It had been since last autumn, but this is an Accommodation that soothes me no matter when I visit. Of course, the Room and the Onsen are wonderful, as are the meals—modern French with witty, thought-provoking menus each time, and a Japanese breakfast made with carefully selected ingredients—but even more than that, I’m always delighted by the staff’s quiet attentiveness everywhere, including turndown service during both dinner and breakfast. I go outside the rear entrance to smoke each time, and there was a small bench that hadn’t been there before. Near the exit were several mats you can use on the bench. I was moved by these little touches and found myself even more captivated by Kokon. I’m already looking forward to deciding when to visit next.

With more newly opened Hotels in Hakone, we have stayed at several, but after visiting Hiramatsu again for the first time in a while, we truly rediscovered how comfortable it is. My mother and I enjoyed a relaxing, unhurried stay, and we were very satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the meals. We will definitely return. Thank you again for everything.

While Accommodations with Onsen and breakfast and dinner included are wonderful, we were hoping for a stay that felt more like living locally. We stayed as a couple, and the simple layout—kitchen, dining area, bedroom, toilet, and shower—was impressive and made for a very comfortable stay. The owner’s mural was gentle and blended beautifully with the interior, creating a lovely atmosphere. We were told that in winter all rooms have underfloor heating so you can stay comfortable even in short sleeves, so we’d love to visit again in another season. There’s an OGINO supermarket nearby as well as a butcher shop; we enjoyed basashi and relaxed with Yamanashi wine (the kitchen knife wasn’t very sharp, but honestly it felt safer that way). Partway through our stay, the owner stopped by to check on us and shared stories about life at Lake Yamanaka—more than anything else, that became our favorite memory and made us feel at ease. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay, and even though we arrived nearly two hours later than planned, thank you very much for welcoming us so kindly. Both the Room and the bath were very clean. We were a bit concerned about mosquitoes given the season, but effective measures with a wonderful fragrance were in place, so we felt completely at ease throughout our stay. The sound system in the loft theater room was excellent—it truly felt like being in a movie theater. We were also shown to a private dining room, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the delicious food at our own pace, almost like in-Room dining. All of the staff were courteous from start to finish, and we had a truly wonderful time. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

We stay here every year, and since the rebranding and reopening, both the cuisine and the service have been taken to an even higher level—making for a truly satisfying stay. I was genuinely impressed by the chef’s careful selection of ingredients and the time and effort put into each dish. Even breakfast featured thoughtfully prepared items, and our food-loving family was more than satisfied. Being able to see the chef at the end of the meal and exchange a few words made dining even more special. The course itself reflected the chef’s warm personality, which makes us look forward to our next visit. We would love to return in a different season. Thank you for making our family vacation such a meaningful time.

This was my first stay, and I was completely satisfied with everything—the Room, spa treatments, baths, and meals! Since it’s all-inclusive, there were complimentary drink services in various areas, and it was wonderful to enjoy the café while soaking in the footbath. The amenities were well stocked, and perhaps because it was a weekday, the baths were almost private so I could relax at my own pace. There’s also a gym, making it an ideal Hotel stay. I’d love to stay again.

I wanted a change from my usual Accommodation in Hakone, so I stayed here for the first time. I could really feel the care put into the meals. Nothing about the ingredients, pairings, or cooking methods felt ordinary—everything was surprising and delicious. I enjoyed every dish while thinking how much ongoing research and refinement must go into it. This has become an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. There was only one small thing I noticed: I wish there had been an ottoman in the Room. I wanted to stretch out my legs and relax. It was also my first time seeing deer in Hakone. It became a wonderful memory.

Every month, coming back here makes us feel at ease. For us, it’s not just a place to stay—it’s a special place where we can truly relax when we return. Thank you so much to everyone who always welcomes us with the same warm smiles. The time we get to spend here is a source of comfort for our hearts. Chef, of course everything is delicious, but we can really feel the care you put into each and every dish, and it makes us happy every time. We’re grateful to keep finding dishes that make us think, “I want to eat this again,” no matter how many times we’ve had them. A huge thank-you to you and the entire kitchen team!! And to you—there may be all kinds of worries, but take it easy, stay calm, don’t get worked up, and keep a cool head. We’re cheering for you! If you ever need to vent, I’ll listen anytime (haha). This was our third stay, and once again we were completely satisfied. Last time we stayed in a first-floor corner Room with a private dog run, which was very comfortable in its own way, but this time we had a third-floor corner Room. There wasn’t a private dog run, but the high ceilings made the entire Room feel spacious and open, and it was truly relaxing. The first and third floors each have their own unique appeal. What left the strongest impression again this time was the food. Dinner is served in the Room, so there’s no need to leave your dog behind and move to a dining area—everyone can relax without worry. That alone is a huge plus when traveling with a dog, but beyond that, the quality of the cuisine is exceptionally high. Not only are the ingredients excellent, each one is thoughtfully prepared with an extra touch of care—you can really feel the chef’s craftsmanship in every dish. It’s not just beautiful to look at; it’s genuinely delicious. Honestly, if I ever appeared on “The Best Restaurant of My Life,” I might even nominate this place. That’s how memorable dinner here is every time. It’s also wonderful that breakfast is served in the Room as well. Without having to move around with your dog or worry about others from early morning, you can enjoy your meal at your own pace. And of course breakfast is delicious too—overall satisfaction with meals from dinner through breakfast is extremely high. The baths were outstanding as well. Our whole family used the large public bath three times during our stay. It fully delivers on what you hope for when coming all the way to Hakone—to truly enjoy an Onsen. The staff are also very experienced with guests traveling with dogs and interact naturally without making things feel overly formal, which gives great peace of mind. You may occasionally hear dogs barking inside the building, but there’s an atmosphere of mutual understanding among guests, which made it easy to relax. After three stays—and feeling “we want to come back” every single time—this has become an Accommodation that will likely be our first choice for our next trip to Hakone as well.

I’ve been wanting to visit in every season since my last stay, but our schedules never lined up, so we ended up returning in July again. The cedar-lined path from the Accommodation to Hakone Shrine felt cool and refreshing even under the strong sun, and we were lucky enough to hear the evening cicadas singing—reminding me once again how wonderful Hakone is. Even during dinner we could occasionally hear them; together with the thoughtfully prepared dishes with elegant seasoning and the recommended sake, it made for a truly luxurious time. The next day, after enjoying a healthy breakfast carefully prepared, we were kindly driven to Motohakone Port. From the deck of the pirate ship, we cruised while looking at Mt. Fuji and fully enjoying the cool breeze. We’ll be back again.

This is my favorite Accommodation: the well-maintained interior always helps me feel refreshed both body and mind in the Room’s open-air bath, and I can enjoy a French course dinner in casual attire. I will definitely stay again.

We visited this Accommodation for the first time in March after it received the strongest “Absolutely!” recommendation among several options, and it was the first time in a while that we felt completely satisfied in every respect. From the courteous and accurate communication during the Reservation process, to the atmosphere, use of space, staff professionalism, and cuisine—everything met our expectations. With an Accommodation of this caliber, I wasn’t particularly worried about the food, and I had already seen photos of the interior on the website so I assumed there would be no surprises. In the end, however, what matters most is “people.” With group stays, requests often cause inconvenience and there are usually one or two small oversights on the day—but here everything was perfect. This time we came as individuals. We returned both to confirm our impressions and to be moved all over again. The entrance—still fresh in my memory as a favorite—is spacious and quiet. It harmoniously blends cutting-edge design with traditional charm despite being complete opposites. Personally, it may be my favorite part. Our Room this time was more compact than last time but more than sufficient for one night. The open-air bath is also spacious and easy to use even though it has privacy screening. The private dining room felt almost too large for just two people. The timing of each course and the staff’s warm smiles made for a truly comfortable—and delicious—meal. Overall, what stayed with me is how rare this Facility is: an excellent balance of new and old, genuine warmth from people, and employees who approach their work with sincerity—all coming together in perfect harmony. Newer Accommodations with a full resort feel are wonderful in their own way as well; however, as an Onsen Accommodation, this is a place I can confidently recommend as a distinctly Japanese stay where timeless tradition is beautifully integrated. Thank you once again for taking such great care of us. We are truly grateful for a relaxing stay that healed both body and mind. Thank you very much.

We have a large public bath, and also many private baths. The private baths do not require a Reservation—use them anytime if available! You can check availability via QR code, which is very convenient. The semi-open-air baths are especially exciting. Baby amenities are also provided, so families with children can use them with peace of mind.

First of all, the cleanliness of the Hotel’s Rooms and other Facilities was very, very good. I stayed for three nights and treated myself by taking an Obon holiday at this Hotel. It was an Obon holiday filled with gratitude for the food and all the staff. The Onsen was also wonderful, and I felt genuine care in every detail, including the free ice pops after bathing. Thank you for such a wonderful trip with my dog. I will come again, and I look forward to staying with you then as well.

This was our first stay. On the way into the Hotel, the sound of wind chimes felt wonderfully cool and soothing. The moment we stepped inside, a water terrace spread out before us, and my daughter and I couldn’t help exclaiming, “So beautiful!” We stayed in a Premium Room. It was very clean, and my daughter was thrilled with the ReFa hair dryer and shower (laugh). The in-room Onsen is fed directly from the source, so it felt amazing—I ended up soaking twice, morning and night. As it was to celebrate my birthday, you prepared a lovely towel-cake display and even gave me chocolates, which made this trip truly memorable. We booked a Plan with breakfast and dinner included; the dinner course was beautifully plated item by item, making it a feast for the eyes as well. We were also very satisfied that drinks were available freely. The champagne we had upon arrival in particular was incredibly delicious! This has become one of the Hotels we would definitely like to stay at again if we have the chance. Thank you for taking care of us for one night.

Unfortunately, a typhoon arrived and it was rainy. We relaxed in our Room, enjoyed a delicious dinner, and soaked in the Onsen, losing track of time. Breakfast also included freshly cooked kamameshi rice. We were able to spend our time comfortably and at ease. In the restaurant dining hall at breakfast, a Nepalese woman worked wonderfully with a constant smile.

We stayed for one night. The Onsen was wonderful and very relaxing. The meals were delicious, and we really enjoyed chatting with the staff member who took care of us, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Since we were traveling to Nagasaki the next day, we truly appreciated your thoughtful arrangement to serve breakfast earlier. Thanks to you, it became a very fun girls’ trip. After returning home, we heard about the major earthquake in Kumamoto and are very concerned. We are also survivors of the Kobe earthquake 30 years ago, and we still remember how difficult it is without lifelines and how frightening aftershocks can be. We are sending our support from Kobe and hope Kurokawaso and Kumamoto Prefecture will recover as soon as possible. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

We traveled around Kumamoto by rental car with my spouse and our two sons, and stayed at Soan in two Rooms. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The staff were kind and attentive, which made us feel truly welcome. The Onsen water quality was excellent, and we felt deeply relaxed after bathing. The Rooms were clean and comfortable, making this Accommodation a great choice for a family trip. I highly recommend it, and would love to stay again if we have the chance.

We stayed in “Yamabuki 301” for a refreshing getaway as a couple. Although we arrived a little earlier than planned due to our own circumstances, the staff welcomed us warmly and graciously, which truly impressed us. What stood out most during our stay was the outstanding dining experience. The French dinner was delicate and beautifully presented—something to enjoy with all five senses—and we savored it to the fullest along with the wine pairing. Even after returning to our Room, we found ourselves talking together about the lingering impressions of the meal. The Japanese breakfast was also wonderful: rice, soup, and grilled fish were served at their best—perfectly warm and delicious—and we felt genuine hospitality in every detail. We would have loved it if items like the miso and nori tsukudani served at breakfast were available for purchase at the shop. One reason we chose this Room was its water garden, and it was truly soothing. In particular, the atmosphere of the in-room bath and its perfectly balanced water temperature were exceptional—it melted away all our everyday fatigue. The spa we enjoyed as a couple was also an excellent relaxation experience from start to finish, thanks to attentive service and skilled all-hand treatments. (It would be even better if there were options such as massage Plans focused on deep tissue or loosening tight muscles.) If there is one small point: since it was an extremely hot day when we visited, we wished the refrigerator in our Room cooled a bit more strongly. However, overall satisfaction far exceeded that minor concern—this was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Next time, we’d love to visit in another season to enjoy the changing scenery; in summer, perhaps choose a villa with a pool; and while the French cuisine goes without saying, we’d also like to try Japanese dinner during a Multiple Night Stay. We’re grateful to have found an Accommodation that makes us want to return again. Thank you very much.

My parents, my younger brother, my child, and I stayed here using two cars this time. Since there is a drop-off parking area in front of the Hotel, it was easy to unload and check in with my child, and we could take our luggage to the Room in one trip. The parking lot was also close by, spacious, and easy to park in! The Room was clean, and my child made a beeline for the hammock chair! They enjoyed it with a big smile—and it was fun for adults to use too. My child was fascinated by the manual coffee grinder provided in the Room. They ground the beans themselves and made coffee for the whole family! My parents were delighted by coffee prepared by their grandchild. Seeing my child look so proud was adorable! We used the baths a lot (we tried all of the private baths), so being able to get drinks and replenish salt anytime was really appreciated. The meals were delicious—I ate so much I felt stuffed (lol). It was great that my child, who usually watches a lot of TV, had so much fun playing table tennis—we all enjoyed it as a family! My child got the most exercise there. We also enjoyed karaoke—there never seemed to be enough time. All of the staff were kind and attentive with their explanations and support, which made our stay very comfortable. We would love to stay again!
