A wonderful private rental Accommodation on Maejima Island, about a 5-minute ferry ride from Ushimado Port. The Room and Facility were spotless, and the bath offered spectacular views of the calm Seto Inland Sea and a beautiful sky. The meal was also excellent—super-fresh sashimi, plenty of small side dishes, and delicious grilled kama—with generous portions that left us completely full. Beautiful sunflowers were in full bloom on the island as well. It was a relaxing trip to Okayama. We’d love to visit again in spring or autumn. Thank you!

We stayed as a family of five (myself, my wife, and our three children) with a Plan that included admission to Nasu Highland Park plus the all-you-can-ride Fantasy Pass. On the morning of our stay, we received the tickets from the owner and enjoyed Nasu Highland Park to the fullest until closing time. After that, we headed to this pension, which is very close—about a 5-minute drive away. When we arrived, the owner and his wife welcomed us warmly, and our travel fatigue melted away. The connecting Room with two adjoining rooms was such a treat for families—our kids were excited saying, “This is different from usual!” The private family bath we reserved before dinner used groundwater, and it warmed us through just like an Onsen—so relaxing and comfortable. Dinner was a course meal, and everything was truly delicious—we were completely satisfied. The highlight was the steak served with a yogurt-based sauce; both my wife and I were genuinely impressed. Rice refills were free, and it was so good that we couldn’t help getting seconds. After dinner there was an impressive variety of desserts—rare cheesecake, caramel pudding, chocolate cake, fruit, and more—and enjoying them with chai tea was perfect. At night it was very quiet around the Accommodation. After the kids fell asleep, my wife and I could relax together. One of our children had a nosebleed at night and slightly stained the sheets. When I told them about it, they smiled and said kindly: “No problem at all. Thank you for letting us know.” They mentioned that some guests leave without saying anything even if something gets dirty; moments like this really showed how warm-hearted they are. Breakfast the next morning featured freshly baked bread with dips and dressings—hearty portions that left us full from early on. We took it easy until close to checkout time before heading home. When we left, they saw us off until our car disappeared from view—it made us feel truly welcomed. Our kids were happy they spoke to them too; even after returning home they kept saying “We want to go again!” It’s about an hour and a half from our house, but this Accommodation left a lasting impression with its relaxed pension atmosphere, heartfelt homemade cooking, and the kindness of the owner couple. We would love to visit again as a family soon.

It was a wonderful place. Although it’s a traditional farmhouse with a thatched roof, the interior is modern and well equipped with appliances. They also prepared the ingredients for us, so we were able to enjoy our stay with friends. We’d love to come again.

The Facility has a nostalgic Showa-era feel, and because multiple buildings have been combined, the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor; the top (4th) floor is accessible by stairs. However, if you don’t mind that, it’s a very comfortable stay. Even the standard meals offer a wide variety of dishes and are truly delicious. The Onsen has a mineral quality I’ve never experienced before—so impressive it made me think, “So this is what therapeutic bathing is.” The indoor bath has five washing stations and feels too small for six people at once, but as long as you choose your time wisely, it wasn’t an issue. This is one Hotel I’d love for you to experience at least once. It’s hard to describe, but I can confidently recommend staying here—ideally for a Multiple Night Stay.

This Accommodation is an entire private house, so it may feel a bit oversized for two people for one night. However, since we had previously stayed in cramped business hotels, the sense of space here was on a completely different level, and it really helped us recover from the day’s fatigue. There are many Rooms, including some hideout-like spots, and there are also two toilets, so I think it’s ideal for groups staying multiple nights—especially for those who want to cook for themselves. That said, perhaps because it was during a holiday period, the bathroom cleaning didn’t seem to be done in time, and the drain was dirty. It was a bit disappointing given how great everything else was. Overall it was excellent, and if we have another chance next time, we would definitely like to stay again.

There is no bathtub—only a shower—but I was very satisfied with the clean Facility, healthy meals, and the open, nature-rich surroundings. There is a day-use Onsen nearby.

Honestly, I thought the price was very reasonable considering the in-room open-air bath. All the Ryokan staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I was surprised to see so many young attendants, but they were very professional and clearly well trained. The meals featured carefully prepared mountain cuisine rather than seafood, and you could really feel the attention to detail. The in-room open-air bath had a wonderful atmosphere, and we had an amazing time. Because each building is connected by covered corridors, you can stroll through the garden even when it rains.

We stayed as a family of four. The bath was very relaxing, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. All the staff were friendly, and we had a very pleasant stay.

The Accommodation was very clean and well maintained. One thing I wished it had was a chair. I’m used to working while seated in a regular chair, so I wanted somewhere to sit and work. Sitting on a floor chair felt a bit unsettled. Breakfast was very luxurious and delicious.

We stayed as a family of three with one dog. Until now, we had always traveled after leaving our dog at a pet hotel, but we felt sorry because he seemed depressed when we did that, so this was our first trip together. When I searched online for a “Hotel where dogs can stay too,” Shirakaba Club came up. It’s highly recommended for those who want to plan their trip around their dog. Even during meals, dogs are allowed to join you, which was great because our dog could relax without feeling anxious. We were also truly impressed by how delicious the owners’ course dinner was! The bath is an Onsen, and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. The room was spacious, so our dog could move around freely, and the interior design was thoughtfully done with lots of beautiful amenities. However, the inside of one drawer had not been cleaned properly; perhaps a previous guest left something behind, but there was food that had been left to spoil. The owner had plenty of interesting stories and we really enjoyed talking a lot. His wife was also very lovely. It has a warm, homey atmosphere and we’d like to visit again! Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We stayed as a couple. Many Accommodations today try to satisfy guests by having everything fully equipped, but this place isn’t about that. Instead, the landlady who handles everything on her own offers such thoughtful care, warm hospitality, and attentive service that it more than makes up for it—an Accommodation that left us truly satisfied. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed local sake as well. They prepared an irori hearth and even set up a brazier outside so we could enjoy stargazing, and they also provided hot-water bottles—unique pleasures different from the usual stay. An Accommodation that satisfies the eyes, ears, stomach, and heart; we’d love to visit again.

The meals—especially the BBQ dinner—were delicious. The Maeda beef steak was outstanding. Since we stayed at the Super Premium Site, it was convenient that we could drive directly onto the site. The spacious grounds also made our dogs very happy; seeing them run around excitedly was truly satisfying. It felt like a luxurious private dog run experience. The beds inside the tent were also extremely comfortable. The large public bath in the clubhouse was fairly standard, but I appreciated the free massage chair in the changing room. One downside was that although there is an air cooler and a fan inside the tent, they didn’t work effectively at all. (It was comfortable from sunset until early morning, but during summer daytime it felt like a greenhouse—unbearable!) I recommend staying outside the tent during the day. It was also very inconvenient that there is no toilet on-site; if you see this as part of embracing outdoor inconveniences (no toilet, no refrigerator, no air conditioning, etc.), then it might be acceptable—but if you advertise it as a Super Premium Site, I honestly wish basic comfort (at least a toilet and heating/cooling) were provided. (Especially given that it wasn’t cheap.) There is a small cabin on the site with air conditioning and it was wonderfully cool, but it’s so small and empty that I did wonder whether it makes sense to pay such a high rate only to spend most of your time in that cabin… After check-in there isn’t really anywhere else cool within the site, so you end up taking refuge in this cabin, staying in your car with A/C on, or going to the clubhouse… Since the tent itself is so lovely, it would have been ideal if we could have spent most of our time comfortably inside it. I also strongly felt how convenient it would be if there were a toilet inside that air-conditioned cabin. Since you have to walk to the clubhouse restroom each time, you need to keep reminding yourself to go before it becomes urgent. (Waiting until your limit might be tough!) Unfortunately we couldn’t see the starry sky at night because of bad weather—it was disappointing—but I’d love to come back for another try next time, aiming for a more comfortable season! All staff members were very kind and made our stay pleasant. Thank you very much.

I stayed here with my dog. We had a Room with a bath, and although it was pouring rain, there was a roof so we could relax in the Onsen without getting wet. The private baths in the building also allow you to bring your dog into the changing area, so I didn’t have to leave my dog alone in the Room. The Room was spacious and spotless, and they even provided steps so my dog could sleep with me on the bed. The meals were Italian, and the local Izu specialty kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) was especially delicious. My dog’s meal was made with safe ingredients, so I felt comfortable letting my dog eat it. I would definitely like to stay again.

First, thank you for coming outside to greet us at the entrance. We were welcomed with Chinese black tea with honey as a welcome drink. The meals were home-style cuisine from Guilin, China, based on the idea that food is medicine, along with creative Japanese and Western dishes; both the aperitif and the tea were from China. The owner’s wife—more like a traditional hostess—is originally from Guilin, China. The ingredients were also carefully selected, making everything delicious: vegetables and rice from Nagano, fish, and fruit from the husband’s family in Yamagata. The Room had just been renovated and was clean and comfortable. We appreciated having a unit bath in each Room. It may not suit those who want to soak in a large bathtub, though. Breakfast was also healthy and made with carefully chosen ingredients. There was a drink bar and coffee from China as well. We could even see wild birds and squirrels from the window. When we took a walk nearby, we also encountered deer. We were touched that they came outside again to see us off when we left. It was so good that we will definitely return.

The Room was clean, and the owner was very kind. I would like to stay again when I want to relax. If you do your shopping in advance, you can sometimes enjoy a peaceful, relaxing time. Thank you very much.

Both the front desk staff and the head therapist were wonderful. The Shuttle Service staff from Nasu-Shiobara Station was very kind. Thanks to them, we had a fantastic stay. It was like a dream to be able to enjoy such delicious, authentic Peking duck in Nasu Highlands. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

We visited as a family of nine. The moment we entered the Room, everyone got super excited! The grandkids were having a blast (lol). It had a calm, kura-style atmosphere, the garden was beautifully maintained, and the open-air bath felt great. This kura-style Accommodation was amazing! We’ll definitely stay again when we’re in the area. Thank you for your kind hospitality and for taking such good care of us. The only minor issue was that the open-air bath uses recirculated water, and we noticed a slight chlorine smell.

We planned to visit Kamikochi the next day and looked for Accommodation in Matsumoto City, but gave up because it coincided with the Suwa Lake fireworks festival. We found this Accommodation closer to Kamikochi; it was a little off our route, but my wife—who is very particular about Facilities and cleanliness—praised it highly. Our friends traveling with us were satisfied as well. The only disappointment was that the bath felt a bit small when five women used it at the same time, perhaps due to the Accommodation’s capacity. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed a very calm overnight stay. We would like to thank everyone at the Accommodation.

We stayed the night before our trip to Mt. Kinka. The Room was well cleaned and felt very fresh and tidy. The women’s bath area was small with only two washing stations, but it was nice to be able to soak in a large bathtub. Breakfast was excellent. The white rice was Tsuyahime; it was my first time trying it, and it was delicious. The miso soup had great dashi flavor, and everyone in our family had seconds. The side dishes also felt homemade and were very tasty. We would like to stay again.
