner and breakfast—you won’t regret it. Lastly, this was truly a lovely Accommodation filled with thoughtful attention to detail and heartfelt hospitality beyond what I can fully describe. I would love to visit again. The moment I opened the door, I couldn't help but exclaim at the sense of freedom! The stylish and extraordinary atmosphere made me excited, and I had an enjoyable time throughout my stay. The large projector screen and excellent sound system were particularly impressive. The sound quality was so good that it felt like being at a live concert, and playing my favorite music at high volume, combined with the quality of the accommodation, made my heart race! The spacious grounds and the privacy from neighboring houses allowed for a unique way to enjoy the accommodation. Having an Onsen was a delightful bonus, as I could enjoy it as many times as I wanted at my preferred timing. I even woke up early in the morning, just like at a Ryokan, to soak in the Onsen. I had bought some bread from a nearby bakery for breakfast, and enjoying it with coffee while gazing at the garden was a blissful moment. Although I didn’t bring a dog, there was no pet smell, so I would recommend this accommodation even for those without pets, as long as they don’t have animal allergies. If I have another chance to visit the Izu Highlands, I would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!

This was our first stay, and we visited with our dog for one night as a group of four. The building is new and very clean, with a well-equipped full kitchen and a spacious layout including the living area, making for a wonderful stay. The non-slip flooring with underfloor heating gave us great peace of mind when traveling with our dog, and we felt the Facility was thoughtfully designed from a dog owner’s perspective. From the parking area through the entrance to the front door, there is an approximately 330 m² lawn dog run in the garden—an incredibly open and freeing space for dogs. Our dog happily ran around while getting some much-needed exercise. It’s also at a convenient distance from central Karuizawa, and Tsuruya Supermarket is less than 10 minutes away by car, which was very handy. One request: behind the outdoor AC unit on the right side of the entrance is a deck space that connects directly to the bathroom (as shown in the photo), but there is a small gap underneath the deck. Our small dog managed to slip through and nearly got out, so we would appreciate it if this could be modified so pets cannot get through. Because it’s located at a higher elevation as well, it was an excellent place to escape Tokyo’s extreme summer heat—we would love to stay again!

I was worried because the Reviews I checked in advance were low, but I’m very satisfied. The Room was spacious, and the view toward Zenkoji Temple and the night scenery were amazing. The amenities were well stocked, and both the open-air bath and indoor bath were great. Since it was that time of year when the Room heating wasn’t on, it was cold, so I contacted the front desk and they brought me a fan heater. There were some stains and dirt on the carpet, and the amenities didn’t feel particularly luxurious, but at this price it’s more than enough. It seems like meal ratings are very low, but since my stay was No Meals Included, I can’t comment. If you go down about 10 minutes there’s a convenience store, and beyond that there’s an AEON mall, popular supermarkets, chain restaurants, and ramen shops—so even with No Meals Included there’s no problem. I’ll stay here again next year!!

The property was thoroughly cleaned, and the futons and sheets were very clean as well.

I was drawn back by the incredibly charming building and the warm, welcoming interior, and I stayed here again. Not only that, but with its comfort, well-equipped Facility, and the wonderful personalities of the owner couple, it’s a place that truly makes me want to return. Last time I traveled solo; this time we stayed as a couple, and my husband was very happy too. On Yakushima there are surprisingly few Accommodations where you can relax at your own pace without worrying about others, but Morinokokage is a place where you can truly unwind. The Room has its own private bath and toilet, which is also a great plus—you can use them whenever you like. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy nature while gently swaying in a hammock and spend a truly luxurious time. Separate top-and-bottom pajamas and thoughtful amenities. Plus, the laundry and dryer are free to use, which is an extremely helpful service for longer stays or for those going trekking. A clean, comfortable—and irresistibly cute—Accommodation that naturally brings a smile to your face. When I visit Yakushima again, I would love to stay here once more. Thank you very much.

It was our first glamping BBQ as a couple, and the staff provided very thorough explanations, making it an enjoyable and excellent accommodation experience. The private bath option and unexpected surprises like fireworks after dinner were wonderful. The facility and scenery were beautiful, making it a very comfortable stay.

After sightseeing in Kamikochi, we drove and enjoyed a relaxing Onsen as a couple. The open-air bath in the special Room was located in a spacious garden, allowing us to spend time at ease. The Room was also large with beautiful decor, providing a comfortable stay. We would love to visit again.

We stayed here for our summer family trip to visit Aquas! The Room and Facility were clean, stylish, and relaxing. The meals were delicious, and we also appreciated the free drinks! The kids enjoyed the pool and fireworks, and at night we even saw shooting stars. We made wonderful memories!

We stayed with two families! We made a Reservation for the rock-bath cottage, and it was very spacious with a wonderful natural wood scent. We used the river and the pool, so we wanted to hang our swimsuits in the Room, but there wasn’t a good place to dry them. It would be helpful to have a simple drying rack on the balcony. We chose the BBQ plan and brought extra meat thinking it might not be enough, but it was much more filling than expected and we couldn’t finish it! The rock bath was also spacious, and the kids were thrilled. Thank you very much.

The maisonette-style room instantly lifted our spirits the moment we walked in. The view of Mt. Fuji from the bath was also spectacular. However, one thing: the cleaning wasn’t thorough. There was trash left on the balcony, and we even found potato snack crumbs under the cushion of the massage chair.

The interior had been nicely renovated. Some trash from the previous guest was left behind, so the cleaning was a bit disappointing, but we were still able to spend a comfortable stay in the spacious Room. The Onsen also has great water. All of the staff were kind and provided courteous service. The meals were fairly standard but tasty, and we left feeling full. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Last year, we had to cancel the Reservation just before our stay as 2 out of 7 people caught the flu. This time, we could only make a one-night Reservation due to limited Room availability, but it was worth it. The meals exceeded expectations—mini osechi, seafood, simmered dishes, tempura, handmade desserts—all in portions more than enough for big eaters. The rice was very delicious and self-serve style allowed us to enjoy as much as we wanted without hesitation. Breakfast included special tofu and was also very tasty. The bath offered a view of snowy landscapes; the water temperature felt slightly lukewarm but perfect for relaxing comfortably. Although the Accommodation has an older feel to it, everything was kept very clean and tidy. The staff were all kind and welcoming. We wish we could have stayed for two nights!

I wasn’t even sure what “KKR” was at first, but I never imagined that it could be this affordable, this delicious, and this comfortable based on the price when I made the Reservation. The two front desk staff members at check-in were extremely polite, and the dining staff were truly kind and attentive both at night and in the morning. I wouldn’t recommend it to people who only value new, luxury Accommodation, but for an ordinary person like me, finding an Accommodation this satisfying for just 13,000 yen these days might be rare. I’d love to stay again someday. My heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful staff. Thank you very much.

The accommodation has been renovated, and both the rooms and dining area are very clean. The cleaning is thorough, providing a sense of cleanliness, and the meals were satisfying. I especially enjoyed the soy milk hot pot. The onsen can be reserved for private use at night, which was also great. It’s quiet with natural surroundings, and the location near Yoro Valley is excellent. Since there are almost no amenities provided, I brought my own cosmetics and coffee. As an accommodation where you can relax in an onsen for around 10,000 yen per person, it offers high satisfaction. I would love to visit again next time and try staying in a room along the stream.

The best value in Chichibu—an Onsen is available next door. The sheets are fluffy, and the Facility has been beautifully renovated. The Room is clean, stylish, and a Japanese-Western blend, and each Room is named after a famous author. I stayed in the Junichiro Tanizaki Room. Meals are bring-your-own; you can use the refrigerator and kitchen. Cup noodles and ice cream are also available for purchase. It was extremely comfortable, and I would definitely stay again!!! Check-in and check-out are self-service; the key is kept in a locker at the front desk.

This was my first trip to Chichibu and Nagatoro. The lobby was gorgeous, filled with green marble. The Room was luxurious, spotless, and wonderful. The restaurant had a great view, with Mount Hodosan faintly visible—truly spectacular. The food was exquisite, including a Japanese-style hamburger steak made without the four harmful ingredients and fresh sashimi. The large public bath was spacious and very clean. The water temperature was on the hotter side, which warmed me up and helped me relax. I also appreciate that you took photos for us at the end. It’s a Hotel I would love to stay at again.

We stayed with our 3-year-old child. Since we were in the LOCA THE CLASS Room, there was a sauna in the basement and a large bath that could fit about 4–5 people. Including the post-bath relaxation area, it was very spacious and thoughtfully designed. It was great that even with a child, we could bathe comfortably. There was also a refrigerator in the changing room, stocked with plenty of bottled water. It was very helpful to be able to drink cold water immediately after bathing or using the sauna without having to go up to the living room on the first floor. We didn’t use them, but there were also powdered drinks provided for before and after the sauna. The living room was spacious as well, and there were two bedrooms. The Japanese-style Room had a tatami area that became almost full once two futons were laid out, which made it feel safe and comfortable for our child at bedtime. On the other hand, there was one disappointing incident during our stay. Early in the morning, the fire alarm suddenly went off with a loud siren throughout the Accommodation. We were later told it was due to an accidental operation in another Room, but it took about an hour for security staff to check and reset everything. During that time, the alarm kept sounding continuously, so we evacuated with our child to a relatively quiet terrace. Afterward, an operator contacted us to confirm what had happened and asked whether we would still be able to make checkout on time. Since it overlapped with breakfast and getting ready in the morning, we explained it would be difficult and they extended our checkout by about 30 minutes. We appreciate their consideration; however, we had hoped to spend a relaxing morning (including enjoying another bath), so that part was unfortunate. I also saw other Reviews on different sites mentioning issues related to fire alarms. As it seems many guests come from overseas as well, I would appreciate it if you could consider measures to prevent recurrence—such as providing clearer instructions at check-in on how to handle fire alarms. Overall, both the Facility and Room itself were extremely comfortable—this is a wonderful Accommodation that is easy for families to enjoy.
