I felt completely relaxed. If the private family bath was available, I could use it, so when I wanted to warm up a bit before bed, I went there. In the open-air bath, all I could hear was the sound of the stream, water falling from above, and the calls of frogs—it was incredibly quiet. I soaked absentmindedly for about an hour, then ate when I got hungry. During my Multiple Night Stay, both breakfast and dinner had different menus each day, and everything—including the rice and water—was delicious, so I ate too much. I came by bus instead of renting a car; the bus stop is right in front of the property. There are also places within walking distance in Bungo-Mori, such as a roundhouse museum, so I enjoyed sightseeing as well. I’d love to visit again. The proprietress’s thoughtful hospitality was wonderful—I truly felt at ease. Thank you very much.

This was my first time staying here. It’s a small hotel nestled in the forest. The surroundings are quiet, making it a perfect place to relax. When I stepped inside, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was—it made me wonder if I should take off my shoes before entering! The wooden-style room had a toilet, shower room, and a spacious sink area. Part of the elevated floor served as a large bed. The lights automatically turned on and off based on movement, which meant no need to manually switch them when getting into bed or waking up for the restroom—so convenient! And the baths! There’s an indoor bath on the first floor and an open-air bath on the second floor, both available for private use. The stone tubs were spacious with crystal-clear water, and while soaking in the outdoor bath under overhanging tree branches was amazing, even the indoor bath felt clean and refreshing. The design is minimal yet perfectly thought out—for example, there’s a spotlight-like light by the bed that’s ideal for reading or an unexpectedly long clothes rack that turned out to be very practical. It made me wonder if the owner might be an architect because they clearly understand what guests need! I’m already thinking about coming back just to stay here again—I’ve found such a gem!

We stayed in two rooms with one Shepherd and four Golden Retrievers. The trash bin in the room was placed above the eye level of large dogs, and there was a counter-like shelf by the bedside where we could place items like glasses that we didn’t want them to mess with. This thoughtful setup was truly appreciated, and I was impressed! The meals were all delicious, especially the marinated octopus at dinner—it was my favorite! The owner was very kind; after enjoying some snow activities nearby the next day, they invited us to have tea in the dining area. We gladly accepted their offer, had a relaxing chat, and even received souvenirs. It’s such a warm accommodation that made me want to stay again soon. Thank you so much!

Thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our one-night, two-day stay. The Room was spotless and thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to truly relax. Although it was a detached Room, the main building was right in front of us, which made us feel at ease. We took an early-morning walk around the watershed area and saw beautiful scenery spreading out in the silence—it felt as if both mind and body were refreshed. Breakfast was also exceptional: we enjoyed the complimentary bread along with milk and yogurt we bought at a nearby farmers’ market. Our children were very happy too, saying they “wanted to stay longer.” It became a wonderful memory for us. Thank you very much.

This trip had us constantly checking the weather, but we came with our kids, believing there might still be a chance to stargaze at the observatory. It was cloudy and forecast to clear after midnight, so we arrived early with mixed feelings. Before check-in, we were allowed to play mallet golf for free, and the kids ended up running around nonstop on the playground athletics course in the park. After check-in, we relaxed in the large public bath. It was very clean—it's not an Onsen, but it was great. Dinner was at the restaurant from around 19:00. The food was delicious and very generous; our kids couldn’t finish it, which we felt bad about. We really appreciated that the portions were adjusted for younger and older elementary school children. Then came what we’d been waiting for: stargazing! Unfortunately, because of the clouds, it switched to the planetarium instead. But thanks to those clouds, some guests apparently canceled—and unbelievably, everything ended up being completely private just for us! The director’s friendly talk and quizzes had our kids excited from start to finish. He also projected images of what you can see on a clear night, and it turned into an incredibly satisfying 45-minute journey through space! On our way out, each of us got to choose one favorite photo from the director’s collection taken at the observatory. When we stepped outside afterward, we could faintly see the moon and one or two stars starting to appear. Lights-out was at 21:30. We woke up at 2:00 hoping for a miracle—real stars—and somehow even the kids managed to get up too. Looking out through the large south-facing window, my child shouted “The Milky Way!!” I thought it might be a mistake—but it really was the Milky Way!! In the planetarium earlier, we’d heard that Scorpius is a “miracle constellation,” visible in that alignment only from Earth—and that seeing even its tail requires conditions that are rare even here at Ogawa Observatory… yet there it was as well!! We were so moved and happy that I fell asleep peacefully afterward! Breakfast was also excellent—again our kids couldn’t finish everything (sorry!). All of your staff were friendly and welcoming too; it was a truly satisfying trip! I actually stopped by about 20 years ago while visiting filming locations from *Hakusen Nagashi*, but I only briefly passed through back then—so this time left me deeply impressed.

It was my first time staying with Sanu, and I’d love to come back again. As soon as we arrived, the scent of wood greeted us, and the Room was clean and comfortable. We were able to relax with our dog on the raised platform area. Also, because meals weren’t provided, we could visit our favorite bakeries for breakfast, and choose between cooking dinner ourselves or eating out—so it felt like living there while still being able to refresh. It was a shame that the bathroom was small and there wasn’t space to put things in the washroom area, but otherwise we were very satisfied.

With a steak late-night snack included, I think this price is very reasonable. Traveling with my dog, it was a very satisfying trip. I’ve found an Accommodation I’d love to visit again!

The meals were absolutely delicious, and I was very satisfied, including the dessert. Thank you for kindly accommodating my situation by preparing breakfast to take away! Thanks to that, I was able to reach Hunter in 1.5 hours. I’d love to visit again in summer. Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed as a family of five. The children were very satisfied, and we had a great time. The space was spacious and open, making it very comfortable. We hope for an improvement such as a roof or cover for rainy weather so we can enjoy barbecues regardless of the weather. We would like to stay again if we have the opportunity.

We stayed for one night to enjoy playing in the snow with our dog. The building is old, and the room does not have a private bathroom or toilet, but the shared facilities were renovated, very clean, and easy to use. There was also a shared refrigerator in the hallway, which was very convenient! The waffle for dogs we received upon arrival seemed delicious as our dog quickly finished it. The dog's meal had an appetizing aroma and was enjoyed thoroughly. Of course, the meals for humans were also excellent with a variety of side dishes that were more than enough to eat. Everything was incredibly delicious! The bagels at breakfast were chewy and so tasty that I became a big fan of them! I would love to have them again. The hostess's warm personality made our stay even better, and Kojiro-kun, the rescue dog there, was friendly and adorable—a truly wonderful accommodation. One small request: when laying out the futon in the room, we noticed that where parts of the flooring carpet overlapped had come undone slightly, revealing dust and debris underneath. It might be an overlooked area but would appreciate if it could be cleaned. It’s such a comfortable accommodation where we could relax fully—we loved it so much that we've already made another reservation for next month! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Fresh air, delicious meals, and a quiet Onsen made for a wonderful experience. If I had to say, I wish the Onsen water was a bit hotter. Would definitely visit again!

I always think the Onsen is wonderful. I sometimes wish the Room had a bed, but the atmosphere is quite nice. The meals are a bit too large for elderly guests, and I feel bad leaving food. It’s an Onsen I’d like to visit again.

We stayed here with two people for an overnight snowboarding trip to Tengendai Kogen Ski Resort. After a full day on the slopes, they served us must-have snacks for drinks, and we enjoyed a toast. Then we took a bath; the tub is a bit small for two adults at once, but taking turns was no problem. They also make sure guests don’t overlap. The dinner menu that day featured Yonezawa’s specialty Yoshitsune-yaki (Genghis Khan), and there were also appetizers like oden and pork miso soup—satisfaction level 120%! After returning to the Room, there wasn’t much to do, so I thought it would be nice to have at least a TV. Still, we had another satisfying breakfast the next morning, enjoyed coffee, and headed to the slopes with plenty of time—no need to line up for the ropeway. We’ll definitely stay again.

A very warm family-run accommodation! The host, his wife, and their children were very friendly and approachable, leaving a great impression. Additionally, the bread baked by the wife was exceptional, making for a wonderfully tasteful breakfast. It was such a pleasant accommodation that I would love to stay here again if given the chance. Experience glamping with a touch of tradition, enjoying a Japanese Kaiseki dinner in a historic mansion built during the Meiji era. Accommodation is provided in "Jyubako," designed by Snow Peak and Kengo Kuma. This wooden trailer house features soft, embedded indirect lighting for a cozy atmosphere. The room includes a double-sized bed with crisp linens and plush mattresses for excellent comfort. Large windows offer an open and inviting space. The cabin is equipped with basic amenities such as a sink, toaster oven, electric kettle, regular coffee, and dripper. While there are no showers or toilets inside the cabin, sanitary facilities are conveniently located on-site and include 24-hour shower access. Guests can also use the Onsen at Tsukioka Onsen within the same group; however, it may require some travel. Dinner is served in private rooms within the main mansion—a stunning historical building filled with antique furnishings and well-maintained gardens. Paired with craft beer from Swan Lake Brewery next door, this exquisite meal offers an unforgettable dining experience. A separate building houses a self-service bar featuring local sake and draft beer from Swan Lake Brewery available all night long. Guests can enjoy drinks under the moonlight at their cabin's outdoor table for an enchanting evening. As open fires are prohibited due to being on cultural heritage grounds, glass-fronted rocket stoves are available for rent instead—highly recommended to keep warm while enjoying the ambiance of firelight alongside ample firewood provided. Surrounded by serene countryside views, guests can relax by the fire or visit the bar occasionally for drinks before retreating to their quiet cabins equipped with air conditioning for restful sleep. In the morning, enjoy breakfast under your cabin's tarp-covered area with hot sandwiches and coffee. Although direct views of surrounding rice fields are blocked by fences, only five cabins occupy this spacious property ensuring privacy and tranquility throughout your stay. Check-out is simple—just leave your key inside your room as staff members aren't present in the morning. While more information about local attractions would have been appreciated during check-out time—it was still an exceptional stay overall!

A lovely pension by Lake Kussharo. The highlight is the hard French bread, which rivals those from famous city bakeries. The meals were impressively delicious, especially considering they are self-taught, and I appreciated that proper tea was served alongside coffee. The onsen with an open-air bath was excellent. Kotan no Yu was also nearby. Although we couldn't secure a canoe reservation during the busy Obon season this time, we look forward to enjoying the enchanting winter canoe tour in the future.

The location is excellent, the atmosphere created by the two people at the Property is wonderful, and above all, their taste in music was spot on, making my stay truly comfortable. It's a Property I want to visit regularly for some chill time. A gecko appeared on the bus and my companion made a fuss about it, but that too became a good memory unique to that place. Haha

First-time glamping in a Snow Peak JYUBAKO. We were excited about this camping-style glamping experience, but with the forecast of bad weather, we felt uneasy. After consulting with the staff, they kindly prepared a tarp and charcoal so we could still enjoy a camping atmosphere indoors. We were deeply touched by the manager's thoughtfulness. The meals were more than enough to eat, and on clear nights, you can enjoy a sky full of stars. With easy access from the highway, it's highly recommended for camping beginners. We would love to visit again if given the chance!
