We checked in early and were able to relax until dinner. The meals were beautifully presented, with great taste and satisfying portions. The timing of each course was also excellent. We always felt that the staff were quietly looking out for us. We hardly ran into other guests, so we could truly enjoy our own time. The only issue was that when returning to the Room at night, it was dark near the entrance and difficult to unlock the door. We would definitely like to stay again.

Our family stayed in Shimizu for two nights. Needless to say, the Accommodation building itself was wonderful, but the atmosphere of the entire surrounding village was just as charming. Even before our stay, we started with a hands-on sweets-making experience using agar, and after check-out we wrapped up with a tour of Irisen’s agar factory. Our children loved agar so much that even after returning home from our trip, they’ve been enjoying making desserts every week with the dried agar we bought there. The local regional cuisine we ordered through catering was also delicious, and it was a real treat to enjoy dishes freshly prepared in the kitchen from early morning. It’s a place we’d love to visit again in another season.

Based on past Reviews, it looked great, so I decided to book. It’s been a few years since I last stayed at a pension. It was my first time in Himekidaira, and there seemed to be quite a lot of pensions (with a few closed here and there). There are quite a few stairs from the parking lot to the entrance, so it might be a little tough if you have heavy luggage. The Room we stayed in was a deluxe twin with an en-suite bath and toilet. From the photos I thought there wouldn’t be a washlet toilet seat, but it was included, which was nice. The Room was spacious, and since it was also a corner room, the view surrounded by trees felt very relaxing. The interior design is tasteful and everything is clean. There are two private baths; both are the same size, and we were able to unwind in the soft water of the artificial Onsen. The dinner dining area had even more wonderful decor. Each table has fabric partitions, giving it a semi-private feel. It also helped that each person can choose an all-you-can-drink option for beverages. Just as the Reviews said, every dish was delicious, with more volume than expected. For breakfast you can choose an egg dish, and the bread is thick-cut toast. Several drinks and yogurt are self-serve. In short, we were simply impressed by how stylish and spotless everything throughout the property was. The owner couple were kind as well—it’s easy to see why they have so many repeat guests. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. It’s not somewhere we can visit casually due to the distance, but we’d love to return when traveling in Shinshu again.

Thank you for your hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would love to stay at again. It is located right in front of Lake Shirakaba, and we really enjoyed a quiet early-morning walk by the lake. We came to see the daylilies, but there were plenty of other things to enjoy as well. The owner couple were warm and welcoming, which made us feel at ease. The dinner staff were also efficient and cheerful, making our time even more enjoyable.

I stayed here after hiking. The Accommodation doesn’t have an Onsen, but there are plenty of Onsens nearby, so it wasn’t a problem. It’s an old building, but it was very clean, and the hostess was friendly and easy to talk to, so I could relax even as a solo traveler. It’s rare to find this price with breakfast and dinner included. I’m satisfied.

The room had been renovated and was very comfortable. The open-air bath was a good size and very enjoyable. Above all, the quality of the hot spring water was excellent. Dinner felt a bit too plentiful. The yakiniku was charcoal-grilled, but the indoor ventilation wasn’t strong enough, so the room filled with smoke and it was quite difficult; I would have preferred options like grilling in the kitchen or teppanyaki-style cooking on a ceramic plate with solid fuel. I didn’t expect much sashimi in Yufuin, and at my age I’m tired of typical Japanese kaiseki dishes such as chawanmushi and tempura.

The hot spring water quality was excellent, and since bathing is limited to up to five guests at a time, we were able to soak and relax at our own pace. The soothing sound of the river was very calming, and we could unwind while feeling close to nature.

Having had a great impression last time, I decided to return after several years, and my positive feelings have only grown. First, the accommodation is impeccably maintained and cleaned in every corner, making for a very pleasant stay. This level of care is not easy to achieve. The meals are heartfelt and allow you to fully enjoy the bounty of the sea. Additionally, while the panoramic bath with an ocean view is not an onsen, it can be enjoyed in the morning as well and was spotlessly clean. The guest rooms and bedding are simple as it is a guesthouse, but yukata robes and bath towels are provided. It may not suit those seeking luxury ryokan services; however, for travelers looking for an enjoyable trip at a reasonable price, I wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation.

This was my first stay. Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of side dishes and generous portions, which was great. The meat in particular was delicious. From the Room, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan. The bath is not an Onsen, but it is spacious, and morning bathing is also available. It was disappointing that the Accommodation did not have a refrigerator and only provided 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner.

The meals were high quality and very enjoyable. However, the private spa had no security measures, which was very frightening. I was worried because the door could not be locked, and when I left it was half open, so it seems someone entered the changing area while I was bathing. Even if access is time-slot based, I would like the door to be lockable.

Despite a last-minute reservation, we were fortunate to have our room upgraded, and we were deeply touched by this thoughtful gesture upon arrival. With only five rooms, the accommodation offers a luxurious and meticulously maintained environment. Even though it was shortly after the Tohoku earthquake, the area was completely unaffected, providing a serene and enriching experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the onsen. The natural hot spring water is free of any additives or heating adjustments, offering what can only be described as "miraculously perfect temperature" that warms you to your core. The private onsen experience with fresh flowing water is a unique charm of an accommodation of this scale. Meals were also exceptional, featuring creative dishes made with local ingredients—well worth the trip. Young staff members actively share updates through social media, showcasing their passion for revitalizing the onsen area. Although it’s a bit far from Kanto, I look forward to visiting again during bamboo shoot season next time!

I visited again to enjoy the sauna. As always, this pension is very comfortable. The dog-friendly Room is spacious and cozy. The sukiyaki with horse meat for dinner was delicious, with tender meat. I had a delightful conversation with a couple from Niigata during the meal. Hearing about their efforts until the smelt fishing season opens made me appreciate being able to enjoy safe and fun smelt fishing. I plan to visit again at the end of the year and next year for smelt fishing!

We had a wonderful time with our beloved dog, Hana! The bath was great! Dinner was very filling!! Breakfast was delicious too!!! We’ll definitely stay again.

This was my first time staying at a temple Accommodation, and I was truly impressed by the cheerful and courteous guidance from all the staff. The matcha and sweets were delicious, and the Room—along with the toilet and washbasin area—had been renovated and was very clean. The Onsen is not free-flowing, but it is highly alkaline with a high pH; it warmed me thoroughly and left my skin smooth. The open-air bath can also be reserved privately by Room, so my spouse and I could enjoy it together in peace. The meals were an outstanding tofu kaiseki course, all incredibly delicious. The salt-grilled ayu was also wonderful—I even tried eating the head for the first time and could really enjoy its aroma and crispy texture. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The owner is a lead priest, kindly conducted morning prayers for us, and even gave us a protective talisman at the end—I was very satisfied. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay—another visit. My spouse and I really enjoyed our time here. The Shika-no-Yu hot spring was wonderfully relaxing and very comfortable; we ended up staying in for a long time. The meals were delicious, with seasonal ingredients, and the Hanawa beef was incredibly generous in portion yet so tender we finished it easily. The freshly cooked rice for breakfast was also excellent—we ate the whole serving (one go). The starry sky visible from the Room window was unbelievably beautiful and truly moving. You don’t need to watch TV at all here. The comfort is outstanding. Thank you very much. We will be back again.

This was Hawaiians’ first glamping Facility, and it was fantastic—from the Hawaiians pools to the glamping tents that stayed ice-cold with strong air conditioning. The showers and toilets were well equipped, and we could also use the large public bath in the clubhouse. Since this glamping site is built within a golf course, both the facilities and service were flawless. However, depending on your family’s situation: there are lots of insects! That’s part of camping/glamping, but our family doesn’t do well with bugs—our older daughter cried hard, and we couldn’t even focus on the BBQ. There are so many that bug spray doesn’t really help. From palm-sized longhorn beetles to what might have been scarab beetles we’d never seen in Kanto—if you understand this before staying, it’s an amazing location.

The Room was clean and comfortable. The meals, handmade by the hostess, were very delicious and offered in such generous portions that we couldn't finish them all. We were able to enjoy our meals together with our beloved dog, making it a pet-friendly Hotel. It was an unforgettable stay. Thank you very much!

Perhaps because it was before the Obon holidays, it wasn’t crowded, and we were able to enjoy the Onsen almost as if it were private, which made for a very relaxing stay. Although the water was clear and colorless, black mineral deposits formed in it, and it warmed us up wonderfully. The Room was well cleaned, the meals were delicious, and we were very satisfied overall. It was a bit disappointing that there is a step between the lobby and the elevator to the guest rooms. This is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again when visiting Fukushima.

I stayed here on my first trip to Ishigaki Island. The Room’s private pool and ocean view were breathtaking. At night, the stars were clearly visible, and the sound of the waves was quiet and soothing, making it very comfortable to relax. The Room’s design was also thoughtfully done and wonderful.
