The Hotel is located in a quiet spot with great views, and the scenery from the 5th-floor observation level is wonderful. The Room is not very large, but it is well cleaned and feels relaxing. Both the large public bath and the open-air bath are spacious, so I was able to soak at my own pace and felt refreshed. The meals were delicious for both dinner and breakfast, with a satisfying variety and flavor. The all-inclusive service is also very appealing—being able to choose drinks to match the dishes is perfect for those who enjoy alcohol. All of the staff were kind and naturally attentive, making this a relaxing stay.

This was my first time staying at this Hotel, recommended by my daughter-in-law. When I informed the staff about our significantly delayed check-in, they responded kindly and professionally. The Room was clean and spacious, with an amazing view from the balcony. My husband and I are already discussing coming back next time with our son, his wife, and our grandchild.

Despite the cold weather, they came out to greet us, and their service was kind and attentive. The portion sizes were just right. At checkout, we also received a discount voucher for our next visit, so we would like to stay again.

We stayed here while visiting Bokka no Sato. The food was absolutely delicious—especially the dishes with miso, vegetables, and meat, which went perfectly with rice. The children’s meal was also very generous; we were surprised that it even included sukiyaki beef. It looked so good, but the kids didn’t eat much of it, so the adults happily did (lol). The portions were plentiful, and we’re sorry we couldn’t finish all of the children’s meal. The monaka dessert filled with fruit and ice cream was a big hit with the kids. Breakfast was also excellent, and we enjoyed a hearty meal in the morning. The bath had a jacuzzi as well, and the kids had fun. There were hardly any other guests, so we could relax at our own pace—it was very soothing. We were completely satisfied with both the meals and the bath, and our whole family was able to unwind. Including our trip to Bokka no Sato, it became a wonderful memory. We would love to stay again if we have another opportunity. Thank you very much.

The bath, the Room, and the meals were all excellent. The bath has a great view and is spacious, so you can relax and take your time. The catfish at the breakfast buffet was especially delicious, so I ended up eating a lot. All of the staff were very kind. (Thank you so much for sending my lost item back to me!) I will definitely stay here again!

We stayed here during the Obon holidays with our family and our dog. The Room felt a little small for four adults plus a dog, but the amenities were well stocked, everything was thoroughly cleaned, and we had a very comfortable stay. The grass in the dog run was also beautifully maintained, and our dog seemed to have a great time. Some Reviews mentioned concerns about the food, but they kindly accommodated our request as we are not fond of river fish, and the meals were actually delicious. There was a wide variety of dishes—so much so that we wished we had started dinner a bit earlier to enjoy even more. It seems the dining hall offers many other menu items besides what we had this time, so next time we would like to choose a Plan without meals and try various dishes there. All of the staff were very kind and handled everything with care even during the busy Obon period, which impressed us. It was a wonderful Accommodation that made us want to return for another family trip. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Located in a secluded area with an exceptional view from the window! The atmosphere, reminiscent of a place where bears might appear, adds to the charm!

This time we stayed in the VIP Room and enjoyed the premium kaiseki dinner course. The Room was very spacious, the garden was beautifully maintained, and the private open-air bath attached to the Room was excellent. All of the staff who assisted us were very kind, and every dinner dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious. Breakfast seemed to be the same for all courses, but since we can’t eat much in the morning, we personally appreciated that it was on the lighter side. We also visited the large public bath, but we noticed towels left at washing stations that were not being used and some guests reserving spots. We think it would be even better if there were guidance on how to use the facilities in languages other than Japanese. Access was convenient—about a 7-minute walk to the streetcar stop. By taxi or car, you can reach major sightseeing spots in about 15 minutes, so if you don’t have a car, using both the streetcar and taxis makes it easy to get around. It was a 5-minute drive from the airport, so being able to leave our luggage before/after our stay was very convenient. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again for about two nights in a VIP Room with the premium dining course. Thank you very much.

This trip to Hokkaido was a three-sister getaway to celebrate my older sister’s 70th birthday. I requested a birthday message plate, and on the day you kindly prepared a private Room for us. The dessert message plate was wonderful as well! Dinner, including the grilled scallops, was absolutely delicious. I’ve been recommending this Accommodation to my friends—if you’re going to Otaru, please be sure to stay here! Thank you very much. The staff were very kind, and we truly enjoyed talking with you. Kirishima truly feels like Japan’s hometown. It was a warmly welcoming, deeply comfortable inn—something that resonates all the more because I’m Japanese. It was my first stay, yet I spent such a fulfilling time that I already didn’t want to leave. There were also guests who seemed like seasoned solo travelers, and the atmosphere is one where everyone quietly appreciates the moment without overstepping—maintaining a pleasantly respectful distance. The inn cherishes an authentic sense of Japanese calm, making it a relaxing, adult-oriented space where you can truly unwind. Every dish was delicious, and the carefully prepared specialties—including their signature apple gratin—never became tiring even over multiple nights. The house wine is high quality, and it’s also a treat to enjoy pairings with drinks such as “Nanshuo,” a sake associated with Saigo Takamori. The hot springs are private-bath style, with an excellent system that lets you see availability at a glance. This trip was also meant to help heal my knee injury, and the indoor bath in particular had wonderful temperature and water quality—it soaked gently into my body. (For families with small children, the outdoor bath with its milder temperature may be more comfortable.) In this spiritually charged townscape where steam rises from all around, instead of rushing through sightseeing I was able to spend peaceful time quietly visiting Kirishima Shrine. In addition to being about 40 minutes by bus from Kagoshima Airport, it’s conveniently located right by the bus stop. With an adjacent tourist market and a convenience store just a 1-minute walk away, practicality is excellent as well. Wi-Fi works smoothly throughout the property, making it suitable for a workation stay too. A highly recommended onsen ryokan for anyone who loves tranquility, exceptional hot springs, and great food.

We stayed here for our family trip at the end of summer vacation. It was a special Room—the only one of its kind in the Hotel. It had the space of two Rooms plus a living area, and an exceptionally large bathroom—about the size of another Room—with a spacious bathtub where you can fully stretch out, as well as a separate shower room. The bubble-bath function had been removed, but features such as the marble flooring gave it a very luxurious feel. There were also private stairs, a ramp, and an exclusive corridor leading to this special Room, with outstanding attention to privacy. From the Room, we enjoyed breathtaking views over all of Lake Megami and the surrounding mountains. There were three large TVs, which delighted our children, and we could use the air conditioning as well, so we stayed comfortable throughout our visit. The public bath included an open-air bath and even two saunas, and the lockers were clean. From the open-air bath we could look out over Lake Megami and the mountains while relaxing in the Onsen. We enjoyed cooling off in the cold bath, watching clouds drift by, and taking our time to fully appreciate Tateshina Onsen. As it was peak season, both dinner and breakfast were buffet only; while there weren’t many items overall, each dish was truly delicious. The coffee did not seem to be freshly drip-brewed from a machine like those found at some buffets, so having a coffee machine would be nice. Next time we are very much looking forward to trying kaiseki cuisine at the basement-level restaurant as well. As an IKYU.com Diamond member benefit I requested late check-out; unfortunately it wasn’t possible due to peak season demand. Still, this is such a wonderful Hotel that we wanted to stay even longer—the Room was beautiful, spacious, and impressive in every way. Thank you also for the Diamond member gifts (a bottle of wine and souvenirs from Nagano). Since in Parking Lot No. 1 the wheelchair-priority space is shared with EV charging spaces, I think it would be better to separate them so that enough spaces can be secured to meet nighttime EV charging demand while keeping accessible parking available at all times. We arrived at 11:00 and completed check-in procedures first; the front desk staff were excellent. We requested early check-in but it wasn’t possible due to peak season; however when keys became available before 3:00 p.m., they were handed out in order of completion of procedures—so arriving early was worthwhile for us after all. We will be staying in this same Room again in the future as well; thank you in advance from our whole family for your continued hospitality. Thank you very much to all staff members.”

As a smoker, I truly appreciate this hotel at a time when more and more hotels are becoming non-smoking. I look forward to staying with you again.

I used Villa Fontaine for the first time because they serve Soup Stock Tokyo soups. I later looked it up and found that this is the only Villa Fontaine where you can have Soup Stock Tokyo soup. The breakfast selection isn’t very large compared with other hotels. If I remember correctly, it was about two kinds of soup, 4–5 kinds of bread, salad, scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, yogurt, fruit and jelly desserts, and drinks. There was no rice. A wide variety of breakfast options is appealing, but I always worry about food waste when there’s too much left over, so this felt more than sufficient. There are two self check-in machines. A staff member was assisting the guest ahead of me at one machine the whole time; that itself wasn’t an issue. However, my check-in screen loaded very slowly and it took about 10 minutes to complete. Partway through a staff member said something like “Mr./Ms. ***, thank you for waiting…” so I assume they could see who was trying to check in from the back office. I don’t know whether someone needs to operate the system behind the scenes for it to proceed, but if they already knew my name, I wish they could have helped resolve it. Only twin rooms were available at the time, so although I was traveling alone I stayed in a twin room. Even though this was a business trip and I wanted to use my laptop in the room, there was only a small table (about 40–50 cm square), so it wasn’t suitable for working with both a laptop and an external monitor spread out. That was my choice though. Because it was a twin room it felt slightly more spacious overall, which made it comfortable in that respect. The mattress firmness suited me well. I’d be happy to stay again if I have another opportunity.

I’ve stayed here several times, but this was my first time at Kobushi. ○ There is a gap at the bottom of the Room door, so outside noise carries in easily. ○ Because there is no door to the dining area, food smells spread throughout the entire floor. Also, dinner time is set at 90 minutes, and the next dishes come slowly. When dining with a child (one-plate meal), they finished early and it was difficult. These two points were drawbacks. Everything else was perfect. You can enjoy yourself from morning until late afternoon the next day! You can play a lot and relax, and everyone from children to adults will be satisfied. No matter how many times we come, my child says they want to stay again. Regarding meals, I’d appreciate it if the serving pace could be faster for guests with children—once they finish eating, they have nothing to do.

It started with the open-air bath in a separate annex, and the Onsen was wonderful. I left the Accommodation in a hurry because it looked like my return train might stop running due to the weather. Next time, I’d like to stay for two nights and relax—enjoying the Onsen and spending plenty of time reading.

We stayed here for a commemorative trip with four generations of our family on Respect for the Aged Day. We were truly delighted by the pleasant greetings and thoughtful hospitality from everyone in every department, including the manager. The meals were lavish and delicious, the Room was clean, and the natural Onsen was wonderful. It became a trip full of great memories, and our whole family is very happy. Thank you very much.

The warm, welcoming atmosphere from everyone at the Ryokan was wonderful. The Room was clean and very relaxing. From the flavors to the presentation, the meals were truly enjoyable, delicious, and outstanding. The portions seemed a bit small at first, so if you let your guard down you might not make it to the end—happy problem to have. (Laughs) The beer in the Room wasn’t ice-cold, so next time I’ll grab one from the back!! I’ll visit again in a different season—thank you in advance.

Even if you arrive after your scheduled check-in time, if you have a No Meals Included plan there is no need to contact them as long as it’s by 22:00, which is very convenient. You can truly hear the babbling stream and wild birds. It’s a small Hotel, and I felt the large public bath was fairly spacious. The front desk staff were extremely pleasant, and even after the shop had closed, they kindly sold me corn ice cream from the ice cream workshop at the front desk. The staff also looked out for our luggage—this is a very attentive and comfortable Accommodation. Since we were leaving early in the morning, I really appreciated being able to have De’Longhi coffee from the free drink service before heading out.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. We were very satisfied with both the bath and the meals, and the staff were very kind. We had a relaxing stay. The Room was spacious, and we were able to unwind comfortably.
