We stayed as a family of four, including a couple and two children. The staff were very courteous and made our stay extremely enjoyable. We appreciated them preparing fishing bait for us and cooking the fish we caught. Each dish was incredibly delicious, though dinner portions seemed slightly small for the men in our group. Next time, we would love to stay for two nights during the pool season.

This is the only accommodation located in Kanau, famous for its connection to the "Taiheiki." The accommodation accepts only 1-2 groups per day. The building was originally a residence of a local noble family and served as a temporary palace for the Southern Court, which resisted the Northern Court. It has been renovated into a hotel and restaurant, offering guests a unique opportunity to experience history by staying in what was once an imperial residence. While the facilities and meals may not match those of luxury hotels, the owner, who comes from a long-standing noble family that has protected this area for generations, can share fascinating stories about medieval history upon request. Adjacent to the accommodation is a museum, and nearby on higher ground lies the tomb of Kitabatake Chikafusa. However, there are no other major tourist attractions in this area. This accommodation serves as a base for those wishing to explore Kanau's serene countryside. Please note that transportation is very limited; while there are buses from JR Gojo Station, they run only a few times per day. We recommend checking bus schedules carefully before planning your visit.

I love wild boar and travel around to enjoy it. The miso soup with plenty of mushrooms was incredibly delicious! The sashimi and salt-grilled char were also excellent. I came for lunch as well, and the soba noodles were tasty (soba is also served at night). There are two baths, and since there was only one other group of guests, I could use them whenever I wanted—lucky me! It was very relaxing. The futon was fluffy, allowing me to sleep soundly and recover from fatigue—it was perfect. Besides basic amenities, the bath area had many items that seemed like forgotten belongings from other guests. There were few power outlets in the Room. For sightseeing, a waterfall is within walking distance; arriving early to relax might be a good idea! Perhaps because my Room was in the back, the Wi-Fi signal was weak. Overall, I had a wonderful time here! I'd love to visit again!

I was a bit worried the road to the Accommodation went so far back, but I arrived safely. It’s a quiet Accommodation on the edge of a rural area. They also offer day-use bathing, but the bath area is spacious so it never felt crowded. The Onsen water was soft and at just the right temperature, and I could relax and soak at ease. Dinner was delicious, and I even enjoyed the kamameshi to finish. At night, the open-air bath under a sky full of stars was outstanding. The rice at breakfast was excellent—no surprise for a region known for its rice. It’s not a flashy Facility, but it was a warm and pleasant Accommodation.

Based on past Reviews, it looked great, so I decided to book. It’s been a few years since I last stayed at a pension. It was my first time in Himekidaira, and there seemed to be quite a lot of pensions (with a few closed here and there). There are quite a few stairs from the parking lot to the entrance, so it might be a little tough if you have heavy luggage. The Room we stayed in was a deluxe twin with an en-suite bath and toilet. From the photos I thought there wouldn’t be a washlet toilet seat, but it was included, which was nice. The Room was spacious, and since it was also a corner room, the view surrounded by trees felt very relaxing. The interior design is tasteful and everything is clean. There are two private baths; both are the same size, and we were able to unwind in the soft water of the artificial Onsen. The dinner dining area had even more wonderful decor. Each table has fabric partitions, giving it a semi-private feel. It also helped that each person can choose an all-you-can-drink option for beverages. Just as the Reviews said, every dish was delicious, with more volume than expected. For breakfast you can choose an egg dish, and the bread is thick-cut toast. Several drinks and yogurt are self-serve. In short, we were simply impressed by how stylish and spotless everything throughout the property was. The owner couple were kind as well—it’s easy to see why they have so many repeat guests. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. It’s not somewhere we can visit casually due to the distance, but we’d love to return when traveling in Shinshu again.

This was my third stay. In the super-hot sauna for 5 minutes, the freezing cold mineral spring for 5 minutes, then a 5-minute rest. Doing this for 3–5 sets feels amazing. After that, I enjoyed a delicious dinner and slept soundly. The next morning, I had breakfast and did the sauna, mineral spring, and rest again—perfectly refreshed. It was fantastic. The Accommodation had a strong retro Showa-era vibe. Don’t forget a thick sauna hat!

The food was very delicious, and I would like to stay at this pension again.

We chose this Accommodation for our final day. The meals were served in our Room, and above all, the Onsen was outstanding. Every dish was delicious, especially the sukiyaki and the surf clam sashimi. Breakfast was also generous, and the peach we had for dessert was sweet and very tasty. I was surprised by the proprietress’s greeting as it was my first time experiencing that, but thank you for taking the time to come and greet us. We would love to visit again. We will use the bottled natural hot spring water we received at check-out as a substitute for toner.

The dome and dining area were exceptionally clean, and the meals were highly satisfying in both quality and quantity. Having coffee beans and a grinder provided was also a nice touch. This level of quality at this price is unmatched. Definitely coming back!

This was my first visit to Hakone. The serene, nature-rich environment and the beautifully renovated interior of the facility and Room made for a very comfortable stay. The open-air bath was wonderful, allowing us to relax while enjoying views of the trees. The Japanese-Western style Room we stayed in with our beloved dog had a dining table, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious dinner in the Room, which was highly satisfying. The tatami area in the Japanese-style room was new and spacious, providing a relaxing atmosphere. Our dogs seemed delighted with both the spacious Room and the dog run. The staff members, including those from overseas, were all very kind and provided heartfelt service that left a great impression on us. We are grateful for how this trip added color to our journey through Hakone during its beautiful autumn foliage season. We look forward to visiting again during another season!

We stayed as a family of four. When we informed them of our early arrival, they kindly allowed us to enter the room. They also sent us URLs via text message for recommended nearby supermarkets and cafes. It was such a wonderful villa that one night felt too short! A slightly disappointing point was that none of the pet supplies were prepared, so it would have been better if the items listed on the site were ready. The bath was comfortable, and we had a very meaningful time. We would love to use it again.

I stayed here for the first time the night before climbing Mt. Myogi. The Onsen was a cloudy bath, and it was my first time experiencing its iron-like scent. I only had breakfast, but the miso soup in particular was delicious. The staff were pleasant, and the Room was spacious and clean. The futon and pillows were fluffy, so I slept soundly—overall a very satisfying Accommodation.

We stayed in the Kids Terrace Room with our children during summer vacation. They were thrilled with the bunk beds and the tent. Best of all, the terrace connects directly to the lawn area, so we could relax on the terrace while watching them play. They enjoyed experiences that are hard to find in the city, like driving RC carts on the grass, feeding ponies, and playing with water guns. The meals were also excellent, with many dishes featuring local ingredients. The late-night tantan noodles and complimentary ice cream after a bath were wonderful touches. The Facility had been renovated and felt new inside, making our stay very comfortable. Even after returning home, our kids still say they want to stay again. We’d love to visit again when we have the chance.

I stayed as a solo guest. The room was truly right in front of the ocean, and whether I was in the living room, bedroom, or bath, the view of the blue sea was incredibly refreshing. Since cooking utensils were provided, I made a reservation with No Meals Included but enjoyed dinner at Amanoyu, a restaurant within the group facility. I also found it very appealing that I could access both the sake bar and onsen at Yokaikan, another group facility! I initially planned to relax and work in the villa but was pleasantly surprised to have access to such a spacious public bath! Working surrounded by the sea in such a spacious room was very fulfilling; next time, I'd love to try having a BBQ with friends. Thank you so much!

It’s a small Accommodation, but the Room had an open-air bath, and the futon was wonderfully fluffy. The food was also very delicious. Our attendant was from Malaysia, and her smile was lovely—she served us wholeheartedly. Thank you very much. What concerned me was that the dishes were served a little slowly; my husband, after having some drinks, fell asleep halfway through. Also, since there are only private baths and the in-room open-air bath (no large public bath), we found ourselves watching the time when going to use the private bath. I deducted points for those reasons, but it was an Accommodation where we could relax at a leisurely pace.

We stayed for one night and two days with dinner and breakfast included for four people. The traditional house, delicious meals, and the warm hospitality of the proprietress were very soothing. The building is a bit old, but it made us feel like we were visiting a relative’s home. However, perhaps because some walls are thin, noise from upstairs and downstairs carries through, so it may bother some guests.

We visited for a ski trip and were warmly welcomed with smiles by the family who runs this place. The entrance opens up to a beautiful space, the Room was impeccably clean, and the bath had perfect water temperature, spacious enough to stretch out and relax after a tiring day. The meals were visually delightful and offered an abundance of dishes that we couldn’t finish; the roast beef was especially exquisite and absolutely delicious! In the antique-style shared living room, there is a grand piano, a large clock, sofas, and a fireplace. The lounge offers an array of drinks served in stylish cups & saucers that you can enjoy freely. We had such a cozy time relaxing in this warm space even after meals. For ski trips, they also provided us with a drying room as well as a Room for waxing skis—this thoughtful touch truly impressed us. Although it was planned last minute, we had an amazing time here. Thank you so much! We would love to visit again if we have another chance!

The Accommodation was very clean and well maintained. It felt newer than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Dinner was stylish and delicious, with plenty of great dishes—I’m glad I chose the plan with dinner included. The open-air bath was an Onsen, and it warmed me up comfortably. This is an Accommodation I can recommend, and I’d love to stay again.

I was thrilled to be upgraded to a Room where I could fish right from the room—it was like a dream come true! The sashimi with the meal was also very fresh, and we were completely satisfied with this Accommodation!

Originally, we planned to visit Miyako Island, but due to a flight cancellation, we made a last-minute change to this accommodation. The disappointment of not being able to go to Miyako Island was completely overturned by this wonderful accommodation and the nearby sea! Despite our late-night check-in, we were warmly welcomed. The handmade bread served at breakfast was exquisite! It was beautifully presented, and my 4-year-old daughter was thrilled with the heart-shaped bread. Having baked bread for luxury hotels for many years, the quality of the dough and carefully selected ingredients were exceptional. We could choose our drinks; among them, the chai and mango juice were delicious. On our last day, everyone chose mango juice again. The room is a renovated traditional house with high ceilings featuring four bunk beds—perfect for providing a sense of privacy even for teenagers in their sensitive years. Each bed had stylish reading lights and outlets conveniently located for charging devices while lying down. Towels were replaced daily, trash was collected every day as well, allowing us to stay in cleanliness throughout our visit. The toilet and shower room were also spotless! The mist shower provided warm water that felt comforting on slightly chilly days—a thoughtful touch indeed! Cute towels hung daily at the sink added an extra delight. The interior design is stylishly curated; even household appliances are chosen without compromising aesthetics—truly impressive attention to detail! Particularly notable are the potted plants around the reception counter and tasteful tableware used during meals. Less than a one-minute walk from this accommodation leads you straight to the beach—a perfect spot where small children can enjoy activities like SUP boarding or snorkeling safely while playing with floaties in shallow waters close by coral reefs teeming with colorful fish species alongside crabs & hermit crabs living on rocks nearby delighted my daughter immensely! For shopping needs such as drinks or snacks (including delicious bento boxes), there’s a supermarket about 10 minutes away by car offering everything from island sandals & meats desserts fireworks souvenirs operating until 9 PM making it convenient avoiding trips into Naha city altogether! Next time around—we plan staying entirely within Nakijin village itself laughingly skipping excursions elsewhere altogether enjoying its serene charm uninterruptedly instead 😊 Lastly though unexpected mishaps occurred upon departure staff graciously handled situations kindly demonstrating immense patience generosity beyond words expressing gratitude wholeheartedly here once more including promptly mailing forgotten items back afterward too much appreciated indeed ❤️ My daughter fell head-over-heels loving black sugar peanuts brought home cherishing fond memories shared together thanks again sincerely wishing Nakijin remains tranquil unspoiled haven forever amidst growing popularity tourism developments ahead looking forward returning soon reconnecting warmly meantime best regards always till then 🌿
