I thought it would be difficult to get there without a car, but there was a free Shuttle Service bus, so it was easy to reach by train as well. There was also a Shuttle Service to Sukayu Onsen, and I was very satisfied to be able to enjoy an Onsen with different water quality from the Hotel’s. The meals were all carefully prepared using local ingredients. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and everything was delicious. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain and wind on both days, we couldn’t use the Hakkoda Ropeway, but we were able to relax at the Hotel until it was time. We had a wonderfully relaxing summer vacation. Thank you very much.

We have stayed with our dog at many luxury hotels in Japan and abroad, and this was honestly one of the very best—easily competing for No.1 or No.2. If I were to compare it internationally, it was so exceptional that I couldn’t decide which is better: this stay or The Manor at Capella Singapore. It was a magnificent detached villa suite that stands proudly alongside the world’s top luxury hotels. We stayed for two nights from 9/20 with three family members and our dog. Because a typhoon was approaching, we arrived early, but the staff handled everything politely and smoothly and escorted us to our Room about two hours earlier than usual. Before our stay, I read every Review on IKYU, and I felt that many of the points raised in the past had been improved. I was also impressed by how sincerely they take guest feedback to heart. Since this was a two-night stay costing around 1,000,000 yen, I was slightly concerned about whether the experience would truly match the price—but the sense of exclusivity in the detached Room (No.100) far exceeded my expectations. A dedicated parking space; an approximately 300㎡ private dog run; a two-story layout with two bedrooms; in-room dining available exclusively for this Room; complimentary champagne and free drinks in the refrigerator; private dining rooms when using the restaurant—these thoughtfully differentiated touches made perfect sense and felt genuinely worth it. The meals were especially outstanding—clearly a level above any Hotel we have stayed at before. The matsutake course and clay-pot rice were exquisite, and on the second day of our Multiple Night Stay they prepared an entirely different menu from the first day. For anyone considering RETONA, I strongly recommend staying at least two nights—and if possible, specifically in this villa suite—to truly experience what makes it special. (I’m sure other Rooms are wonderful as well.) It became an unforgettable three days worthy of celebrating my daughter’s 12th birthday and our dog’s 6th birthday. We are deeply grateful to all staff members for their kindness throughout—including their attentive email support even before arrival. If I may mention just one small request: there was a spider web on the ceiling above the sink area. We fully understand that insects are common given the lush natural setting—and it’s something we could remove ourselves—but checking higher areas as well would make everything even more perfect. Next time, we will definitely return as a family to stay in the same Room in spring or summer to enjoy seasonal dishes again. This has become one of my favorite luxury hotels—thank you very much for everything.

I stayed in February, and as soon as I got home I made a Reservation for June. Last time was Nadeshiko, and this time it was Tsutsuji. The Tsutsuji Room is a maisonette, with a spacious cypress bath on the first floor. The bath was wonderfully relaxing. I had been looking forward to the meals because they were even better than expected last time. Once again, everything was delicious and very satisfying. This is an Accommodation that makes you want to try every Room, and enjoy the cuisine again in different seasons.

I stayed on a Plan with Club Floor access. The service was excellent. I was especially impressed by the delicious in-house apple pie, scallop soup, and tomato juice. The Hotel’s atmosphere, rich in tradition and elegance, and the refined, attentive hospitality of the staff were outstanding. It made for a truly luxurious stay.

Everyone at the Hotel welcomed us with warm smiles, making our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The large public bath was great, with a shampoo bar and a selection of hair dryers from brands like ReFa and YA-MAN, which was fun to try. Thank you very much.

I was happy to be able to celebrate my birthday here again this year. Not only was the Room wonderful, but the meals were delicious, and the staff’s hospitality was excellent—I’m always grateful. The towel cake in the Room and the mago chazuke I had been hoping to try made it even more special. I had a truly lovely time. Thank you very much.

I originally chose to stay at Yunoyama Onsen because I wanted to relax in the Onsen. The Onsen was wonderfully soothing, and I enjoyed it many times, but to be honest, the meals were even better than expected—exceptionally delicious, with thoughtful touches in each ingredient—so I was just as satisfied, if not more so, than with the Onsen. The welcome drink and shiratama sweets, as well as the sweets café after dinner, were not the kind of “just for show” desserts you often find; they were genuinely delicious sweets, which was another highlight. Since it was summer vacation there were many families with children, and seeing them enjoy the festival games brought back memories of letting my own child play at a similar festival at Ogoto Onsen years ago. The Room was clean, and above all, the hospitality of all the staff was outstanding. I was especially impressed by how hard one international staff member working as a trainee was trying. I would definitely like to stay again—thank you very much.

The location right in front of the station was very convenient, and it was also helpful for storing our luggage. Although it was listed as a Room with some issues, we did not notice any odor, and it was spacious and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and made our stay enjoyable. Thank you very much.

We stayed with a group of five—close friends and family. It was the first weekend of August, and we arrived smoothly with no traffic on the way there. The place was spacious, very clean, and had a great atmosphere—we almost didn’t want to leave the Room, but since the ocean was right in front of us, we headed out. The waves were calm, making it perfect for a relaxing time by the sea. There are probably no beach huts or vending machines nearby, so we recommend bringing your own drinks and other essentials. In the evening we chatted while having a BBQ, then played games together at night—and slept soundly in our beds. The next morning we enjoyed Kamogawa Sea World before heading home. A fully serviced Hotel is comfortable too, but for groups who want to enjoy preparing everything themselves—with plenty of equipment provided—this place is ideal!

We stayed for two nights. There were four adults in one Room (Garden Twin), but even with four beds it didn’t feel cramped, and we were able to relax comfortably. Since it was a family trip, the spacious open closet was also great for preventing forgotten items. Each bed had its own power outlets, which was extremely convenient. We expected a garden-side Room, but we could also see the ocean from the balcony, which was wonderful. I also personally liked that you can choose only the services you need at check-in. Since I usually carry a water bottle, I really appreciated the water dispenser service available in the Hotel. We were able to enjoy plenty of delicious water. It would have been nice if the provided pitcher were a bit larger, but there were two so it wasn’t inconvenient. They were acrylic, so there was no worry about breaking when carrying them around, and they looked stylish as well. It was also fun to boil water in the cute De’Longhi thermos kettle and enjoy tea. As is common at many Resort Hotels these days, the pajamas here were very comfortable and helped me sleep soundly. A small detail, but both the Room trash bin and the bathroom trash bin had liners properly fitted, which made them easy to use. Breakfast around 8:00 was slightly crowded and there was some waiting time, but once we were seated we could relax at ease. We chose Western-style breakfast on day one and Japanese-style on day two; both were delicious and very filling. For dinner we chose BBQ, and on the second night they changed up the ingredients so we could enjoy something different. The carefully selected seafood and meat were all delicious, and there was more than enough food including rice and dessert. On the second night it felt like we had a private setting, and we truly appreciated all of the staff’s help. There is also a large public bath; it wasn’t an Onsen, but it was clean and relaxing, so we were satisfied. All of the staff members were pleasant as well—they spoke to us thoughtfully when needed without being intrusive—so we had a very comfortable stay. The Facility offerings and services felt just right—not too much or too little—and it felt like a Hotel where you can relax at your own pace. It rained on our first day, but early on our second morning there was sunshower weather and we got to see a rainbow. We’d love to come back in another season to enjoy both morning and evening ocean views again.

The front desk staff were very courteous, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent and delicious. It was disappointing that the Onsen is only available in the large public bath. The location was wonderful, and we were able to see Hashima Island. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

It was a truly relaxing experience. The view from the room was spectacular. The bath was an open-air bath surrounded by the forest, offering a heavenly experience. You can enjoy different types of baths with unique atmospheres. At night, you can marvel at the star-filled sky. Meals featured an abundance of local ingredients from the prefecture, and drinks were reasonably priced. I had an amazing time and would love to visit this accommodation again. Iwate is vast, and there are still so many places I want to explore!

It was a wonderful stay, and I was very satisfied, with the unique aesthetic of architect Togo Murano felt throughout. The Hotel is surrounded by lush nature, making it pleasant to enjoy a relaxing walk. At the same time, taking the subway gets you to the city center in about 15 minutes, so access is very convenient. The breakfast I had been looking forward to offered just the right variety for both Western and Japanese options, and everything was delicious. Although I don’t usually wear provided pajamas, they matched the Hotel’s refined atmosphere perfectly, so I enjoyed wearing them this time. The walk from the elevator to my room was a bit long, but being able to stroll while admiring the beautiful courtyard view through the windows made even that travel time feel like a relaxing moment.

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The sashimi came with daikon carved into a crane, and there was also sekihan (red rice). Everything looked beautiful and tasted great, leaving both our stomachs and hearts full. All of the staff were wonderful and very considerate, which made our time here truly enjoyable. I have stayed at this Hotel many times since it opened. It’s a favorite of mine, packed with charm. The interior features abundant Hida-sourced wood, creating a calm atmosphere where warmth and luxury are beautifully balanced. Whether in the lobby or the guest Rooms, it’s comfortable everywhere. The Onsen is also outstanding, with blue mosaic tiles in the baths. They are not only visually beautiful but also pleasant to the touch, making it easy to truly unwind. There is an additional fee, but I especially recommend the private bath with a spacious deck—an indulgent experience in a fully private setting. Above all, my greatest pleasure here is dinner. This time, Perla caviar was served as an amuse-bouche—presented in the tin—which genuinely surprised me with its extravagance. From there, the course continued with spear squid, lobster, and Hida beef; every dish showcased superb ingredients along with the chef’s skill and sense of style. Each plate was moving in its own way—it was simply a wonderful time. The breakfast buffet is equally impressive. From local Takayama specialties to salmon marinade and their signature Hida beef curry, everything is so well executed that it hardly feels like typical Hotel breakfast—I was completely satisfied from the morning. Most memorable of all is the hospitality of the staff. Not only do they respond kindly and attentively whenever you need help, they also greet even casual travel conversations with warm smiles that make you feel truly welcome. If you stay here, I encourage you to chat with them—you’ll appreciate this Hotel even more. Room quality, Onsen, dining, and service—few Hotels deliver such a high level across every aspect. And despite that excellence, the Accommodation Fee is surprisingly reasonable; considering what you receive, the value for money is exceptional. For me, it’s one of my absolute favorite Hotels in Japan—one I will happily return to again and again.

We stayed for one night and two days to recharge with our child. On this trip, the highlights were the abundant nature, delicious meals, and high-quality local souvenirs. From our room, we could enjoy views of the Tama River and the forests of Okutama. We also fully immersed ourselves in nature at Kamanofuchi Park just below the hotel. At night, the sound of the river felt like soothing white noise, and we slept very peacefully. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We usually choose buffet-style dining, but this time we enjoyed a course-style meal where each dish could be savored—something refreshingly different—and our child was delighted with the carefully selected menu. One small point: the Wi-Fi was a bit unstable at times—perhaps due to the hotel’s nature-rich location. Aside from that, everything was very comfortable. Surrounded by nature and enjoying wonderful food, we were able to spend a relaxing and special time together as a family. We would love to stay again. Thank you for a lovely visit.

This was my second stay. Recently I had been staying mostly at Hotels directly connected to Niigata Station or close to the station, but I made a Reservation this time because I wanted to enjoy this breakfast buffet again after a long time. I was a little disappointed that there were fewer varieties of branded rice than before, but everything paired perfectly with rice and was very delicious. With three kinds of yogurt and four kinds of fruit, it was a very satisfying breakfast. The Room was also very clean and comfortable. I would like to stay here again.

I wanted to invite my mentor, who has supported me for many years, to my absolute favorite Accommodation, and we had a wonderful stay. A Room with a beautiful ocean view through large windows, a spacious open-air bath where you can truly relax, carefully prepared and delicious meals, and the thoughtful hospitality of all the staff—everything was outstanding. They were completely satisfied and deeply impressed, and I am truly grateful that I invited them. No matter when you visit or whom you bring along, this is an Accommodation you can trust without hesitation.
